Is there any difference between the two, especially when it comes to mod souls. Is one more beneficial than the other in any way or nah? I just want to know why there's a choice or if there's a difference beyond the sources of the two.

Reiryoku is the internal energy within yourself. Reishi is basically the spiritual version of atoms. Reiryoku is made up of reishi.

Not sure if reiryoku is reishi is the right way of putting that. For the sake of understanding in the human world you have Matter and energy and in the spiritual world you have reishi and reiryoku which by their nature are much stronger then the human world version. Its true that they can be converted back and forth but in RP that isnt something that is normally done outside special cases like quincy final form.
As someone who plays a mod soul let me tell you that its unusual to have a mos soul that uses reishi. I dont even think there is on who does at the moment. When picking between the two its best to look at the other races who use each. Humans, shinigami, and hollows all use reiryoku so examples of such techs are Cero, kido etc, where as bounts and quincy use reishi with more of a manifesting physical objects to fight vibe.

To clarify, though it is not explicitly said in canon, races that "use Reishi" (Quincies and Bounts, and other characters on site if they gain some means to via inventions or whatever) are basically just converting Reishi (spiritual matter) outside of their body into Reiryoku (spiritual energy), and then using that. Most races do not naturally have the ability to do this, and thus can only use Reiryoku inherent to their own being.
Not even sure the end of the explanation made sense, but yeah. Hope that clarified something, since I'm guessing you were asking as to the difference between races that use "Reishi" and "Reiryoku" for their techniques/abilities/powers/whatever.
