The city below was calm. It was wonderfully peaceful, although from high above the city on his towering building Alexander wouldn’t be able to hear the noise of the city. But that’s not what he felt. He felt the spiritual energy of the area through his gigai as he sipped on the wine in his glass. He listened to his assistant speaking to the people who ran the department heads as they discussed what to do with the growing number of Shinigami in the area. Alexander found the business talk informative, but he wasn’t in the mood to give his opinion today. Oz could handle that today. He sat back down on his desk watching the people talk.
Soon though the meeting would be over as the scientists would leave the room. The quiet only being broken by alexanders wine glass being put down on the table. He smiled as he fixed his hair the red locks shining in the rooms light. As alexander sat there, leaned against his desk he would stand up and walk toward oz. grabbing her by the waist and kissing her. “Lets go to lunch. Im bored with the business world today, and id much rather spend time with you then be in this stuffy room.”
Alright everybody, I believe that you all have your assignments and I will ensure to bring up all of your concerns with Mr. Kingsford. Also, Dr. Katsuoda, I will email you later on about those additional resources. Judy said, gathering up her papers and notes from the meeting with the department heads. She had gotten used to taking care of these meetings while Alexander ponders other matters, she didn't mind at all, knowing that he was working on things far more important that the dealings of his mortal business. She was about to make a reminder on her phone for the email she had mentioned when she felt a strong arm grab her from around the waist. With a gasp she was spun around and found herself locked in a loving kiss with her employer.
Woo! Way to go boss! Came the rowdy voice of Ray echoing inside Judy's head, one of the four others that inhabited her mind. Collectively they called themselves Oz, an homage to the movie that Ray had impulsively watched over three hundred times. Their collective similarities to the cast in the film were strong enough that the group agreed to go by the moniker. Either way, Judy didn't pay much attention to the immature outburst, a little preoccupied with what was going on in front of her. It even took her a moment to register that Alexander had stopped kissing her and suggested they go out to lunch. She gave a light headed nod to the idea before she came back to her senses fully.
O-of course, yes, that sounds wonderful. She said, backing away a little and gathering herself, straightening out her skirt and blazer. Um, I'll, uh, I'll just go get freshened up a bit and meet you by the car. She said as she held her files and notes close to her chest, giving Alexander a sincere smile that she couldn't keep off her face. She glowed bright red for an instant before vanishing from sight as she entered her 'Ruby Dimension' which she commonly used to get around the building quickly since she could largely ignore things like walls and floors. She hastily got to her room, an out of the way apartment she shared with the rest in her mind and got dressed as quickly as she could, choosing a floral pattern yellow sun dress.
Do keep in mind that my time will start shortly, I would like to start on schedule for once. Albert said in her mind, making reference to the time they had agreed to switch who would be in control of the physical body. At the moment, only Judy and Albert had to share time, and due to certain... embarrassing circumstances, Albert had chosen to forego changing places with Judy. When she woke up next to Mr. Kingsford, for example, he had decided it would be impolite to suddenly replace the lovely young lady with a well built male body and personality.
I'll do my best, but I'm not going to rush Alex. Whatever time I go over, you can take up out of my scheduled switch over time, okay? She said, hoping Albert would agree to the proposal. She could feel his silent, if begrudging approval of the plan as she made her way down to the front of the building to wait for Alexander and the car.
Alexander smiled at her blush, and watched as she turned red and disappeared into her pocket room. He made his way down from his office, taking the stairs slowly as he walked by each of the labs on his way down. He saw the many scientists he had hired working on building new ways to increase human superiority. As he did he smiled to himself and made his way to the entrance of the building, summoning his car with a mental command from his gigai as the auto pilot activated and it drove toward him. It parked in front of the building as he stood in front of it.
He smiled as he waited for Oz, and as she approached he would smile and open the car door for her and help her into the car. As he did he would comment on the beauty of her sundress. “Such a beautiful dress Oz, I think Ill have to buy you more.” He said as he whispered it in her ear. The loving nature of his affection for her could be heard in every word. He smiled as he stepped into the car with her and shut the door, the car leaving for the restaurant soon after as he laughed gently. “I thought today wed dine at your favorite place. Then possibly take a trip for a few days, what do you think?”
Judy winced a little at Alexander calling her 'Oz' as she generally preferred him to call her by Judy when she was the dominant personality. She understood it could be confusing for the man since all five of them only had two bodies to share at the moment. Still, she happily took his hand and sat in the car, a quick 'thank you' in response to his comment on her dress. He was always so affectionate, something that Judy really did like about Alex, but sometimes she felt undeserving of it. He had come to their collective rescue, and still he felt the need to lavish her and by extension the rest of her mental room mates with so many gifts. When he made mention of the idea of going to her favourite restaurant (a little bistro near the river) and then taking a trip, she had to actually think about it.
I would love to have lunch, but I have to talk to everybody else for a moment about a trip. She said, quite eager to accept without reservation, but unfortunately her decisions were not always her own to make. In this instance, she hoped everybody would be in agreement.
Hey, weren't we supposed to go body hunting for Jack and I? I'm tired of having to be a time share with that melon chested body! Ray said, bringing up the one major argument that Judy knew would be brought up. Ever since they had been working for Alexander, they had needed to switch between the use of Judy and Albert's gigais. It was pretty inconvenient for everybody, and they had only recently managed to convince Judy that getting Ray and Jack a body would be ethical if they stuck to dead bodies.
I can wait. Came the monotone sound that marked Jack making his opinion known. He had been the least vocal and most patient of the personalities with regards to getting a new body. He had refused to use either Alberts or Judy's body, sighting something about not wanting to disrupt personal boundaries.
I feel that getting the rest of you bodies is of utmost importance. I refuse to have that dog inhabit my body again! Albert grumbled, mentioning the seldom considered member of their collective.
Ruff! Came the sound of a small scottish terrier, voicing his indignation at Alberts comment. Rrrruff, ark ark! He continued, and idea that seemed to consolodate the group.
Terry's right. We can find bodies anywhere, so I say as long as we still get some time during this trip when Judy can manage to peel herself out of the Boss's bed to get our new suits, then I vote yes for the trip. Ray said, Judy blushing at the woman's insinuation.
Agreed.
I still feel this is a waste of time, but majority rules.
Alright, we're all decided. As long as there is some time for everybody else to be active, none of us have issues with going on a trip. She said aloud to let Alexander know that she was all for going out somewhere.
Alexander smiled when she answered yes to going with him on his trip. He kissed her cheek as they reached the resturante and left the car. The place was small, But alexander had taken her to it when they had first met, so many years ago. He bought it and made sure it was kept well and good just for her. It had become a place he took her to to treat her for all the work she does for him. He wished he could give her more though. As they were taken to their table he would pull her chair out and wait for her to sit. Once she did he would push her chair in and smile as he took his own seat opposite her.
As he sat down at the table the waiter would not even have to ask as he brough over the best wine they had. “Oz, I need you to sleep for a while. I need to speak to judy privately.” He smiled softly as the waiter poured the wine, he worked for them, and knew that judy was not human. As the waiter left Alexander became serious. “Judy its time we talk about the project…Is the mass warp portal construction going well? Or do we need more time?” Alexander was referring to the portal that would let them revolutionize the human world, trade made instantantious. She wanted to show it at the world fair coming up.
Fair enough, I can only stomach you making advances on our employer for so long. Albert commented with a sneer as he left the group consciousness. Everybody else left with a little more tact, Jack leaving wordlessly as he usually did, Ray making an insinuation Judy would rather ignore and Terry running off excitedly. Judy did enjoy everybody's company, but having a little private time to herself where she could truly be alone with her own thoughts was a seldom enjoyed blessing. She gave a brief nod for Alex to continue as the waiter finished with their wine and stepped away. She was actually a bit surprised to hear that he wanted to ask her about the portal project since he had mentioned bringing her here to avoid work. Still, it was one of the things that she enjoyed about the man, he was unstoppable when it came to his goals. She took a sip of wine as she started shuffling through her phone where she kept notes on the various projects. Her memory wasn't the best, an unfortunate side-effect of her mind being fused with four others, so she kept meticulous notes on everything in the business.
The project has hit a bit of a wall. We have four of our top resources on the issue, but they say they need some sort of bench mark to take readings off of and study. I have a meeting scheduled next week to go down to the lab and use my teleportation ability for them to take scans. They said they need the week to set up the appropriate equipment for the test. She said, hoping that the scientists on this project could use her dimensional hopping ability to decipher how to break the whole 'quantum tunnelling' thing. Jack has also expressed interest in attacking the problem, but at the moment he doesn't have a body to use. The rest of Oz intend to take some time during our trip to acquire forms of some kind, so he may be able to lend a hand to them. She said, wondering if she would have to invent identities for them like she had for Albert and herself. She was mercifully pretty handy with the computer, and creating birth certificates and the like was surprisingly easy to manage, especially with Alexander's resources. They're optimistic that there'll be a working prototype in a month or so. She said, putting her phone down. Was there anything else you wanted to discuss sir?
She stole a glance at the menu, the eggs benedict looked good, and she felt like she would enjoy it but she couldn't remember if she had ordered it before... Also... do you remember if I've ever ordered the eggs benedict?
Alexander listened to her as he sipped at his wine. He smiled softly as she spoke of the project. it was going to change the world. when she asked if there was anything else she wanted to discuss he almost laughed. He had so much he wanted to talk to her about, he had a ring he wanted to place on her finger and sweep her away from this life. But now was not the time. "Yes, you have had the eggs benedict before. Though I think youll find you liked the parfeit better." He smiled as the waiter returned, and alexander ordered both dishes for her, ordering a stake for himself with an egg and potatos. The man nodded before leaning down and whispering in alexanders ear before leaving.
Alexander sighed softly. The waiter had informed him that the previous chef had died, and that the new one was still learning. He looked toward Judy before smiling again. He let his smile hang there for a moment, But she would know better then anyone else that it was fake. That it was the face he wore when he didnt want to worry her. But with everything that had been going on lately, he figured he should tell her. He just wasnt quite sure how too. How does one tell the person they love that you might not exist soon? The smile slowly faded as the waiter returned with their food and he struck up a conversation with Judy. But as the waiter left, he had his smile back on. "Ready to eat?"
There’s a parfait? She said quizzically, flipping the menu over to see if she could find it. Apparently she had enjoyed it sometime earlier, but couldn’t remember for the life of her. Alex took the time to order for the both of them, though Judy wasn’t completely sure that she could eat both meals, it was a lot of food. She also didn’t want to put on weight, it wasn’t easy to hit the gym very regularly when you had to split your time between three other minds. To be completely honest, she wasn’t even sure that her body COULD gain weight, what with being a gigai and all. It was definitely something she’d have to figure out, making a quick note in her phone about investigating it later, also a note about the parfait. While she was tapping away at her phone, the waiter came over and whispered something to Alexander, something that clearly soured the large man’s mood. He tried to feign a smile, but he had a lousy poker face, so she could tell something was getting under his skin. She also knew that he would tell her in his own time if something was up, her pestering him wouldn’t help. They waited in relative silence until the food came over, the waiter apologizing for the time it took.
My appologies, the chef is a recent hire and is still getting used to everything. I hope that everything will be just like you remember it though. He said with a smile.
I’m sure it’ll be fantastic. She said with a perky tone and pleasant grin, not mentioning that she wouldn’t know if it was exactly the same or not. She knew she had been here before, she knew she had enjoyed her time here with Alex, but she couldn’t recall much else. When the waiter left, Judy gave a slight nod when Alexander suggested they dig in, still curious what it was that was bothering him. News of a different cook would disappoint Alex of course, but she was sure that it wasn’t what was making him so saddened.
His business is his to share Judy, you should be patient. Albert advised, though it didn’t make Judy feel much better about it.
Show’m your rack! That’ll cheer him up Ray blurted, a surprised chuckle escaping Judy at the sudden suggestion, almost making her choke on her parfait.
Guh, heh, oh my, Ray’s suggesting I ‘cheer you up’ in a pretty risqué manner. She said, hoping to clarify the little giggle.
