The woman navigated through the streets of the seireitei. A central meeting place where different shinigami from different squads met eachother. A place to mingle with members from a different squad. A positive thing. Yet Rin wasn't here to meet any friends from other squads, god knew she had none. Nor was she here for any social motive. A silent growl in her stomach reminded her of the true purpose of this walk through this part of the seireitei. She was hungry. But, if she was hungry, she'd be somewhere in the barracks, eating lunch. She was here because she had overheard several members from her squad talking about this particulary place. That the food here was delicious.
She slid open the door, walking in and sitting down somewhere close to a window. A good spot. She could both oversee what was happening in the restaurant and what was happening outside. With a slow sigh, she leaned back into the seat. A waiter coming to take her order. She felt slightly disturbed by this, just intruding on the brief peace of mind she had gotten. Well, she was in a restaurant after all. Having her order noted was only a natural course of action here. She nodded as the waitress took her order. Voice lacking intonation. Her face nothing but cold neutrality.

Midday had come frighteningly fast for Shirabe today. Perhaps it was how uneventful today had been at the Senkaimon, considering it was that time of year when most of the A-list Hollow-hunters were either already assigned or off duty. Most would say they were thankful for the break; the ashen-haired man who strode through the streets of Seireitei said otherwise. He craved the feeling of being useful to Seireitei, the place he had worked so hard to enter. It'd be a short lunch today, then back to the gates, just in case anyone important came by and needed to utilize a static Senkaimon.
Normally he'd have Tsuya, his best friend since the Academy, cook something up for him so he could eat it while on duty but Tsuya had been posted out in the Human World for four weeks, apparently kicking around in Northern Italy. Despite Shirabe's dedication to his job, he couldn't help but feel a small pang of jealousy. Regardless, this had been the place Tsuya had suggested, so it was where he'd go.
The outside looked very unassuming; bland, almost. Just a sign saying "Watatsumi Diner" in black kanji. Still, judging a book by it's cover was never particularly his style, he figured it was best to taste the food first then he could decide for himself if he'd come back for a second visit. With a few quick steps he was inside, pushing the door open and giving a small sigh as he realized all the tables were now full. Typical.
He noticed one table was occupied only by a woman sitting on her lonesome, which prompted him to walk over and place his finger on the table next to the seat he intended to take. As usual, he kept his voice flat but added a hint of an apologetic tone. In this sort of situation he'd just take the food to go and sit at the Senkaimon gate but making the walk back would make him feel so defeated; like the restaurant had beaten him somehow.
"Would you mind if I sat here, miss?"

Rin looked up at the unknown voice, not a muscle in her face changing. A neutral and cold expression. Emotionless eyes. "I would not." She said with a disturbing lack of intonation, her voice being nothing more than a monotone, uninterested and dry hum. She was not here to chat or socialise. She merely was here to sate her hunger in a more pleasant way than the usual. She looked down at her lap, her hands folded there. She was tired. Absolutely exhausted even. The nightmares that plagued her each night keeping her up. Screaming. Nothing but three people's back. Wishing to be heard but voice unheard.
Crawling untill nails were bleeding. She closed her eyes briefly, looking up again. Her face hadn't moved an inch, even through these dark thoughts reminding her of last night's insomnia. And the night prior to that. For several weeks already. Rin let out a slow breath. Trying to clear her mind of the unescessary and depressing thoughts. She merely had to stand before Shinpi Akumu to change all this. She looked up as her meal was placed down before her, it seemed a simple enough meal, consisting mostly of rice and some meat. She didn't look Shirabe in the eyes or even say something as she started eating. Her face still the same devoid of emotions.
