Hakuen, Shirabe - Shinigami, Kidōshu

The Inner World of Shirabe is dominated mainly by his phobia, taking the appearance of a jagged wasteland, the skies filled with ash and smoke, his only salvation being the group of buildings on the tallest rock spire, where he usually appears. The world tends to change when Shirabe is not in his regular mental state, pouring with acid rain when he is sad, the distant volcano exploding in fire and brimstone when he is angry and a swirling sea of lava appearing beneath the rock spires when his phobia begins to take hold. The buildings themselves are akin to traditional Japanese houses from the 17th century, often bare with dust and cobwebs in the corners but sturdy and steadfast.

Description:

This ability is automatically activated when the sword is released, passively causing Kakazan to drip with molten magma. This magma acts in a similar way to it's physical counterpart on Earth, though it is continuously and indefinitely produced from the surface of the sword, dripping and oozing in a great mass of heat and fire. When swung, the lava detaches like any viscous liquid, splashing in the arc of the weapon; this is similarly true of any movement of the blade, meaning Shirabe has to be careful of splashback.

Description:

This technique simply denotes the activation of the burning effect of the magma released from Kakazan. In order to burn the victim, this ability must be consciously activated when the lava is in contact with a flammable surface. If the lava were to strike a surface that is non-flammable, i.e Kido Barriers, stone, metal, etc. then it sticks to the surface and hardens fully into stone after one post, which does not require direct activation with this technique. Before activation, the lava reacts like a hot, viscous liquid that does not necessarily burn but it does feel rather uncomfortable to most. When activated on a highly flammable surface, the lava can set fire to it provided that lava would set fire to it in the Human World; i.e fabric, wood, gasoline, etc.

When the lava makes contact with something flammable, i.e skin, it begins to burn and melt the surface unless the target has three advantages over Shirabe. At two advantages over Shirabe, the liquid still burns but does not melt into the surface, meaning it can be removed very easily with the hand with minimal damage; as if burned by boiling water rather than molten stone. At one advantage over Shirabe the lava takes two posts to melt into the skin, at which point removal of the liquid requires medical help and counts as a major wound (on the level of a deep cut), continually burning the victim until such medical help arrives, though the pain and damage is equivalent again only to being scalded with boiling water.

When an opponent at equal level to Shirabe is struck, the liquid melts into the skin after one post and does significant burning damage upon contact, causing immense pain and injury continuously until it is removed; which, when it has melted into the skin, can only be done via medical assistance on the level of a major wound (deep cuts, etc.). If an opponent struck by the lava is minus one advantage to Shirabe, the liquid instantly melts into the skin and causes continuous burning damage which can only be stopped with the removal of the liquid; same method as equal advantage. At two advantages below Shirabe and so on, the lava melts into the skin instantly and after one turn burns the inflicted area beyond repair, often melting the affected limb to cinders; can only be removed by medical professionals (on the level of broken bones). In all instances (apart from 2+ advantages below Shirabe), after three posts of the liquid having melted into the skin the affected area is damages virtually beyond repair and melts into a boiling, blistering black mass of charred flesh, bone and muscle.

Description:

Kakazan exudes much more lava than normal, allowing Shirabe to swing the blade and send the molten liquid in a widespread arc that can travel a maximum of 20 meters. The wave, whilst perhaps not large enough to completely cover multiple people, it is definitely enough to completely cover one, rising 10 meters and falling onto a 10x10 meter area like a wave of water. However, it is a rather slow technique, travelling only at Cero speed. Kakazan also requires a single post to replenish it's blade with lava, in the mean time maintaining a white-hot blade.

Description:

Swinging the lava-clad blade in front of him, he causes it to instantly cool and extend upward into a wall of rock to act as an emergency barrier. The formation of this barrier is generally quite fast from when the lava is placed, shooting up 15 meters at 10x Cero speed. When the wall dissipates, it crumbles into cinders and smoke, creating a small smokescreen for Shirabe to mask his movements.
