Description: Monitor is a hybrid organism created from research into hollow essence, hollowfied botanical organisms, and artificial soul research. Originally designed as a biological computer to store all of Seran’s acquired knowledge and carry out basic tasks, the system was enhanced when he decided to create an advisor based off of his own mind, but that could only think logically without the interference of emotions. To do this he decoded parts of the mental coding within his soul pill coding and inserted it into a hollow soul template he designed by studying his hollow essence. As his creation grew he tested its intelligence and modified the genetic structure with hollowfied plant genetics to complete the soul’s coding. In its completed form, Monitor is a large hollowfied brain organism, mainly black with glowing purple lobes covering the surface. The exterior hides an highly complex body with chambers for studying and creating biological substances. Monitor can also interface with almost any conceivable system, including electronics and operate them, allowing it to run all parts of Seran’s lab.

Name: Reseach Bacteria

Description: Microscopic research cells that infect a host but cause no negative symptoms. Once infected, the bacteria send information about the host back to Monitor’s main body. This includes samples of the host’s DNA and reiatsu, but they also record the host’s whereabouts and activity after infection. Without specialized knowledge, these bacteria are impossible to notice differentiate from the body’s normal bacterial cells. These cells work in much the same way as poison, being applied to the user’s weapon or other dispersal device.

Name: Linked Parasite

Description: Tiny parasitic leeches spawned by Monitor that can be attached to any organism. Contrary to the name, these creature are nothing but beneficial to the host and connect back to Monitor’s main body regardless of range. The leech is surgically implanted by placing it on the back of the host’s neck, where it will attach and fuse into and through the skin, attaching to the host’s brain stem (or similar for other races). The host will feel a strange sensation as the parasite links to their brain and body but afterwards will feel no discomfort. The parasite has no control over the host aside from allowing monitor to speak through them, though when this happens the host’s eyes take on the same glowing purple color as the main body and the leech and their voice becomes the deep tone of monitor. This parasite records events much the same as the research bacteria, but also allows monitor it share information with the host. The parasite also acts as a base from which additional body modifications can be added.

Name: Monitor Jigokucho

Description: An evolution of the standard jigokucho grow within Monitor. In appearance they differ only in that where the normal jigokucho have red on their wings, the Monitor Jigokucho have purple, though they can switch back to red for stealth purposes. These jigokucho have all the qualities of the originals, with the added benefit of being the eyes and ears of Monitor. Those with the Linked Parasite can also tap into this living camera network. Monitor can also sever connection with any of these butterflies, essentially converting them back into basic jigokucho.
