Mitsuoki had gotten on a knee before his Bankai spirit and the spirit stopped him halfway and told him that he did not want his soul reaper to bow to him. He told Mitsuoki that he was the zanpakuto here, and it would be his responsibility to obey him, within reason. The spirit had told Mitsuoki that only he was able to reveal to him the truths of his existence, and his trial would be what would happen after he was enlightened. Mitsuoki had looked on the spirit and tried to speak, tried to ask him to show him the truth, but his words were silenced. The bankai spirit told Mitsuoki that enlightenment is gained from silence and observance. Mitsuoki nodded and took a seat, crossing his legs while Zen'in Keihatsu No O had sat on his knees. Mitsuoki was told that the reason he was always feeling empty was because his soul chain had already been consumed when he was sent to the soul society. He had no memories because he had no heart, he had no hope, he had no ambition because he did not have a proper heart to feel such things. He was told that this was not the same as a physical heart, but rather, it was a metaphorical one. The same one that formed a hollow's mask.
Mitsuoki had cusped his hand over his chest without clutching and looked down at the ground below him. The Omniscient King of Enlightenment ordered him to look up, and to never once in his life look to the ground. He told Mitsuoki that his human heart was not necessary. He had a soul reaper's heart, and he had used that heart before, and that using that heart was the reason he had grown to be so powerful. Mitsuoki tried to argue, but he could not speak at all. He wanted to tell the King of Enlightenment he was wrong, that he was weak; but, the king would not take such a lie at face value, and did not want to hear it. The Omniscient King of Enlightenment spoke up and said that his hollow had not left him, and that it was still present as part of his soul. His hollow had taken refuge in his soul to prevent itself from being forced to fight against him. Mitsuoki had asked if that meant he would have to subjugate her again, and the king told him that, that was not the case. He explained that the hollow had found it preferable to balance his soul, and be able to feel enjoyment in the small things that Mitsuoki did. That Akatsuki was the hollow, turned zanpakuto.
This knowledge made Mitsuoki open his eyes and look at the Omniscient King of Enlightenment with a shocked expression. That was it... Akatsuki was afraid of being rejected, being hated by Mitsuoki for being partly a hollow's soul. The king had told Mitsuoki that it was not the same as a vizard, not even close. There was nothing to gain from her being present, and he would lose nothing if she had never existed. It was also explained that Akatsuki was part of him, the king of enlightenment, himself. He was the combined wisdom of both zanpakuto, in a single form that can guide him when he needed. Then, the king had told Mitsuoki that he would need to make a decision when he returned to the outer world. He would need to confront Akatsuki and decide whether he wanted to destroy her entirely, or let her continue on as the balancing half of his blade. Whether he could continue fighting alongside her, using her power, and hearing her voice in his head, knowing that she was the reason why he was the way he way; or, he would kill her and regain everything he had lost. Mitsuoki was then forced out of his world and into the crater where Akatsuki was grabbing her arm nervously.
Mitsuoki opened his eyes and looked at her. He then let out a sigh and said that he did not care that she was the one who contained his lost memories as a human. Akatsuki looked up at Mitsuoki with hope in her eyes, and he held his hand up, letting her know to stay silent. Akatsuki had looked to the ground again and awaited her judgement. Mitsuoki had told her that he would never once kill a sentient being for personal gain. He did not need his human memories to fight for what he believed in. He did not need human hope for him to hold his head high. He then added in that what he DID need, was for Akatsuki to stay at his side, and trust that he accepted her for what she was without resentment, and needed her to accept him as her soul reaper. She had agreed and the two zanpakuto had vanished entirely. Mitsuoki had looked down to discover both of the swords were gone, and noticed that the crater was no longer damaged from their battle. There were no signs of him being present at all. Mitsuoki had taken a step forward and noticed that he left behind not a single foot print. It was as though he simply did not exist.
Mitsuoki was given the understanding that any evidence of him being within Hueco Mundo, anything at all that could be used to trace back to him in any method, had been erased. Mitsuoki then used his gatestone kido to leave and return to the Soul Society, directly next to Haruka's grave, inside his Shallow Grave kido. Any spiritual pressure that was left in the dongai when he passed through was completely eradicated. Fingerprints, footprings, the smallest atom of his dry skin, the dents in the meteor, the fact that the meteor was moved at all, the barriers he had put up in the crater, the places in the crater where Mitsuoki and Akatsuki's attacks made smaller craters- everything... All of it was completely gone, and any other evidence of his bankai training, except for him having a bankai at all, was gone. Mitsuoki was told that the Enlightened King of Omniscience had deemed it necessary to do so, but not told by the king why he deemed it necessary. Mitsuoki did not ask, he felt like he did not have the right to do so. After that, he looked around from inside the Shallow Grave kido and sat down next to Haruka's grave, thinking about how far he had come.
