So, there's a few small-time items that I was wanting to make for my character for plot reasons. 1). A pendant that records everything that happens around it and can be played back at any time by touching it and focusing on a specific time and date. 2). A bracelet that restricts my character's Reiatsu and Reiryoku Pool to make training more challenging. (Kind of like adding more weights when lifting)
I was looking over the item creation guide and read the following: • "All items must be bought with the plot points of or make IC by an OC with the creation mastery high enough to do so." • Squad 12: "Only group that can rank up via Item Creation."
This makes it sound like we can buy items with Plot Points. But, I've looked over the Plot Point thread several times and the only things I could find that can be purchased are: • Passive Techniques • Non-passive Techniques • Masteries • Event boxes (Event Points)
I was wondering: • Did I misunderstand the above listed excerpt from the Items Guide? • If Squad 12 is the only ones who can rank up by physically creating items, how would someone from outside the squad rank up? Would we require someone to teach us for each rank? • For the 2 items that I listed above, granted they have no practical use in PvP, what level of the mastery would I need to make it, assuming that I can't outright buy it with Plot Points? • Do abilities on crafted items deduct from our Technique Pool? I know that Minion Techniques do since it's outright stated in the guide, but for non-minions it doesn't directly state it so I'm somewhat on the fence about it.
Also, there's a couple typos in the mastery section at the bottom of the guide. [Specialized] "You've given up another mastery another mastery to be listed among those who skill (those whose skill) cannot be described. Perhaps I’ve give (Perhaps I'll give OR Perhaps I've given) you the address of a friend of mine. He runs a candy store in Karakura town…." |

Those items are probably fine, though I'd have to see them written out as items to be sure Yes you can purchase items with PP, you pay the price for the techniques associated with the item. If you look at the templates, you have the actual item description and then below it the techs the item has, those are what you pay plot points for. 12th div ranking up from creating items means they're item creation mastery counts as mastery points when ranking up their character overall. Other races increase their mastery level through making items, but it does not effect how quickly their character ranks up. The items you want would likely require above average mastery only because of their complexity. However, a system for gotei shinigami to be able to requisition items from the 12th without needed creation mastery is in the works so you may just want to wait for that. Yes item abilities do take away from your ability pool if they effect combat. plot based techs do not take away from tech pool. please post any spelling or grammar stuff you find in this thread. |
