lodeuwen was before the office of the taicho of the nibantai, Suì-Fēng. She was sure her presence and arrival had long been known to the captain. Blodeuwen would be disappointed if Suì didn't operate such a level of tight-ship espionage amongst the Onmitsukido. It was a wonder the woman could run a Squad and run an entire paramilitary organization. Though she supposed that it was entirely possible that the two overlapped significantly. She'd heard from Suki that Squad 2 was basically all admin work for the hopefuls who wanted to join the Onmitsukido. Imagine that, sitting the Gotei 13 entrance exams just to find yourself doing that kind of boring work. She sniffed. There had been boring work in the Kido Corps but it was mostly laid back. She had had a confirmation of this meeting via return butterfly. Her original message had read;
'Suì-Fēng Taicho,
I am requesting a meeting to discuss an occurrence which I think would be of grave interest to you. Please return this Jigokucho with a convenient time.
Grand Kido Chief Kidoshuu Soshi Blodeuwen Ab Mabon Hirashi
PS please excuse the experimental Jigokucho'
Blod had quite the sense of humour and as a result the Jigokucho in question had been one of Aoi's abominations. It was rainbow coloured and studded in rhinestones, and its wings shook a fine dust of glitter each and every time it flapped. She'd met the captain before only very briefly, when she dropped in on captains' meetings but had never spoken to her on an individual level before. But from what she had heard, she wasn't entirely sure Suì-Fēng was the type to appreciate such a joke. Ahh well. Either way, she dusted her dark purple Kido Chief outfit and ventured into the office, her chin held high and a small smile playing upon her lips. Her hands were clasped together, hidden by her sleeves and her hair was tied in an ornate bun, with several decorations in her hair. She bowed as she entered, the two bangs that framed her face slipping over her shoulders as she did so.
"Suì-Fēng Taicho. A pleasure." she said, once she had finished her bow.
If your comrade is being defeated, you should see it as an opportunity. Rather than standing in the way, you should stab the enemy in the back. And if the enemy is so far above your level that you cannot even manage that, then you should let your comrade die.
"Unacceptable!" The angered shout rises up into the morning air, a pair of furious eyes gazing upon a black clad individual upon their knees. At the shout, their head lowers, shame practically leaking from their body. There were numerous individuals, resembling the one upon it's knees, standing at either side reminiscent of a straight line of darkness. No words come from the crestfallen, as the iconic haori with the Second Division of the Gotei 13's logo upon it flutters in the light wind. The unmistakable Captain of the Second Division, Suì-Fēng, paces back and forth at a brisk pace. Both of her hands hold one another behind her back, and she knits her brows. Given the circumstances, Suì-Fēng was acting in the capacity of the Commander of the Onmitsukidou moreso than Captain of the Second, berating a member of the Executive Militia for an unknown reason. The other members of the Militia were stationed in front of their barracks, silently judging their at fault comrade. "Your mission requires you to act silently and rapidly, yet you've failed to do either one." The ice cold tone in the Commander's voice was all it took for any passerby to make the correct assessment that she, for lack of a better term, was royally pissed.
More information, only granted to Suì-Fēng herself and the Executive Militia officers standing before the pair, revealed that the one in question, tasked with the execution of a rogue Shinigami, allowed them to elude the assassination. Despite the best efforts of his fellow militiamen succeeding where he had failed, this did not absolve him of his sins. Hence the chewing out currently occurring. Ten more minutes of the berating passes, before the Commander is interrupted by a member of the Second Division. She rapidly raises a hand that signals the Shinigami to wait, without turning away from the members of the Executive Militia. Focused solely on the one who was finally allowed to raise his head, Suì-Fēng narrows her eyes threateningly. "Your failure has brought embarrassment upon the Onmitsukidou as a whole, and I will not tolerate a repeat. I have half a mind to remove you here and now, but I am going to give you a second chance. All of you, dismissed." Each Militia member disappears into what little shadows remain, the sun hanging a decent amount up in the sky, as Suì-Fēng turns toward the Shinigami of the Second.
Now here Suì-Fēng sat within her office, elbows upon the table and face pressed against her hand. Both of her eyes remain narrowed as she thinks over the events that had transpired prior. The Hell Butterfly that had arrived soon after the Shinigami had left, reporting on an unrelated matter (Something to do with Oomaeda), caused her face to twist into one of pure annoyance. Today was not a day where she happened to be in a good mood, and having the Jigokuchou made a mockery out of wasn't helping matters. On top of everything else, the Kidou Corps Commander wished to have a word with her. What could the head of the Kidou Corps want from her? It was odd, at least in her mind, but addressing this matter was her duty as a Captain. Plus, she could kill two birds with one stone and finally have a proper meeting with the Commander herself. Having only heard of her (and even then, what she knew was scarce), it'd be a lie to say that Suì-Fēng wasn't curious.
At the entrance of the Chief, Suì-Fēng raises herself up from her seat and steps out from behind her desk. Upon Blodeuwen's bow, so too did Suì-Fēng in a respectful response. "Good afternoon, Commander Hirashi." Her tone has taken a noticeable change since she had been addressing the Executive Militia, a mixture of grace and respect flowing off her short words. As she raises from her bow, a small motion gets performed toward the chair opposite her own and she moves to seat herself back down. It isn't until she seats herself once more that she notices a few loose papers spread from left to right, which she makes a rapid effort to deal with. Once that light bit of paper shuffling ends, her elbows go back to resting upon the desk and her face presses against her gathered hands. "Let us get directly to the point of your visit, Commander." Her piercing gaze threatens to strike a hole right through Blodeuwen's own as she studies every last whit detail of her expression, preparing to study the tone of her voice as well as any body language.

mm, very formal indeed. She even stood up. It was like being a kid again, back at the castle all those centuries ago... Jee, who'd have thought people would be treating her like a princess again? Well not exactly a princess but same difference. She smiled sunnily as she was greeted. Captain Fēng was every bit as precise and graceful in her movements as Blodeuwen had expected her to be. She indicates that Blodeuwen is welcome to sit. A woman of fewer words, perhaps? She'd heard that Captain Fēng had a fiery temper, however and so she didn't exactly count on that. Blod herself was more easy going except- well these days it was easier to get on her nerves. Especially if your name was Misato and you needed a quick slap to sober you up slightly. Blodeuwen was about to begin but then both she and Suì-Fēng noticed the papers on the desk. She sat, a finger raised in the air, her mouth open as if to launch into a sbiel, when the Captain decided to clear up the paper. It was a good idea, and Blod retracted her index finger, lowering her arm and shutting her mouth, pursing her lips as she awkwardly paused while the papers were rapidly put away.
She pulled her hair out of its bun, letting her long golden locks swing freely from her head as she did so, just to keep her hands busy, mostly. Luckily it was a fairly efficient bit of administrative work; Blodeuwen noted the Captain's firmness in her actions. This one knew what she was doing, evidently. Blodeuwen wanted to re-assure her that it was all right, her desk was usually a cluttered mess even worse than this but she thought better of it. It was after the clearing had been done that the Taicho leaned forward, elbows on desk (Blod's hands were in her lap, her pretty fingers twiddling in a fidgety manner) and asked her to get to the point. Blodeuwen was struck speechless for a second, and pulled a face which was a mixture of incredulousness and confusion. Though it wasn't angry or upset or anything, in fact she looked like she was on the verge of laughing, almost.
"Uhh, yes. The point. Right. Uhm." Golly that was such an intense stare. It was the equivalent of people who gripped your hand really tight when they shook it. Her eyes sparkled back, their pacific blue awash with joy. "Ahh. I come bearing troubling news I'm afraid. Well. This news is to do with the "recently deceased"," she mimed the quotes in the air, "shinigami Vanessa Vårjen. She was a transfer to the Kido Corps from the Second Division; her Zanpakuto leaked reiatsu all over the place, so she wasn't exactly fit for espionage, but it made her good with the Demon Arts, you see." Blodeuwen informed Suì-Fēng, in an attempt to jog her memory. Not so much joy in her eyes any more, as she relayed her serious tidings. "I'm not sure if you were informed but she was killed in the field some six months ago." Blodeuwen explained.
If your comrade is being defeated, you should see it as an opportunity. Rather than standing in the way, you should stab the enemy in the back. And if the enemy is so far above your level that you cannot even manage that, then you should let your comrade die.
That look on her face... Where had Suì-Fēng seen it before? A few new recruits who weren't used to such a severe, duty bound leader had let out a few choice snickers when they saw just how intense of a gaze Suì-Fēng held. Those recruits, unfortunately, did not last very long before they transferred out of the Second Division of their own volition. When the Commander spies even the slightest hint of confusion on Blodeuwen, her gaze immediately tightens. Of course, that would only make it even harder not to bust up laughing. Primarily due to the issue she had dealt with this morning, Suì-Fēng was hardly in the mood for anything that could classify as 'goofing around', especially when dealing with meeting a Commander of an organization not under jurisdiction from the Central 46. If Blodeuwen was listening close enough, she might even hear the sound of the Captain's teeth clenching. A sound that disappears as quickly as it had come, as soon as the Commander of the Kidou Corps begins speaking.
For a while, all Suì-Fēng does is stare in silence. Slowly, she shifts her hands down off her mouth and rests them, one holding the other, upon the table. Every last word that slips from Blodeuwen's mouth is listened to and registered, a few thought processes coming and going as she enunciates every word. Should Blodeuwen be paying close enough attention, she'll witness the cogs beginning to turn in Suì-Fēng's head. As serious as she was, she's unable to hide the uneasiness and frustration from creeping onto her face. It's blatantly obvious this news upsets her, but she does her best to try and play it off. As to be expected, that fails miserably. The joining of her hands tightens and her entire body tenses up.
"I know of Vårjen-san... but how is that possible?" The lack of information frustrated her. She was no longer the Captain's problem, for sure, but still... was there a reason as to why she was not informed of their supposed death? Anger sets within her eyes, and Suì-Fēng makes no effort to try and hide it. "Do not mince words, Commander. I am well aware that the looking after of Vårjen-san falls onto your shoulders, but as the Captain of her former division, it would be a lie to say there is no responsibility on my part." If the events that had transpired were due to Vanessa's transfer, then the Captain of the Second Division would surely have some fault. There's a slight adjusting of her posture as Suì-Fēng continues. "What exactly became of Vanessa Vårjen?" Suspecting foul play, Suì-Fēng narrows her eyes a bit more, now hanging on every last successive word from Blodeuwen Hirashi.

y Suì-Fēng's tight gaze and stern face Blodeuwen could tell she wasn't really in the mood for her light-hearted banter. Ahh. She was just as serious as they had always said. Well, it was true that Blodeuwen had come to break some harsh news to the taicho, so maybe she should take the situation as seriously as it warranted. But she didn't want to. Telling people subordinates have died- it was tough work. It was hard on her soul. And so Blodeuwen at least tried to share a smile. But it seemed that as Suì-Fēng listened, she was going to be upset. Blod saw the exact moment she worked it out, but finished anyway. The taicho sternly demanded to know the rest of the story; it sounded dangerously close to a command. A single blonde eyebrow ascended behind Blodeuwen's fringe. She blinked once, slowly, before drawing breath and sighing.
"There was a... Situation, roughly six months ago, and as a result of a mission Vårjen-san had been sent on, she had been hollowfied by a rogue hollow. The official line is that she was then purified." she was sitting atop a fair amount of information had been declared classified by the Central 46. She still didn't have clearance to inform those not involved with the Holer Crisis about the events that transpired, but it was likely that all captains would be informed about the updated sentence that had been handed down recently.
"As such the Vanessa Vårjen known to us is no more; she is killed. However... This is not the entire picture." one of Blodeuwen's elfin ears twitched slighty as she said this. "Following her hollowfication, Nessa was in fact sealed into a gigai, which locked away both the hollow which had formed in her inner world, as well as all of her shinigami powers. She was then allowed to live out a mortal life in the world of the living, where death would spell reintroduction into the cycle of souls, ridding her and us of the problem permanently." She explained, before taking a deep breath. The taicho would probably be able to see where this was doing. "Unfortunately I hadn't anticipated that a being would attempt to remove Nessa from said gigai. The seal's power was directed at keeping her inner hollow locked away, and as such, it was easy for a shinigami to break the seal at which point the hollowfication process began again. A visored kidnapped the hollowfying Nessa, and that is the last we have heard from her." Blodeuwen explained carefully, watching Suì-Fēng's face carefully for a reaction.
If your comrade is being defeated, you should see it as an opportunity. Rather than standing in the way, you should stab the enemy in the back. And if the enemy is so far above your level that you cannot even manage that, then you should let your comrade die.
Being a Captain of a division, on top of being the Commander of an entire collective force, meant that you had to field a variety of different things per day. To many of Suì-Fēng's subordinates, she was void of emotions, a perfect soldier in Shinigami form. That was the mask that she wore in public, and what was driven by the betrayals and pain that lied deep within her heart. In reality, it was heavy. Draining. Deaths of those that were meant to be under her command were sometimes too difficult to swallow, and it killed her. It was never easy to hide every last bit of discomfort that she felt upon hearing this news and, much like the current situation inside of her Division's headquarters, there are subtle physical cues to show it. A tighter clench of her hands, a rougher knit of her brows, her almost eery silence. The kidnapping... would it have occurred if Nessa had stayed a Shinigami underneath her command?
Suì-Fēng's hands splay down against her desk and narrowed irises threaten to drill holes into Blodeuwen's face. "Allowing her to live out the life of a mortal was a drastic mistake, but not being able to inform the Onmitsukidou from the very beginning was a far larger slight." Anger sets in at full force in her tone, though it's not directed toward Blodeuwen. Something must have stopped her from telling the Captain, or perhaps she had just gotten this information. There were too many variables to dump blame on one singular Shinigami, even if she had less than positive feelings about the new(er) Commander. Upon a few seconds passing, Suì-Fēng lifts herself up out of her seat and faces one of the numerous, large windows within her office, gathering her thoughts together. One thing was certain to her, however...
"This is no longer your headache, Commander." With a small nod she turns back toward Blodeuwen, hands behind her back and holding one another. "Where you may have failed, we will succeed. This is far too large of a threat to leave alive." The possibility of cooperating with the kidnapper Visored to save an infected Shinigami was utterly absurd to her. Negotiating with what were essentially terrorists left a foul taste in her mouth and, after all... "The Executive Militia will hunt down and deal with these rogues." As if on cue, a Jigokuchō flies through the doorway to the Second Division office that was left unblocked and lands down on the Captain's finger.
A moment is taken to focus on the butterfly before her attention goes back to Blodeuwen. "If you have anything more to discuss, Commander, then I will give you more of my time." A tone of her voice comes out that would lead one to believe she saw Blodeuwen as nothing more than a nuisance before her hand lifts, the Jigokuchō attempting to fly out of the room and relay a message meant to bring members of the aforementioned Militia into her office. There were no orders on the butterfly just yet, as Suì-Fēng preferred to do such a thing with such heavy information face-to-face.

lodeuwen was quite empathetic, and while she may not have noticed exactly what about Captain Fēng's face it was that showed her that she was a little upset, she could see that her fellow commander was upset. Although she hardly even knew her, and despite Suì-Fēng's reputuation for callousness, Blod reached out and placed her hand upon hers, gently stroking her fingers in a gesture of motherly reassurance. No matter how long the two had sat in their respective positions, Blodeuwen was older by at least about a century and a half, and sometimes she couldn't help but show her age through little gestures like that. She felt the sting of the Captain's words; she seemed offended that the Onmitsukido hadn't been informed. That was understandable. Maybe if they'd known about anything that had been going on recently the Gotei 13 would have responded to the various threats that had been popping up in the human world. Suì-Fēng must be even more frustrated than Blodeuwen herself. One thing she was clear on though was that Nessa's hollowfication had not been on purpose. Her subordinate had been ambitious, sure but that wasn't something she would do. Blod was sure of it.
"Ahh Fēng-Taicho, I... Well I can't really paint you the whole picture. In fact the mandate from central government means I probably shouldn't be telling you even this much. I just thought you would appreciate it." she said, with a kindly, and totally honest smile upon her face. "But really had it not been for..." Blodeuwen trailed off slightly. "Had it not been for your idiot nephew?" asked Cariad, her zanpakuto spirit in her head, in a rare moment of outspokenness. "Uuh, had it not been for a really poorly trained shinigami trying in earnest to help, she would have remained perfectly innocent for the remainder of her life. Actually for things to turn out this way it gives us one ray of hope; she certainly didn't seek out the hollowfication herself." Blodeuwen said, withholding some comment about poor academy training these days.
Suì-Fēng got out of her chair and faced away, prompting Blodeuwen to pull her own chair back and cross one of her smooth white legs over the other while she toyed with the flower and other various clips and pins in her hair. Wait what? She wanted to hunt them down and kill both of them!? Uh-oh, maybe she'd got the wrong idea for why Blodeuwen was here. She stopped in the middle of adjusting one of the white ornaments on her bangs, her head still cocked slightly. She had remained speechless as the taicho had summoned a jigokucho and dismissed her all in one fell swoop. Huh. That was an interesting power dynamic for her to observe. But perhaps not totally unexpected. As the butterfly flew from the room, Blodeuwen began to sing.
"Mae'n gystal gen i swllt a fy mywyd bach i Ceiniog i wario a cheiniog i swagro A deg i fynd adre i fy Ngwenno bach i."
Her voice was pure and lyrical, and as she sang, the Jigokucho seemed to divert its course to come and sit upon her hair. She knew the butterflies well, as it was Aoi's job to breed them. There were a few songs that Blodeuwen could sing to get them to do what she wanted, and this was one of them. It was a simple command; the Jigokucho just came and settled upon her hair, pulling its wings up and only flapping them slowly, indolently. It would not leave from that spot until Blod commanded it. A little while later, another Jigokucho who had been close by would come and join the first upon Blod's head. As she continues, the occasional extra would join them.
"Hold on." Blodeuwen smiled sweetly. "There are more executive orders." she said, retrieving a scroll from within her purple Kido Chief robe and placing it upon the table, rolled out. "Vanessa is to be captured, alive, and placed on trial before the Central 46. I do hope that the militia will explain the situation to Vanessa, when they find her of sound mind." Blodeuwen wasn't going to senselessly anger the captain by implying her militia wouldn't be able to find her subordinate. "As for the visored that kidnapped her... I would advise against sending your subordinates after him. His name is Hidane Asuka Koga." Hidane had a bit of a reptuation but she wasn't even sure that Fēng had been a captain when he had defected; it was very unlikely she'd ever heard of him. "He is stronger than all but the strongest captains. I have met him before and he has turned himself into a terrible monster. I would have dealt with him myself had..." she recalled the night that she saw Hidane in the human world, surrounded by Holer hollows, Holes pouring more and more of them out. When Seran had come to retrieve him, Blod had just been glad that someone was stopping him causing any more damage so she could deal with the damned Holes. "...had the aforementioned 'Situation' not made it the least tactical move at the time. I've no idea who he's associated with but I doubt he would take kindly to capture. In all likelihood, you would be wasting what I'm sure are well trained soldiers." she said, as a Jigokucho landed on her nose. She crossed her eyes to look at it and giggled, gently blowing on it to get it to flap up to her head where there were four or five of them now.
{Contents of Scroll}"If she's a hollow, she is to be eliminated by all means, swiftly so. If she however provides being in a right mind. She is to be captured. And Central fourty six will judge whether or not she is beneficial to the gotei thirteen."
"However, if she proves any less than favourable, Vanessa will be executed with immediate effect. And without any form of trial."
