Where had the time gone? Lunanelle sat upon her swing alone, calmly drifting back and forth like the tides. Inside her body, her power did very much the same. She had grown accustomed to the feeling of being pushed and pulled, the threat of her power ripping her to shreds. It was what let her know that she was alive, that she was... someone. Without her power, the threat of being swallowed by something bigger, she'd cease to exist. Even if that bigger thing was herself, she required it to be there. It made her whole.
Crystals as pure as freshly fallen snow covered the ground beneath her. Her reiatsu could not be controlled, rather wouldn't reign it all inside due to her own fears. If what lied inside was so great, she didn't want the cup to run over. It even comforted her, reminding her of times long past that she could never fully understand. Although comforting, anything with any ability to sense spiritual pressure would notice her from miles away. The young girl dressed in a purple school outfit. The lonely child in the park, a distant look in her golden eyes.
The cold kissed her skin, warming the heart she wished to never stop beating. If nothing changed, she wouldn't complain. A contented sigh as cold as the winter wind passed her lips. Perhaps those that could challenge her were truly rare. Thinking about her recently healed injuries brought a slight smile to her face, but she knew not why.
Coming here was foolish. But Liam being the ever inquisitive fellow he was felt like he should at least investigate. Despite the Reiatsu being some level above his own. It didn't feel overly hostile. In fact it actually somewhat reminded him of his old friend Fryst. Nothing malevolent. Just simply there, a force of nature like gravity or sunlight. Irresistible and powerful, but certainly not out to get you.
He'd be safer at home, if he hadn't been on the other side of the city with the park being the quickest way back to his abode, chances are Liam would never have come here. Not only was it too damn cold. But even if the Reiatsu didn't feel hostile, he was better off avoiding it anyways. But that damn curiosity of his drew him forward like a moth to an open flame. Casting away common sense to investigate something that caught his interest.
He wasn't sure what to expect. Some roided out Arrancar beast? Another ethereal beauty like Fryst? A snake like Yaksha? Certainly not a rather lonely looking little girl sitting on a swing. Such a sight was a scene plucked straight from a horror movie. Something cute and innocent looking to lure in unsuspecting victims before they were devoured. A theory that the cynical part of Liam's mind was fully willing to go along with.
....But one couldn't be cynical all the time. And chances are that with a Reiatsu like this, company wouldn't exactly be far away. He could probably survive for a few moments if things went violent.
So instead he stepped out, right into the open in front of the young girl. A small smile on his face as he gave her a friendly wave. "Hi there." He greeted, voice as friendly as the smile on his face. "Bit of a chilly night out isn't it?" He gestured to one of the empty swings beside her.
He was sensed long before he arrived, along with the few others scattered around the area. It wasn't as if he were broadcasting his spiritual pressure for all to sense, but he wasn't exactly taking the precaution to conceal it. All it took was a disruption in the air to signal that someone was approaching, but who?
Lunanelle looked up from the ground. There stood a young male, orange hair, and a friendly demeanor. His wave and the way he stood said he was afraid of her. As such, she immediately lost interest in him. His question fell on deaf ears. If she were to answer him, he wouldn't understand, but she preferred the cold. The temperature was always lowered around her as it was. It was an accepted biproduct of her bleeding reiatsu. The slight smile she had faded, and she absentmindedly swung her feet. Should he join her, she did wonder if he be able to withstand her presence.
Eventually, her curiosity got the better of her, and she looked up to him. With a blank expression, she nodded. There was no more to her response, only a simple nod for him to interpret any way he felt.
Well. This one wasn't a talker by any stretch of the imagination. But at least she wasn't trying to tear Liam's head off for simply being there. It was always refreshing to meet spiritual beings that didn't try to kill him on sight. It did wonders for his stress levels. Slightly creepy child or not, at the very least Luna was far more civil than an organisation that would attempt to put her down for being a monster.
"Thanks." He chirped, already moving to sit down on the empty swing next to her. His weight causing the leather seat to sag slightly, having not been initially designed to fully support someone of Liam's size and weight. This was a park for younger kids after all. And while he could fit himself on the swing, it wasn't really built with a teen in mind. It was a bit of a tight fit.
"Sooooooo. The name's Liam." He chimed, lazily drifting back on the swing. Letting his body slowly sway back and forth as he studied the curious childlike Arrancar in front of him. "Can I get a name from you?" Such a quiet little thing. Liam had felt her Reiatsu in town for quite a while before now. Just sitting here for hours. It would be a lie if he said he didn't find the girl intriguing.
So why not give her a little poke to get a reaction? Possibly very dangerous. But what was life without some risk?
As one hand gripped the chain of his swing, the other was free to weave the Reishi in the air to a familiar shape. A series of thin translucent wires sprung from the fingertips of Liam's free hand. Darting behind and wrapping around the chains of Luna's swing. If the little Arrancar showed no discomfort. The strings would begin to slowly pull back and then release. Setting the swing off in a gentle rocking motion. Occasionally pulling at the chains in order to keep up momentum.
{Spoiler}Name: Silver Binding Class: Reishi Tech Tier: I-III Type: Offensive/Binding Range: 20 Meters Description: A technique created by Liam created as a stand-in for Silberdraht. With this technique he creates a series of silvery wire (changing from sharp to dull at will) made from pure Reishi. He can create either a wire from each of his available digits, or a long ribbon from each free limb. The technique travels at Bala/Half-Bala speed and can be used to slash, whip or bind targets.
She followed him with her eyes as he approached the swing next to her. He didn't appear to care about the crystallized reiatsu he walked over. It was mostly harmless, as in she weren't attacking him. It was mostly to her understanding that people were affected differently by her reiatsu. She looked over him even more curiously as the snowfall of her reitasu fell over him. Hmm... she mused to herself.
He introduced himself, and in reflex, she did the same. "Lunanelle," her voice was soft as the falling snow. It gave her the appearance of someone more timid, but the way she stared at him said otherwise.
Her eyes narrowed on him when she sensed the manipulation of the energy around them. She didn't tense, she didn't move to defend herself, there was no reason. She merely watched Liam create something that wrapped around the chains of her swing. When she began moving on the swing, there was but a moment of panic. Her body jerked as she caught her balance. Eyes shifting to the moving chains, then to Liam, she pondered the purpose of his action. More specifically, she pondered how exactly he was moving her. Lost in thought as she may have been, she recomposed herself instantly after the moment of panic, and continued with her blank expression.
Just a couple weeks living in Japan and- No, well, ok, she always knew about the spiritual power of this place. There was a reason that Soul Society so closely resembled Japan circa some centuries ago after all, but still that-!
Ok, ok... Caitlyn was in the middle of her work, blood painting her furry teddy bear paws as she worked on maintenance for her corpse body when a new reiatsu signature appeared lighting up her senses like a second sun. Unlike others more experienced with spiritual matters she couldn’t tell anything about the reiatsu’s owner. At best it just seemed Hollow adjacent. Other than that, the power was so much stronger than her own that trying to find out anything else was like trying to understand a mural painted on the wall when your nose was an inch away from it.
Caitlyn couldn’t ignore it. It might just be a borrowed life that she was living, but it was still her life damnit and she was going to protect it!
With a quick flurry of stitches she sealed up her work for the day and transferred back into her corpse body. The stitches hurt and she still couldn’t move her limbs like she’d prefer but that was okay since she had no intention of remaining in this body for long.
Her workshop was a small shed out the back of her house originally meant for gardening. It was a luxury in space conscious Japan, but after her family moved here she quickly claimed it for her own and in no uncertain terms established that no one else was allowed in. Her family was used to it by this point, but it still didn’t pay to be incautious.
Caitlyn set the bear soaking in the little sink set up in the shed and cleaned up the blood as quickly as she felt comfortable doing so. Then, she picked one of her little “secret weapons” down from the shelf.
It was a taxidermied crow. Bit of an odd hobby for a teenage girl, true, but useful for a mod soul.
She transferred her pill, her soul and her true self, to the bird and took wing, flying out of the shed’s window.
It didn’t take her long to find the source of the disturbance, a little girl sitting all alone on a swing. Caitlyn knew better than most that appearances didn’t matter, or as she liked to put it, “Bluh, bluh, fuck appearances,” and the ice that started forming around her supported this.
Caitlyn didn’t know what this girl’s game was but she couldn’t just leave her alone. Instead she settled down to watch her, roosting in trees, pecking at the ground, and doing other bird stuff.
Nothing happened, and after a couple hours she was getting bored enough to give this all up as pointless when somebody new showed up.
Caitlyn snapped back into her bird-sona ‘Caw, caw motherfuckers,’ and kept watch while pretending to peck at the ground.
This guy… He had to just be a pedo or something right? There was no way someone spiritually aware would just casually approach such overwhelming power right?
Should- Should she interfere? Try to save him?
[Yes] her programming returned immediately. Here was a human in danger from something that, if not a hollow, then close enough. Her first instinct was to fight, throw her life away even if it was meaningless since there was a human in danger. However, you don’t survive for 100 years on the run from Soul Society if you’re a slave to your instincts.
Caitlyn clamped down on those feelings and continued to watch. Should the girl turn violent, THEN she would move.
While he didn't outright laugh at the brief moment of panic Luna showed as the swing began to seemingly move itself. But his smile did widen a smile bit. It was certainly an amusing sight. Despite her previously cold exterior. There was something alive inside this young girl. Hell, he'd managed to get a name off her. That was certainly something considering she barely reacted to him at all before. It wouldn't be long now before he cracked that shell of her's!
"Its nice to meet you Lunanelle." He greeted back, just as softly. His wires still gently pulling and pushing at the chains in order to keep her momentum going. There was no real reason for doing so. Yet he did it anyway. He was unwilling to sit on a swing and see them unused for some odd reason known only to himself.
Taking a moment to pick up some speed for himself, Liam began to swing that much faster. Partly out of his own enjoyment and partly to show Lunanelle what these swing's purpose was. "Soooooo." He slowly drawled as he continued to swing back and forth. "What brings a little thing like yourself out here so late?"

He slowly drawled as he continued to swing back and forth. "What brings a little thing like yourself out here so late?"
Swinging was... nice. Memories of spending days lazing about on a swing came to her. Even in those memories, she was mostly alone. No, there were others around. Friends? Did she have friends? As far as she could remember, there wasn't a soul she could claim to be a friend. There were some, very few, that she felt a strange attraction to.
His question brought her out of her memories, and she looked at the ground moving beneath her. How could she answer it? She wasn't little, nor was she out very late. In context, she didn't have a curfew, and it wasn't as if she had anywhere in particular to be. Then there was also the fact that he wouldn't be able to understand her. Saying names were fine as they translated to any language, but other words had their meaning lost. Instead, she pointed to the swing she was on. Hopefully he would understand just that. All she intended to do was relax in the park. Actually using the swing was a welcomed change. With her gesture made, she returned her hands to the chains. She hadn't realized, but her concentration on her reiatsu loosened. As more of it bled out, the pressure in the area increased gradually, and the snowfall picked up it.
Gwen stepped out of the garganta, some distance away. Let's see... She scanned the area with her pesquisa. Modified soul, inhabiting the body of a crow. What looked like... Uch, a quincy. She did all she could to avoid letting out a hiss. And yes of course, she was there. The real fucking deal. The blonde arrancar was more than a little excited, truth be told. Ordinarily it was hollows alone on her radar, but this particular specimen could either be great food for The One but preferably, they would be able to help Gwen find more souls, help her give it more and more strength.
She entered the park, walking straight through the fence surrounding it, the metal shearing and twisting out of shape. Gwen did not hold back her reiatsu like Lunanelle. Instead she used it to pummel her way through the world. However once she was through the fence, she kept it contained, so that its only indicator was the waves of heat that came off her, causing the air to stir slightly. The redhead quincy she could afford to ignore, realistically. The crow would steer clear if it knew what was good for it.
Thus, Gwen came to be facing Luna, several paces away, a warm smile upon her face. She wore her hair up in a pony tail, which tumbled over the high backed collar of her white jacket, with the selfsame trim all arrancar's clothing had. Her skirt had been swapped for a pair of baggy white gypsy trousers, backed by the tail of her jacket which fell to her ankles. In one hand she clutched a long staff that had seemingly been crafted from the bones of hollows. She spread her other arm wide.
"Hello, sister." she said, charismatically. Now she got to see closer, Luna was strangely demure looking, for an arrancar. She touched the horn-like mask remnant that poked out, only just visible above her ear, her waist-length blonde hair otherwise obscuring them, in a kind of confused gesture. Still, the girl in front of her did seem to be a strong arrancar... And she fit the bill of the stories Gwen had heard about a strange arrancar hanging out in K-town.
"Cant blame you there. You certainly picked a nice spot to think." Liam replied, easy smile still on his face. He continued to swing back and forth for a few more moments. Strings still active to continue pulling Luna's swing. Despite the fact that the little Arrancar could most likely take a nuke to the face and come out on top. Liam made sure that the swinging was gentle. He accidentally startled her last time. And while nothing came from it, he'd rather it not happen again and accidentally get a Bala to the face for his trouble. So for now he was content with simply enjoying the silence with a seemingly young girl. Absent-mindedly catching a few stray snowflakes of Luna's Reiatsu. Examining them for a few moments before discarding one handful of flakes and moving onto another.
Imagine his surprise when someone else decided to show up. A rather fetching Arrancar woman. Brazenly ploughing straight through a fence. Liam did his best to hide the frown on his face. This woman may be as good looking as Fryst was, but there was something about the wanton destruction of public property that got on his nerves. But he would ignore it for now. He could probably fix it at some point tonight if he got the chance.
Tilting his head towards Luna, Liam couldn't help but pitch a question."Friend of yours?" He asked, before diverting his attention back to Gwen, a smile that most people would describe as charming on his face. "If you're here to chat. Feel free to pull up a swing."
Lunanelle sensed the coming arrancar far before she came into view. Much like herself, whoever was approaching hadn't concealed the massive pressure they wielded. It did bring a few curious questions, though she didn't care to move from her swing. Just swinging was fun, and as long as the arrancar let her be, she didn't feel inclined to pursue it.
Her split focus on the approaching arrancar caused her to miss whatever the guy said. In truth, it didn't matter what he said. They could sit in silence for as long as he was pushing the swing. However, the arrancar apparently had other plans. As it utterly destroyed the fence around the park, Lunanelle turned to face them, watching their deliberate approach. They clearly wanted to speak with her, although they had not known each other.
A friend of hers? No, Lunanelle shook her head to the question. They weren't friends, and they especially weren't sisters. "Yna oui yh Espada?" She questioned the arrancar in her usual soft tone. She assumed they were long gone, lost to the times, unable to survive in the harshness of their home. It didn't make much sense considering what she knew of their power, but it was the most convenient reason she could give.

Gwen heard Liam ask Luna if she was a friend. She grit her teeth behind her smile. The fact that this girl was willing to associate with Quincy probably meant bad, terrible things for Gwen. That made her somewhat angry but her temper had been dulled somewhat by purpose of late. Whereas before she practiced a kind of frenzied, manic cruelty, she had receded, the energetic flame of her youth stilled to an ever hotter ember. Now she was a quiet sadist. Regardless if the two were actually friends, she had better not turn this person into a splatter. When Liam asked her if she would sit, however she couldn't bring herself to act friendly. She looked at him with cold dead eyes, contrary to the rest of her, those eyes had no warmth in them. She didn't even bother to respond, hoping that that look of utter emptiness would serve as warning enough: Gwen did not want to be trifled with.
The girl's response was mostly nonsense. A surge of disappointment washed through Gwen. She'd come all this way and it was a total wash- clearly she was some kind of simpleton or imbecile. But she'd said the word Espada... Could she possibly have been asking if that's what she was? That was an old notion. She had a brief flashback to when she'd seen Neliel Oderschvank in the desert with Roselia and began to wonder what on earth was happening to all of the powerful arrancar.
"Not an Espada, no." she said slowly, her face no longer smiling but instead cautious, and containing none of the coldness she displayed towards Liam. "Not that you would have to worry about an Espada if they came after you. I think they're all dead, anyway." she sniffed. "I've come to ask something of you. Do you understand?" a statement which was a question in and of itself. Her eyes flicked back to the quincy. Would he try and stop her? Ask her her purpose? Get in the way?
"Goodness me. And here I thought Luna was the frosty one." Liam drawled, already deciding to give Lunanelle a pet name and meeting Gwen's cold empty eyes with his own. Bright, alive, shining with amusement and utterly fearless. After all, with this much powerful Reiatsu in one area chances are that some other powerful souls clad in black robes will end up poking there heads around sooner or later. If a fight did end up braking out all Liam would have to do is survive for a few minutes until the walking superiority complexes showed up to wave their swords around.
But hopefully it wouldn't come to that. "She understands people just fine. But I've barely managed to get a peep out of her for as long as I've known her." Liam "helpfully" chimed in, still lazily swinging back and forth on his swing, never ceasing, smile still on his face as he watched Gwen attempt to parley with the little Arrancar that was far cuter than her.
"Hmmm. Dont think she's as friendly as I am Luna." Liam mused, deciding to dole out some "helpful" advice for one of the two present that seem to be a tad bit socially impaired. Of course Liam was no exception to this. He had his own issues when it came to interacting with others. But that was hardly relevant at this point. For now it seemed that he was content to simply sit on his swing and watch the ongoing proceedings.
Reaching into his jacket, a bar of chocolate was retrieved, breaking the candy in half, one part was shoved in his own mouth. The other offered to Luna. Partly as a gift to a potential friend and partly to see if it would distract her from answering Gwen.
There was some sort of animosity between her two guests. It went without saying, only shown in the way their eyes met, although the tension was palpable. Had they met before, or was it that neither wanted to seem weak in front of her? She never took sides in any conflict, though if she were forced to, the male was more pleasing to be around. He did treat her to the swing after all.
Then it also was revealed the arrancar was no espada. The limited curiosity Lunanelle had in her nearly faded in entirety. She may have been strong, but only the espada were on her level. More accurately, the espada were beneath her, though close enough to be considered a potential threat.
The male answered the question of her competence for her. She did understand everything, it was the others that couldn't hope to understand her. She also agreed with the male's opinion on her friendliness. Most arrancar carried themselves exactly as this one had. They were truly uninteresting. Fortunately, the male continued to supply her with things to hold her fleeting attention. He offered her what appeared to be some sort of food. The smell of it was familiar, though she couldn't place when or where she encountered it. Tentatively, she took hold of it, sniffed, then slowly popped it into her mouth. It was sweet, tasty, and quite enjoyable.
Gwen's face tightened into a grimace when Liam spoke. Gwen considered herself anything but "frosty", and her displeasure unconsciously expressed itself in the form of a sudden burst of heat in the air around her. She kept her spiritual pressure mostly checked but her displeasure at finding Lunanelle be not what she was looking for was frustrating. Luna still said nothing- what was wrong with her? Clearly she was broken somehow, mentally deficient. All of the spiritual pressure in the world wouldn't help Gwen if she wasn't capable of performing any beneficial tasks. She, like all else, would become fodder for The One, but eventually, when it was strong enough. Her own interest in her fellow arrancar faded and was replaced with mounting disappointment.
She was trying to think: what was her best next move? But the quincy kept speaking. He wouldn't shut up, all the while wearing that shit-eating grin. It would have been impossible for Gwen to care less about Liam and Luna's "budding friendship". She looked him over and figured that he was probably just a child-molester, after a piece of ass without quite realizing what Lunanelle was and the fact that she could flatten him with probably only minimal effort. She figured that the best move would be to return to Hueco Mundo and feed it- it was always hungry, and the more souls she gave it the closer it became to being perfect.
It was when Liam felt the need to make a comment about Gwen's friendliness that she finally snapped. She didn't particularly care about coming across as friendly- nor did she care what he thought of her, but open rudeness, that she could not stand for. She was standing just before them, she was but a step away; she stepped forward with speed, and no-holds-barred aimed to punch Liam in the face.
The only reaction Liam had to Gwen's attack was his head tilting forward and his Blut activating almost instantly. Months of reflex training from the Old Fart had raised his skill to this level. There was a crack of dispersed air as the abnormally dense fist met the supernaturally enhanced skin and bone.
Of course the fist won that clash. As strong as Liam was, Gwen was just stronger than him. Not quite on the same level as That Man. But pretty damn close. It normally would have been enough to send him flying, had he been caught unprepared. So instead he dug his heels into the ground and was simply sent skidding back a meter or two. The chains holding the swing aloft groaning under the force of Gwen's punch.
But Liam refused to give her the satisfaction of sending her flying. Instead meeting her eye with his own. Letting out a soft sigh, massaging his now throbbing forehead. That punch hurt. A lot. It was a small miracle that the skin wasn't broken, but there was little doubt that Liam was going to get a truly magnificent bruise for his troubles later on.
"Well that was disappointing." He muttered, raising his feet off the ground and allowing the swing to carry him back towards Gwen and Luna. "You lose your temper that easily to everyone? Or am I a special case?"
It happened faster than a blink of an eye. The arrancar's friendliness, or at least her calm composure, snapped at Liam's comment. Lunanelle arched an eyebrow, watching closely as the arrancar struck out. Her attack was swift, done at almost a blazing speed. However, it appeared Liam was able to react in time. She wasn't sure what it was, but something flared up the moment the arrancar's fist struck him. It was almost as if his skin was as thick as her own. That was impossible, he couldn't possibly be that strong. If he was, he surely would have shown it by then. All strong beings, sans herself, attempted to show they were above others. It often brought her to clash with them. Not because she flaunted her strength, but because she existed in at the top of the hill. She occupied the throne they wished to have, and refused to move.
Although she refused to move, Lunanelle didn't wish to be unopposed.
Lunanelle looked between the two of them, gauging who to challenge first. She didn't fear being injured by the arrancar's punch, so she had no issue with her striking first. It would also give her insight into how hard she struck Liam. She'd know if she could produce a more devastating impact, and if she should to get through whatever he used against her.
Reaching out to the arrancar's arm, she hoped to grab hold of her. By either using the arrancar's hand for the motion, or pointing to her forehead after gesturing to the arrancar's fist, Lunanelle would have her know of her desire. It was simple.

KUCHIKI BYAKUYA . Sixth division TAICHOU . HEAD OF THE NOBLE KUCHIKI CLAN YOU THINK YOURSELF MY EQUAL WHEN IN TRUTH YOU AREN'T EVEN CLOSE TO MY LEVEL [keepkeep]
Byakuya had never came to Karakura Town this often... However it seemed there was a massive surge in how many Vasto Lorde-level signatures there were, and these ones were far too powerful to be left unchecked. Byakuya simply hoped that Backup would come, not that he thought he couldn't, at the very least, drive them off. He ran through the Dangai as quickly as he could, until the Senkaimon Gate opened above the town. His eyes scanned quickly from left to right until he locked onto one... That wasn't even attempting to hide itself. It was powerful though, extremely powerful. Byakuya knew that it'd be a difficult battle, He knew that he probably wasn't going to kill this one. But regardless, it was his duty as a Captain to protect this realm.
Swiftly he entered his Shunpo towards the one signature, but as he got closer he began to pick up on more, Another Vasto Lorde-level signature, not as powerful as the one he initially picked up on but still extremely powerful. And another, much weaker, but still there. Byakuya kept his signature concealed as he neared, then he saw it... A human? No... Something about it was off but he couldn't place it, then he saw one of the Arrancarr attack him and the other one, the more powerful one, rose. Was she... Protecting him? This was all very confusing but Byakuya couldn't just stand by. They were threats, but he had to be smart about how he approached. If he wasn't careful then he could very easily be killed, Byakuya once more entered into his Shunpo and moved to appear behind the weaker of the two Arrancarr. Immediately upon leaving it lifted two fingers and pointed them at the weaker of the two Arrancarr. Intro Theme "Bakudo no Rokujyuichi, Rikujokoro"
Six beams of light would rocket out from his hand and latch onto the weaker one as his eyes stared at the other, she hadn't made an aggressive move against the weaker one, so he had theories he was aiming to test out. Byakuya said nothing else, instead his hand dropped to his side where his Zanpakuto rested. It seemed like the stronger of the two wanted to fight, but wasn't going to throw the first punch, if this was the case... With the weaker one restrained he could get a proper assessment of just how powerful they were... And if they were working together.
{Kido Used}Name: Bakudo #61 Rikujōkōrō (Six Rods Prison of Light) Class: Kido Type: Binding Tier: V Range: 30 Meters Incantation: Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six! Description: Summons six thin, but wide, beams of light that slam into a target's midsection, holding them in place.
Gwen's fists were hard. Harder than most anyone else she'd met. The quincy's head had been somewhat harder than she'd expected- almost like she had hit a weaker arrancar, instead of a human but the result would be the same either way. She reckoned he would wake with a concussion in the morning; she herself was unscathed from the confrontation. Gwen most likely would have reacted with a retort or more violence to Liam's attempt at snark, but something grabbed her attention. A shinigami. she hissed softly and focused- he was coming for them. It was a damned strong one too, stronger than most of them that she encountered. Luna grabbed her hand and guided it to her forehead and guided it to her head. Under other circumstances, Gwen might have realized what she was intending but she was distracted by the rapidly approaching shinigami. She looked to Liam with fear in her eyes for less than the briefest of moments, not entirely sure why she warning off the annoying being. She used to carry an intense burning hatred for quincy but ever since her religious awakening, and her manifestation of... The One They had seemed to be less problematic. Racial boundaries meant nothing, and absolute destruction seemed to be an almost cathartic end as opposed to the endless revival she was so desperately working to end.
She had been intending to run away anyway but it seemed like a bad move. The shinigami seemed to have finished assessing the situation and moved in closer, appearing right behind Gwen. It was aggressive and she felt the mounting reiatsu that came with an upcoming assault. She had been expecting him to come close, but not quite this close- this worked in her favour as she stepped towards him, focusing hard on herself, an aura of strength growing around her. She would likely not catch up to him in speed- he was fast, but she could close the gap somewhat in strength. It wasn't exactly as though Gwen was able to think this through, she was acting on pure instinct, assuming her offensive stance. As soon as he appeared, she stepped towards him as he incanted his kido- the few moments it took him more than sufficient to step straight past his arm; the kido firing off behind her, possibly entrapping Lunanelle or Liam, while Gwen assaulted Byakuya directly.
She aimed for his pressure points, bolstered in speed and strength beyond the appearance of her power, and with her offensive stance, she hoped to at least catch him by surprise. She was right close to him and attacked at pressure points in several places on his chest in a swift movement, hoping her strikes would land true and render him a little slower, a little weaker if only for a while. She severely hoped she could then escape this shitstorm through a garganta and not have to deal with any more. She did not want to tempt him into releasing his shikai or his bankai, if he had them but Gwen was sure that any shinigami of such strength would.
