Well, this situation escalated rather quickly. While he didn't recognize the face of the newcomer. He'd been told numerous amounts of times by the Old Fart to run like hell if he ever saw one of those white coats.
And run is what he did. Not very far mind you. As soon as Gwen vanished behind the Captain. Liam disappeared in his own blur as well. Reappearing to sit right on top of the swing's bar. Confident that Luna was more than fast enough to avoid the spell. Hell, next to the the Shinigami. Luna was probably the fastest one here.
"Kinda interrupting a private conversation mate." Liam called out as Gwen attempted to beat the living daylights out of the newcomer. But Liam was doubtful the attacks would connect. Whoever this was, he was fast. So fast that Liam didn't even feel him coming. Hell if it wasn't for the lack of any Reiatsu signature or obvious tell, Liam could have sworn the Shinigami teleported.
Of course he was hardly worried for his own safety. Luna and Gwen were the far more obvious threats. And if it seemed like the situation was going to end badly for him. He'd most likely either flee while the Captain was dealing with the two powerful Arrancar or lend a hand in order to endear himself to whoever was winning.
There was moment, only a moment, that Lunanelle picked up on something arriving in the area. It wasn't in the immediate area, but she felt the distinct reiatsu of a shinigami. It was faint, possibly a shinigami fleeing to report what they'd witnessed in the park. In any event, she didn't pay it much mind. She was far too intent in her testing of the arrancar's strength. More so, she wished to know where her own strength lay in comparison to them. However, the arrancar looked fearful of the fleeting blip on the radar. Unable to fully sense what, if anything, was coming, Lunanelle didn't sympathize. Instead, she tapped her head again, once more issuing the request to strike her.
It was at this time the shinigami showed itself. The sudden movement was easy enough to follow, but the shinigami was far quicker than anything she'd ever encountered. She was startled to say the least. The arrancar moved deftly, avoiding what was obviously meant to be a sneak attack from the shinigami. Without the arrancar between them, the shinigami's attack connected with her. Near immediately, she felt her body cease up. Her eyebrow arched slightly, puzzled as to what the magical rods of light were. After a few seconds, she attempted to move, but found it was nigh impossible to move as usual.
Just what were the things sticking out of her? They caused her no pain, though they affected her completely. It wasn't something she could brush off. No, if she wanted to move, she'd need to force herself free. The shinigami now had her attention, and she watched closely as it fended off the arrancar.

KUCHIKI BYAKUYA . Sixth division TAICHOU . HEAD OF THE NOBLE KUCHIKI CLAN YOU THINK YOURSELF MY EQUAL WHEN IN TRUTH YOU AREN'T EVEN CLOSE TO MY LEVEL [keepkeep]
The response from the Arrancarr's had only validated what he had thought, though the weaker one was his target she had, somehow, managed to react with some rather exceptional speed. It caused his Kido instead to target the stronger one, not what he wanted. However the weaker of the two Arrancarr had tried to move closer to him and attack... A mistake on her end. While her movements weren't sloppy or slow by any means, Byakuya could easily read them and as she appeared Byakuya vanished to reappear behind her. She had exposed herself by trying to attack him head on, As she tried to attack in front of her his Zanpakuto came up to strike across her back in an upwards slash from her lower left hip to her right shoulder. He kept his attention on the other Arrancarr as well however, he wasn't going to drop his guard to either of them. The human, who now seemed to be friends with these two, had moved further away. However he was a non-factor, by comparison he was merely a fly in terms of strength.
He did notice that the other Arrancarr was more being a spectator now rather than an actual fighter, she wasn't trying to break free of the Kido she was now imprisoned with but that didn't mean he could lower his guard. After his strike Byakuya would use his Shunpo to gain some distance from the Arrancarr, he wasn't expecting his attack to do any serious damage it was more to gauge the durability of her Hierro rather than inflict damage. With the previous Vasto Lorde he fought having some rather thick skin, he was wondering just how her skin held up in comparison.
{Techs in play}Name: Bakudo #61 Rikujōkōrō (Six Rods Prison of Light) Class: Kido Type: Binding Tier: V (Duration Remaining: 2 Posts; Cooldown After: 6 posts) Range: 30 Meters Incantation: Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six! Description: Summons six thin, but wide, beams of light that slam into a target's midsection, holding them in place.
The moment before her attack made contact, he had disappeared. There was now a cacophony of reiatsu behind her. She heard rather than felt the quincy's step. Maybe Lunanelle had gotten hit by the kido but Gwen doubted it- she was too strong for that indeed. Had the shinigami moved on to the others? It was then that she felt it; the steel of a blade rasping against her skin. Of course, such an impotent strike from a limp-wristed Shinigami could not cut her but she was a little miffed that he had damaged her outfit. The damned things didn't grow on trees. This was one of the few remaining ones from when Herr Aizen was resident in Las Nochas before his imprisonment by the shinigami. At least they had some sense, locking that madman up. All the same did the shinigami have to be such a predictable child, using flash steps to get behind someone and attack. Gwen was confident enough in her hierro that it was a technique she usually simply ignored because it kind of pissed her off. She wasn't exactly a blood knight or anything, nor did she care about fairness particularly but it just made her want to kill something.
Un-cut but annoyed Gwen bounced forward from the cut and opened a garganta before her, turning around as she fell into it, surveying the scene she was leaving behind, and charging a cero. It seemed Luna was indeed trapped; and Byakuya was about to approach her. Sad times for her, it looked like she was a gonner. Liam was sat above the bars. No skin off her nose if he died now she thought, before unleashing the cero as the garganta closed up behind her, not really caring if it hit anyone. In fact, it might have been just the distraction that the quincy needed to escape.
And right before his eyes, the situation devolved even further. He was surprised that the Shinigami was so willing to engage in such wholehearted combat right at the start. Not even sparing a moment to open dialogue, perhaps investigate that these two Arrancar were hardly hostile to humans at large. But Liam supposed that expecting anything resembling civility from the Gotei was a fool's errand.
How ironic that the creatures they considered beasts have been far more civil to Liam than the apparent guardians of the dead. It was especially surprising considering that Quincy clan's relationship with the inhabitants of Heuco Mundo could be considered to be even worse than the Shinigami.
As sad as it was to leave Luna alone, there wasnt much Liam could do in this situation. Maybe the little Arrancar would get the hint and leave like Gwen did, and Liam planned to.
As soon as the Cero was fired, Liam launched himself upwards out of the way of the blast. Hopefully the unleashed energy would be enough to weaken whatever spell that had bound Luna enough for the seemingly young girl to break free.
"Catch you later Luna. But I gotta run." Liam called out as he launched himself into the air. Sending out a farewell for his new friend(?) before shooting a glare in the Shinigami's direction before he vanished. His body transmuting into blue light before it streaked off into the distance.
"Thanks for attacking my friends you diiiiiiiccccck"
Name: Lightspeed Jump Class: Reishi Tech Tier: II Type: Supplementary Range: See Description Description: Utilizing the same principles of the Soul Warp technique, but bringing it to even further heights. This technique could be considered Liam's own version of the Kido spell Bat Out of Hell. Allowing him to travel up to a distance of 10 miles with a single use nearly instantly. However this technique can not be used in the midst of combat. Only for leaving and entering a fight in a dramatic fashion.
The shinigami was skilled as far as she could tell. He was able to fend off the arrancar's initial assault and it appeared to land a clean blow against their back, yet the attack did no noticeable damage. All arrancar's skin were tougher than iron. The stronger the arrancar, the more durable skin they sported. Lunanelle's own was like the hardiest crystals. If he was unable to damage the other arrancar, he had no hopes of harming her. The realization rapidly depleted her interest in him. If not for the bind he placed on her, she would have dismissed him in entirety.
Despite being the stronger of the two, the arrancar continued to appear afraid of the shinigami. A hastily opened garganta was their plan of escape. A cold sigh passed Lunanelle's lips. It was more of the same in the loneliness that was her existence. Just as the arrancar fired their cero, covering their tracks, Lunanelle ripped herself free of the bind. It took a considerable amount of force, though it was just above effortless in her perspective. Although she was freed, she didn't bother to dodge the cero fired in her direction. It would have caused damage to her park, and she didn't wish to wait for it to be repaired as it had in the past. Instead, she stepped directly into it, catching the bulk of the force with her body. The initial blast was much more than she expected, causing her a considerable amount of pain. Again, not much from her perspective, though she knew that she underestimated the arrancar.
With her swingset saved, she wandered over to it and resumed her resting place. This time however, she kicked her legs slowly, building up a slight momentum.
