The day was not normal as the boy looked to the sky reaching out to grasp hold of the moon, like a wolf pup not knowing where to go when its mother is gone. Wolves do not always know why they howl at the moon, but they know that under the light of the moon is a blessing that mere humans could never understand. The boy yawned and stretched out a bit as the sunlight began to shine inside his room as a note was near the entrance. The boy picked up the note which stated that he would be required to fetch someone called Shio from the first division to join the Kido Corps as he looked down.
"Why won't she let me play in the library, why must I be stuck fetching some new recruit" as the boy spoke to himself pouting before giving in to his calmer emotions and sighing. The boy got dressed in his full kidoshu outfit as well as putting on his customised mask that only had one major difference and that was the scarf like portion which was a result from excess created for the mask. He made his way to the first division headquarters as he stood there and spoke near the entrance after knocking.
The headquarters for the first division was...perhaps a bit neater than most, perhaps a bit more polished up, but the people in it seemed much like any other shinigami. As soon as Aoi stepped inside a few shot glances towards him, one or two leering in what could only have been poorly-concealed excitement at the notion that someone so unassuming could possibly be in such a prestigious position. One of them rose, scratching at his cheek idly as he approached, and then placing a hand on Aoi's neck, perhaps a bit more roughly than was necessary. His voice sounded professional, a bit gruff...but all in all, likely a man that it wouldn't have hurt too much to know or spend a day talking to.
"Shio? He's...yeah, I think I know the guy you mean. Don't think I saw him go out on a mission today. He's probably in his room. Reading up or boiling a bunch of tea or something. Don't even know what goes on in there, just know he always comes out reeking of strong stuff. I'll give him a call for you."
There was a faint bustle of motion as two other shinigami rose, one darting down a hallway in a spastic spray of limbs that looked much like it should've left him slapping himself in the face, but was oddly effective. He was down the hallway and around the corner in about two seconds, out of sight. The second shinigami approached to join the other, giving a glance that was...not quite angry, but perhaps a bit more exasperated than seemed appropriate. As if he were well aware of something Aoi wasn't.
"He's almost always in. He might need a few minutes to get down here, but he'll probably have a cup of something strong for you to drink if you're thirsty. We're not exactly the best company..." At this, another meaningful glance at the one whose hand was resting on the child's neck; this time it seemed to get through, convincing him to withdraw the grasp and scratch at his head sheepishly.
"But we're mostly good people. Who should we tell him is looking for him? Should any of us be worried?"
The man did something unthinkable as he approached and placed his hand on the small boy's neck as his eyes were the only thing visible he made a defiant glare as he felt an urge to kill this man for touching him with his unwashed hands. The man spoke of the guy being in his room boiling tea and a bunch of stuff. A strong smell, was this guy like those guys back in the academy dorms who always had this horrible smell before showers and a soapy mixed horrible smell after. He was not sure if it was cigarettes or what it was, but he was the only one who never got that smell. Aoi always smelt like flowers or something nice or a good clean soapy smell like a girl coming back from the spa. He smelt better then most girls since he just never got dirty too often or when he did get dirty he would take a bath right away.
The boy was flaring up and then this nice guy told the other guy to remove his hand from the boy's neck as he calmed down slightly, though he appeared more like a girl behind this mask. His girly eyes had a look so devoid of understanding for this strong drink they spoke of, since he just drank juices, milk and the occasional soda. He then answered them.
"I have a letter of transfer for Shio Mora, he must report right away. Oh, and please do not touch me with your dirty hands ever again" as the glare returned once more as he waited for the man.
There was a second of silence as the 'dirty' man's face knit into a latticework of muscle that spoke of impending violence, as if he were about to smack Aoi right across the face and watch him fall over. But a moment or two later, the slightly more reasonable of the two stepped between the two, crouching down a bit and meeting the short shinigami's face. His smile had turned just slightly more crystallized now, as if he was going a little too far off script, as if this entire situation was leaving him a little uncertain of his footing anymore. All the same, he seemed to rally quite well.
"A transfer. To where, exactly? Shio was very fervent about joining this division, you know. I'm not sure he'd be okay with you just trying to steal him away like that. He's a good man, and we'd all hate to see him go. So if you wouldn't mind telling us just who you are, and what you're planning on doing-"
He paused, his nostrils flaring ever so slightly, and his eyes growing distant and hazy for just a moment. He rose, running a hand through his reddish locks, and pointing towards the hallway. A moment later Shio approached, indeed carrying a cup of tea that was lazily spiralling off steam. The shinigami moved slowly, without any sense of hurry or excitement. In fact, given the way he was looking at a spot just below Aoi's earlobe, it was hard to say if he was even capable of being excited. His outfit did indeed seem to fit the traditional shinigami robe, but there were a few small adjustments made; chief among them, there was a fairly large piece of what looked like metal covered in leather strapped across his chest, giving him a look rather like a samurai.
He drifted down the hallway silently, a smile flickering across his face as he seemed to notice the messenger for the first time, lifting his free hand to his forehead and touching it before gently flicking it towards Aoi in a lazy gesture that may almost have been called a wave. He walked forward a bit closer, and he was just within earshot when the smell would've finally managed to leak beneath the mask. Shio's very presence seemed to bring with it an irresistible sense of warmth and comfort, a palpable aura around himself that settled nearly everyone present. Even the 'dirty' shinigami looked like he was ever so slightly mollified by the presence of his comrade. Shio moved slowly, cautiously, his free hand extending to probe around slowly, carefully. Finally it caught onto a chair's edge, pulling it towards himself and plopping into it in a smooth motion.
It wasn't that hard to identify the smell clinging to Shio, even if it hardly made sense coming from a shinigami. He smelled like a busy bakery, like a pastry chef had just opened the doors of one of his ovens. There was a sweet, faintly choclatey edge to it, but mostly it simply seemed to be a...doughy smell. Like he was carrying a tube of cookie dough on himself, or had somehow slathered it all over himself before coming out. He didn't seem to notice it, simply rested his hands in his lap and let the cup of tea rest on a crook expertly made by the crossing of his legs.
"Hellll-loooo~. I don't think we've met, but...well. My ability to recognize faces has gone down a bit lately. You are?"
The boy looked on unfazed by the nostril flaring and the intimidation as he was representing his division now, had they never seen the mask of the kidoshu before. As the cloth like mask just kept his face covered though his blonde hair stuck out a bit.
The man of spiralling tea walked towards them as he was once a fallen samurai from a time long since passed, looking for his master as he had been wandering around for years. Smiling the man raised his hand to gesture the young apprentice to learn under him as a student of the fine arts of. 'Shut up Kagami' is what he said inside his head as the narrative annoyed him to a great deal, though he actually found it funny he did not comment on it.
The man did so many unnecessary things before sitting down into his chair, the man smelt like bread and chocolate and even that he knew he had to avoid this smell cause surely beneath all these smells brought about by hard work, must be the smell of sweat and tears since if you were a baker you pretty much wasting your time when fruit tastes so good and meat is so tasty as well.
The man made a strange hello and then said he had trouble recognising faces as he sighed.
"You must come with me now, Shio-senpai. Also I am wearing a mask, if you could recognise me that would just be weird. Why is someone stupid like Shio-senpai..." He stopped himself as he glared before moving forward real fast and offering the letter of transfer like a grade school girl giving a love letter to the boy she liked. He wanted to get out of here as he did smell a hint of something strong, did these guys have something like Sake in here or was he just imagining things. He did not want to comment further he might have just been hallucinating at that point.
Shio tilted his head slightly, staring at the child for a few long, silent seconds. This one was...obviously a bit new at this. And clearly he hadn't been around much lately if he hadn't heard the stories. There were...what? Twenty, that he'd heard of? Everyone was curious about what he'd done. About what he -might have- done. And all of it revolved around that stupid woman, that wretched Kidou Corps woman that had kept -badgering- him. But he still couldn't find himself losing his temper, couldn't really find time for anything but faint surprise. He waved vaguely towards his face, even leaning forward so the boy could get a better look.
His face, especially around the eyes, was remarkably reddened, the skin there looking almost...rough. It was a very bright shade of pink and a few places here and there had small blotches that looked like they could've been bruises or very recently healed bleeds. All in all, it looked as if he'd just had a very hot cup of tea thrown in his face. This, however, wasn't the most interesting thing; his eyes, both of them, were covered in an ever so slight film, making it hard to discern the color beneath at a glance. They began to water as he placed his hands on his knees, trying his best to get a good look at the child in front of him, to make out his...form.
"A mask. Well, to me right now, -everyone- is wearing a mask so it's hardly any change. And I'm afraid reading is also a little bit beyond me just this moment, so...if you wouldn't mind reading it for me?"
He leaned back in his chair, letting the uncomfortable air grow just a little bit thicker. The boy had decided to step in here and start mouthing off immediately, and he couldn't begin to imagine what his comrades were doing right about now. That was the beautiful thing about being unable to read faces, though; he didn't have to imagine. He in fact couldn't have if he wanted to. First he would've had to imagine their faces in general, and that just felt like...such a waste of time right now. Best to focus on the words.
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I'm sure we could find someone else to read it if you prefer. But seeing as how you're already heeee-re~"
He very nearly sang the last words, before raising the tea cup slowly; on that front at least, he seemed to have no trouble reaching it. He took a long, deep sip, and seemed to stare at Aoi with those blank, sightless eyes just a bit too long to be comfortable. He hardly even blinked this time.
The silent stares, the ever judgemental eyes looking down upon the small boy. The boy only wondered if he was destined to be looked down upon. The man's face was a bit nicer up close then he thought, but it seemed a bit creepy to the small boy, as he looked at the reddened eyes as if this guy had been drinking way too much sake. He was a bit shocked that this grown man could not read as he felt the discomfort of the air as the man sat back, it was overwhelmed with a different look as tears nearly formed in the boy's eyes.
The boy was curious and not sure what the man was talking about then he proceeded to give the man a pat on the head. "It will be okay, we can just teach you to read and the letter is for you, but I just need to take you with me. For such a scary old man I thought you would at least know how to read, how do you ever learn any kido if you can not read any books?"
The boy was now speaking down to the man instead of up to him as his fear, admiration and respect were replaced with pitty, sadness and worry as he tried to console the man for his inability to read.
Shio had to pause for a second at this, his head tilting to the other side...and a few of his comrades could almost be heard snickering under their breath. If there was anyone that would make a better target than Shio, it was this little child. How could he not have noticed? Wasn't it obvious to everyone? Certainly none of them had needed more than a few seconds to notice that something was different with Shio. The eyes...those cataracts were quite familiar to anyone who had seen combat. And Shio's expression never changed, but he let the faint elation of knowing someone -else- was the center of ridicule give him some buoyancy for a few seconds. And then the horrible crushing realization fell down on him again. He was letting it happen all over again. However tempting it was to make this child feel some degree of shame or humility, doing it like this was no good to anyone.
"I'm perfectly capable of reading when I can actually see. I think right now my vision is something like 20-1000. I literally can't make out my hand in front of my face. Or your face in general. I am, for all intents and purposes at this moment, sightless. Now, if you'd care to continue with these hilarious misinterpretations, I invite you to do so in private, where none of my associates will feel tempted to make some inappropriate outburst. But seeing as how you're here on official duty, I might suggest you save us all some time and just read the letter. Out loud would be ideal, but I don't particularly mind if you read it yourself and then just tell us what it says. I give you my consent; I don't plan on getting anyone in trouble over tampering with the letter."
He heard the long lecture before sighing as he took out the letter and then looked around before sighing again. "I guess I could do that, but could we do this without those guys being around", as he pointed to the guys who were now just getting in the way. This was confidential or at least the contents of the letter were so even if he wished to read it out, he could not do so in front of the uninvited. He was sure that the man before him at least understood this much since the letter may include secret information that Shio would not want told to others. He still felt the man looked more like a brute from squad eleven then a potential master of the kido arts.
He held the letter firmly as he would await for Shio to understand the seriousness of the situation, though his child-like appearance even hidden behind the mask just gave the impression of a virgin maiden hidden beneath the veil of innocence. The boy was getting impatient as well as curious as to the blindness of the man, he had not seen people with eyes like this man had before, was the man really blind or was it a special technique where he shoots laser beams from his eyes.
For a split second Shio seemed put off guard by the child's suggestion. Yes, it was true that he had expected the boy to be a little dim at this point, but that suggestion was surprisingly insightful; especially given how quickly these people seemed to enjoy singling inw on whatever interesting little tidbit was going on and make it their own personal rumor mill. The words would find a way to leak through, of course; if there was one thing Shio knew about his division, it was that they somehow had a way of finding all the interesting tidbits and clutching onto them like a miser. He nodded ever so slightly, plucking up his cup of tea and draining the contents in a single motion, and then rising. He gestured for the boy to follow him, walking in silence for almost a minute, until he was reasonably certain there were no reaitsu signatures close enough to hear them.
"So why would Soshi Hirashi send you to speak with me? I understand she's likely very busy and can't spare time to speak to an unseated shinigami, but if she can spare a little time to deal with a simple hollow invasion, you'd think she could at least speak to me personally. I can't help but notice you've refused to identify yourself...twice now? Possibly more, if you were asked a few times before I got here. It's not really a very good way to deliver a message if you won't even identify yourself. I may have to lodge a complaint with your superiors, after all."
Now that they were alone, the slow and cautious motions seemed to be dissolving by degrees, leaving him walking down the hallways with the same ease as one who had done it for years, one who had already memorized in excruciating details the layout of his living space. He turned back towards Aoi, those empty eyes still clouded over, a few tears still escaping from the sides every once in a while. Shio's hands reached out ever so slightly, trailing over the walls for a split second as if reorienting himself, before he spoke in a low, weary tone.
"And what does she need from a humble man such as me? Is she hoping to blackmail me into private lessons, or something of that nature? Or does she just want to see me squirm while she writes up the official report, and requests I be court martialled? What wretched fate does Soshi Hirashi wish to place upon my head at this point?"
"I just know you were suppose to be joining, but I can read the letter to you if that will help"
He opened the letter then began reading it out loud enough to hear, but soft enough so that the walls would not have ears to hear.
""Dearest Shio,
Thank you for your assistance in eradicating the problem hollow we encountered some time ago. I was impressed by your competency in kido, and somewhat perturbed to discover that you had learned Hado 90 without the necessary permission from your squad. From what I understand from our encounter and subsequent investigations I have undertaken, you appear to be making a concerted effort not to draw too much positive attention to yourself; your superiors feel you have merely plateaued since your graduation from the shin'o academy; seeing you in action myself, I highly doubt this is the case. As someone also invested in furthering the spirit of camaraderie and the interests of the team (as it would be awful if you were withholding the power to help others in anything other than the interest of fair play, no matter how short-sighted that might be), I understand your trepidation.
It is for these reasons that I have submitted a formal request with the Gotei 13 that you be moved from your squad into the Kido Corps. You would be allowed, at least initially, to take the position of "Representative of the Kidoshu to Squad 1 of the Gotei 13" while you got settled with the kido corps. You would eventually then be promoted to a higher rank if you were deemed capable enough, and if not, you would be allowed to continue as an unranked member of the Kido Corps, performing our standard operational tasks and improving your kido during any down time. You will get a choice in this matter when it arises.
While exceptional for a member of the Gotei 13, your kido abilities are fairly standard for those of us here. It is not uncommon for shinigami able to perform kido in the 90s to remain unranked within our organization as we require strong spellcasters for even some of the most routine tasks we perform.
I sincerely hope you accept this opportunity, the Kido Corps would welcome you with open arms.
Blodeuwen Ab Mabon Hirashi Daughter of Hirashi House Grand Kido Chief Kido Soshi"
He looked at Shio with a sparkle in his eyes, but with no smile on his face since he had not learnt how to smile yet.
Shio had frozen in the hallway entirely, his hands balled by his side, and his shoulders squared off. He had expected the letter, certainly. He had expected...some sort of unpleasantness attached to this entire situation. But he hadn't expected her to try and sound so -nice- about the entire thing. He hadn't expected her to try and pretend that she understood what he was thinking. And most of all, he hadn't expected her to be so straightforward about all of this. 'Exceptional' for a member of the Gotei 13? Really? He had spent the first sixty years of his life trying to be 'exceptional', and all it had done was proven that the world abhorred exceptions.
He rose a hand slowly, not even bothering to turn back towards Aoi. They said not to shoot the messenger, but in this case he found himself sorely tempted. The boy was being remarkably unprofessional, and more than anything else he was -commenting- on the nature of the letter. What sort of fool did that? He breathed slowly, carefully...trying to calm himself. Trying to clear his mind, and prevent himself from doing something reckless. Clearly Blodeuwen was hoping to draw this out, to bait him into...something. Shio wasn't entirely sure at this point. All he knew was that he couldn't let this come to pass. He wasn't going to throw himself into the flames once again, now that he'd managed to turn the pan down to a reasonable heat.
"Thrice I ask and done. Tell me your name, Kidoushi. I'm in no mood for meaningless banter, or unwarranted commentary."
"Oh sorry, I am Aoi Sora, pleased to meet you", the boy was oblivious to what the man meant by meaningless banter since if what they said was meaningless they might as well be dead. He also was not sure about the commentary as it left him a bit confused as he tilted his head slightly as if deep in thought. The boy had performed his task or did he leave something out as he scratched his head a bit as a blonde fringe snuck out of the top of his mask.
"So you ready to come with me to meet Blodeuwen-dono?" As the boy stood there with some degree of excited look on his face, distorted by the lack of a smile as he was getting a bit restless. He felt like this mission was punishment for something, but he just could not figure out what it was and even though the man had talent how old was he and why did he have an eye patch. He wondered if the man was related to the other eye patch monster from the eleventh squad known as Kenpachi or was it Genpachi. He was not sure since that captain seemed to have a habit of doing things that made him seem more like a myth or a legend then an actual living breathing captain.
It took a second to register, but the faint miasma of tantalizing scents around Shio were changing, ever so subtly...and then less so. The faint, sweet smell of cookies browning in a pleasant heat stuttered and shifted, quickly turning into that of dough blackening into coal in an oppressive flame. And as Shio turned to glance at Aoi, as his spiritual pressure unfurled entirely, filling the room with a suffocating sense of weight, making it feel almost as if the entire place was being squeezed ever so slightly in a vice, even the doughy smell didn't seem all that notable anymore. It didn't even smell of charcoal anymore. Everything that Aoi's senses were alluding towards was impossible, was completely nonsensical, and yet it seemed to be happening all the same. It touched upon his nose before anywhere else, and yet its impact was oddly diffuse.
It was the smell of asphalt blackening under an oppressive sun. It was the smell of a dog that had been soaking in sunlight, only to let it out as a sort of gentle wave when it curled up next to you. It was the smell of an oven grate left on entirely too long. It was a smell never meant for the nose to register, but it did its job all the same, ringing the alarm bells in Aoi's head all at once. It was all of this and more; it was a hectic, living scent that battered its way into the brain and seemed to flip switches. There was nothing logical about it, nothing that could've been explained to anyone else. But to the young Kidoushi, in that moment, it was painfully obvious.
Shio smelled like fury. There was truly no other word for it. He smelled angry.
"The first reason being that I've -already- met her. It'd be a waste seeing her again so soon, before I can even get her face out of my head. The second reason being that I'm -not- part of her little club. I'm still in the Gotei 13, and she can't command me. So go back to Soshi Hirashi, and you tell her that until the Captain Commander himself signs those papers, until the very last minute of the very last day of my time to transition, I'm not going anywhere. I've got work to do here, and I have expectation to uphold. And I'm not going to waste time playing nice with the people who are trying so hard to ruin my life."
The small boy was getting a bit annoyed, he wanted to have time to go to the human world to try out that new videogame teknin seven so he could try out the new hundred hit combo with the special flash finish at the end. However he gets put on messenger duty for this grown old man who just keeps complaining and complaining like a little kid as he finally glares at the man before speaking. He even felt the man's reiatsu which was nothing special, did this guy think he was on the level of a seated officer just cause he maybe did one really cool kido by luck. Maybe the man did not even have the skills to use that which was mentioned in the letter as he finally got it in him to reply by sending an equally strong spiritual pressure as he then spoke
"You not a spoilt child, stop crying just because you not happy with moving to a division where your special kido will be nothing but ordinary. Ruining your life is stupid only you can do that"
As he sighed again before stretching.
"I got stuff I want to do too, and fetching a senile old man who thinks his someone special enough to decline an invitation from a superior just because it will ruin your life? Did you spend your entire life training and have no time to yourself?"
As he glared even more.
"You get to be in the first division and the kidoshu at the same time and you still feel you got the right to complain?! Stop playing the victim you stupid woman!!" as he felt happy using the lines he heard from a movie yesterday in the human world. Whether it was good to provoke this man was one thing, but if he was all about duty then right now having the man retaliate would make him a Hippocratic.
Shio's hands bunched once more, his face smoothing out. This child was...arrogant. Beyond arrogant, he was simply disgusting in his demeanor. How anyone like this could ever be considered anything but a failure, Shio would never know. There was just so much -wrong- with this entire conversation. How could the Soul Society allow anyone like Aoi to run around freely? How far had this proud institution fallen lately, for them to become so lax? Not for the first time, Shio felt his head pounding at the sheer venom of the thoughts trickling through his skull. It was just...impossible. None of this fit, none of this made sense. And this child, in this moment, seemed to represent everything wrong with the world.
"I'm not crying. I'm not complaining. I'm telling you; I will -never- join the Kido Corps. Whatever Soshi Hirashi plans for me will simply have to wait until she finds someone else. I'm happy where I am, and I'm not going to just let her mess with my life like I'm some toy. And even more importantly, I'm -never- going to consider you my comrade. I'd sooner die than work alongside you. Humans have a phrase, you know: Children should be seen, and not heard. And since I'm blind..."
He whirled about, his voice filling the corridor with the rich, flowing tones of one who was about to perform a particularly impressive feat, his hand flung outwards in a splay of motion. He was already bearing down on Aoi, moving at speeds that seemed entirely unlike his subdued shuffle up to now. Something in his gait had changed, leaving him looking like a predator finally flexing its muscles.
"Oh great King, seal thy opponent in thou great demise through fate!"
His movements didn't slow in the slightest as he spoke, five thick pillars of light forming, one from each finger; they shot towards Aoi at remarkable speeds, poised to pin him in place on the floor. Even as they were leaving his hands, Shio disappeared in a flicker of motion, only to reappear at a spot just to the younger shinigami's side, arm extending to loop around Aoi's neck and subdue him on the spot.
"I suggest you go do those other things right about now. Soshi Hirashi will wait. Until the end of the universe, if I have any say in the matter."
{Spoiler} Name: Bakudo #42 Saikin (Golden Restrain) Class: Kido Type: Binding Tier: IV Range: 50 Meters Incantation: Oh great King, seal thy opponent in thou great demise through fate! Description: An enhanced variation of Bakudō #1, Sai. The user fires five beams of golden light from one hand's fingertips that can bind multiple targets or multiple limbs of the same target. The downside to this Kidō is the fact that the user can't move their selected hand without diminishing or breaking the beams unless they are of Taichō class power, in which they would easily be able to move their hands.
The boy watched as the man became enraged and started spouting nonsense again as he was really beginning to wonder what was wrong with these adults. He said he was not crying, but you do not need tears to cry. He said he was not complaining, but the very actions he took were a complaint on their own. He wants someone else to fetch him, does this man have any idea what would have happened if they sent Nessa for this. He would have been either beaten to death or dragged away in a paper bag, but he seemed to think because Aoi is a kid that his actions are just childish. This whole situation was like a child's game to begin with from arguing for argument's sake to getting far passed the topic.
The man began a chant as the boy simply whispered the only lines he needed to. "Bakudo #26 Kyokko"
The chant was something he did not have the misfortune of having to deal with as the bindings formed the boy would vanish and simply flash stepped out of the way. The fact that he could not see would be one thing, but the fact that the boy's presence was now hidden as well meant the man was getting his wish. The boy passed by silently whispering.
{TECHS}Name: Bakudo #26 Kyokko (Curving Light) Class: Kido Type: Supplementary Tier: III Range: Self Incantation: Description: Hides the target from sight by bending light. This Kidō can completely mask the presence and reiatsu of the target from detection but if any other combat technique is activated, this Kidou is overwhelmed and broken.
Name: Shunpo (Flash Steps) Class: Stepping Type: Stepping Range: N/A Tier: I Description: A movement technique that allows the user to move extremely quickly over short distances. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. Therefore what determines the level of skill in a user for Shunpo is best characterized by how fast one can get from A to B in the least amount of steps.
Shio's attack didn't hit home; he could feel it almost immediately, could tell that the boy had managed to avoid it. And the mere words alone were enough to confirm his suspicions. But what the boy no doubt wasn't expecting was that his shunpo would give him away, especially in such a narrow corridor. The sound was beyond distinctive, the sort of thing that no one could really miss, and it gave away his presence nearly immediately. This time Shio didn't even waste time with a commentary, simply flinging his hand in the child's direction, and shouting once more.
"Bakudo #46, Inshitsu Chōchin."
This time the effects were far faster, and far more difficult to find one's way around. A thick greenish lantern formed around Aoi's head and torso, engulfing him, as well as rooting him to the spot; the reaitsu inside was far too dense, the sort of thing a person normally would've been hard pressed to even move around in. For one such as Aoi, it would've been enough to force him to his knees. His very body would've found it hard to escape the confines as Shio approached, ever so slowly, and placed his hands over the outside of the lantern.
"Don't look down on those you fail to understand. I have my reasons for what I do. If you wish to write me off as some petulant child, I'll just have to make you listen."

Description: The opponent is surrounded by a barrier in the shape of a green paper lantern, with openings above and below. At the caster's call, fire shoots into the lantern barrier from the openings, charring the one trapped inside.
Unincanted, acts as a tier II. My kido trumps your reaitsu control by one tier, and my technique rank trumps your hand to hand by one tier, so Aoi should be unable to escape or fight back for 2 posts. Equal character tiers, so no change there. Your step would normally cause your stealth technique to break, and would give away where you intended to land, anyways. Shio wouldn't have too much trouble tracking your movements in a narrow hallway, so he'd have little trouble being able to bind with accuracy.

KUCHIKI BYAKUYA . Sixth division TAICHOU . HEAD OF THE NOBLE KUCHIKI CLAN YOU THINK YOURSELF MY EQUAL WHEN IN TRUTH YOU AREN'T EVEN CLOSE TO MY LEVEL [keepkeep]
It could be said that today was a rather beautiful day for a walk, It could also be said that today was a rather distressful day. For Byakuya he had just caught wind of a rather large signature in Karakura Town near one of the first division Shinigami, Tachibana Meilin. To be specific, a Vasto Lorde level of power. This wasn't a matter to be taken lightly, in fact it was the sole reason Byakuya was in such a haste to get to the 1st division. He needed to inform the Captain-Commander as quickly as possible to assess the fastest course of action, a Vasto Lorde couldn't be allowed to go on a rampage in Karakura Town. Even with Kurosaki Ichigo there a Vasto Lorde was a threat to everyone and everything, It disturbed Byakuya quite a bit, actually, that one would be so brazen. As he neared the 1st division barracks, he left his Shunpo near to the entrance just as he heard something.
"Bakudo #26 Kyokko" "How about children should be heard and not seen"
Followed soon by another voice.
"Bakudo #46, Inshitsu Chōchin." "Don't look down on those you fail to understand. I have my reasons for what I do. If you wish to write me off as some petulant child, I'll just have to make you listen."
Byakuya's head lifted up to see two Shinigami seeming to have a fight with each other, He knew of one of them immediately... And such conduct was NOT allowed. It didn't take long for Byakuya to surge forth his Reiatsu, centralized on the two Shinigami that thought themselves bold enough to dare attack each other within the Soul Society walls... Neigh, At all.
"I will ask this once. Who are you two, and what makes you bold enough to attack each other within these walls?"
Byakuya held nothing back, He would ensure these two couldn't move a single muscle in their bodies. He didn't expect an answer, in fact he didn't want one. He didn't even wait that long between words for them to speak.
"Such conduct is not acceptable from any Shinigami, The fact that two of you are so brazen as to attack each other at the entrance to the first division, With one of you being apart of it is beyond unacceptable. Kidoshu, Identify yourself to me immediately and tell me why you are here in the first place."
Byakuya's face remained stoic, however his slate-grey eyes rested as he stared directly at the Kidoshu, letting off only enough Reiatsu for the person behind the mask to speak and identify himself to Byakuya. He couldn't believe what he was witnessing, He thought the first division was above this, he didn't expect a first division Shinigami to stoop to attacking another.
The boy felt an overwhelming power as he looked to see someone who he could look up to as his pout disappeared before dropping to a sigh as he identified himself to the great Kuchiki Byakuya, captain of the sixth division.
"Greeting Kuchiki-taichou. I am Aoi Sora, sorry if I did anything wrong I was merely defending myself after I said a few words that may have upset Shio-san , I came here to inform him of a transfer and to meet with the head of the Kidoshu under orders from Blodeuwen-dono. I will not give an explanation for how we came to be in this situation, but I will not say I was not going to also attack too if this went on much longer. Sorry for the trouble Kuchiki-taichou."
He bowed his head slightly which was a mission as he was bound by someone strong enough to be in the kidoshu as well, not to mention someone who probably has reached a level he could only dream of at the moment. He may have been loud and sometimes obnoxious with a hatred for adults. However the boy did respect true authority and it just so happens that the Sixth Division represents the Laws which are the authority in this land. He probably should have kept quiet since his last comment is probably what gave away his location. He did not even take any further notice of Shio right now as the superior in this situation was clearly the captain of the Sixth Division.
He waited patiently for the divine judgement of Kuchiki Byakuya.
