Akane peeked around the corner of a tall building, eyes shifting side to side in search of her guards. Whenever she took off for the human world, they were never too far behind her. It became somewhat of a game to her; how long could she avoid capture. Hide and seek was the more accepted name, but it was capture to her. Her guards were assigned to keep her safe, not that she needed them. It was against her father's rules to be in the human world without being tasked by the gotei. Boring, too boring, and too paranoid. Nothing bad would happen to her as long as she was careful.
This was the longest she'd ever gone without being found. How exciting! Not being able to sense either of her guards, she darted to another alleyway. Her dress and long white hair fluttered behind her. It was amazing her hat never fell from her head when she moved quickly. At her new post, she held her breath, finding it was harder to catch her when she did. It really didn't do anything, but she believed it did. It worked so far in this attempt. Maybe this time she would be able to make it to a mall. The thought further excited her, distracting her from concealing her reiatsu.

Meilin Stood atop a building in the city looking down into the crowd of people walking below. Once again her charge had decided that she would try to give her the slip and go explore the human world all on her own. A smile came to the lips of the shinigami as she jumped from the top of the building down to the ground below, landing gracefully. She wasn't that great at sensing reiatsu, in fact she was horrible at it. Or rather, that was a feat that couldn't be performed by most within her presence. So keeping an eye on the her little white haired charge took a tad bit more effort than it did for most shinigami, though where the was a well there was a way. Meilin would never allow such a simple setback to deter her from her job, nonsense.
She stood still for a moment and allowed her senses to expand as she suddenly released a quick, but small burst of reiatsu. In her mind information began to flood as the reiatsu spread out and mapped the area for her. Hmm, she hadn't seen anything so far, but it was too soon to give up. As the thought struck her mind she caught a small hint of Akane's reiatsu some where to her left.
"Gotcha" she said as she took off in that direction, her reiatsu still mapping her surroundings for her so she could better locate Akane once she was within a 100m. If anything, Akane would feel Meilin's massive reiatsu and maybe try to make a run for it.
{Techs}Name: Sonar Class: Reiryoku Technique Tier: Tier III Type: Supplementary Range: 100m diameter Description: The user sends out a sound wave made of reiatsu at a very high pitch that only the user can hear. The sound wave is invisible and is used to act like a sonar, or closer yet a dolphin's echolocation ability. The sound wave maps out everything in a 100m diameter around the user and she can see everything perfectly as it's happening in her mind. Though this does not give her the ability to dodge everything, only what she is capable of dodging. Has a 7 post duration.
It only took a moment of distraction for one of her guards to close in on her. She could sense her the moment she turned in her direction. Meilin stuck out like a sore thumb, both of her guards did honestly. She could feel them coming without the need of sensing their reiatsu, but neither could control it very well. It made hiding from them easier at times.
Akane darted from alleyway to alleyway on her way towards the shopping district. She took great care in avoiding any long lines of sight. However, doing so slowed her down considerably. She wouldn't be able to keep a sizable distance between herself and Meilin. She knew her defeat was upon her, and there was only one thing to do.
"You got me," she said as she appeared suddenly in front of Meilin.
There was enough time for Meilin to stop without slamming into her. In any event, Akane didn't brace against her. Meilin tackled her affectionately all the time. Akane didn't like being handled like a doll when Meilin first began protecting her, but she grew to expect and accept it. It was better than receiving a lecture any day.
Tatsuya was never far from Akane, like that annoying big brother that was always around. Ever since Meilin had joined them Akane had an even bigger family of people around her to enjoy, which Tatsuya was very thankful for. He was laid back sure, but never one to skip out on his duty. If it was one thing Melien was good at, it was tracking, her power made it very easy to do it. If Tatsuya was the sharp edge of akane's guard, Meilin was the massive force that drove into it. They may not be that strong now, but strong enough to protect against the baser threats. These "Hide and Seek" games akane liked to play were troublesome to Tatsuya who was of the belief that it was too risky, but the girl was slippery and no matter how he tried.
So he was following Meilin when Akane popped up, using shunpo to avoid the pile up he appeared behind them sliding to a stop holding his straw hat in place looking back at Akane with a slightly grumpy stare.
"Akane-sama, please for the love of all that is holy stop doing that. You're going to give a poor old man like me a heart attack.."
He wasn't even old, but he acted like one, He liked it that way, it was a running joke on him within the guard that he was the oldest among them just because of his attitude. He would look at meilin eyebrow twitching, as his senses tingled.
"Gods Meilin-chan can you tone down that reiatsu of yours.. it makes my head ache."
Phantasmal Speed: Picking this perk will grant the Shinigami a x2 boost to natural speed and agility at Beginner Zanpakutou Spirit Mastery, increasing to that of x3 once Average, not affecting stepping speed. Since if you had larger muscles it would critically hamper their mobility, passive increasing of strength becomes impossible, and activated strength buffs cannot exceed x1.5.
You may also temporarily heighten your concentration to the utmost achieve impeccable feats of evasion. At Average, you can dodge nigh point blank Cero speed. This can occur once every two posts. Naturally one has to be aware the attack is coming however, lest no amount of focus will help. Can't be used to attack.

Description: This ability allows the user to ensure their blade hit's its mark through any barrier or obstacle. The ability allows Tatsuya to phase the blade of his zanpaktou through defenses, barriers and anything else of even or lesser advantage and tier when striking. This "phasing" only works on non organic matter, so once the blade hits flesh, it phases back to strike in whatever manner the user is striking with the zanpaktou (slash, thrust etc etc).

Meilin ran briskly as she picked up the darting little figure on her "sonar". Their little game would soon come to an end as Meilin slowly caught up to Akane. Who surprisingly instead chose to give and surrender herself. Suddenly appearing in front of Meilin with a shunpo. The blue eyed girl came to a screeching halt though thanks to inertia and little too much momentum she still crashed into the young girl.
"Akane-sama!" she said just before the impact, her arms spreading around and grabbing hold of the small girl. "Oh Akane-sama, you had me worried sick. Why do you always run off like that?" She said as she embraced the girl, a big smile on her face as she held on to her precious Akane.
When Tatsuya spoke up Meilin glanced at him, her smile suddenly gone. "Geez Tatsuya-senpai. If you're so serious all the time, you'll never get a girlfriend." Meilin stood to her feet, releasing Akane from her embrace, though she did hold her hand out, waiting long enough for the girl to take hold before walking over to her fellow shinigami.
She attempted to flick him lightly on his furrowed brow as a joke, "You really will end up looking like an old man if you make faces like that all the time. Don't you think so too, Akane-sama?" She chuckled as she raised her reiatsu a tad more just to annoy Tatsuya.
Her guard's didn't waste any time in fighting with each other. While they felt the same about Akane, they had very different ways of protecting her. They also had different ways of showing their affection. They shared a bond as if they were a family. Truth be told, Akane loved them more than her actual family at times.
"Mhm, he definitely will."
Akane wanted to join in on the teasing, but Meilin's reaitsu was overwhelming at times. It didn't cause her too much bother to be close to her. For whatever reason, hugging her somehow made her pressure more tolerable. However, when she rose her output to tease Tatsuya, she started getting dizzy. At first she was able to keep herself from showing any signs of it getting to her. Within a minute, her eyes swirled and her head rolled on her shoulders. It was too much, and she knew what that meant. Tatsuya was already in lecture mode after catching her, and now Meilin once again "harmed" her. She didn't need to be fully aware to know that Tatsuya would rip into her.
"Mei...-chan."
She collapsed in her embrace, now looking more like the doll Meilin treated her as.
Tatsuya started to speak up to Mei, just to tease her back, since Akane joined in.
"I would if you would just say ye-"
It was then that Akane, seemingly weak in the knee's began to fall. He immediately moved to her side, if Mei didn't catch her he would. Glaring up at the other female shinigami not his charge.
"How many times have I told you to control that... by the gods if you are making her pass out you can't exactly guard her can you."
He somewhat said to mei in a rude and superior tone. He wasn't often like this towards people, but at the moment all that mattered was Akane's protection and he couldn't tell if she was being serious or not when she fainted. He put the back of his hand against her cheek, his voice a little worried.
"Akane-sama, Akane-sama! Are you okay can you hear me?"
He snapped his fingers in front of her eyes for a moment before lightly smacking her right cheek.

She looked over at Akane sama as she heard her name being called and quickly she lowered her reiatsu back to normal as she went to go and catch the younger girl, but Tatsuya beat her to it. He was also quick to chastise her, causing Meilin to give him somewhat of a vexed look even though she knew he was correct that she had to watch how she used her powers around their charge.
"Yes you're right, I'm sorry," she said as she knelt beside him and attempted to wake Akane. It was in times like these she cursed her inability to control her reiatsu properly. While her reiatsu being large and overwhelming had it's benefits, it also came with it's drawbacks. This unfortunately was one of them and it was something Meilin needed to learn to live with and control. Especially around Akane.
"Akane-same, wake up, wake up." Staring down at the young girls unconscious features and having Tatsuya's words run through her head had the girl considering whether she was really the right pick for this job.
"Haha, of course you are you silly girl. Who else is stronger than you? Certainly not that old man," came Kawa's voice in her mind.
"She's right, you're strong it's only natural for you to sometimes have an adverse effect on others. One day that young girl will be able to withstand amount of reiatsu no problem. You needn't worry," Gami following shortly after.
Thank you, but I still must learn to control myself better.
She felt comforted by the words of her spirits and pushed aside the thoughts she had before and resumed helping to rouse Akane.
Overwhelming Power: This buff is an incomplete cap left on the compression of power, causing for explosive torrents of reiatsu to surge around the user. This form of ability causes reiatsu sensing abilities to scramble when in the presence of the user, and also gives their overall speed and strength a 2x boost [not affecting steps]. The primary perk of this form is that it allows the user to practically use their overflowing reiryoku as a weapon. Most commonly found as waves of energy with the swing or focus of the Shikai of varying power, along with an increase in pressure by 50%.
She wasn't completely out of it. The smacks on her cheek were enough to pull her out of the daze, though she still felt the dizziness and confusion that came with it. It took another minute for her to completely come to. As she did, she struggled out of Tatsuya's arms.
"Too tight," she complained.
Tatsuya was actually really sensitive when it came to her. She never received a harsh hand, unlike his words. It was funny that his hugs were more gentle than what Meilin called one. Her's were more like struggle snuggles filled with love. If one were to forget the love was there, it would like a violent thrashing or murder.
"I passed out again didn't I?" She looked over to Meilin. "Every time I think I am over your reiatsu," she threw her hands around above her dramatically. "You go crazy with it."
Akane didn't mean to scold her. Her intent was to make light of the situation before the rant she was sure she missed continued. Meilin always looked sad whenever she messed up, and Tatsuya had his ways of making that worse.
"My cheek hurts," she turned to Tatsuya. "Did you hit me?"
She knew the answer, engaging her fake waterworks. The pool of water welled up in her eyes as she sniffled and pouted.
Tatsuya sighed out of relief when his charge awoke, shaking his head at mei but feeling bad at the same time. He was often rough on her after all, he didn't know why but perhaps it was merely just peers being rough on one another because they could. He nodded when Akane asked if she had passed out again. Then she teared up and asked if they had hit her, Tatsuya chuckled nervously for a moment.
"Mei was so worried about you.. she might have slapped you gently a few times to try and wake you up.. but it worked!"
He looked up and gave mei a cheeky smile as if to say, you earned it since it's your fault. He would have to buy her a drink later if she took the blame, that sounded like something fun to do in their off time after all. A nice drink with the attractive fellow guardian.,... what could go wrong?!

As Akane awoke Meilin smiled, she was glad to see the young lady open her eyes. "My sincerest apologizes Akane sama, I keep forgetting myself." She knelt to one knee and bowed her head before the younger girl.
Though her head shot up as she heard her name being mentioned by Tatsuya, blaming her for the misses hurting cheeks. The look on his face was one that pretty much dared her to not take the blame, though she narrowed her eyes and lowered her once more.
"Once more Akane sama, forgive me. I don't know what came over myself."
Oh Tatsuya senpai would most definitely owe her for this later. Her eyebrow twitched in anger and her lips coiled in a maniacal smile as she pictured her revenge in her mind.
She looked up with a straight face directly at Tatsuya, though the look in her eyes would let him know that she didn't intend to let this go at all. Rising to her feet, she made to remove Akane from Tatsuya's grasp, "And stop holding Akane-sama so tightly all the time." She looked at him pointedly as she let him know about his own flaws.

Meilin would never hit her even if it was to wake her up. There were all manners of other things she'd do, leaving hitting as the absolute last resort. Kissing, shaking, squeezing, whatever other overly affectionate thing popped into her mind. When Akane passed out, she treated it like her favorite toy was broken.
"You hit me..." She sniffled again, then let all her tears flow forth.
Seeing as she wanted to cover for Tatsuya, Akane wanted to see how far she would go. Just seeing her cry was usually enough to push Meilin over, but this time would be really tough. She rubbed her cheeks, and covered her eyes. Her sobs were louder than normal. One would think she was dying or heartbroken. Heartbroken was what she hoped Meilin would be.
"I thought you would never hurt me."
The academy award for best actress was hers. All the time she spent pretending to like others and being the perfect little girl honed her skills. She could convince people of anything if she really wanted to. Her guards were naturally more easily fooled, considering they cared more about her than others.
Tatsuya wrapped his arms around the clinging akane giving Mei and thankful look and a nod. He owed her one, or maybe a few more than one, but it meant a lot to Tatsuya that his companion in arms would go to such lengths to take the bullet for him, though it was simply Akane being her usual over dramatic self and all that. He chuckled quietly to himself shaking his head.
"Now now Akane-sama she didn't really "hurt" you, She helped you wake up faster and all that, so you weren't in danger. What would have happened if we had been attacked when you were fainted and she didn't slap you to wake you up.. cut the girl a break."
She stuck out his tongue playfully at mei now.
"Now.. where else on this patrol where we supposed to go?"
He asked trying to save the day, change the subject and keep them moving after all. They really couldn't afford to be delayed, the longer they spent in this realm the more danger there was.

This "phasing" only works on non organic matter, so once the blade hits flesh, it phases back to strike in whatever manner the user is striking with the zanpaktou (slash, thrust etc etc).

She knew the tears were fake, but still they made Meilin want to break and speak the truth. She kept her composure though and her silence remained with her even as Akane-sama moved away from her and into the arms of Tatsuya. She felt like she'd been stabbed in the heart, she wanted grasp at her chest and fall to her knees. It was like a cold dark world had surrounded her and all was coming to an end, nothing mattered anymore. Her head fell and hung low as her shoulders slumped and a defeated look appeared on her face.
Tatsuya had his tongue stuck out at her, though he still defended her. Rather he better considering how she was torturing herself for this man. "Akane-sama you know I would never intentionally hurt you, please forgive me." She said once more.
She raised her head when she heard tatsuya asking where else it was they were supposed to go. Hmm if she remembered correctly, they were supposed to be west of their current location? "West of here, I believe Tatsuya-senpai," she said as she stood straight once more, her face again all business.

This form of ability causes reiatsu sensing abilities to scramble when in the presence of the user, and also gives their overall speed and strength a 2x boost [not affecting steps]. The primary perk of this form is that it allows the user to practically use their overflowing reiryoku as a weapon. Most commonly found as waves of energy with the swing or focus of the Shikai of varying power, along with an increase in pressure by 50%.
Her act worked to perfection. Meilin was clearly devastated by her crocodile tears. Good good, suffer eternally. Her thoughts were dark even for her over dramatic self. Besides, they were so cute when they covered for each other. Still, she sniffled and wiped her tears away.
"Okay," she whimpered. "I forgive you."
She stood and smiled, but the questioning of patrol changed her expression. Her face went pale. It was as if she'd seen a ghost. A ghost like in horror movies, not like the ghosts that they were. Even scarier than a hollow, something truly frightening and unexplained.
"Uh... yeah.. west."
She wasn't on any patrol. Her father didn't need to know that, and neither did her guards who would tell on her the first chance they got. Meilin might have considered keeping it a secret. There were a few secrets between them, but Tatsuya was strict. He'd comfort her, tell her that she wasn't going to get in trouble, but then tell on her. She overheard her father yelling at him before because he didn't want her punished. As much as she didn't want to get in trouble, she didn't want Tatsuya taking the heat. Guess it was time for a little more acting.
"We aren't supposed to be out here that long really. Just a little further down that way." She pointed randomly westward. "Let's finish so we can go home without anything bad happening okay?"
What akane said made more sense than everything combined to Tatsuya. "Lets get out of here so we can relax" or "Tatsuya-kun you're so awesome lets go home so you don't have to worry anymore!" ya.. that last one sounded perfect. He found himself smirking from under his hat as he nodded.
"I like that idea, lets get home then.. lead the way Akane-sama. Since you said you read the orders on the patrol, I didn't get a chance to look them over because you said we were already late getting here."
It was an odd situation, he normally got them forwarded to him so he could take appropriate measures and read out and study the cities layout in the area incase something happened. However today was different, though its not like something bad actually happened. Aside from mei's thing really it had been un eventful. He took in a deep breath and let it out relaxing, today was shaping up to be pretty tame compared to other outtings they had gone on.
Phantasmal Speed: Picking this perk will grant the Shinigami a x2 boost to natural speed and agility at Beginner Zanpakutou Spirit Mastery, increasing to that of x3 once Average, not affecting stepping speed. Since if you had larger muscles it would critically hamper their mobility, passive increasing of strength becomes impossible, and activated strength buffs cannot exceed x1.5.
You may also temporarily heighten your concentration to the utmost achieve impeccable feats of evasion. At Average, you can dodge nigh point blank Cero speed. This can occur once every two posts. Naturally one has to be aware the attack is coming however, lest no amount of focus will help. Can't be used to attack.

This ability aids in his being able to react and track targets as a swordsman no matter what stands in his way.

Meilin stood watching as Tatsuya coldly proceeded to torture Akane-sama. Well not so much torture, more like play along with her. One could tell he had seen through the small white lie that their charge had told him. However Meilin said not a peep as she waited to hear what the response of the young mistress was. Usually Tatsuya would take over and try to get them back quickly and attempt to cover for the Lady Akane with her father should he ever hear word of such things, often times reporting it himself so that the Lord wouldn't hear it from another source.
Hmm, what game is he playing at?
"Ah yes the sun is beginning to set," she said in mention to his reference of time. he sky now starting to become a pinkish orange hue as the large orb of fire descended. Meilin raised a hand a put a few stray strands of hair back into place beore turning to Akane.
"Shall we go, Akane-sama?"
This time around their trip had been uneventful, which was good, but made for a bit of a dull day. Not that she didn't enjoy the company of the two around her. She smile at Akane, before looking up and sticking her tongue out at Tatsuya.

"Okay Akane relax," she thought to herself. "They believe me, and I can make this work. All I need to do is make it appear like I'm doing my job. I can do that. Act totally normal. They'll never know."
"Yeah, let's go," she sounded cheery.
She carried on with the fake patrol as if she were actually doing an assigned one. It was quiet around their part of the town. There were some spiritual pressures about, though they obviously belonged to other shinigami. The few that didn't weren't very dangerous. It was never in her assignments to handle the hollow who weren't tipping the balance. Of course they would be sent along by herself or another shinigami in the future, but balance was what the Gotei sought.
Looking over her shoulder, she wondered how long she needed to take them before they'd accept her patrol as finished. If she considered the early running around as part of her patrol, then she only needed a few more minutes. It was already getting late in the day, something she only noticed just then.
"I think that about does it." She stopped and smiled at her guards.
