APPEARANCE
Arthur stands at 5'10'', a head above the average joe, but not towering by anyone's standards. He stands tall and walks with a refined posture, and tends to dress to match his confident gait. While he's frequently found on campus wearing his honor society's blazer, outside of that he still favors polos, button-up shirts, and sport coats, preferring to keep a "refined casual" look. His hair is a blue/black shade, and his eyes are a lighter shade of blue. With a strong, toned figure and wise, piercing eyes, he projects the image of a man who's well-educated and has his act together.
PERSONALITY
Arthur, like many Quincy, has a noticeably sober personality owing to the grim nature of his own calling and his people’s history. He understands what it means to be an enemy of both Hollows and Shinigami alike, and he recognizes that the path of the Quincy is often a lonely one. As such, he strives to be a self-sufficient person – he doesn’t need to remain solitary and avoid social connections, but he tries to maintain a strong sense of identity apart from any relationships he finds himself in. He is proud of his Quincy heritage, and takes his fighting and training deadly serious.
“Serious” is not to be confused with “single-minded,” however. Arthur still keeps up rigorous academic studies with his university studies in literature, and maintains a few hobbies including reading, playing music (he plays the flute and dabbles in other wind instruments), and following professional soccer. His temperament is calm and restrained, but he enjoys a good conversation and the company of others, provided they display enough intelligence to keep his interest.
Arthur is a very rational person – he does his best to subjugate his emotions and personal senses of loyalty or devotion in favor of his duty, always preferring to fulfill his responsibilities rather than pursue his individual desires. This doesn’t always work in the heat of the moment, but his guiding principle is to place duty first, above all else.
HISTORY
Arthur is descended from a lineage of mixed-blooded Quincy. In particular, the ancestor of his branch of the family fled to a quiet rural town in England to stay under the radar during the Shinigami massacre of the Quincy, and his descendants continued to live and train there. Arthur himself was raised in southern England, under his father’s watchful and deliberate tutoring. His father George held that the Quincy, as humanity’s chief defenders and advocates, had a duty to strive for excellence not only in their own combat arts, but in intellectual and professional fields as well. While Arthur received instruction in Quincy techniques and combative arts, he was also enrolled in a small private boarding school to be put through a rigorous academic program. From his youngest years, Arthur understood clearly that his father expected him to behave as a superior specimen – there was a strong thread of “Quincy supremacism,” if it could be called that, by which Arthur felt compelled to stand out over his peers in every way. His education was strict and demanding, but he proved to have much of the natural talent required to thrive in it. Two sisters were eventually born into his family, but as the sole son of George Fujimiya, Arthur had heavy expectations upon him from the beginning.
He did excel academically and maintained good grades throughout his high school years, though he found himself occasionally at odds with his father’s high expectations. Juggling his studies, learning a musical instrument, playing on the school’s small soccer team, and learning to fight as a Quincy, Arthur at many points in his adolescence felt overwhelmed, and there were more than a few heated arguments in the Fujimiya household as he strained against his father’s strict regimen of training and development. The two would be at odds for several years, until a Hollow attack in rural Scotland changed Arthur’s tone substantially. While vacationing in the Scottish highlands, a Hollow appeared and fatally wounded a local Scottish woman before it was swiftly killed by George. Having finally witnessed the savagery of a Hollow in person, Arthur found a new resolve to pursue – and exceed – his father’s expectations.
Aware that Japan was home to a high degree of spiritual activity, Arthur specifically requested to travel abroad and study at a four-year university near Karakura and Naruki. By doing so, he could continue to pursue his studies in literature & history while gaining increased exposure to the activity of the spirit realm – forcing himself into a position where his abilities would be tested and stretched. He has continued to train by himself in his new residence, and has occasionally worked alongside other Quincy to hone his abilities. Now that he is entering the final year of his university studies, Arthur has begun to focus more heavily on the development of his powers and combat skills; with academic pursuits about to wrap up, he is prepared to step into his father’s vision of the Quincy as an “ubermensch” of sorts, proving his belief that Quincy are to be the model of human strength in the physical, spiritual, and academic realms.

Description: A simple defensive technique in which a short area around the user has its reishi tampered with for two posts, so that the spirit particles become extremely dense and heavily weigh down anyone else who comes within range, allowing them to make a quick escape or get a free shot in. Opponents suffer a x2 decay in their overall Speed and maneuverability when coming into range of this effect.

This technique does not do anything bar simple deflection. It's made to either force enemies to retreat, or push them away.
