He was feeling classy tonight. The allure of a nicely tailored suit was nothing to scoff at, especially when such a splendid frame as Corvus's was tucked beneath the black and pale baby blue fabrics. He loved it so much he put a lil pep in his step and gave his darling tailor a little bit of extra to keep his work ethic up. Give an aloof bastard like Corvus the power of sex appeal and the whole world's screwed, one disinterested heart throbbing gaze at a time. World domination was too trite though; he had enough entertainment here in the King's Den. That's right! The King's Den Bar! Come one come all! Don't mind that the outside looks like a rusted old warehouse with a seedy looking neon sign, can't judge a book by its cover after all. Step inside and behold the grandeur of it all. The white gold chandeliers and blood diamond encrusted glass tables glinted in the dimmed lights. Meats on meats on meats lined the tables, buffet style. Handles of vodka, gin, rum, cognacs and whatever the fuck else you'd care to sip on accompanied the massive orgy of protein. Nothing like meat when you're drunk after all! The stained glass windows high near the ceiling depicting the past Kings of Koenig in their respective battle regalia glared down on the drunken bastards.
And then there was the Koenig die Koenig. The King of Kings! This was his home after all and you'd be hard pressed not to see his empty bored gaze soiling underwear in abundance as he sat up on his throne in the back of the house watching his family have a good time. To see hundreds of Quincy still manage to not only survive, but thrive in such bliss as this? Nearly brought a tear to his eye. Nearly, if he wasn't holding in a yawn. Tonight was rather boring despite the festivities if you'd believe. The pale blue tie draped over a porcelain white dress shirt tucked behind a jet black jacket was the coup de grace of all the ladies' panties in the bar. And to make matters worse that messy-but-still-styled hair of his added to the brooding beauty. The king was coolin' on his throne, maximum chill. Wine glass full of Bailey's Irish Cream and milk to start off his buzz for the night. The main attraction was about to take place and he had the best seat in the house.
Touko was pissed. Which seemed to be a habit lately. Mom had been held up again (surprise surprise) and had to visit another hospital. She hadn't ever been as close to her mother as her older brother had...but she missed her. If she really wanted to come home, couldn't she tell her bosses that she needed a break? A vacation? Just some time to spend with her family?
Her lack of soothing presence only made things tenser between her and dad. Neither of them could keep their mouths shut around each other. Which was part of the reason why she was sneaking out the window in a long winter coat when it was a warm summer night.
The teen wanted to go out, blow off some steam. She had been texting Jhon for some awesome hangout places and begged him not to give her up to Raiden. He mentioned that he heard a rumor about this amazing place that was hidden in an abandoned looking warehouse. He gave her the location and she got herself ready, wearing pretty much the most scandalous outfit she could find, paired with thigh high heeled boots. She left her hat at home, simply leaving her hair up in her standard pony tail to accentuate her bare shoulders and collarbone.
After she managed to sneak out of the house when her dad had fallen asleep, Touko made her way to the location she had been given. "Well Jhon wasn't wrong..." It certainly did look like an abandoned warehouse. She would've thought that she was in the wrong place if it wasn't for the shitty neon sign announcing the name of the place. "King's Den." She murmured to herself before walking around the side and then back, keeping an eye out for any doors.
Sure enough there was a back door and she waited impatiently until someone finally exited it and she managed to catch the door before it closed and slip in before they noticed. Shedding off her long jacket, Touko entered the scene with wide eyes and an open mouthed smile. "Now this is what I'm talkin' 'bout!"
As she looked around she suddenly realized that she had quite a view. This kind of felt like... Her azure eyes darted around and her stomach sank slightly when she saw how nice this particular area was. There was even two amazing looking guys that were impeccably dressed chatting it up closeby. Shit this was the VIP room or something. She'd definitely get busted for being here. The brunette shifted and tried to look like she belonged there...and was of age.
Looky looky. This kid had some guts to step to Corvus. Its not like he owned the place or anything. Not like he was a big deal in his own bar. Not like the kid wasn't pumped up on liquid courage that Corvus had paid for. Nah of course not! Come on kiddies that'd be silly. Corvus was just the joe schmo of the night who happened to occupy the empty throne, and this stranger, who despite having poured enough alcohol past those wonderfully pink lips to put a dragon's breath to shame was just an innocent bystander enjoying his company. Except wait. That wasn't this at all. So when the strange white-haired vision of charm strut over and spoke a smooth melody over his ears, Corvus couldn't help but to show the kid just what a man like him was doing on his lonesome.
He sat silent, eyeing the kid as he took another creamy sip from his glass before he flicked his wrist towards the area behind him. A beautiful little dame strut over handing Corvus a smartphone. He gave his niece a peck on the cheek as gratitude and held up a finger to the stranger as if saying 'one moment please' was too draining of a task for the king. He swiped at the phone's screen and in a moment dimmed the lights of the bar. Another few nimble flicks of his thumb and the chandeliers lowered closer to the dancefloor as Corvus powered on the refraction crystals within the chandeliers that scattered the dimmed lights to give the dancefloor a more mysterious haze.
"My lonesome? Kiddo I've got the best seat in the house, its not so lonely at the top," Corvus slyly said in a deep tone so low it was a whisper's cousin. Corvus lightly nodded to the dancefloor lazily, before continuing, "besides...I'm still on the clock love. Gotta keep em entertained." The dancefloor was blanketed in a ghostly golden fog as the chandeliers scrambled the lights and the ecstasy in the air intensified as Corvus flared up his reiatsu a bit to force the clubbers into a more relaxed state.
Who was this kid anyways? Corvus felt the need to speak to him. And not only that they spoke as if Cupid's aim was impeccable. Words silky like velvet from both parties. Everything about Corvus was its usual disinterested flavor, except he had a bit of flirtatious spice to the detached vibe.
"Welcome to the King's Den, can't say we've met before. Corvus Koenig, and yourself?" An aloof smirk crept on tall, dark, and brooding's face as he wrapped up his suave introduction.
Touko watched the two handsome men converse for a moment before the one with the dark hair was handed a phone by a rather attractive lady, whom he kissed before flicking a few things on said phone. But then she was distracted as there was movement from the ceiling and the brunette turned to watch with open mouth as chandeliers lowered closer to the dance floor before crystals within the chandeliers scattered the dimmed lights to give the dance floor a more mysterious haze.
Appreciative cheers rose up from the crowd at the change of scenery and a new song was set up by the DJ and they began to dance once again. But then Touko felt...something. It was like whenever she felt a hollow or her brother in shinigami form around. But not exactly. It was different than that, but she could definitely tell that it was powerful. But it made her feel...relaxed instead of more alert for some reason. She wasn't the only one either.
The teen could tell that it was coming from the general vicinity of over there. She looked at the two men and wondered which of the two had did it. Glancing between the dance floor and the two men, Touko wondered if she could possibly slip past them without them noticing.
But as she stood deliberating, the light haired one called out to her. She was caught between several emotions, mainly embarrassment, anger and awkwardness. Still, she tried to play it cool and walked over, her hips swaying and her heels clicking as she approached the pair.
"I didn't wana intrude. It seemed like a private conversation. I'm Touko though, pleased to meet you." The teen's ingrained manners caused her hand to automatically outstretch to shake the hand of the man that had spoken to her. If shaken, one would be able to feel the slight roughness of her hands.
As a gracious host would in any case, Corvus offered Alexander a drink, pouring out more of the Irish cream into an empty glass on the table to his left. The name Kairis wasn't ringing any bells but this lad sure smelt of Quincy blood, piquing Corvus's interest in the conversation even more. As he shook the man's hand and proceeded to pour out the milky brew, he picked up on Alexander's observation and before he knew it, Corvus was greeting the underaged girl who'd managed to sneak in. Though her ensemble was fitting of the atmosphere; slim-fitting and dripping in sex-appeal, Corvus nearly gagged at the thought that a kid would own such clothing. Wasn't sure if security needed a bit of his own unique brand of discipline or if her parent's needed it more. In any case he wasn't willing to ruin his leisure cause some punk kid snuck in, after all it was in this very bar that Corvus himself had tasted the sweet delicacy that was a sake bomb spiked with good ole' American whiskey at the tender age of 12. So as he poured out Alexander's glass or Baileys he felt obliged to say fuck the law and pour out young Touko a shot herself.
Except he had something special in mind. A slick flick of the wrist over the phone's screen and an invisible table emerged from its chameleon state. Corvus reached over and plucked a small bottle from it. And what was within? Reishi infused ale; to Quincy it just gave a more intense buzz, borderline ecstasy in liquid form. But to humans? Boy oh boy was young blood over here in for a treat.
"Pleasure to meet you Alexander, and likewise young Touko," Corvus paused to make his next words tense in regard to the female, "though I'd normally have you strung up from a tree for sneaking in, tonight's a special occasion. I'd be truly sad if you didn't oblige in our toast."
Corvus poured a little bit of the curious elixir into all three drinks before proceeding to coat his pinkie finger in reishi and activating the catalyst within the drinks to give their special little buzz.
"In my family, we mix each other's drinks as a sign of goodwill. So here we cheer, to life and friendship" Corvus dispersed the drinks before shooting Touko a devilish grin. As he raised his glass he winked a coy little thing at Alexander.
The night itself was one that was full of air and opportunity for all of whom wished to take it. Though, depending on who you were and where you were at, what kind of things were open to you were many and far between. For Lee, he was looking for something to do with his night that wasn't too taxing. He wasn't completely sure what that would entail but he found that the night would decide that for him.
That mainly being due to his current location, his opportunities were just right. At least, right for him at that moment. The club was flowing and the drinks were pouring to those that asked for them. Lee himself was standing to his own devices with a glass in his hand and his eyes scanning the room. He was watching the party goers enjoy themselves and some were enjoying themselves more than just a little.
He would simply aim to keep himself inconspicuous as he knew of the establishment only due to having known a few Quincy whom actually were 'of-age'. He would raise the drink up to his lips and take a sip and almost instantly swallow and exhale the seemingly increasing heat that was enveloping his lungs and throat, as if he was breathing fire. He would keep his teeth together and breath through them as he tried to keep his composure.
He wasn't entirely sure how some people were able to drink this stuff on a daily basis or even for 'fun'. He was no stranger to the drink but nothing that was straight or as strong. But to draw too much attention to himself or seem like a whelp wouldn't serve him at all either.
Touko waited for the two men to introduce themselves, but while the silver haired man that had insisted she come over didn't reply, the dark haired man fiddled with his phone before a table rose from the floor and her eyebrows rose in surprise. This place was way fancier than Jhon had let on. The brunette watched with a small curious smile as the dark haired man picked out a small bottle from the raised table before pouring Baileys into three glasses.
He then spoke, speaking of how it was nice to meet Alexander, whom she deduced was the other man, and herself, and she bowed her head in appreciation before stopping cold. His completely unveiled threat of a threat caused her to swallow thickly against a lump in her throat. "Th-Thank you." She managed to say, rather grateful that she wasn't getting thrown out by security, getting the cops called on her, or worse her dad or brother called. A blush rose to her cheeks in embarrassment as Alexander giggled at her situation.
The teen watched as Corvus poured something from the little unmarked bottle into all three of their glasses before stirring the drinks with his pinky for whatever reason. Touko looked at him with curiosity before he explained the reason for his actions. Nodding in comprehension, the brunette took her drink in hand and blinked with wide eyes at his rather mischievous grin directed at her before he winked at Alexander.
Glancing down at the drink before looking at the silver haired man as he encouraged her to drink before he cheered to the weekend rather loudly. Laughing at his enthusiasm, Touko found a bit of courage and reasoned that whatever the dark haired man had poured in, he had given himself and his friend so it couldn't possibly be all that dangerous.
"To a weekend of living and friendship!" She toasted before upending the glass to her lips, the smooth taste of sweet creamy alcohol hitting her taste buds before a twang of something...more hit her tongue. She passed it off as just the alcohol hitting her. Setting the glass down, she smiled at Corvus and Alexander as she licked her lips. This wasn't her first taste of Baileys but this...didn't feel quite like Baileys.
A shiver ran up Touko's spine as her skin erupted in goosebumps. Her smile began to droop as she realized this didn't feel like the usual effects of alcohol and even if it were, it was way too soon to feel anything. "What..was that stuff?" She asked with wide blinking eyes dilated as her heart pounded like she was in the ring fighting for the championship.
"Whoa..." Her smile returned with a vengeance, grinning as her hips began to wiggle to the tempo of the music and her head whipped around to look at the dancefloor. She was about to ask her newfound drinking partners if they wanted to dance with her when she saw a familiar auburn head.
"Hey! I know that guy!" The brunette told her companions. Touko raised her arm up to wave over at her classmate, calling out to him, "LEE-KUN! HI~!"
Lee was letting his amber eyes scan over the club with a precision that the Quincy were known for. While he figured he couldn't do anything too wild or out there, he also did not want to keep himself locked away on the wall for the rest of the night. He wanted to party and get away with whatever it was he could, it was the entire reason he was out in the first place. He quickly let his attentions turn themselves over toward the outburst of someone that seemed to be enjoying himself, yelling about the weekend.
He couldn't help but let a smile cross his own lips at the exclamation and it was almost at that same time that a female aside from the man would flail her arm in the air to grasp someone's attention. It also just so happen that the attention was aimed at himself. He would raise his free hand in acknowledgement and look around as he made his way through the smoke and crowd.
Upon reaching the small group, Lee would raise his glass lightly toward them "Hey Touko, how's it hanggin?" He would then turn his attention over toward her companions and nod to them in a small greeting.
Security was definitely slacking. Not one but two underaged kids tonight? Lord knows how many others were running around hoping to screw Corvus out of a business. Alex's lively toast from earlier did put Corvus at ease but damn! Someone was surely going to catch an arrow to the shin for this bullshit. In any case, Corvus introduced himself to the new guest, plainly and dryly, showing his displeasure. Corvus couldn't help but notice that the new kid was a Quincy. His reiatsu was so weak and unformed, floating about him freely. Noticing Touko's special buzz settling early, Corvus thought he'd let the two youngins have some fun.
"While I'd love to stay and chat Lee, Alexander here and myself were just about to attend to some business. I do hope you'll make sure Touko-chan here has a nice night tho." Before taking Alexander by the hand and leading him away, Corvus tapped Lee on the shoulder and flared his reiatsu out a bit, just to put a little scare in the kid. Oh...what? You thought Corvus was above scaring kids? Silly goose! Corvus's lazy exterior made the jump he inspired in them even more hilarious. It wasn't like a point blank flare of his reiatsu would kill him or anything. Just make him sweat a lil, maybe even drop him to his knees. He was sure the drunk Touko would react in an absolutely hysterical manner. He was buzzin, can ya blame the guy?
After the little bit of theatrics, he waved the two goodbye and led Alex to the back. Through those tall double wooden doors was a whole other section. Thanks to the wonders of Quincy technology, the reishi infused cement allowed the back of the club to have the space of a 3 floor mansion, all while taking up seemingly no space. The lighting here was different as well. Much more extravagant yet cozy, like if rich people actually raised their children properly in those giant villas, this is what it'd look like. The long hallway branched off into multiple different common areas and wings with the rooms of his family members. Down the long white hallway, lined with clear crystal chandeliers was a winding staircase. Up the staircase at the top was a single room, and behind those doors was Corvus's office.
"Alexander, If I may, I'd like you to join me in private." Oh Corvus, just as dry as ever, it wasn't like the guy had a choice after he'd led him to his private office.
Touko grinned as Lee made his way over to them and she giggled as he asked her how she was 'hanging'. "I'm hanging from the ceiling!" Or at least that was what she felt like.
"What're you doin' here?" She asked with momentary confusion before becoming distracted as Corvus stood and asked Lee to make sure she had a nice night before leaving with Alexander.
"Aw, later guys! Thanks for the drinks!" She called out after them with a parting wave before turning and pausing as she became momentarily dizzy.
"I think the drink was funny though..." She said to herself before her eyes fell back on Lee. "Oh, Lee! Do you wana dance?"
The teen felt sluggish and energized all at the same time. The colors and lights of the club pulsed and seemed super saturated in her eyes while her skin tingled from feeling the music wash over her in waves. She couldn't keep still and her eyes were wide with pupils dilated with a grin still on her face.
Touko tried to concentrate on Lee though and noticed that he looked quite different from seeing him at school, not just because of the change of clothes either. Perhaps it was simply the atmosphere...or her addled mind.
Lee would bring his attentions to the newly introduced Corvus that seemed less than pleased with either Lee in general or something else. He would then speak to Lee about making sure that he made sure Touko had a pleasant enough night. On his way out, Corvus gave Lee a small pat on his shoulder or at least that would be what would be seen by all those around. What truly went down was a show of quick and imitate spiritual prowess. Lee felt his joints lock and his body go from what was loose given the atmosphere to being closer to a stone slab.
He would keep his eyes straight forward till Corvus was gone from the immediate area. He would raise his glass up and bring it to his lips and down half the glass and then realize just what he had done as his mouth would close tightly in order to keep the fire down. He would shake his head and turn his attention to Touko as she spoke to him about dancing.
He would breath through his nose and then take in a breath through his mouth as he would look out to the dance floor. He wasn't a stranger to dancing but he also wasn't what one would call a professional. He would put the remainder of his glass onto a table and nod his head as he would hold his hand outward toward her to help her up. She seemed to have had her fill and he didn't need her getting up only to kiss the floor right afterward "Sure, it'll get my mind off somethings."
Would you look at the mouth on this kid! Geez, hollywood on the outside until those porcelain lips opened and the gutters spilled out. Corvus smiled a genuine smile at his crassness. It'd been a while since anyone addressed Corvus like he was just another man, and not the head of his house. Maybe he'd needed to get out more, or maybe it was the power that inspired respect from his family. In any case he welcomed the sailor-tongued Alexander's words and simply replied with a "I have something to show you, and I'd hate for them," he paused as he pointed to the group of 8 year olds lurking about trying to catch a peek at Corvus and Alex before he'd closed the door, "to see it before I open in on the main stage."
As they walked into the office, he turned the lights on revealing an elegant white little room, rather scarce in furniture and looked too stiff to truly fit Corvus's nonchalant vibe; a true testament to how green and fresh he still was at being the head of his house. Within the office were plain lights veiled at even spacing by a white fabric draped and raised repeating in a pattern about the room. Two plain white leather couches sat in the center with a small table between them and a large white wooden table with an even larger black chair with a the back curve of the office lined with large armoire's, elegant and antique in appearance. Corvus changed the subject, not wanting to rush the conversation, he was enjoying the youngin's company, and it would only get better as his buzz kicked up to the next level.
"This conversation isn't entirely business related though, I was mostly wondering about you. The Kiaris aren't from around this side of Japan are they? I've heard a little about your kind." Corvus motioned for Alexander to take a seat on the white couch across from the couch he'd sat down. He slyly emphasized the word kind as he trailed off letting Alexander speak. Albrecht had spoke vaguely of the different Quincy families and the Kiaris and their mental instability came up frequently as they served to disrupt the balance between families. Corvus had more on his mind than just entertaining company and wondered if the Kiaris curse persisted. He checked his phone and swiped through a few apps before he opened the security cameras of the King's Den on his phone and saw Touko and Lee on the dancefloor.
Touko laughed upon seeing Lee down most of his drink and cheered him on, "Yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about!" Her head was already bobbing to the bass of the music that was playing.
As she leaned forward to catch what the auburn haired boy had said, she then looked up with a grimace and a nod. "I know just what you mean. That's why I came here."
Her face brightened at his offered hand and she clasped in her own and skipped unsteadily off to the dance floor, her hips swaying. As they found a relatively empty spot, she turned with a smile and began to dance along with the music. The lights flashing and swinging over the crowd as the bounced.
Her hands couldn't keep still either, moving over her thighs and then up her arms before her fingers wove through her hair. She couldn't stop touching, everything felt amazing. She could practically feel the bass of the music tickle the small peach fuzz hairs on her body.
Smiling widely at Lee as he joined her, she stepped closer and continued dancing. Her moves weren't exactly about to land her on TV or as a back up dancer, but she wasn't horrible, even with heels and unsteady on her feet.
The teen felt free and at peace and excited and connected all at the same time. She wanted to dance forever, run all night long and go toe to toe with the World Champion. She wanted to touch and be touch and feel as good as she did right now for eternity. Little did she know that she was saying all of this aloud, albeit probably not loud enough to be heard over the noise of the music and crowd.
Flicking her brunette hair over her shoulder, Touko eyed Lee and wondered if he was having as great a time as she was. "You havin' fun?" She asked her dance partner loudly with a coy smile.
Lee would nod his head in the direction of Touko as she cheered on his drinking and for all intensive purposes, it wasn't all that bad as his buzz was starting to come on but it wasn't nearly as hard one would think. The quick drink did put him a bit more at ease as everything was starting to be put into a lighter tone. She would comment about his statement of forgetting some things and that was the exact reason she was here now. Lee himself wasn't sure if he would actually make this a constant thing and more than likely wouldn't. Pushing his luck wasn't the best thing in the world or at least when it came to legal actions.
Lee's dancing was a little bit under in comparison to what Touko was doing and at the same time, there wasn't many dance moves in his repertoire that was 'clubgoing'. He would move his fingers into his pockets with his thumbs holding onto the edges as his shoulders would begin to shift back and forth as his upper body would begin to rock from one side to the other. Whilst in the midst of their dance, he heard pieces and words of Touko as he originally thought that she was just drunk but drunk wasn't what she was but in the grand scheme of things, it didn't seem like anything too worrisome.
He would chuckle as she spoke about taking on the world champ and she would ask about his time to which he would move his hands from his pockets and begin to bob his wrists over one another while still shifting his upper body from one side to another "A bit more than I first thought I would though I'm not sure how I would do against a champ so you must feelin' it right now. Go on with your bad self~"
Oh? How cute! Was he getting defensive now? Poor thing, if it wasn't so adorable watching him fidget and get anxious over there Corvus would apologize for being so crass. Corvus lifted his leg and left his heel resting on his opposite knee before reclining deep into the plush immaculate cloud. He stretched out his wingspan letting his arms rest on the back of the couch as well. In every sense of the word, Corvus was lounging, reveling in Alexander's discomfort with utmost tranquility. Wasn't like he didn't like to stir the waters but this was too much, perhaps it was the alcohol setting Corvus off on such a giddy ride at the sight.
"From California to Japan. Quite the move, what exactly are you hiding from?"
Even more body language feedback for Corvus to delight in? Boy oh boy!! It was getting too easy. Though the bait he'd thrown was far fetched in essence; Corvus had only know the Kairis family for their American roots, there was something beneath the surface eating away at Alexander. Corvus was too faded to not want to oblige and pick at the root.
"Indeed we are of the same kin Alexander. I just wonder where your head is at. With our recession into overall secrecy there are those Quincy who have grown complacent with letting the Shinigami roam free to their own devices. I however do not, wondered if we shared a similar mindset is all. Can't be too sure how Americans think after all, for all your lovely company Alexander I am still wary if we truly are kin. "
Corvus shrugged his shoulders briefly before continuing, maintaining a relaxed air about him.
"You see Alexander, my family earned prominence and grandeur that you see around you simply because we hold dear to our Quincy blood. No shinigami is safe in my home, are they in yours?"
Corvus smiled a lazy smile as he posed the question. It was as loaded as a freshly cocked pistol with the safety off, the answer was certainly an important one.
He paused, mentally reflecting on the bleak summer night when his father announced that they were moving to Japan. He sat in his room, clutching his frame with his knees pressed against his chest, while his father boasted about how fun it would be to move somewhere with more Quincy. The Kairis family roots brewed in New Orleans, where they were in their prime acting as mediums and witch doctors and the like; knowing this Alexander couldn't help but wonder why they couldn't just move there, but his father explained that it wouldn't be a good influence and that they needed to go somewhere with a more potent spiritual activity. His mother harped on, supporting his father's decision while Alexander protested time and time again. He didn't need to run away, he wasn't hiding, he wasn't a coward like them.
"Nah, see you misunderstood. I wasn't the one hiding, he was, cause see I don't have a reason to hide."
Alexander had heard of the brutality that the Koeing's placed upon the Shinigami tyrants, being one of the few families that started the feud between the two groups. From what he was told they were the same as they had been in the old days, only now they knew how to keep themselves under the radar. The newer generation of the Kairis family on the other hand had grown content with letting bygones be bygones, however there was still a handful that promised they would get revenge on those bastards. Alexander was one of them. Growing up he had never understood the impact that the Shinigami had on the Quincy tradition, but as the years went way he slowly began to develop a detestation for the Shinigami swine that had nearly slaughtered his entire family during that war and thereafter.
In truth, his abhorrence towards them came during his 13th year when he began to study more and more and pick up on the Quincy culture that had almost been lost in the sea of the past. And it was during this year that he found that many of his aunts and uncles had been killed, as had his cousins, and other potential family members; but to add insult to injury it was because of them that his grandparents were ridden with paranoia and fear with each passing day that a Shinigami would come to claim their lives.
Now admittedly Alexander did find himself in fear of the tyrants whom were very skilled in committing genocide. But on the day that he successfully fought and killed his first Shinigami was the day that he was washed of all those fears, and it was replaced with a blood lust that only served to grow whenever he came across a demon in a black cloak.
His curved lips turned into a smile and the white-haired Quincy proceeded to lean forward. His hands moved to rest under his chin before he proceeded to speak.
"My dear Corvus, I'm not too sure how other Americans feel regarding the matter and frankly I don't care, that's there business not mine. But for me...asking such a question is like asking if a sheep is safe going into a wolf's den."
What a doll he was. Just look at him over there. Reddening like Rudolph's nose, a tomato in full bloom. Alexander was buzzin no doubt and Corvus was already cruisin on his elevated levels for the past few minutes. He was a bar owner after all, when wasn't he straddling the thin line between recovering from the previous night's antics and starting another set. Corvus was enamored. As if Alexander hadn't piqued his interest before, that clever little statement about his hatred of shinigami was the icing on the cake. How else did Quincy bond after all but through a mutual disdain for the scum of all worlds.
He snatched a bottle of Nuvo from under the couch for the very occasion that was about to occur. Corvus poured up four rounds between the two of them of the liquor and blessed the bottles as the pink tsunami swirled in the glasses.
"You wanna know something California? That smooth talkin' just earned you some of my own personal stash."
After he made a brief cheers and downed the shots, Corvus would fiddle with his phone, this time a bit longer than usual. The thing about touchscreens; when you're drunk they go from the best invention since Trojan condoms to the most troublesome of things. Not only that but he had to place in several clearance codes for what he was about to show was of the utmost privacy. He'd point the phone over to his right, behind his desk to the curved wall behind it and pushed a button on the side of his phone's custom elegant white case. The shots dulled his senses and hopefully Alexander's as well. The loud whirring sound of the wall receding into the floor pierced their otherwise coy and quiet conversation, cutting through the silence like a blade through bone; rough at first before it was over in a moment's notice. Behind the false wall was a one-sided window, allowing Corvus and Alexander the ability to see through but anything on the other side blind to their observers.
"I'd like you to come see something, and of course I s-should warn you if you've had your dinner recently but I'm s-sure you won't mind." Words slurring into a sort of romantic accenting of his s's. The intoxication was weighing lightly on him but he was very much still capable, just a little bit of alchy to loosen up the kinks.
As Alexander and Corvus walked over to the window, glasses in hand still as they sipped away at the nuvo, they'd see a dungeon of beaten Shinigami, shackled up in rows. They were mere fodder to the Gotei, faceless footsoldiers, the dogs of the thirteen court guards. And as such they would be put down and treated like that. They wouldn't be missed by their superiors, they were far too weak, not the ideal playthings, but they'd do for tonight's festivities. Some were unconscious from shock, other's dazed and spacing out as they tried to hold onto their energy, and a few fresh ones who hadn't had the pleasure of experiencing the Koenig's hospitality.
"Ya see California, tonight's a very special night in my family, and I enjoy your company so much that I'd like to offer you a hand in leading the festivities. I'm sure my family won't mind so long as you leave some fun for them. What do you say loverboy?"
Corvus's words hung floating in the air, lingering like an innocent nap in a hammock. Perhaps it was the slurs or maybe it was some genuine feels pouring through but that loverboy stuck out as Corvus tilted his head to the side, all puppy dog, awaiting an answer.
King? That was a new one. Corvus wasn't really one for romance. Not since Albrecht. It sucked actually. That bored expression he wears like a wedding ring wasn't attached to his face just for charismatic purposes. Don't be silly! Corvus adopted it to ward off the basic hordes that would want his affection. That whole too cool for school mentality was working wonders at driving away relationships and yet Alexander in their brief meeting had already begun to sway him. Funny how opposites attract? The enchanting Californian and our aloof little bar owner here were smitten. Or maybe this is the part of our story where Corvus read into Alexander holding onto his bicep for support too deeply. He was just drunk after all, not flirtatious.....right?
In any case when Alexander displayed just how giddy he could get over the prospect of violence, Corvus smiled and chuckled a deep little laugh.
"Now now Alexander, this isn't the time or place. Like I said, its a special night, and my whole family has been so excited that you're not just gonna show me what you got...you're gonna show my whole family on the club's mainstage. You're not the kinda wolf to get stage fright now are you?" Words smooth like room temp butter.
Well....here goes nothing. Corvus lifted his hand to Alexander's chin, holding his index finger under his chin, gently stroking it with his thumb. He may have put on airs that he was distant and blank but Corvus had the tamest, dove-like dexterity to softly pull Alexander back down to Earth's gravity.
"Think of it as a candy store, pick what looks nice to you and let's head on out front ok? I'll wait for u by the stairs."
Oh come now kiddies! You didn't think Corvus was that cliche'd now did you? That would've been full-on liplock city, kiss land at its smoothest. No makeout to be found here though. Corvus was a man of distance after all, had to keep em guessing or else how could he have his fun.
As Corvus let his hand fall from Alexander's chin he gave a precocious little wink, as if he knew just what he was doing before he walked away, waving the rosy nectar about. "Pick wisely and you might even get another sip of greatness babe."

Just Can't Stay Sober Now
Just Trying To Stay Alive
Yikes. So he liked the up close and personal method to things? The other Koenigs would love him, he was certain to shake things up. As Alexander approached Corvus extended his arm to hand him the bottle.
"The party's just about to begin."
As the pair walked down the spiraling stairs, Corvus made the texts necessary to his Generals and Assistants to clear the dancefloor and turn on the spotlight. In the main room of the club a large Octagon began raising up from the ground. The Octagon was sealed at the top with but one door entering, the chain link fence was in pristine condition yet don't be fooled, the blood stains that left the cage soaked were constantly scrubbed away, for morale of course. As if the Shinigami's spirits weren't battered enough, Corvus loved the surprised expression when they were thrown into a fresh cage not knowing what to expect although death was on the menu of course. As Corvus and Alexander walked out through the door behind his throne, Corvus hooked his phone up to the club's sound system, nothing like a good ole announcement to rally the crowd up after all.
"Welcome all to the King's Den! I'm sure you've enjoyed yourselves so far but boy are you all in for a treat. You see me and my family are all about hospitality and you all get a chance to witness it." Corvus paused for a bit as more secret doors at the edges of the club opened up and dozens upon dozens of raven-haired Quincy of all ages came streaming out cheering and applauding their King.
"You see the thing about hospitality is...not everyone's always welcome, and today we've got a few visitors who need to be taught what its like when they trespass on our territory." The spotlight dropped into the center of the Octagon and illuminated 3 shinigami within. Two shackled to the edge of the cage in reiatsu-dispersing restraints preventing their intervention. Corvus told Alex to follow him as he pushed off his heel with reishi empowered force and leapt over to the entrance of the cage. A small child with long black hair looked up to Corvus with a big toothy grin handing him a labeled sheathed sword. Corvus pat the kid on the head and gave her a little kiss on the forehead before thanking her. As he walked into the cage he signalled for Alexander to step into the cage.
"And as a special treat to my dear clan, we've got a guest here to take over my job as master of ceremonies, lets go and give a round of applause to Alexander Kairis." Corvus turned off the speakers and told Alexander in a whisper "Here's your moment Cali, you better make the most of it, I'm watching." Corvus gave Alexander a little peck on the cheek, not knowing if he would step out of the cage again. He tossed the blade over to the Shinigami and saluted them both by tapping his index and middle finger to his forehead and waving them off with the two fingers outstretched, just a bit of a send off to whoever would have their blood bathe the club.
As Corvus sauntered back over to his throne he locked down the club, sealing off all exits preventing any exit as well as sealing off any reiatsu flare ups from escaping into the atmosphere, didn't want to be interrupted now did we? Oh the wonders of Quincy technology at work! The King's Den was cloaked from any non-spiritual human anyways so its not like those present were adverse to the spiritual world, why not show them what the fabled Quincy of yesteryear were all about. He took a seat on his throne pleased with himself sipping from his bottle as several little boys and girls crowded around him trying to sit on his lap. He smiled and laughed with the giddy ones as the teens and adults made their way closer to the cage, alcohol and food in hand. Corvus saw Lee and Touko in the crowd and gave them a smile as he raised his glass to them.
Of all the Shinigami picked up from the dungeon, Corvus made sure to pluck up the three healthiest ones, the ones with the most minimal injuries, just so he could truly put Alexander to the test. As the shinigami caught his Zanpakuto, he immediately unsheathed it and stood poised to fight Alexander, at least he was spry despite his imprisonment. As Alexander finished his opening statement, The shinigami instantly shunpo'd to point blank range in an attempt to make a downward strike to try and cleave Alexander in half from the shoulder down to the hip. At least the Shinigami was making an attempt at freedom, its so boring when they simply give up their lives for free. If the sword would clash with the Alexander the shinigami would draw back for another slash, trying to batter him down in an offensive onslaught.
Corvus sat there swigging away with a permanent smile plastered on his face. One of his Generals of the family came up to Corvus's side looking sour as a lime as he told Corvus how he'd been upset that a stranger would take over the Octagon. Corvus simply retorted with a bland little statement about how change is good as he giggled and told the General to watch on. They were off the clock, nothing like being a spectator for once.
{For Vanilla}eevee from here on out you can roleplay both your actions and the shinigami's actions all in your one post. I'll simply reply as a spectator. Try to make it last a while haha since u have 3 shinigami in total to fight.
{For Lee and Touko}Touko Saitou and Lee Reiner if you two are still around u are free to post but pm Me if you're still here. We skipped you because it was over 2 weeks wait without word from either of you so just notify if youre still here. Til then we're continuing
