PERSONALITY Human emotion can be measures as six basic emotions (happiness, sadness, fear, anger, surprise and disgust). The following are what these emotions look like in Corvus:
Happiness
Corvus is not one to exhibit what would be called happiness, but something much more akin to pleased satisfaction. Though usually sporting a lazed blank expression, when Corvus is pleased with something he isn't shy to give a light grin, though coupled with his other personality traits this grin often times takes on the characteristics of a smug smirk. Similarly, as Corvus isn't a direct person, when he is pleased with someone he often behaves sarcastically as not to promote a sense of superiority in the other that would generally come from standard applause or praise. Corvus takes great pleasure in getting under the skin of others in any way he can; sarcasm, apathy, sexual innuendo, blunt domination, and much more gives Corvus the satisfaction in knowing he's left a lasting effect on those around him, despite simultaneously being a chill background person.
Sadness
Sadness takes on many forms and in Corvus generally exists in the form of a lasting depression and melancholia. Corvus isn't a sulking man but he's definitely got a few dark clouds looming over his head that make him the way he is. He exists in the background to maintain an aloofness that prevents attachment and the eventual sadness that comes with detachment. Corvus is very conscious and observant of humanity as social creatures due to his intelligence from experience and thus tries to remain cool and distant. If he can help it he tries to merely use people as tools for his own satisfaction, creating a polarizing pull on his mental health of living a fulfilled life while also nullifying as much pain as possible. It is for this reason that Corvus can often be described as a sociopath, despite having the sensitivity of a man attuned with his emotions.
Fear
His fears mostly stem from loss. Loss of his autonomy, loss of his drive, loss of power, the list goes on. If Corvus feels fear he usually lashes out and loses his coolheaded personality, falling prone to more extremes.
Anger
Corvus is a man brimming with subtle anger. His past has left him scarred and for that reason he is full of anger. However it is this anger that drives him and gives him his strength. Anger breeds perseverance and thus Corvus is an awfully resilient man, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Corvus can keep many of his more extreme emotions under check for the most part because his anger has shown him the power that comes from control. Control is very important to Corvus and drives him to remain aloof and coolheaded. Much of his anger is internalized at himself for his past but he uses it to keep him stable as he consciously self-aware. When he does let go of his control, usually within reason, Corvus can be seen as callous, blunt, and ruthlessly bloodthirsty.
Surprise
When Corvus is surprised, often he feels a sense of happiness and satisfied pleasure as he feels he is intelligent enough to forsee most outcomes. With a large enough surprise Corvus also tends to become a more aggressive personality both socially and in combat.
Disgust
See "anger". Corvus is rarely disgusted but in the odd occurence he is, he becomes aggressive.
HISTORY
chapter one: a good pedigree A good pedigree is knowing your family name means something. Its knowing that history was on your side in some shape or form cause here you are a stellar piece of human biology, blessed with some of the best genes and some of the best stories behind you. The Koenig family of Quincies was nothing short of a good pedigree. Their status in Germany as a wealthy family of gamblers and businessmen ultimately translated well into more grandeur once a chunk of the family made the move to Japan in the late Edo era. Some of the earliest and most successful brothels in the shady underbelly of the Japanese cities were run by none other than the Koenig's who migrated to Japan to continue the bloodlines based off the multitude of Quincy families residing there. The Germans began mingling with the Japanese through arranged marriages and the immense fun of the festivities the Koenigs brought with them. The Koenig's however have a history shrouded in darkness to follow that good pedigree. In the origins of the Gotei 13, rumors are rampant about their viciousness and the Koenigs were one of the few families from the start of time known for their acts of violence against the Shinigami. Patrols were far less common in those times but the younger generations of the Koenigs were heralded for their prowess in the ancient arts of the Quincy. Many Shinigami were abducted during their patrols and tortured in the drunken stupors of the Koenig parties. At the center of these massive mansions filled with drinking and festivities were bodies ridden with holes, soaked in blood and bruised flesh. And what else but the ultimate party activity but to give all the drunk Quincy a shot at the still barely conscious Shinigami in the center. All in the name of a good time after all. chapter two: under the radar Over time when you party the hardest than anyone else around you tend to garner a bit of attention, even more so when you string up the bloody garbs of Shinigami on your castle walls. Eventually over time the Gotei of Soul Society began to take notice and Koenigs in their small spurt of sobriety wised up and figured to cut their losses. Not entirely though. The mansions and fancy bars from the 1800's had taken a step back to the new slums the Koenigs had relocated to throughout Japan as time continued creeping into the 20th century. Some even moved back to Germany to lie low under the radar. A group of Koenigs known as the Kings, derived from the origin of their family name, who had been the children of the first Koenigs to organize the Gulags and death-pits that earned the Koenigs their blood-stained reputation with the Shinigami, took much of their wealth and amassed it into some of the most run down buildings in the lower wards of Japan but made sure that the interior still held the grandeur of their previous homes. Large pink and purple diamond chandeliers draped from the ceilings, large feasts of steak and filets and the greatest looking food to come from the area lined the tables. The only difference to stand out in the King's Bars were the octagon cages in the center. Instead of massive firing ranges soaked with the putrid blood of Shinigami, there were octagon rings where fists fights and the clashing of gloves were the norm. The Shinigami were less abundant in these times and simply were bouts between daring humans, Koenig contenders, and served as a training ground for the young. Over time the Koenigs adapted their fighting style to accompany these new fighting grounds, leaving many Koenigs well-versed in close combat fighting over the previous archers of the family. Though the salt was still in the wounds of many elders, once the Shinigami and Quincy blood fued finally came to a boil that culminated in the soul reaper filth purging the quincies in the Quincy Massacre, the Koenigs counted their lucky stars that they had pre-emptively relocated and flew under the radar leaving them for the most part untouched from the Shinigami strikes, raids, and attacks. Those that were less joyous to be lucky started up the tradition of capturing Shinigami and torturing them publicly, just now in the low profile bars. These re-envisioned gulags didn't garner too much outside attention and Koenig casualties during the massacre was largely minimal. So why not use strung up Shinigami as punching bags? Old habits die hard. It was in these raucous bars that young Corvus grew up in and took a firm hold and love to her pure-blooded entirely fierce family. Corvus's family were certainly not shy about raising him up in the Quincy tradition and his training started early as far as knowledge about their God and Ways went. Corvus didn't care for mention or existence of a god figure until he learned that all that he was came from this God. A new zeal emerged and Corvus eventually became King Albrecht Koenig IV's right hand from the tender age of 13. King Albrecht Koenig was the 4th generation from the original line of Koenig's that moved from Germany to Japan and as such was viewed with a bit of superiority of all the Kings despite his young age. Corvus's zeal toward the Koenig way of partying and fighting earned Albrecht's attention easily despite his youth. The icing on the cake was him manifesting a double-edged axe and rending the flesh of a poor unsuspecting Shinigami that had just been tending to patrols in the nearby area. Nothing more entertaining than watching teenage boy heave axes in a Shinigami, with nothing but the gnashig of tendons and the rowdy crowd cheering him on, as the King observed with lustful eyes of the kid's potential. The Selektierung didn't hurt the Koenigs too much because of the intense philosophy to keep the bloodline pure, disdain wasn't quite met with those who interbred, but there was certainly a bit of sly contempt. However for Corvus, the Selektierung simply affirmed his pride. Fast forward a few years and Corvus sprouted into quite the young man. He was known around the community as Albrecht's right hand as a suave diplomat in familial affairs as well as in combat, and outside of the politics of the family, Corvus had a reputation as a ladies man. However behind closed doors, the now 32 year old Albrecht and the 20 year old Corvus were lovers. Albrechts behaved as a mentor over their years of working together to maintain the dwindling clan of Quincies and a budding romance formed. Albrecht was not the smoothest of Kings and there were those who sought to usurp his rule for their own. When word got out of their love, in an effort to contain the situation Albrecht proposed a fight to the death that would leave the victor as King of Koenig. In a private talk, Corvus was infuriated but it proved to be the only solution as the alternative would be for Albrecht to be executed for the crime of being romantically involved with a direct subordinate. When the bout came to, Albrecht and Corvus fought with their all and were evenly matched as Corvus learned everything from Albrecht. However in a final act of love, Albrecht intentionally hesitated on the killing blow, and Corvus in his maddened state of bloodlust attributed to the Koenig bloodline, did not even flinch as he cleaved Albrecht from shoulder to stomach. It was instantly sobering and like watching a rabid dog be relieved from its madness, Corvus felt a part of him die that day he had slain his one love. The crowd roared and Corvus's coronation as King of Kings, Koenig die Koenig, saw him take over the family as its head.

In addition, it also masks any kind of item or power one possesses, making them look like a weak, powerless human, thus becoming virtually invisible to any spiritual being.
Name: Festhalten (Grip) Class: Reishi Technique Type: Supplementary Tier: II Range: 30 Meters Description: By tampering with the Reishi around an object, one can hold a telekinetic-like control over it; allowing them to use multiple weapons at the same time without hampering their prowess as a weapon wielder. Objects are tossed at bala speeds.
Name: Kujo (Expulsion) ** Class: Reishi Technique Type: Defensive Tier: III Range: 25 Meter Radius Description: A simple defensive technique in which a short area around the user has its reishi tampered with for two posts, so that the spirit particles become extremely dense and heavily weigh down anyone else who comes within range, allowing them to make a quick escape or get a free shot in. Opponents suffer a x2 decay in their overall Speed and maneuverability when coming into range of this effect.
Name: Festnahme (Capture) ** Class: Reishi Technique Type: Binding Tier: III Range: 25 Meters Description: A blast of half bala speed reishi fired off at an opponent that binds them instead of dealing damage.
Name: Tachiban (Sentinel) ** Class: Reishi Technique Type: Offensive Tier: III Range: 50 Meters Description: The user can create orbs of reishi and spread them around him. At will, the orbs can launch, at half bala speeds, directly toward the opponent. The user can create up to five of these orbs at a time
| CUSTOM Name: Banshee Class: Reishi Technique Tier: I Type: Passive Range: 4 meter radius Description: By vibrating the reishi particles that comprise an arrow, the user can emit a loud high-pitched screeching noise that acts on the inner ear from the arrows at a 4 meter radius. This attack on the inner ear causes disorientation, loss of balance, and wobbly vision. The screech increases in intensity the closer the arrow gets to the ear and with sustained exposure can cause permanent impaired motor functions and deafness if exposed for longer than 10 posts without a respite. The maximum audible range for the screech is 4 meters but at 1 meter and closer from the target's head is where the sound is at its most intense point. At equal advamtages targets can recuperate in a two post period from the impaired physical effects on the body, however the sustained exposure will still act on the target's ears and nervous system. The user is able to negate the screeching effect on their own body by naturally dispelling the reishi within their vicinity. Name: Mazerunner Class: Reishi Technique Tier: III Type: Supplementary Range: Long (75 yard radius from user) Description: The user is able to use any lingering reishi in the surrounding vicinity to produce transparent force fields walls 15 feet high, 5 feet wide. Before a force-field is formed, a disrortion of light appears in the place where the force-field will form at bala speed. The force-fields are charged to repulse anything that doesn't have the user's reiatsu signature in a set direction at cero speed as if the target were coming in contact with a high speed conveyor belt. Each wall has a certain flow of energy so that when the target is repulsed by it, it gets pushed away in a certain direction at such a speed that flesh would sheared away if no defenses are present. When a target is pushed away it is abrupt and if pushed in a certain direction other than the target was originally going, they are pushed at a sharp 90 degree angle. The force fields can be destroyed with tier III strength however the user of the technique can bounce projectiles off the flow of energy or create gaps in them for projectiles to be shot through. An unlimited number of force-fields can be created but after 4 posts each individual force-field becomes visible. {Flow of Energy}Because differing force-fields have a different flow of energy assigned to them when the force-field becomes visible they will have a different color.

Black- flowing in the direction directly behind the target Name: Pinball Class: Reishi Technique Tier III Type: Supplementary Range: Long (100 yards) Description: The user pulls on the reishi present over a large distance, bathing the area in the manipulated reishi and alters the kinetic energy of all surfaces and objects. By altering the flow of kinetic energy in relation to potential energy, the user is able to add to the flowing kinetic energy of projectiles and allows for the potential kinetic energy present in all things to be released upon contact with projectiles, resulting in constant motion. In essence this technique allows for any projectile to bounce off of any surface it comes in contact with. Whether a wall, the ground, a person. The surface of which the projectile bounces off of still receives the damage and any effects of the original projectile and in the case that normally the structure would be destroyed, the structure will be destroyed (i.e in the case of a Cero hitting a building) as well as deflected back. The bounce also resets the projectiles speed to its original speed. This technique lasts for 8 posts and no projectile can lose its kinetic energy until the technique ends or unless acted upon by a force one tier stronger than that of the projectile. The user however can stop the projectiles at will if he/she so chooses. |
ARSENAL QUINCY WEAPON Corvus's Axes
Corvus's Quincy Weapon of choice are his unique double-edged axes. The axes are connected in the center by a circular disk with a cylindrical handle at the diameter of disk for Corvus to grip the axes. The disk features two rings connected to each other with the inner ring having the handle, and the outer ring being attached to the blades themselves. The inner ring with the handle acts as a rotating cog connected to the outer ring that allows the axe blades themselves to spin in a 360 degree rotation. With the ability to manipulate the reishi that composes the weapon in its entirety, Corvus can also abrubtly stop the rotation and change the direction of rotation, as well as control the speed of rotation. At the outer ring are opposing dual blades similar to a sickle's (see the c image of the reference pic) that also rotates along with the axe blades and can be used to parry at the guard of the weapon if so chosen. The blades themselves have two sides, one side is a bright side where the raw blade lies and the other side is a decorative side and is darker. Attached to the ends of the axe blades are leather strings with weighted balls at the edge. The strings are in pairs of threes and allow for Corvus to strike the target with a force that can cause welts if the blade manages to miss due to the weighted ball. The strings are approximately a half a foot long. Because his double sided axes are able to rotate, Corvus has the option of locking the blades in a static position by manipulating the reishi that composes them, either locking them in a static double edged position, or by rotating one blade to be parallel to the other making it a single edged blade.
Corvus's arrows take the shape of the blades of his axes and can only take place as single edged blades to allow opponents to distinguish between arrow and the original. Due to the Quincy ability to manipulate reishi, if Corvus throws his axes he is able to retrieve them by manipulating and tugging on the reishi of his weapons. QUINCY CROSS Celtic Star Pendant
