Name: Youta Minami
Relationship: “Father”
Description: Semi-retired shinigami, he knocked some sense into Bea when she first came to Soul Society and was making a brat of herself in Rukongai. Taught her everything she knows about fighting and got her into Soul Society. She’ll always be thankful to him for helping straighten her out and giving her a purpose.
After being injured by a hollow who had a property to his attacks which made them resist treatment by the Fourth division he retired from active duty to take a teaching position at the Shinigami Academy. As a result of the attack, he has scars all over the right side of his face, is missing his arm on that side, and his right leg is stuck in a brace. His zan is called Oak Splinter and is released by the command “Spread your branches!” His shikai is wood based and looks like an extremely roughly hued wooden sword, it almost looks like he’s wielding a branch that just happens to resemble a sword. With it he can grow and manipulate wood. He can use this to fight as his full potential for a while by covering his right side in wooden armor that replaces his missing armor and lets him move as if uninjured, however this takes a lot out of him so he doesn’t do it unless absolutely necessary. More often he uses it to create wooden target dummies for his students.

Description: Bea’s zan can be extremely annoying at times but she has a habit of noticing things that Bea misses or pushing Bea to do exactly what she needs to do even if it puts Bea out of her comfort zone. As a result, Bea has something of a wary respect for her.
The Story Thus Far;
>Died when the black plague was at its heyday.
>Made a brat of herself in Rukongai when she first arrived there, but was eventually set straight by a passing Shinigami.
>Learned all she knows about fighting and wouldn’t have gotten into the Academy if it wasn’t for that Shinigami. She regards him like a father.
>Average student in the Academy.
>Applied to, and was accepted to, the first division upon graduating.
>Has been working in the first division for 51 years at this point.
>Most of that time has been spent on a long term assignment scouring the most inhospitable parts of the globe for the odd lost soul in need of soul burial. In particular Antarctica. Only recently returned.
>Has focused most of her training while on assignment on fully mastering her shikai and preparing to try for Bankai. She’s actually really, really close.
