PERSONALITY

You know that loud, boisterous character that always has the spotlight? The hot blooded shounen-type whose life is the centerpiece of a material, with their friends revolving around them?

Noriyuki Fujiwara is not that character.

In fact, it wouldn't be farfetched to say you might miss him entirely. A taciturn individual who is calm most of the time, Noriyuki prefers to keep to his own business and the small ring of friends he has amassed during his time in Naruki High School. During the times he does go and open his mouth, he is usually saying something that's either sarcastic, teasing, or insightful. "Live and let live" is a personal philosophy of his, which is surprising given the kind of stimuli he's surrounded himself with. One of Noriyuki's strongest aspects is the fact that he always has an open shoulder and is willing to help those in need. He is not self-sacrificing to a dangerous degree however and will let someone know if he is unavailable to help them. He has no regrets in the choices he makes in life and is very rarely seen angry. Some of his hairpin triggers are violence being committed against his friends and those who look down their noses at others. He has a dislike of Shinigami for what they did to his ancestors, but considers the feuding between the Quincy and Shinigami far into the past. It doesn't concern him...

...That is, of course, until he's acting as "Agent 74."

Hiding his face behind a mask, this unknown Quincy has gained the ire of the Soul Society due to his frequent assassinations of Shinigami of the Tenth Division patrolling Naruki City. While under this guise Noriyuki can best be described as an arrogant, confident "trickster." He enjoys toying around with his assassination targets and has developed the ability to switch his personality, actions, and outfits to suit his needs. He is a deadly, seemingly weak warrior who has been trained in the upper echelon of a shadowy organization comprised of spiritual races intent on fighting for their independence through terrorist means. Noriyuki justifies his actions while under his Agent 74 persona by claiming to his enemies and friends alike that he simply wants to live in harmony with the Shinigami but there is still blood that must be exchanged for blood. The Shinigami never paid a price for what they had done to the Quincy and never even bothered to so much as apologize, so why should he care whose lives he toys with? It's also worth mentioning that Noriyuki is aware of the balance, and while under his guise of Agent 74 he might claim the askew nature of the balance can be dealt with if the Shinigami bothered to work out a compromise with the Quincy, when speaking as himself Noriyuki claims he does not give a damn about it.

Noriyuki's personality is closer to how he really feels/is, and his personality while acting as Agent 74 is how he has been trained to be by the Fujiwara Clan and the shadowy organization they have been members of for generations.

HISTORY

Eighteen years ago, Noriyuki was born into the secret Fujiwara Clan of Quincy. At a young age he was not only handed down this information but was also sent into an elite training program to breed "supersoldier" Quincy. These Quincy would lack in spiritual power but make up for it in pushing their human bodies to the absolute limit. Extensive analytical knowledge - most particularly in dealing with the human anatomy and assassination - as well as enhanced physical condition were the end goals of this program. Each member of the program was designated a different number and was sent out on field excursions when they were old enough. During Noriyuki's young life, he went through the kinds of hell soldiers at war would have seen due to the absolutely hellish training. One training instance involved being locked in a dark room with the stench of blood invading the inhabitants' noses. After five minutes, dogs were sent into the dark room intent on attacking the inhabitants. Through moving around the inhabitants would discover different body parts of the others who had come before, who had died to the dogs instead of killing them themselves. Parts of the dogs also existed in the pools of blood and the organization never cleaned up the old blood from the room. Noriyuki comes close to being a "child soldier" due to the training he went through.

Designated "Agent 74", Noriyuki was sent out on numerous missions throughout his young life and would assassinate a great deal of Shinigami through attacking their Saketsu and Hakusui. Due to the skill at which Noriyuki committed these atrocities, as well as the accompaniment of fellow agents who were far more skilled, no suspicion arose within Naruki City. As for the rest of Noriyuki's life, he started school as a very quiet boy with a disturbing aura. Those who broke through that aura were few, but soon became very close friends of his. As time went on, Noriyuki began to develop a genuine personality that was entirely separate of how he acted as Agent 74. Though the Fujiwara Clan heads saw this as a nuisance, Noriyuki fought back against them in his first act of defiance. If the Fujiwara Clan wanted him to continue assisting them, they would have to play by his rules. Refusing and growing angrier over this insubordination, the clan head attempted to kill Noriyuki only to have him retaliate by striking the man down himself. Numerous fellow Agents were on the scene and Noriyuki claimed that he had "snipers at various pressure points" of the warehouse that made up their headquarters. This hostile takeover did not put Noriyuki in charge, instead putting his much more timid uncle in his grandfather's place. The methods of the Fujiwara Clan began to slowly change over time as more and more Shinigami were assassinated and excursions were even made into Hueco Mundo due to capturing an Arrancar and forcing them to open a portal.

In the meantime, Noriyuki juggled his high school life with his Quincy life. Eventually Naruki High School came under fire due to attacks from various spiritual beings, numerous of which were attempting to raid the school in the hopes of capturing Noriyuki himself. Afraid that his social life was going to mix with his personal life, Noriyuki thought back to how the Fujiwara Clan had survived the Quincy Massacre and activated a hidden technique that he had finally found a use for. His spiritual pressure was erased and he hid himself inside of the school's lockers, evading detection. A plethora of excuses were used to cover up the raid, but Noriyuki was angry enough that he called the forces of the shadow organization together and delivered a message to the Shinigami of the Tenth Division: Stay out of Naruki City or you will suffer for your arrogance. Naturally they did not listen, and even more Shinigami began to die. Nowadays Noriyuki does what he can to defend his friends, lead the shadow organization of Quincy from... well, in the shadows, and recruit new members to the organization who may also have their own reservations against the Soul Society.
