It was a dull day for Kiku in his shop. He hadn’t much to do, being as he’d finished all of his repairs for the day, and his research was actually at a standstill. He needed to find himself a willing hollow, or another type of being to inspect, or research. The problem at hand wasn’t the formation of the material that could act as the substitute. No, he had the substance easily laid out, and could make it at a moment’s notice, but the issue he was having was getting it to stay in a solid state for more than a second before disappearing all together.
Stabilization, it was something he couldn’t exactly comprehend, or at least he lacked the ability to devise a way to force this way. So in the mean time he’d have to wait for someone to either provide him some entertainment, or at least be a help to him in his endeavors. His eyes slipped over to his cane, and hummed slightly. He reached out, and tapped the cane before the sound of a female slipped into his ears, speaking to him in a rather odd tone. ”Kiiikkkuuu. Why are you trying to save all of these humans? You know that eventually we’re going to find that hollow that leaves you in a state that you’ll have ea-“ Kusari, his doll spoke to him as Kiku for a moment gritted his teeth. She spoke the truth to a point, and deep down it killed him. His eyes flicked towards the skull itself, picturing that it’s mouth was moving from her talking. ”Hush Kusari. You know why I do this. The bounts have caused a disbalance along side quincy with either our feeding habits, or how we destroyed hollows. What I want to do will…ease the balance, at least on the side of bounts for our feeding.” Kiku spoke to the Doll before his hand retreated from the cane’s skull tipped head. His mind stabilizing some, as he looked towards the door, praying someone would come by.
He was biting back a curse as he made his way through the streets of Naruki. Wheeling his broken bike at his side. Its' chain having snapped into a state of uselessness a short while ago. Let this be a lesson to Liam. Blut is not meant for casual usage. Turns out that a normal bike does not last very long when exposed to supernatural levels of strength.
Hell, his handlebars were completely warped. A result of him panicking as the chain snapped whilst traveling at speeds far faster than any bike had a right to be going. His attempt to steer his bike to safety ended up damaging it even more. The collision with a tree afterwards certainly didn't help matters.
On the bright side, his bike held up long enough at such speeds that making the journey to Naruki was child's play for him. cutting the time he would usually take in half. Perhaps if he simply adjusted his bike to be able to withstand the stress of his Blut-enhanced body. It would become a viable way for him to make his way around the area quickly enough without using his much more strenuous stepping technique.
But there was still the fact that his bike was in quite a state right now. The first objective on his mind would be to get the vehicle back to full working order. He could make later adjustments once that was dealt with. Maybe reading more into Soul Silver and how the spiritual metal was made would give him some idea.
Finally arriving at the destination that some kindly locals had directed him to. Liam set his bike outside the building before making his way inside.
"Sorry to bother.." Liam began, only to stop himself as he took in Kiku's "unique" appearance. A red iris might be uncommon, but black scelra were something else entirely. "..you." He finished lamely, only to shake his head as he realized how rude he was being by staring at the seemingly young man. "You don't do bike repairs by any chance do you?" He asked, jerking a thumb to where his wrecked bike was resting outside.
The Company car traveled down the road from the main office. It was slick black and blended in fairly well with the other cars around them. The tint of the car hid the man who sat in the back, the driver focused on the road. He sat in the back of his car with a smile on his face as he sipped the centuries old wine in his glass. This man was one of wealth, and circumstance. He had jsut heard about a shop that his company did not own and he set out to make it his own. He smiled to himself as he finished the wine as the car pulled up to the shop. He stepped out of the car and his driver stayed where he was.
Alexander Kingsford walked toward the entrance of the shop, noticing the bike outfront, opening the door gently as he entered through the door and into the old shop. he looked around for a second before turning to the man who sat at the end of the shop. He was dealign with another customer it seemed. after a moment He smiled and said loud enough for him to hear. "Hallo Freund. Haben Sie noch essen Deutsch Rationen?" He laughed softly before beinging one of the chairs over to join his old friend at the table. "Hello Kiku. Long time no see my dear friend."
Kiku looked up from his counter, his body was draped over it so he quickly corrected his posture to be straight up. His head cocked to the side, and eyed the boy. His nose twitched a bit before smiling some.”I can repair most anything I can get my hands on, should the price be right. Whats wrong with your bike, and what caused you to do the things?” He said with a light chuckle, a tad bit of an accent that was common from people who spoke german growing up slipped along with it.
His eyes flicked past Liam for a moment as his door opened and you could just see Kiku’s disappointment as the man stepped inside. He knew that ugly mug, and ginger hair color anywhere, Alexander. As his words in german were spoke, Kiku grinned before cocking his head to the side. His own voice slipped through afterwards, his natural german tongue showing for the first time in awhile. “Schön, dich zu sehen . Hier für meine Reste schon ?” He snickered out before turning his attention back to Liam. In a manner giving the boy hopefully that he was more important than Alexander, and this was true. Alex just liked to pester him, the boy could pay him for work though…Or at least he better.
For a moment Liam looked over his shoulder to spy whoever it was who entered the shop after him. A businessman of some sort. If the expensive suit draped over his imposing frame was any indicator, he was also a rather successful one. While Liam couldnt quite place his face anywhere. The man was still quite fearsome to behold. He carried himself with a sense of purpose. That much was clear to Liam.
It also seemed that he knew the owner of the shop. For a second, Liam would have been content to let the two friends catch up. Only for him to realize that would lead to him simply standing around there like an idiot. So it was best if he get down to business quickly and let the two friends reminisce.
"Uhh." For a moment Liam was drawing a blank. He could hardly come out and tell someone that he broke his bike by warping the metal with his bare hands. As impressive such a feat no doubt was, normal humans were not capable of it. At least not one lacking in the muscle department like Liam.
"The chain snapped and I lost control. Ran into a tree." He finished, coming up with a hopefully believable enough story. Crossing both his arms behind the back of his head, Liam continued. "To be honest, all I really need to buy off you is a spare chain. The rest I can fix myself." That much was true at least, while Liam was hardly a whiz with machines. He knew his way around enough to fix his bike and get decent grades in shop class.
His hands drifted down to his pocket, pulling out his wallet. "I'd be willing to compensate you, if you let me borrow your tools and some free space for a few minutes as well as the chain." He jerked his head back towards his bike again. "I just need somewhere quiet to fix the poor thing up and then I'll be out of your hair.
Normally, Liam would be content to let the owner of the shop fix up his bike. But it seems like these two were old friends. Hanging around and interrupting a reunion just felt awkward to him.
Besides, he needed to do some work with his hands. It had been a while and he had forgotten the feeling of oil and dirt on his fingers. Maybe a small bit of repair work would be good for him.
Alexander smiled to his friend as he greated him back. he laughed softly and shook his head as the young boy asked if he could get his bike repaired. Alexander looked at him and took in what he saw. He seemed to be a well built young man. Normally alexander wouldnt look too long. He smiled to the boy before Locking the doorHe turned to face Kiku, But his words were directed to the boy. "Child theres a room in the back with tools enough to spare. Theres also an older bike in there thats in a fair better condition and made of much better material then the one out front."
He then waited till the boy was out of ear shot, his eyes settling on Kikus staff. he turned to kiku with a very serious look on his face. "Kiku , ich komme noch keine Slide heute angenehmen Zeiten leider . Es gibt Gerüchte von einem alten "Freund" von uns herumlaufen. Sieht aus wie Legion ist zurück. Sie müssen bereit incase er zu Besuch kommt." He said as he pressed his index and thumb together against his hand, as if rubbing an old injury. "Jeden Tag gibt es Menschen gehen fehlt. Kein Blut , wo sie waren, als sie verschwand . Er macht eine andere Armee Kiku ."
Needless to say, this wasn’t getting to be a good day for Kiku with the lack of projects, and then with what Alex said to him. His eyes hardened for a moment as he instinctively reached out, just likely stroking the skull that was Kusari’s sealed form. A brief wave of Reiatsu filled the shop, and before it would reach the door it was gone. From this small flash the smell of dead and shards of metal filled the air as a byproduct of his power. His smile, gone. In its place was a grim frown. His fingers for a moment played across the décor of the skull. He flicked his eyes to the boy for a moment, trying to decide on what to do with him. Alex had already decided to send him into the back, but the boy…he was a quincy. That was obvious by his smell. ”Alex, he’s a quincy. He can stay. If you’re telling me that Legion is back in town, then we made need a tiny bit more fire power to deal with him. I remember the last little group he had, and they were a handful for us both.” The tone that slipped from Kiku’s lips was one completely opposite from the one he had spoke with earlier.
Gone was the simple repairmen of Naruki, in its place was the old bount that on the battlefield many feared. “Tell me Alex, what else do you know? Am I going to need to go hunting tonight?” He said, his tone was like ice, like a clean piece of metal. Flat, but sharp. A switch was flipped.
Having someone who spoke German fluently as a caretaker came with some advantages. While Liam himself was hardly fluent. He knew enough to get the general gist of a conversation. Granted said conversation was completely nonsensical to most people and Liam had no reason to pay particular attention to their conversation.
That was until the shop owner called him out as a Quincy.
His head snapping around, Liam moved so his back was to the wall. Keeping both of the strangers in sight and ready to dive out the window if needed. His cross slipping into his hand and Reishi slowly swirling around him until Kiku mentioned that it was extra firepower they needed.
Releasing a breath he barely realized he was holding. The small amounts of Reishi he was ready to pull together was freed from his control. They weren't hostile. That much seemed to be apparent. If anything it looked like they wanted his help if Kiku's statement was anything to consider. "Who is Legion?" He asked, leaving the question hanging in the air for either of the two elder souls to answer. His tense muscles uncoiling as he leaned back against the wall. Arms folded on each other. From the way the repairman seemed to react, Legion was probably not the most friendly of individual.
"And what are you exactly? You're Reitsu is different from anything else I've felt." This question was one directed at Kiku. He could already hazard a guess as to what Alexander was. Either a powerful spiritually aware human, or a rogue Shinigami.
Alexander turned to face the voice of the boy as he shrugged off Kikus poisonous energy. He understood how he had felt. Legion had killed 14 good men and women the last time they had encountered him, and it was without a doubt that he was stronger now then he was then. The scar on his chest still hurt from when they had last met. This boy was to help them? how? Quincy or not... Alexander walked over to him and and stood close to him, placing his open hand on the boys head as he unlocked the energy dampeners on his Gigai.
He let the boy experiance his full pressure, on the top of his head. he watched the boy for a second before speaking, if they boy was still awake. "Legion is an Arrancar, A hollow who has removed their mask and gained the power of a shinigami. But He is unique. The pressure your feeling right now is the pressure He had 50 years ago when me and Kiku met him. Even then, We and Kiku were no match for him. We lost 14 other people that night. 14 people with more experiance then you have right now child."
Alexander poured out more pressure. "Legion controls the corpses of those he feasts on, Turning them into an undead army. Are you sure you want to be a part of this? Theres nothign wrong with turnign away now child. You came here to have your bike fixed. Not get involved in this fight." He poured out even more, gettign to the point where Legion had been. "the chances of us all dying are high here child...You may not survive this... Even i may not."
Kiku held an hard look as Alex decided to show off. His hand fully grasped Kusari before lifting her off the ground, then slamming her point to the ground. “You’ve always had this issue Alex. He can be of use for the zombies. Recall, if they’ve fallen to him, they aren’t human. He could deal with them while we focus on him.” He said, hopefully getting Alex’s attention. Though for a moment he had finally realized that the boy had questioned him. ”Young man, I’m sure you’ve heard of vampires right? I am of the race that caused those rumors. My kind tends to feed on souls, and the spirits to live. Some of us had changed our diet from humans over time to animals, or Hollows. I am of the latter. The reason you most likely didn’t realize I was anything was because, simply it’s impossible to sense one of my kind under normal circumstance. In other words, I’m a Bount.” He said as he flicked his eyes to Alex, and back at him. Before he fought Legion he would need to get back in training. It’d be 30 years easily since the last time he was pushed to his breaking point, and he felt…weak.
He probably should have expected the older man to start showing off. He has yet to meet a Shinigami, substitute or otherwise, who did not have a penchant for the dramatic. It seems that Alexander was no exception to that rule. He didnt move, instead choosing to meet Alexander's eyes and bear the weight of the man's spiritual pressure.
And bear it he did. But it was certainly not an easy task. Alexander's Reitsu was immense. Far beyond anything he had ever felt before outside of That Man when he was in a bad mood. But while Liam had slowly grown accommodated to Albert's incredibly dense Spiritual Pressure. He did not have that luxury when it came to Alexander.
But he did not let that stop him. He refused to show weakness in front of this Shinigami who regarded him as nothing more than a child. A whelp that needed protecting. Such treatment was not the reason he shed blood sweat and tears in his training.
Hell, he managed to stand up to Kiku's Reitsu without even flinching. Liam estimated that they were roughly equal in terms of raw power. But he had no idea as to how they would stand up to each other in a fight. As the Shinigami's Reitsu continued to bear down on his body, Liam's knees began to shake and his lungs seemed to refuse to draw in air.
But he did not for one moment look away from Alex. Instead he began to draw in Reishi from the air around him. Bringing it into his body. "I." He began, grasping the hand on his head with his own. "Am." The muscles in his arm began to swell as Liam's own Reitsu began to surface. The faint smell of gunpowder followed by faint silver flames that danced across Liam's shoulders. "Not." His Reitsu continued to build, slowly at first, but then climbed rapidly until it was equal with Kiku's own considerable strength. "A child!" He barked, now grabbing Alexander's arm with a grip far stronger than any human had a right to possess.
"And you can be damn well sure I'll be right there protecting the innocents of this city. With or without you."
Alexanders own grib on the boys head did not waver. He tightened his grip and held firm where he was with his eyes piercing the boys. He was strong for sure. But Legion...legion would slaughter him. His eyes however grew soft and he couldnt help but see how much this boy cared for the city just like he did. "Child..." he sighed softly and removed his hand from the top of his head and placing it on his shoulder. He looked at him as though he already saw a corpse. "Ive lived longer then i had a right to child. so to me, no matter how long you live you will be a child, please do not take it the wrong way."
Alexander let go of his shoulder and walked over to one side of the shop, picking up two masks that would fit their faces and looking them over he smiled softly. "You know, I had a son once. Back when I was a proper shinigami. He was alot like you Strong and smart. He was so determined to do good in this life." Alexander placed one of the masks on his face, and if Kiku looked at the mask, he would know it was the same mask from all those years ago. "When i left soul society, He stayed behind. Believing that things could be changed if he got stronger, if he stayed on the true path."
As he placed the other mask down near the boy, the older man would again look at him with soft eyes. This time with what appeared to be sadness beyond measure in them. "Some say there are things worth dying for child... Loved ones, a purpose, a god." He turned his back toward him and walked toward the door, the bracelets on his arms growing into gauntlets. "But there is nothing in this life worth becoming a hollow for. There is nothing to be gained by messing with those creatures...So if your prepared to die, if your prepared to join the collect body of a creature older then myself and lose what makes you, you, in both body and soul, then join me outside and we shall start your training. We have 3 weeks. 3 weeks before he arrives to get you strong enough." and with that alexander walked outside the store and waited for the boyt to join him.
Kiku would’ve let out a light sigh at the actions of both the being in his store. His head fell to the side in wonder at the sheer stupidity that those that actually had a form of mortality in the universe acted. Yes, those that were aware of Shinigami tended to fear death a little less as there was another life after the one they were living now, except for those select few like himself. When he died, he would be gone. Like the dust that he swept out of his shop every morning. Though his musing was cut short at Liam’s reaction to Alexander’s Reiatsu.
The way the boy pushed it off caught his interest, and in a manner that caused him to grin. Though the grin was something else. It was one that he got when he found something that made him hungry, or that he felt the need to feed. This..frightened him slightly that he felt this way. The need to feed like this, he hadn’t felt the hunger for the soul of a human in years, and as such a certain voice found it’s way into his head, begging him almost to catch the boy before pulling his head back, and eating his soul.
The sound of Alex greatfully caused him to swallow hard as the mask was put before him, and his switch was flipped. He knew exactly what the man was hinting at and it wasn’t a welcomed topic in his eyes. He looked up to him with a rare frown. His head tilted to the otherside. ”Alex, keep this in mind. Don’t return to my shop till I let you know it’s okay. You’re speaking of that subject, and it’s breaching on the line of breaking our promise to one another. You say three weeks, I say we give him 3 and a half. That way he doesn’t realize we’re onto him. It gives me time to do a little..bonding with Kusari again.” He said, as he stood from his stool, Kusari in his hand. He turned and went into the back of his shop before closing the door.
Liam waited and watched as Alexander made his little case against him joining. Going off on some tangent about his son. Perhaps he was trying to dissuade Liam, or perhaps he was simply making sure Liam's resolve was up to the task. Chances are it was the latter. Kiku wasn't much stronger than Liam. Yet Alexander didn't seem to be that bothered about the Bount joining the fight.
Exhaling a breath through his nose as the rogue Shinigami left the shop. Liam turned to face Kiku. "Seems I'm not going to get a chance to fix my bike myself. I'll be back for it in a few days." There was no need for goodbyes, no need for conversation. They both had things to do in order to prepare for Legion's arrival.
Exiting the repair shop, Liam didn't seem to be that interested in following Alex, instead leaning against the wall of the shop. Staring at the Shinigami. "Training with you is pointless." He spoke out. "Just by looking at you I can tell you fight close range. So our styles don't mesh." Judging from the gauntlets on Alex's arms it was a reasonable guess to assume he fought at close range. "You cant manipulate Reishi like I can, so I cant learn any new techniques there." As he spoke he began counting off fingers, listing the various ways that Alex would simply not work out as a teacher to him. "And you dont understand how Blut works enough to teach me how to use it more effectively."
He shrugged, pushing himself off the wall and began to walk away from Alex. "Its not that I don't appreciate the offer, but I have someone else who can train me. Someone just as strong as you who knows how to fight like a Quincy." Waving the Shinigami off, Liam began to walk away. "See you in three weeks old man."
Alexander didnt give the boy a chance to take a step farther then he already had. the resounding sound of alexanders gauntlet rang out like a shot gun to those who could hear spiritual souls as the ground below where Liam was going to step dissapeared. The boy was right, He was a close range fighter. But that didnt stop Alex from developing a fighting style that allowed him the same distance he needed to fight a quincy. But he wasnt going to let the boy get away with a long range fight. "Your Ancesters Developed many different weapons and tools for fighting those close range. they also devloped tools to allow themselves an advantage against those who were careless and didnt go all out in a fight."
Alexander took off his suits over coat and put it down next to the shop as he looked at the boy. the gauntlets shining in the light of the day. "I never Properly Intoduced myself before. My name is Alexander Henderson, Responsible for the deaths of over 385 of your ancesters. im going to train you so that you dont join them when you fight legions zombie horde. Because regardless of your form of fighting, Eventually the bodies pile so thickly your arrows cannot get through them all." He rocked forward and ready to slam his knee into the boys body, havign dialed his attack back to be at just enough strength to force the boy to use his blut or his speed to dodge it.
"I have an understanding of Blut that only other quincies have. ive shattered it like glass before and i plan to do the same to you." Alexander was done playing. This child wanted to fight Legion? Then he would be ready for when he came. "Thats how you build defenses, no matter what race, no matter what strength you are. You build them by breaking them down. So im going to break your shield, and shatter your Blut and then when its stronger and more durable. Ill do it again and again. And then well work on your speed." Alexander dissapeared, appearing behind the boy and back handing his arm if he didnt move. "legion is fast enough to move from city to city within a hour. Will you be fast enough to keep up? Will you be fast enough to dodge his attacks?"
Alexander caught the boy if he went flyign from the backhand, he stopped him from moving. "Stop thinking like a quincy. Legion kills quincies just like any other race. You need to think like a monster and under stand that even though you may not be facing him directly. youll be facing his underlings. The cryign undead who moan out for their own second death. they come at you, still looking human. still looking alive and unharmed. Can you do it? Can you kill them when they ask you do? can you destroy them as they plead for death and release from their pain? or will it be too much? like it was for my son, like it was for th countless others we lost when Legion last came to earth.... can you be a Monster and kill the children he has claimed? or will you run away?"
Fantastic, it seemed that this Shinigami didn't seem to want to leave him alone. Even after he had already said that more suitable training was available. And what the hell was wrong with him, using such levels of strength in the middle of the street. In a blur of his own stepping technique, Liam just barely dodged Alexander's initial strike. Liam was fast, faster than the average Quincy. But even then he could tell that his opponent was holding back for his sake. Just enough to pressure him instead of completely overpowering.
Reappearing a short distance away, Liam noticed that Alexander was ranting on about how he was some big shot who killed a bunch of his ancestors. Good for him then. He takes pride in his ability to take lives. Something that Liam doubted he would ever take any sort of pride in. Life was a sacred thing. Only to be taken in the defense of another. And even when no other options are at hand.
As the Shinigami disappeared from Liam's sight with a Shunpo faster than he could follow, Liam's own Blut activated nearly instantly. His veins becoming far more prominent on his skin, his body becoming far stronger as he drew Reishi into it.
But it was barely enough for him to withstand Alex's next blow. The backhand sent him skidding away, the force of it nearly cracking several ribs as he skid along the pavement, eventually forcing himself to a stop with one knee scraping across the pavement as he glared defiantly at Alexander. So the Shinigami wanted to train him huh? Forge him into a remorseless weapon capable of taking down Legion's forces?
"Fuck that bullshit!" Liam shouted back at Alexander, forcing himself to his feet. "I don't need to become a fucking monster to fight another one." Pointing one finger at Alexander, Liam continued. "If becoming a monster is what it takes, then why hasn't it worked before? And what makes us better than him?" He shook his head. "It takes a MAN to kill a monster. That's something you could done with learning quite some time ago."
Cracking his knuckles together, Liam spat out a small bit of blood that would land on Alex's expensive shoes. "Lets take this somewhere an innocent wont wander in." And with that, Liam disappeared, Alex easily being able to track his movements whilst using his stepping techniques. Would see that Liam was heading towards the local shine. The dense forestry surrounding the area providing the perfect place where they could train in peace.
Alexander didnt let the boy get far, grabbing him mid movement a nd slamming him into the ground, cracking the pavement below them. Alexander looked at the boy with a sad look, but it was hidden behind the mask he wore. He grabbed the boys shirt and lifted him up takign them both to the top of alexanders tower with a few steps. He held the boy out to look out at the city. "You dont get to decide where he strikes, Quincy." if liem didnt struggle alexander would set him on the edge of the building, facing out at the city. "A week ago i died... Im sure of it. When he plunged his hand into my heart and shredded it. But a friend saved me. Legion doesnt care about those people. he doesnt care if they get hurt, or if they die. But letting yourself get caught up in those emotions will get you killed."
The masked man pressed a button on his phone, as a massive bubble appeared around the top of the building. un seen by mortals and most spiritual beings, this bubble would allow them to train in peace without hurting anyone below. alexander threw off his gigai. and it landed on the building roof as he cracked his neck from the smaller suit. "You want to be a Man and fight the monsters that come?" he smiled softly as the mask on his face shattered from his energy. his left eye blazing a strange blue color. "Then show me what a man can do against a monster!"
Pavement tasted awful. Did you know that? Letting out a small gasp, as his Blut once again saved him from turning into a messy stain on the ground, Liam couldn't do much as Alex unceremoniously dragged him to his building for even more pointless training.
"So let me get this straight." Liam began, picking himself up off the ground. Shaking off dust and wiping away blood that dribbled down the side of his cheek. "He already kicked your ass and instead of training yourself, you just waste both of our time. Attempting to train me in methods that have already failed." The Reishi in the air around them began to flow towards Liam, taking form of the teen's familiar revolver bow. As that formed, a curious thing began to happen to the boy's Reiatsu.
It began to rise considerably. When he had just met Alex, Liam's strength could be considered on par with that of a seated officer. But it seems that over the course of literal minutes, the boy's power began rising exponentially to the level of a lieutenant for no logical reason aside from Liam's own stubborness forcing himself to grow stronger in the midst of battle.
"I've decided I don't like you." With a snap of his fingers, five orbs of condensed Reishi appeared in the air around him. Three of them firing off in order to strike at Alex.
But like with many of Liam's opening moves, it was merely meant to distract the Shinigami. Disappearing in a blur of Hirenkyaku, Liam would attempt to catch Alex off-guard by appearing at his side. The Quincy's bow charged with a more powerful arrow. Hopefully managing to catch Alex while he was dealing with the Tachiban orbs.
" Now shut up and let me show you what a man can do."
And with that, he let loose one of his arrows. A bright blue blast of Reishi comparable to that of a Hollow's cero at almost point-blank range.
{Spoiler}Name: Tachiban (Sentinel) Class: Reishi Tier: III Type: Offensive Range: 50 Meters Description: The user can create orbs of reishi and spread them around him. At will, the orbs can launch, at half bala speeds, directly toward the opponent. The user can create up to five of these orbs at a time.
Alexander didnt flinch when the sentry orbswere fired toward him. Although the impact tickled his skin, he felt nothing more then a gentle irritation at its explsive force upon his skin. even with the cloud of dust the explosions made covering his face, his shikais passive sensory skill let him see the world in full detail. he didnt move when Liem put the weapon nearly against his skin. Alexander actually positioned himself to take the blast fully on the chin. As the dust settled fromt he blast of the cero like beam there was no movement for a split second.
a massive hand shot out of the dust cloud and would grab liem by the face pulling him off the ground and into the air as alexander stood there, holding the boy up. his metal covered hand squezing the boys face hard. "Is this the power a man can summon forth?" His knee would met the boys stomuch full force. "IS THIS ALL YOU HAVE TO SHOW FOR YOUR TALK OF BEATING MONSTERS AS A MAN!?" the attacks kept coming, as alexander brutalized the young boys body, the blows echoing through out the bubble as they landed against his flesh. he kicked the boy away and into the side of the bubble as he let go of his face and the bubble would shimmer.
You should kill him here...hes too weak to fight legion. You'd be saving him from a fate worse then death. Alexander ignored the voice that spoke in his head. He didnt need to kill this boy. He needed to make him stronger. "Stand up. Were no where near done. By the time 3 weeks is done youll be strong enough to fight legion with enough confidence in your power and defenses that even if i and kiku fall you might still be able to do the job."
As he lay there after receiving a rather unbarred beat down from Alex, a rather amusing thought came into Liam's mind. The desperation, the anger and the general poor train of thought lead to a rather amusing conclusion. Letting out a barely audible chuckle, Liam shifted his weight to rise to his knees. His battered body screaming in protest as he forced himself to his feet.
His low chuckle quickly grew into a slightly hysteric laughter. His eyes blazing with contempt as he stared down Alex. "Considering how well YOU did against someone stronger than you. I'd say it went pretty well. I'm in better shape than you apparently were." Despite the fact that each breath caused his ribs to ache, Liam continued chuckling. As if Alex's mere existence was a massive joke to him. And in a way, it was.
"If you fall? I might?" Liam echoed, now standing up straight once more. The young Quincy was not in good shape. With one eye swollen shut, numerous bruises were spread across his body courtesy of the Shinigami across from him.
"With such a shitty resolve no wonder you lost." In battle, in the things that matter, one must never doubt themselves. Even the slightest bit of self-doubt in one's mind could spell disaster. It seemed to Liam that all of Alex's previous defeats have shaken his resolve.
Spreading his arms out, almost as an invitation to Alex, Liam's cocky grin still wasn't wiped from his face. "Come on then you fucking failure. Show me what you've got! Show me if a Monster can break the resolve of a man!"
