LIFE'S A BARREL O' MONKEYS, GO BANANAS

THEgentle pitter patter of rain, muffled by damp concrete as a dull and dreary sky weeps for the earth below, her tears cascading in droves as they glisten the ground in soft yet gentle nigh inaudible splashes. The clouds themselves are silent, yielding no shouts of thunder no claps of lightning, only the gentle sound of the rain falls down, down, down to the river, droplets merge and coalesce into transparent puddles that reflect the gray skies sadness, in the orchestrated flurry of nature a shadow stands wet amongst the falling droplets, his figure soaked if not drenched in the tears of the clouds, hunched over the river that seems to grow in the skies downpour of emotion, his violet hair clings tightly to his skin, made darker by its obvious wetness.
Raising a slightly pale, yet fairly toned hand to brush a few wet strands from his face Hepha gazed quietly at the river, observing each individual drop as it fell into the running water below, a solemn smile hung across his facial features, his gazed transfixed on the moving water. A wooden puppet floats by, catching his attention, holding out his free hand to intercept the nigh rotting toy, its cold damp wood sending a soft chill through his fingers, deep violet eyes now turned their attention to its blank, smiling face now vanishing with age, such a thing must not have been used for a while now.
Running a thumb gently down its rotting features, the stirring presence of a another distracts him from fully analyzing the odd piece of river junk, perhaps its owner is nearby, eyes rise to scan his surroundings, its faint but close. The question now was who, aside from he, would be out in the rain?
“There’s no need for any words right now. You and I, our eyes are talking. Don’t say anything, there’s no need for words. Softly come to my wet lips and kiss me. The typical words of I love you Seems special tonight. Why is my heart beating so fast? Now it is time.

What had her creators called it...rain? Liquid water in the form of droplets that have condensed from atmospheric water vapor and then precipitated, which fell from frozen crystals made of water or various chemicals suspended in the atmosphere above the surface of a planetary body that Humans called clouds. The liquid droplets of water crashing against the ground, creating a melody that only the melancholy could enjoy was icing on the cake to end Lana's day. She had always enjoyed the rain and the beautiful sound that rang in hear with each pellet. Her creators had always found that she had a strange way about her, in that whenever it was raining she would always sit outside with her eyes transfixed on the distance. They knew nothing of how beautiful the world was, they were uncultured in the beauty outside of their swords. The pink-haired fae walked along the moist riverbed with her black umbrella draped over her shoulder, her slender fingers gripping its leather handle tightly. Her eyes were transfixed on the ripples that were being created on the rushing water. The ripples were a beautiful thing. The septum pellucidium portion of her brain was beginning to throb in pleasure as her lust for life began to carcass her very being. She had always been fond of the world outside of her little pill. Lana moved on the lower level of the riverbed, closer to the water, twirling her umbrella in the air sending about a flurry of raindrops.
Such a pretty little thing. She was sporting her black, long-sleeve Erdem dress with the see-through floral sleeves, that were complimented by her Sergio Rossi pumps, with a red sunhat and matching lip stick that topped it all off. She was dressed to charm any man with her beautiful locks pushed to the right side of her frame. The heels of her pumps clicked against the riverbed until she came to a sudden stop when she saw a man with violet protein filament pushing out from his skull. Her rose quartz colored eyes lingering at him as she drew closer to him. Attempting to smile through her terror, she bent down stopped only a few inches to his left.

HE, did not move as it advanced towards him, it the proper noun for something which he smelled and yet could not comprehend, with its distinctive human feminine features one could easily be forgiven for being smitten with it at first sight. Disregarding its strange aura Hepha continued to gaze silently at the old toy, whatever it was that was approaching it did not give off any predatory intent at least obviously anyway. But being on edge would help neither in this situation so he simply waited until it drew nigh their skin ghosting each other as she made the first move.
Her greeting would be met with a momentary silence as the black vested, camo short wearing arrancar raised his head slightly to the sky in embrace of the rain.
YOU'RE NOT LIKE THE OTHERS
Not the best greeting known to man, but at the same time it wasn't exactly a fuck off either, his deep violet eyes slanted gently to the side, taking it in as it was up close, it was definitely more beautiful up close than it was from afar, with a youthful innocence and naivete that one could almost envy, whatever it was it was certainly oblivious to the mannerisms of the world or if it were it chose to ignore them.
DO YOU HAVE A NAME?
Of course it would have a name, but the question was more than that, it was a question of identity, who was it in the world who was it to it, and why the hell was he playing the pronoun game when it was well over, rising up slowly he gently held out the rotting wooden toy he'd been analyzing, an odd gesture but there were weirder things to do when meeting something you'd never come across in your entire life.
HOW ODD THAT YOU'D CARRY AN UMBRELLA IN WEATHER LIKE THIS
“There’s no need for any words right now. You and I, our eyes are talking. Don’t say anything, there’s no need for words. Softly come to my wet lips and kiss me. The typical words of I love you Seems special tonight. Why is my heart beating so fast? Now it is time.

When she woke up this morning and it was extremely cold outside; the world outside of her home was dripping with crashing blankets of rain, and the clouds were painted with a dark grey. She looked at the clock and it was 4 am, she thought the clock was tricking her but she had just slept for a really long time. She could sleep for elongated periods because her body was artificially made. Processed. She could shut her body down for long periods if she needed too, this was something that Humans couldn't do. The next thing she did was take a shower, but she didn't feel clean because her body wasn't really feeling the water that pelted her skin. Sometimes she couldn't even the feel the water unless she really concentrated. Other times she couldn't taste unless she really wanted too. She would put up a smoke screen to hide under the moon when faced with Humans. She fed herself on her lies, because the world was much sweeter to the mind that way. She was human ... she was human ... she wasn't really human ... she was a Mod Soul. Those words were all it took for her facade to break before her very eyes. The others. She knew what he meant, the Humans. She wasn't like them because she wasn't one of them, she was just posing as one. Her mind was racing at the idea of what he would do to her, she was an illegal existence. She was not supposed to be alive. Lana ... didn't she promise herself that she would never let her facade break? Her promises were falling through the cracks and she was beginning to grow scared. This was normal right? Humans ... they felt like this, right?
Her eyes made contact with violet orbs and she hesitated to speak. A lump formed in her throat and a wave of fear came crashing against her. Why did she have to be scared? It was his previous statement that haunted her. That's all it was. She was like a child coming face to face with the monster under her bed, he was her monster and she was his child.
" ... Lana ..."
There was something off about him, she was beginning to feel it now. The aura that seeped from his skin was that of a Hollow with the undertones of a Shinigami. She had never felt anything like this, it was something unbeknownst to her. It made her quiver just thinking about it. The rain didn't seem to affect his skin like it would any normal being; it was like watching water hit steel and slid off with leaving a stain. Her eyes were transfixed on his hands when they began to move, holding out the wooden toy that he had picked up out of the water. It was rotting and dying, falling apart with each passing second. Water seeped through the pores and cracks, pieces of molded wood falling onto the ground. She didn't know why but she grabbed it and held it close to her body. She still wasn't feeling the water against her skin but she pretended too. Shaking as if it were cold against her flesh. There was that lump again, but this time she overcame it with relative ease.
"Do you not feel the rain ... against your skin? That's why I carry an umbrella, so that I don't get drenched like you, because I hate the feeling of the rain."

SHE HATED THE RAIN, the very thought brought life to his cold lips as they began to curve into a smug smile, or should he say Lana hated the rain, it. . . .she . . . .her . . . whatever carried an umbrella to avoid getting wet, as was an umbrella's purpose and yet the very notion seemed almost ironic to him in a sense.
Then why come out in the first place?
He had not obliged her kindness with his own name but it wasn't something he had forgotten, nor was it something he would not give it to her, the introduction would come in time, for now he was intrigued by how well she took to the doll, taking it in her grasp and holding it tightly, it was as though she was its owner having lost it ages ago. The very actions screamed with undertones of lack of affection from something or someone she had once cared for, but you could not tell from the first glance.
Are you afraid. . . . .of the rain I mean?
Did he feel the rain?, it pelted his skin yes but not so much that he noticed it, to him it was more like standing in a shower of air only this one made you wet, were it not for the feeling of wet, damp cold, he would not realize nor recognize the rain at all. His hand stretched out, fingers extending slightly as drips of water rang along his fingertips, ghosting her cheek momentarily as he allowed the cold dampness to race along her features.
Its only through cold that we can come to appreciate warmth, and only through rain that we can appreciate sunshine
Words spoken without any facial features to go with them, his fingers curled into his hand as he pulled back, eyes averting back to the sky as a silence fell over the pair again.
My name is Hephaestus, I am the god of smithing and invention as well as fire. . . . at least thats what I was told it means, what does Lana mean?
