HISTORY

Alyssa’s story begins with her father, Akihito Fukamori; a promiscuous man that cared more about the amount of women that he slept with than the value of the relationships he built with any of them. In the brief period of time that he could settle down, he married one such unlucky woman, Konoe Fukamori, who gave birth to his first child, Ryosuke Fukamori. The birth of his son was hardly a deterrent for his insatiable lust and may have in fact done the opposite. He was neglectful, abusive, and his cheating persisted without regard of the consequences that such acts would have to the family that he built. When he wasn’t working, he was out at night clubs or bars to drown out any remote speck of remorse that he may have begun to feel with ludicrous amounts of alcohol and slutty women that were more than eager to sleep with an attractive man.

After about 7 years following the birth of his son, Akihito’s promiscuity catches up to him when his condom breaks during one of his many sexual excursions, impregnating a tourist visiting from Russia named Anastasia Mikulich. The news of her pregnancy did not reach him until she was already home and the thought of having a bastard child disgusted him. As per usual of a man of his low caliber, Akihito argued with Anastasia to either abort the kid or surrender the child to foster care. Anastasia was against abortion outright but giving the child to foster care was a difficult decision as well. Unfortunately, Akihito would have his way when Anastasia’s husband discovers her condition and, as a result, her treachery and forces her to surrender the child upon its birth. While in any other circumstance, Anastasia would resist, the crushing guilt and her love for her husband drives her to carry out the will of the two men. Anastasia’s husband even goes so far as to deny her the right to name the child once she was born. Her birth certificate, as a result, only has the name of her mother and her own name being “____ Mikulich”.

When turning the child into foster care, Anastasia also hands over a scarlet beret that she used to wear as a teenager as a memoire in the hopes that the child will one day come and find her. In order to wipe her hands of Akihito, Anastasia calls him to let him know that she had sent the child into foster care so that he can stop calling her and sever her connection to him for good. Instead of Akihito, it’s Konoe that answers since Akihito had left his cellphone in their bedroom. It is the discovery that Akihito was also married that answers Anastasia’s curiosity as to why he was so hellbent on getting rid of the child. In an act of spite, Anastasia reveals her identity to Konoe, her affair with Akihito, the fact that she had been pregnant with his child and his persistence to get her to terminate it.

A stunned Konoe finally pieces it all together: the many times Akihito came home drunk or not at all; his apprehension to her questioning of where he was; his frivolous spending on things she was never told about; and his neglect of his own family. After the conversation with Anastasia, Konoe confronts Akihito later that evening after he had spent yet another night out at the bar although this time, his date had seen through his womanizing personality and blew him off, leaving him soured. Normally, Konoe would avoid confrontation when Akihito was drunk, but in her rage, she didn’t care. An argument ensued that led to physical violence on the part of Akihito in front of Ryosuke who answered with violence of his own. Not two weeks later, Konoe filed for divorce. Akihito opted to settle out of court due to the vast amount of evidence of violence, and adultery; surrendering the house and custody of Ryosuke. The once rebellious Ryosuke finally straightened up, as a result, as did Konoe now that she didn’t deal with the stress of having a neglectful and violent partner.

In Russia, the nameless child was sent into the care of one of the few remaining Foster families close to the Siberian tundra. Only the most basic necessities were given to her due to the large amount of children that shared the same home along with her. These abandoned youths and orphans ranged from an infant to nearly an independent adult. Knowing that the baby lacked a name, the foster mother took the color of the beret she was holding, resulting in her name being “Alyy” which was Russian for “Scarlet”. This was not out of her affection for the toddler but for the convenience of discerning which child was which.

Alyy grew up in an environment where her strict foster parents did not care as to what any of the children did. Fights frequently broke out among the different age groups, most were bullied, and many starved for days before they could get an ounce of food either because the foster parents forgot to feed them or because it was taken from them by the teenagers. Once Alyy learned how to walk and picked up Russian from listening to the children around her, she was pretty much left to fend for herself in the hostile foster home. It didn’t take her long to figure out that the best way to survive was to be as invisible as possible. As such, she chose not to befriend any of the other children her age and kept to herself in any other situation. Instead, she read some of the books that the foster parents kept around the house, using her hand-me-down clothing to keep warm in the Siberian winters.

Reading books helped her to become a bit more intelligent than those around her and also sparked more profound thoughts. She began to wonder who her real parents were, why was she placed in a home with so many people where half of them hardly receive any attention at all, and what lies in the future for a child like her that doesn’t have an education. She also didn’t know why no one came to adopt any of them. The only thing she could really know for sure is that the beret she owns is the only piece of evidence that she had a family outside her current one. It was the only thought she could really cling to for solace and developed a deep love for the beret. As her hair began to grow out more, she began to wear it actively instead of just holding it, using the slightly large head accessory to cover her unusual silver hair.

Approaching 8 years of age, Alyy spent most of her time reading, learning about the world around her beyond the snow and ice outside as well as different skills such as knitting and methods of keeping warm. It was also around this time that her spiritual powers began to awaken thanks to her many hours of deep concentration which gave her the ability to see spirits, though none ever appeared in the foster home. By the time she reached 10 years old, Alyy’s intelligence had risen quite significantly, but her social skills were nearly non-existent. While the other children would normally just leave her alone, one of the teenage orphans tries to take her beret in an attempt to taunt her for always wearing it. Alyy’s immediate reaction out of anger that it was taken from her was to lob a wooden alphabet cube at the boy’s head. However, due to the manifestation of her spiritual powers, the edges had been sharpened with reiryoku. The boy collapsed onto the floor in a pool of blood with a massive gash, larger than the edge of the cube that hit him, on the side of his head.

Alyy initially didn’t panic and takes her beret back. But the commotion from the other children creates chaos that attracts the foster parents to investigate the source. Upon seeing the corpse and Alyy standing next to him, they began to shout before one of them ran to call the police. Finally understanding what she did, Alyy panicked and ran away into the tundra, taking only her beret, a book, and her clothing. For two years, Alyy wandered the woods of Siberia, adapting to the climate quickly thanks to her increasing understanding of her spiritual powers. Once she learned how to command it, she took advantage of it to create tools for herself that she otherwise wouldn’t have. She turned ordinary twigs into daggers, rocks into grenades, and give wood the durability of steel. Alyy learned to hunt and otherwise survive in the wilderness.

One day, she wandered close to a military base and was confronted by a guard who questioned who she was. After being told that she had been wandering on her own for nearly two and a half years, the soldier calls his commanding officer, and question her further. The commander couldn’t believe that a 12 year old could have survived out in the wilderness and under threat of execution, demanded Alyy tell him how she did it. She demonstrated her ability to manipulate objects and fashion them into tools with just the influence of her reiryoku before him, astounding both him and the platoon that came to investigate. While spiritual beings were known to them, none of them had seen it done by a small girl. Almost as soon as Alyy noted that she had no family, the commander took her in to send her to a military prep school and make use of her skills.

Alyy knew well enough that her powers were likely to be used for war purposes, and initially objected. But the commander did some investigating of his own on her and managed to clear her name of the accidental death of the orphan boy years ago. Under those circumstances, she couldn’t really refuse anymore. Attending a school close to Moscow, Alyy, for the first time, had a warm shelter and bed to sleep in, and a controlled, formal environment for her education. She was given special treatment due to her abilities and thus allowed to keep her beret, given priority for food and other supplies that would otherwise be needed to keep her healthy. Alyy enjoyed the experience of having a real bond with someone other than a book or her beret, but her social awkwardness made it difficult for her to make lasting friends. This caused her to revert to her social isolation and focused mainly on her training and education.

Nearing the age of 17, Alyy was examined by a special doctor that learned a bit more of her Reiatsu properties and started a project to build her a weapon suited for her use; resulting in the creation of Izverg. But before Alyy had the chance to use it, an unexpected event occurred. Konoe submitted the necessary paperwork to adopt Alyy before she came of age as her file was still in the adoption system. Based on what was said, Konoe had been searching for her for years after divorcing Akihito and fixing her life to raise Alyy herself rather than leave her in Russia. Failing to realize that Alyy was still a child up for adoption, the school had no choice but to let Alyy go into the custody of Konoe. Prior to her move to Karakura Town in Japan, the scientist that she had worked with secretly allowed her to keep the uniform and Izverg upon learning where she was going; the spiritual capital of the world. This was only on the condition that she reports back some data on the weapon at some point.

After agreeing to the scientist’s terms, Alyy moves to Japan to meet with her new family; Konoe Fukamori, and Ryosuke Fukamori. As per usual, Alyy had the same sensation of awkward nervousness that she always experienced, but Konoe helped her feel welcome in her new home. As part of the adoption process, Alyy was formally renamed to “Alyssa” by Konoe after Alyy introduced herself as “Alyy”. With a new half-brother and step-mother, Alyssa began the slow, slow process of learning the basics of Japanese and the culture of the Japanese people. She also came to understand the reason why the scientist wanted her submit information on the weapon when she encountered her first Hollow. While these creatures were a mystery to her, their feral aggression, and the lack of awareness of any humans around it to its presence was enough to tell her that they were a threat that needed to be eliminated.

However, even after three years of living with the new family, Alyssa still predominantly speaks in Russian, with pangs of the small amount of Japanese that she had learned sprouting up every once in a while and her bond with her family had hardly developed beyond exchanging pleasantries. After submitting the information to the scientist and thus clearing her of any further obligations to him, Alyssa sets her focus on adapting to her new world.

Description: An experimental multiform “living” weapon designed by an ambitious scientist that worked in the military prep school that Aly attended. Dubbed “Izverg” by Aly, this colossal weapon takes the shape of a blood red sword whose length nearly matches Aly’s height, about one foot of it being the hilt itself capable of extending to activate certain transformations. The blade is broad with a black edge that curves inward near the base and on the opposite end at the tip and features a narrow slit near the tip of the blade. At the base is a silver metal that serves as a pivot point for the six barrel mini gun that rests just beneath the blade. A red bracelet on Aly’s right wrist acts as the power source and storage unit for the sword when not in use; materializing the weapon when needed in a red reiryoku light. The addition of Aly’s Reiatsu gives the weapon the same weightlessness to her as it would a zanpakutou to a Shinigami and the same restorative capabilities so long as the hilt remains. This weapon can act as a medium for her spiritual abilities though they are not enhanced or changed in any way.

Once she expends the entirety of her “ammunition”, she must wait 2 posts before the weapon generates enough power to create another belt. She can also use the excess energy from Cerberus to circumvent the necessity to wait as the reiryoku will be immediately converted to additional rounds if Izverg has not sustained damage.

Description: Izverg reverts to sword state if it isn’t already before a mass of black Reiryoku in the shape of a canine-like beast’s head with six glowing yellow eyes surges from the hilt and charges at Cero speed towards a given opponent and attempt to bite down onto them. If successful, the head will latch onto the foe, holding them in place equal to a binding spell of a Tier lower than the energy output and drain them of energy equal to a Tier lower than the ability’s output (must be stated ICly). Aly cannot use this energy herself; however, the energy absorbed from the attack can be used to repair any damage to the weapon that it had sustained. If the weapon had not sustained any damage, it will instead store the energy to be used as extra rounds for Fenrir, 20 rounds being added for each Tier level of the attack. If she so chooses, she may simply launch the energy as a wave from the sword form at Cero speed regardless of its Tier.

Description: As a secondary function of Cerberus, it can be used as a way to not only block an attack, but also intercept it and absorb it. Upon absorbing an attack, much like the leeching style of Cerberus, it can use the excess energy to repair itself or return ammunition for Fenrir. In addition, it allows for Aly to use that energy in a counter attack in the form of a wave or beam from the sword or mini-gun that retains the original technique’s strength and speed and any adverse effects that the ability had with the exception of release-only effects.

Description: Any inorganic object that Aly can infuse her reiryoku into can be turned into a tool or weapon of her choice. A twig can become as sharp as a sword, a piece of wood can be as strong as Tier II, a rock can hit with the explosive properties of a hand grenade. It is limited only by Aly’s imagination so long as it is something that is not already in the possession of another Reiryoku source, such as an opponent’s zanpakutou. If she already has a weapon in possession, the weapon’s cutting/piercing capabilities are enhanced to Tier II per strike. This is only possible on objects that are considered traditional weapons; such as a sword, gun, axe, etc. A twig enhanced to have the edge of a sword does not benefit from the cutting augmentation. In addition, she cannot enhance an object that more than double her in size and manipulating an object does not augment size or weight. Lastly, any object used defensively is treated as Tier II, as is anything used offensively and cannot throw anything beyond 100Ms or hit with more strength than the tier of this technique.

The technique leaves a crimson streak of reiryoku in the wake of the object. This lasts for up to two posts, putting the augmentation on a 1 post cooldown. Any object created through invention can only be augmented up to x2 cero speed based on the level of the invention. Bala for Tier I-III, and x2 cero above it.

Description: Aly unleashes a series of 10, 5 inch diameter orbs, or 20 inch tall/2 inch wide waves of scarlet colored reiryoku water at bala speed. Upon impact, the orbs expand to wrap around the object that they hit and then tighten down painfully with the binding power of a Tier II, forming 3 inch tall, 2 inch thick bands. In addition, the inside circumference of the bands shoot out into 2 inch spikes, boring into the flesh with the offensive power of a Tier II. These bands remain on the opponent until they are either forcibly removed or vanish on their own in two posts.
