”Sorry for asking this on such short notice..”
”I understand, don’t worry. Get some rest, Mikayla.”
”Thanks again… Be safe out there. See you later.”
”Later.”
Lowering her cellphone, Kiyomi’s thumb taps the “End Call” button on the screen next to the portrait of her friend, Mikayla Akiyama. Mikayla had called her earlier to ask if Kiyomi could take over her regular patrol route due to the interference of a Shinigami that detected her Hollow presence. Being one of the few people that know about Mikayla’s Rogue status as a Vizard, Kiyomi didn’t have a problem picking up where she had left off.
Kiyomi stretches her slender arms above her head while letting out a soft yawn as her long, chestnut hair cascades down the curve of her back, and comes to rest just below her butt. She hums a soothing melody as she slips on a white, short sleeved blouse, a cute scarlet red pleated skirt that came down to above her knees with a white frill hem, white thigh high socks and a pair of red sneakers to help accentuate her style while providing the same mobility and comfort benefits that she needed for the night’s patrol.
Ever the typical girl, Kiyomi steps out in front of one of the mirrors in her spacious room. Seeing her reflection, she takes the extra time needed to comb her fingertips through her silky locks and pushes some of them over her ears. Her hazel eyes do a quick search for any imperfections before grabbing the tear drop diamond necklace that was connected to her Fullbring and brings the two ends of the chain to the back of her neck to latch it, sealing it with a bit of her Reiryoku to make sure that it won’t fall or get torn off.
”Right. Time to go.” Leaving her room, Kiyomi navigates the wide halls of the small mansion where her family resided to the large front doors.
The sound of footsteps approaching from behind causes Kiyomi to pause at the door, ”And where might you be heading off this evening, Lady Kiyomi?” The voice was calm, and submissive, as if the person knew where his place was.
Her eyes come upon one of the family’s servants, Samuel, who often keeps tabs on Kiyomi in place of her father, ”Mikayla ran into some trouble, so I’m going to patrol in her place until she’s feeling better. I won’t be out long.” Kiyomi responds, her hand grabbing the knob of the door and turning it so release the door from its latches and give way to the cool summer evening air that brushed her exposed skin with a refreshing embrace.
”Do take care, M’lady.”
Nodding her head, Kiyomi turns to exit, closing the door behind her as she sets out for the evening cleansing.

The night was beautiful; there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, the full moon was shining overhead and stars littered the sky. Kiyomi takes in the scenery with a serene smile of happiness as her feet instinctively carry her to the front gates of her home. Another breeze sweeps past her slender figure, tossing her hair above haphazardly. She lifts a small hand up to keep her hair out of her face while her eyes close. ”At least it’s a wonderful night…” The young woman whispers to herself, collecting green reiryoku around her feet which propels her skyward with an emerald pulse of light.
Her home sat just within the city limits of Karakura, so she had a ways to travel before she could reach the inner city. So while she traveled, Kiyomi uses her height above the ground to scout out her patrol route for the evening along with potential escape paths just in case. Her caution is justified, as she wasn’t as strong as Mikayla was, and alone since Erika and Karina were likely home asleep. Her eyes narrow, mentally tabulating the positions of various landmarks that she could reference in the future in case she needed to. The heightened sense of awareness distracted her from the incessant fluttering of her chestnut locks in the high altitude breeze with each hop that Kiyomi made on the pulses of her Bringer’s Light step.
A hop, skip, and a jump was all that remained of her travel distance once she had mapped out the appropriate “fall back” plans in her head. Landing with a graceful step of her right foot which stops the rest of her body, Kiyomi finds herself on the roof of a tall building near the center of Karakura. It was nearly midnight but there were still enough lights on in the bustling city to give off the impression that it was still midday. Kiyomi idly twists the diamond stone hanging from her silver necklace between the fingers of her right hand while her eyes sweep from left to right in an attempt to find any possible Hollows that may have developed the ability to hide their spiritual pressure.

The high pitched honks of car horns, the collective murmuring of the citizens below and the occasional moments of silence were the only things that Kiyomi had taken notice of thus far. Lifting her right hand over her lips, her eyes close as she lets out a sleepy yawn. ”Will anything show up tonight?…” Her voice reflects the sleepiness she felt, the hand that she used to cover her mouth moves to rub at one of her eyes.
”Maybe there’s no souls to draw out the Hollow..” Kiyomi theorizes, switching her searching method from visual to Reiatsu. As she suspected, there weren’t any other Reiatsu pressure in her vicinity aside from the one or two Shinigami stationed on opposite ends of the town. It was starting to look more and more like this night would be a quiet one. ”If any Hollows do show up… I doubt it would be strong enough to give the Shinigami any trouble…” Tapping her finger on her lip, she contemplates whether or not she should call it an early night. Ultimately, she decides against it, knowing that Mikayla wouldn’t turn in early just because nothing had shown up yet. More often than not, it’s when they’re gone that the real action happens.
Almost as soon as she had decided that she would stay until the patrol was finished, she notices that the Shinigami on the northern end of the town had begun to move inward, not towards her, but off to the northeast. Out of curiosity, Kiyomi leaps off of the roof, practically bouncing her way between buildings and across the rooftops of the homes in the suburbs. Tracking the movements of the Shinigami, Kiyomi brings herself to within a mile of the Shinigami’s position, following his directional movement until it came to a halt.

From this distance, Kiyomi finally detects the presence that the Shinigami was closing in on; a Hollow. A tap of her sneakers against the tiles of a house’s rooftop indicated her halt of movement from using Bringer’s Light: her upbringing in an honor-based family preventing her from wanting to interfere with a 1 on 1 fight. As such, she remains in her position, purely observing.
For now, she quietly takes in information on the Hollow that the Shinigami was approaching, taking notice of its strength, distance, direction of movement, and any other Reiatsu presences around that Hollow aside from the Shinigami. ”It’s… stationary?...” Confusion laced the soft voice of the young woman, ”Is it waiting for him?” Intelligence in a Hollow is a frightening thing, especially since it was a Hollow with intelligence that caused Mikayla to become a Vizard. However, with only this superficial knowledge to go on, she wasn’t sure if the Hollow was simply resting after searching for a feast and finding nothing, or it was truly intelligent and not like the feral Gillian and Menos Grande that she often encounters.
Either way, she wasn’t planning on intervening until either the Shinigami retreats, dies, or the Hollow attacks her. Deciding to physically observe the Hollow, Kiyomi steps forward with high speed movement; progressively getting closer until she was just within a couple hundred meters of the imminent encounter between the two spiritual beings. Upon first glance, Kiyomi has trouble visually spotting the creature. But a more thorough search gives Kiyomi her first look of this immobile Hollow. Her eyes widen with a mixture of confusion and surprise as her eyes adjust to the lower lighting conditions of the clearing that the Hollow was residing in. It was… amorphous, writhing in place like a blob that was trying to do its best tree impersonation.

The ebony mass wobbles like jell-o, as if reacting to the Reiatsu of the encroaching Shinigami who was just moments away. From what she could see, there was no clearly visible mask or “hole” that generally defines the species of Hollow. ”Eugh, this thing is disgusting…” Merely the sight of this strange creature was enough to make her skin crawl. Shortly after her comment, a shout breaks through the silence of the night, sounding something like “Shakkaho”.
A streak of red reiryoku rockets across her view and strikes the Hollow with a resounding explosion that rocks the tiles of the roof that she was perched on. ”Yes! He got it!” Kiyomi exclaims, raising a right hand into the air above her as a symbol of her support of the Shinigami’s victory. The dust bellows away with a stiff breeze produced from the blast wave of the Kido, revealing the Hollow, lit aflame, but… There was something different about it. In place of the single blob, there were now two, the latter of which was completely unscathed from the kido attack.
The Shinigami stands with the same look of surprise that is plastered on Kiyomi’s face. Streaks of silver cut across the darkness of the night from the blade of the Shinigami’s zanpakutou. It was unknown if this blind attack was out of desperation or frustration that his Kido had done almost no damage to the Hollow. The gleams of silver slash in right to left motions across both of the blobs, which by comparison to the Shinigami, were about another two and a half feet taller than the attacking Shinigami. To their collective horror, the “skin” of the blob tears in the locations where the zanpakutou’s blade had passed through, and divides the two blobs into four.

The newly formed masses plop onto the earth beside the originals, slithering closer to the Shinigami in a sinister manner that has the Shinigami clutching his zanpakutou in fear while taking careful steps back to maintain an equal distance between him and the Hollows. To make things worse, each of these blobs were the same size as the original, single body, and each one had the same Reiatsu pressure and signature of the original. So instead of dealing with one Hollow, he was now dealing with four identical beings that could likely act independently and continue to divide.
Kiyomi channels her reiryoku into her diamond gem, cloaking the jewel in a translucent white glow that then shoots into her right hand. The white reiryoku elongates into the shape of a weapon and shatters to expose the figure of her Fullbring’s rapier. She stands up and lifts her arm above her head, where her bracelets were dangling from, and activates one of them as her eyes and hair turn blue, her rapier’s hilt straightens and flattens against the body of the weapon and her ears become pointed like an elf’s, a white and blue dress wrapping around her curves along with a pair of blue thigh highs and boots. A green sigil forms on her back which expands minutely and extends four transparent emerald green fairy-like wings.
Bearing in mind the problem of the Hollow’s dividing ability, Kiyomi launches into the sky, not with her Bringer’s Light, but with the flight characteristics of her new wings. She ascends to an altitude of about 100Ms above her target, her rapier poised off to her right side. Her left hand overlaps the right while it holds the weapon, directing her sights at the Hollows below while channeling her Reiryoku, creating an array of golden words that bear a likeness to the Old Norse alphabet.

”It’s 4 versus 1… I have to even the odds! Þeír Slíta Fimm Grœnn Vindr!” Each word she vocalizes triggers the appropriate word circling around her to glow white and snap in place in front of Kiyomi’s rapier. Completion of the incantation synchronizes the words like a sentence before her, symbolizing their combination of power and fuse into a teardrop sigil that encases the blade in a golden glow. ”Please work…” Kiyomi says with a silent prayer, rearing her arm back and slashing in front of her in a right to left arc.
The golden energy launches from the blade of the rapier as a crescent wave of energy, brighter than the moon glow just above it. In the blink of an eye, the wave of energy is already on top of the ebony blobs that comprised the Hollow presence. A thunderous crash, followed by the howl of a gale force wind reverberates against the glass of the windows of buildings nearby. ”What the fuck!?” The Shinigami curses with unbridled surprise plastered on his face, staring at the massive cloud of dust, debris, and pulverized rock swirling in front of him.
Kiyomi lowers her arm, her sapphire eyes watching the cloud of dust for any evidence of either her success, or failure. The only sound that could be heard at this point was the gentle clattering of rocks landing back on the ground after being catapulted from their original position. When even that sound fades with the dissipation of the dust cloud, Kiyomi’s lips hesitantly curl to a wide smile, ”I-I did it?... I did it!” She shouts with a triumphant fist pump into the air, clearly pleased that she had emerged victorious over her opponent.

The Shinigami lowers his zanpakutou in disbelief, ”Whatever that was. It took care of that Hollow… I was starting to th-“ He thought aloud before being cut off by the troubling sound of something being charged within the canyon-like crater that had formed from Kiyomi’s attack. Almost as soon as the sound could be heard, there was a visible, bright crimson light emanating from within the depths of the canyon. This light gave way to six Cero blasts, two aimed directly towards Kiyomi and the Shinigami, and the others being fired in random directions, potentially as a way for the Hollow to ensure that at least one Cero would hit.
Kiyomi, still in the midst of her celebration, could only react instinctively upon feeling the familiar sensation of an airborne Cero and quickly tries to dodge while surrounding herself in the dull yellow light of her Daylight’s Embrace shield which quickly shatters in the onslaught of the reiryoku beam. Kiyomi cries out in pain when the Cero slams into her arms that were used to shield her upper body and sends her careening towards the terrain below. Without proper footing, the Fullbring resorts to flexing her wings on her back and breaking the momentum of her fall, righting herself so that she could get footing with her reiryoku and propel herself skyward with another Bringer’s Light.
The Shinigami was a bit more fortunate since he was looking at the Hollow the entire time. He had more than enough time to Shunpo to safety; out of range of the scattered shots of Cero that were fired around the primary beams that were aimed at him.
Panting more from the adrenaline coursing through her veins and the damage she sustained from taking a direct hit from a Cero, Kiyomi holds her hands out in front of her, closing her eyes as the Nordic words encircle her again, ”Þeír Fylla Heilagr Austr, Brott Svalr Bani”

Similar to the first spell she used with her rapier, the golden words individually freeze in white in front of Kiyomi’s upheld hands, encircling them when they combine and forming the teardrop sigil again. Streaks of blue light ascend all around Kiyomi’s body, beginning to steadily heal her burns and working to nullify the pain that she experienced in the direct spot that her arms suffered the direct hit. ”It’s still alive?!” Her voice was laden with the disbelief that she shared with the Shinigami that was nearly level with her but still a fair distance away from her.
A glance towards the crack below, which had widened with the volley of Cero beams, shows the ebony blobs emerging from the pitch black depths, numbering as six instead of four. The confirmation of her failure leaves Kiyomi upset; not at the Hollow, but at herself. She had broken one of the fundamental rules of combat that she had learned in her apprenticeship as a swordswoman: do not underestimate your opponent. Her teeth bite down on the fingernail of her left hand’s thumb, contemplating what her next move should be. Meanwhile, the Shinigami begins to drift away, considering retreat as his only option as his power was vastly outclassed by the Hollow and the mysterious Fullbringer that had apparently saved him from being overwhelmed.
Before any plans could come to mind, the blobs arrange themselves in a circular formation, all six of them bending inward towards one another and begin to gather reiryoku. Kiyomi and the Shinigami stare with curiosity at what the Hollow was planning, soon greeted with the sight of the sextuplet individually forming a crimson orb of reiryoku that then collectively swelled until the mass of energy merges into one massive ball, likely a meter in diameter.

The sight of the combined Cero ball hovering in the center of the Hollow formation alarms the two spiritual beings still hovering high in the night sky over Karakura’s outskirts. The Shinigami attempts to launch another Shakkaho blast at the menacing sphere of energy, but the significantly weaker attack is simply assimilated into the mass of the Reiryoku. Kiyomi readies herself to cast another one of her Norse spells, though the Hollow was aware of her strength already and fires the beam.
An immense ray of red energy creates a column of light visible from miles away. The Shinigami and Kiyomi activate their high speed movement to escape the reach of the attack. The moment she was out of the way, Kiyomi’s head tilts up to watch as the Cero pierces into the night sky until it thins out into nothing. She snaps her head back to the Hollow that had already begun to charge another volley of the Cero that she narrowly managed to avoid the first time around. ”I can’t let them fire another attack like that!”
Steeling her nerves, Kiyomi uses her wings to angle herself down, aiming herself like a rocket, and then uses Bringer’s Light to propel herself at high speed at the Hollow “Stonehenge” below. A streak of blue cuts across the sky, soon followed by the dreadful red glow of a Cero beam charging en masse where the streak was heading. The distance between her and the Hollow quickly winds down, the female waiting until she was nearly at the center of their circle before activating Bringer’s Light again, resulting in the disappearance of her form and reappears beneath it. Kiyomi draws in her breath, the power of a Fullbringer coming to fruition in the form of her influence manipulating the properties of sound.

”GO AWAY!” Kiyomi shouts at the top of her lungs, the soul communication aspect of her Fullbring powers influencing the sound waves of her voice that causes a dome of pressurized air to violently push outwards, centered on Kiyomi.
The Hollows, as a result, were tossed out of formation with the speed of the very attack they were intending on launching at Kiyomi and the Shinigami. As they spiraled and tumbled across the sky, their individual beams of Cero fire, creating a spectacular array of red lights along the horizon of the Karakura skyline; one of which spears through the top floor of a skyscraper near the center of the city. Part of the structure collapses from the damage to its supports, raining a deadly perspiration of glass shards, broken pylons and concrete to the sideways beneath it. Hearing the sickening concerto of debris on the pavement, Kiyomi’s attention is diverted in the general direction of where the incident had occurred, her worried face showing her concern for the safety of anyone that could have been in the building when the Cero struck.
The Shinigami shared Kiyomi’s concern and goes out ahead, as he wasn’t fighting anyway, to verify the status of the building that was hit. The young girl’s eyes follow the blur that was the Shinigami’s body, silently thanking the male for taking care of the problem so that she could focus on the primary threat; the now scattered group of Hollows. ”Maybe with them forced apart, I can deal with them better individually…” She theorizes, suspecting that their bizarre strength and durability is attributed to being in close proximity to the original. From what she has gathered thus far, she knows that using any sort of cutting technique only forces their division; they can probably “share” the aspects of their senses, and can act as a single being even when apart.

Bearing that information in mind, Kiyomi makes the decision to switch back into her “Flash Knight” form as noted by the way that her hair, eyes, and ears return back to their original color. Her armor changes to that of a set she designed, inspired by the traditional armor that the Akimoto family wore many generations ago. This armor was white and accented with red and minor additions of gold, styled with a red pleated skirt, a white top that reaches down to her waist with an extension that reaches down to her ankles, a pair of white thigh highs with a swirl design near the thigh area accented in red, a silver breastplate, white detached sleeves, a pair of white belts, and a pair of white boots.
The outfit was fairly revealing for someone like Kiyomi, who was groomed to be elegant, prim, and proper, but she couldn’t get over how comfortable it was. Kiyomi exhales with relief in the familiar feel of the armor and how the durable cotton gave the softness and comfort on the level of a second skin. One of her prized possessions and a symbol of her pride; this was the appropriate outfit for her to wear during such a difficult situation.
Her right hand draws the rapier from the scabbard on her left hip, and due to her returning to her normal attire, the rapier had also returned to normal. She utilizes only the speed that came naturally with her Fullbring’s power, racing towards the first of six Hollow duplicates that littered the outskirts of Karakura, and aims to take them down one by one until she either eliminates the original or removes them all. Each step that brought her closer to her target, Kiyomi could feel her heart pounding with anticipation, as well as fear, not knowing what lied ahead.

In a sparce forested area on the outer border of Karakura Town, a single female Fullbringer bolts between the brown trunks of large trees and hops over obstacles with the precision and grace of a skillful swordswoman.
As Kiyomi nears the location of one of the Hollow “fragments”, she can see fractured or otherwise toppled remnants of the trees the Hollow fell through when her vocal blast had launched it. Knowing that combat was imminent, Kiyomi’s focus sharpens, her right hand tilting the rapier to point in front of her, as her weapon was primarily used for stabbing, rather than slashing. She leaps into the air once within range and performs a single twirl while a pulse of blue light rings out from the hilt of her rapier, wrapping a blue light around the blade. Thrusting her arm, a barrage of spear-like beams bombards the line of trees which the Hollow was using for cover.
The snapping of tree bark and the deep groaning creak of trees toppling and branches breaking fills the air. As far as she could tell, the three or four trees that fell had more than likely dropped onto the Hollow. This was soon confirmed when the creature, like a dangerous piece of gelatin, simply oozes out from between the bundle of tree trunks, branches, and leaves, completely unscathed. However, Kiyomi was not intending to use the trees as a way to eliminate the Hollow; merely trying to get them out of the way.
After Kiyomi’s initial strike, she holds her rapier in front of her, calling upon the well of strength within her Fullbring to draw in the moonlight basking the earth within the reach of her Reiatsu. In a similar way to the Hollow race’s signature attack, a bright blue sphere of energy gathers at the tip of the blade, steadily growing in size until it was the diameter of the average soccer ball.

The moment that the attack was ready, Kiyomi unleashes a ray of extremely luminous white light, easily drowning out the lights of the nearby city, the light of the moon, and the stars of the night sky. It darts through the azure at the speed of a Cero; much too fast for the sluggish Hollow to evade and is soon engulfed in the blinding light. In the moments that follow, its very molecular bonds are vaporized, leaving only a wafting black mist lifting up as the only indication that there was ever a being there.
Unfortunately, that was only one of the six, leaving five remaining and with the power that she had to use just to get this far, Kiyomi was already starting to feel the fatigue of combat. Her breathing was heavier than normal, but at the same time, she felt elated that she had finally managed to exterminate one of the duplicates. Just as she was beginning to scan the area with her Reiatsu to pinpoint the locations of the other duplicates, to her horror, she senses that they were right next to her.
Kiyomi quickly turns around, faced with the sight of the duplicates looming over her like a tidal wave, threatening to crash down onto her and swallow her into the darkness that embodied their form. Such close proximity denies her any chance of having enough time to charge another Gamma Ray Burst, and resorts to pushing back off of her right foot, giving her both height and distance to escape the grasp of the Hollow as the amorphous mass splashes onto the grassy field. Kiyomi lands some distance away from her target, her hair floating into place against her back as the creature bubbles eerily.

The bubbling gradually intensifies over the next couple of moments, radiating a sound reminiscent of boiling water and a dense, murky purple Reiatsu that takes the appearance of a fog. More surprised than afraid, Kiyomi readies her rapier at her side while the small pond of ebony “liquid” rises, slowly reaching a height of ten feet. One by one, limbs just out from the towering mass, and like the fluid that it was derived from; they too, were pitch black.
For the first time in the entire conflict, Kiyomi hears the blood curdling groan of the creature when a masked face takes form. Its figure was almost completely humanoid, if one pictured the largest human body builder and doubled both his size and muscle volume. The vocal chords of the creature fully form, bringing more definition and refinement to the groan that it let out before, and becomes a menacing roar with its body now looming over Kiyomi. ”O-oh.. Crap.” Kiyomi’s once calm demeanor subsides to one of shock and nervousness. It was obvious to her that the Hollow knew its usual survival tactic of “divide and conquer” would not work on Kiyomi, and thus switches tactics to brute force.
It steps slowly, as if its transformation had suddenly given it mass that it didn’t have before, the ground quivering beneath its soles. Kiyomi takes a step back for each one the Hollow takes forward, keeping the distance constant, feeling like someone in a horror movie that was being chased by the main villain that will always find his way behind her no matter how fast she ran. With the Shinigami in some other location, the only thing that stood between her and the Hollow was the silver and cyan rapier that she holds in her right hand.

Although it hasn’t come any closer than when it first transformed, the Hollow rears his right arm back and propels it forward, aimed at Kiyomi. For a large creature, its fist was surprisingly fast, catching even Kiyomi off guard as her instincts carry her body; hopping up high enough for the punch to sail beneath her and smash a crater into the earth. She lands on the forearm of the Hollow before she manages to perform a backflip off of it to safety as it pulls its arm back and readies another punch.
The punch thrown this time around was higher, so Kiyomi dips lower, bending her knees and spreading her legs to give her a wide stance. She leans her right side in, following the momentum while tucking her rapier along her forearm to perform a twirl which causes the sharp edge of the rapier to slice a fairly deep cut vertically on the flesh of the monstrosity. Finishing the twirl puts her a little to the side of the Hollow, who was both seemingly unaffected by the retaliatory attack and recovering from throwing its weight around, giving Kiyomi ample time to create distance with a couple of hops backward.
The Hollow turns, a viscous black fluid oozing from the freshly made wound on its forearm. It lifts the arm in line of sight of its face, and upon spotting the cut, it lets out a challenging growl, detesting that a human had harmed it. Another throaty roar of battle rattles the trees around it as it charges forth, on a violent warpath directed at Kiyomi. But with such a blind charge, it was easy for Kiyomi to devise her counterattack and raises her left arm into the air, spreading the dainty digits of her hand to direct the power of her Fullbring in influencing the very air she breathed.

Kiyomi’s influence stirs the molecules of the air, despite the disturbance that the charging Hollow caused as its barrels through trees that once stood proudly within this field. Just before the Hollow could step foot within 20 feet of Kiyomi, a vortex of air spawns, forming a protective cocoon around the female which swallows the Hollow with its powerful winds. The Hollow is lifted and swung around the diameter of the tornado, letting out growls and roars of frustration and anger. But, that wasn’t all this ability was capable of. When the wind picks up speed, several “blades” of wind take sharp within the vortex and fly straight into the Hollow, carving deep gash wounds along its torso, cleaving a hand off at the wrist, and several smaller cuts closer to the thighs.
After the blades of wind have done their damage, the remnants of wind use what’s left of their strength to catapult the Hollow like a ragdoll into the nearby pond. ”Hah… h-hah…” Kiyomi pants with slight fatigue, a couple of beads of sweat glisten on her forehead as she monitors the pond to see if the Hollow would surface again. As if an oil spill, the surface of the pond darkens with the “blood” of the Hollow, gradually tainting the once clear water. That wasn’t enough to assure her of her victory, however, as she could still feel the overwhelming Reiatsu of the Hollow nearby. On cue, the surface of the pond suddenly bulges 10 feet high before exploding, giving way for a bright red energy to escape and speed towards Kiyomi. The sound alone was enough to alert her that this was a Cero blast, a much larger one at that, and runs perpendicular to the beam, barely avoiding a direct hit.

A larger uplift of water, now blackened with blood, takes shape on the pond’s surface. A familiar roar though gurgled by the presence of water, echoes through the fluid, breaking the surface tension and reveals the creature to be alive. Its roar ripples the water of the pond, the abomination showing its displeasure at Kiyomi still being alive even when it had fired one of its strongest attacks.
”As strong and bulk as it looks… It still getting hurt… Maybe I can end this soon..” Her energy was running low at this point and with no one around, it was very risky to prolong the fight much further. Kiyomi narrows her eyes to focus her mind on the enemy before her as the Hollow takes steady steps towards her, leaving the vicinity of the lake. She notes how the Hollow wobbles and missteps occasionally due to its injuries and calculates that victory must lie in exposing its weakened legs and forcing it to collapse under its own weight.
The young woman steadies her nerves with a couple of slow, deep breathes, ”If I’m going to pull this off… I need to be precise…” In essence, what she was planning on doing was turn her rapier into a sniper rifle and use it to strike vital points on the legs of the bumbling monster. Kiyomi lifts her rapier so that her right arm was bent inward towards her chin, the hilt of her weapon just in front of her face with the tip of the blade pointed at the approaching enemy. The blade glimmers, releasing a ring of blue light from the hilt guard, and soon after, fires a thin, but powerful spear of reiryoku in the direction of the Hollow’s right Achilles heel.

The azure light bolts to its target, entering the flesh of the Hollow’s ankle from the front, but the momentum and sheer strength of the invading shot carries it through the tendons and bone. A sickening snap is heard, the foot immediately giving out with the creature’s next step. Like a suffering animal, it howls and groans in pain momentarily before attempting to crawl onward using the remaining hand that hadn’t been cleaved off earlier, seemingly hellbent on reaching Kiyomi until its final breath.
Kiyomi’s eyes soften at the miserable sight, taking some pity on the Hollow that continues to desperately claw its way closer to its desired prey. ”I’m sorry..” Kiyomi whispers apologetically, referring to the fact that the absence of a Shinigami to deal the finishing blow meant that it would not be cleansed. Unfortunately, in her current condition, she could not afford to wait for the Shinigami to finish at the collapsed building to come when there was a risk that the Hollow could regenerate and start the process all over again.
Exhaling, the female finalizes her decision that this creature is too big of a threat to leave alone and returns to her normal combat stance, holding her rapier with the blade at an angle in relation to her body and directing its tip in the direction of the shuffling beast. Kiyomi starts to gather her remaining Reiryoku to the tip of her rapier, creating a point of blue light that progressively grows in diameter. The luminescent swell bursts in an all-consuming beam of blinding light. An inhuman groan of intense pain grazes Kiyomi’s ears, sending a cold chill down her spine as the light engulfs the Hollow, its fate being the same as the duplicate that met its end to the very same attack.

The beam thins to a fine line until it dissipates completely, leaving a trail of scorched grass where the beam had traveled. Kiyomi sighs out with exhaustion and collapses onto her knees, supporting her upper body with her hands pressing against the soft blades of green grass beneath her. ”I.. I think I got it…” The way that her words were accompanied with her efforts to regain her breath was further evidence to how much energy she had used to defeat her opponent. Her eyes scour the battle-torn land before her for any sign of the Hollow’s presence.
Kiyomi alternates between visual and Reiatsu detection methods for well over a minute but coming to the conclusion that she was victorious. ”Finally… It’s over.” As she hangs her head to relax, her flowing locks trickle off of her shoulders down to form a curtain along the sides of her head. A smile curls her plush peach lips and dispels her Fullbring as well as her armor, feeling as if she had made her family proud. Back in her normal attire, Kiyomi lifts herself back onto her feet while dusting off traces of soil and grass on the fabric of her skirt. There was no telling just how much damage had been caused by the battle, and the Shinigami has yet to return to verify the fate of the Hollow, leading Kiyomi to believe that he had fled after checking on the half-destroyed skyscraper.
”I guess that’s enough for one night… I really need some sleep.” Kiyomi wearily takes her final glance at the spot where the Hollow once crawled to fight to the bitter end; no further words being spoken. Turning away, Kiyomi begins the trek back home for a good night’s rest, silently thankful for such a trying experience to help refine her skills.
