Julia adored Japanese cuisine. Japan's culture and food attracted others from across the world and Julia was no exception. Despite currently on a violin tour and not performing tonight, Julia never took a day off. Life's daily struggles and comedy were watched and explored, Julia looking for a deeper reason to life while keeping in mind what was displayed on the surface reflected how a person was inside. There were a lot of reasons people acted as they did, but, for the moment, Julia immersed herself in her ramen.
She was still getting use to the two sticks often used for eating in Japan, however, her fingers were very attentive and careful. Being a violinist, this was special and made it easier for control. Though as she ate in peace, the quiet was disturbed as people began lining up and the man behind the counter taking orders. Why were so many people coming to this particular ramen shop? She gave the people only a passing glance and went back to her food.
Eyes closed and she tried blocking out conversations. Julia wanted to enjoy her food in peace but that didn't seem like it would happen. A dozen people were outside, or around that number. It was annoying and Julia wasn't willing to move but she might have to.
The hulking man behind the counter stepped here and there, stirring boiling pots of noodles and shifting around skillets filled with vegetables and meats alike, calling out to the people pouring into the small little shop.
"Come in, Come in my friends! You all look hungry, good! You have come to the right place, what can I get for you, eh?" His giant mustachio'd grin was almost as inviting as the savory smell that spilled out of the doorway into the streets, drawing in more and more customers with each passing moment. Taking each order without stopping for a moment, continuing to prepare more food for the dinner rush, the enormous man's grinning face never once dulled, beaming as he made bowl after bowl of his ramen. Making something that made people come together and enjoy was what kept Bjørn at the top of his game, handing out as much as he could in his giant's hands. Even through the hectic rush of customers, his bellowing laugh still rang out loudly,
"I didn't know I'd be feeding all of Japan today, Ehahah, come in friends, fill your bellies!"
In Bjørn's homeland, this many people at once was only at feasts for the whole village, and now here in Japan, he was getting more people stuffed into his tiny shop than he could count, and all the better that they came to enjoy his gift of cooking. He was not the type you'd expect to see in Japan, towering over most people, and naturally blocking out the sun, and yet here he was, at home here just as much as he was back in his own country. It has been alot of big changes coming to Japan, and Karakura specifically already held many things he could not explain.. but he felt like he belonged right in the middle of it all.
The shear tide of customers continued flowing in without halt. Certainly that strange large man wasn't from Japan but that wasn't the only thing that pulled them in. His hardy nature, that booming voice, wrapped around each passing individual along with the strong aroma of food. Julia smirked softly and found enjoyment in, not only her food, but how he portrayed himself. He was unbound, remaining unrestrained by society. And Julia enjoyed that. She didn't hurry herself, as she was nearly through the bowl. And her glass of tea went well with lunch.
But the man's spiritual presence was larger than those who surrounded them. He wasn't very powerful but held potential, having an above average spiritual presence that would attract Hollow. It was dangerous and especially for his customers. Was he aware of the spiritual realm? That was to be discovered, as his Spiritual Pressure was between normal and above average. "It would be a shame if he perished." The food was good and she wouldn't mind coming here for the remainder of her tour for lunch.
Julia decided it would be best to get to know him a little better, and force herself into his life. Setting her bowl aside to be washed, she would move around to the back of the stand. "Today, I'll work for free!" Julia's sharp eyes were strong, and her smirk proud. She spoke aloud to the shop's owner and to those who worked as well. Washing her hands, she would begin cooking whatever was ordered. Having a decent grasp for cooking noodles. This would continue until closing time.
As the small woman made her way into his bustling work space, Bjørn raised his eyebrow and grinned widely. Looking to the crowd of hungry customers, he let out a bellowing laugh and pointed his thumb to her,
"Had one bowl and now she knows my secrets, eh? Bahaha! Good! With this many people I was about to have to grow another few arms, but it looks like I won't have to anymore, eh?!"
His laugh carried out into the street as he ladeled more bowls to the crowd, not letting there be a second of wasted time. People were hungry, and he and this new friend had quite a job to do.
Before long, the workday was already over, piles of empty bowls stacked in the stall, along with empty pots and pans. Wiping the sweat from his brow, Bjørn let out a sigh of exhaustion, folding his massive arms over his barrel chest.
"Somehow we survived, eh friend? Without your help I may have drown in ramen.. seems like I will need to hire some more people to help me out, and then someday expand this tiny little shop into a real... well, ME sized one, eh?! Eheheheh!"
Jutting out his massive hand to her, looking down from his slightly cramped view from the ceiling, he held his toothy mustachio'd grin,
"Call me Bjørn, and after today, you can have all the ramen you want, on me!"
Time quickly passed by at the roman shop. Julia didn't really have any complaints besides how loud some of the customers were and their complaints about being slow. While Julia wasn't fast at cooking it was worth the wait. A few mistakes were made here and there, such as not having the noodles completely right but there weren't many complaints. She saw cooking as an art form like Brom must have. She could tell he proudly enjoyed cooking with passion just like she loved playing the violin.
Julia washed up and sighed deeply after the long day. She was tired physically and mentally. To her, the violin was less stressful and concerts tended to not be that loud, not until the end. She smiled with a tired expression and extended her hand to shake in response. "Julia is the name, and I'll gladly take that offer." She responded with slightly tired voice. "So do you think you could manage a chain of shops? It wouldn't be easy but passion can take you places you never thought possible."
Julia stretched her arms above her head and yawned. Bringing them back down, she crossed them underneath her chest. "People are lively around here, do you not have trouble? She asked somewhat concerned. Partly for those who came by but also because of possible Shinigami and Hollow.

Brushing his hand over his mustache slowly, he looked at her in thought to her question about a chain or restaurants. Before long a burst of laughter came out and he waved his hand at her, dismissing the idea entirely,
"Bahahah, a chain you say? How about a real building first, and from there, who knows, eh?" Nudging her slightly with his elbow, he raised his eyebrows in optimism. Taking one of the bowls from the stack that climbed toward the ceiling, he brought it to the sink and began to scrum it clean. He knew he sure as hell wouldn't have time to do this while they were open, so it was time to prepare for the next day.
"Ah, you think it is lively here, you should see back home! You don't know lively until you've wrestled a bear to the ground.. I expected this place to be like a sleeping village in comparison, but it has certainly surprised me. Many strange things in this town.. not much like back home. I see now what my father speaks of in his stories, he was an adventurer, traveled many many places. He is who taught me how to make ramen in the first place! He knew many many things..." Trailing off, Bjørn grinned and continued to wash bowl after bowl.
"He was legendary hunter of our village, stories of beasts he has fought have been passed through our village now like folktales. He speaks of beasts that have a hunger that ramen could never feed, and a hole in place of their hearts.. so much for wrestling bears, eh?" Laughing out once again, he shrugged to Julia.
Dangerous beasts without hearts were hunted down by few. Those who hunted The Heartless Beasts could only be one of few types of beings. The first were Shinigami, however, the man before her was no Shinigami. The second would be Quincy though they were a rarity. Humans were possible but their numbers were just as thin as Quincy these days. While he spoke she helped him put up the dishes and finish up whatever was needed before he would leave to go home. She had already helped out this much and it wasn't like she wasn't having fun helping him.
The way he spoke was funny. It was different than Japan's native citizens and far less formal. Bjorn was from a country that Julia couldn't think of off the top of her head. She chuckled. "An adventurer who fought monsters without hearts and cooks. He sounds like a great man. So have you ever seen one of these heartless beasts yourself?" Julia began wondering how much his father told him about Hollow. The beasts sounded like them but there were also many legends about monsters all across the world. Hollow weren't the only creatures who killed Humans to east or for fun.
"Hmm... there are many things that lurk in the shadows in this city, and I feel that every day the shadows creep closer and closer.. " Furrowing his eyebrows and beginning to brush his mustache once again, Bjørn looked out into the street, as if peering into the dimming light for any sign of something listening in.
Letting out a slight sigh, he returned his attention to the woman in his stand, raising an eyebrow and re-revealing his toothy grin,
"What about you, most people here seem oblivious to the shadows... but you maybe not so much, eh? You seem to be someone who has seen many things yourself, an adventurer of sorts, eh?" Chuckling a bit, he shrugged and tilted his head to the side. Clapping his hands together as if dusting them off, he rubbed the back of his bald head and grinned. It was the end of a long day and he was glad it had gone so well, and even better he had made a new friend.
"Shall we take a walk..?" Moving towards the back of the stand, Bjørn pulls off his apron and hangs it up on a hook in the back, pushing open the door and holding it open with his large palm pressed to it.
Two problems rested on Julia's shoulders but she proudly carried carrier and justice with great earnest. Bjorn fitted between inspiration and justice. A proud voice boomed with strength just as easily those strong arms gently carried plates towards customers. Her eyes and ears followed each action and word that were taken as honesty. Julia left behind the shop and would walk with Bjorn, remaining quiet until they left the shop. She didn't talk much, but such was just how she was. She didn't have much to say to most people who didn't understand her worldly view.
Bjorn, however, was different. Julia looked up at his hulking stature but only for a moment before taking in the stars above. Despite the city lights obscuring the stars, in this part of the city those diamonds in the sky sparkled. "Bjorn, there is a world beyond what we see. What your father spoke of is true. There are monsters without hearts, beasts who feast on souls. But it is a terrible world, a world with great fear but with boundless possibilities. I can see what others do not, and you can feel what others do not. I tell you this for several reasons."
Julia placed her right hand upon Bjon's massive left shoulder, having to reach up due to him being quite taller than her. Though upon touching, a warmth would come from her hand as she gathered a small amount of Reishi. To her, her hand was glowing in a light tint of blue. Though to Bjorn, how could apparently only feel the spiritual world, might only feel a tingle. "You seem like a good man, and I'm not normally one to be so open about my secrets, but you are an honest man. I worry for you and your customers. I would be sad if my customers came in danger. But just know, if you gain strength, the strong will come. It is the fate of all who hold strength."
