Of all the places to get lost in, it had to be bunk ass Karakura Town. What a drag! The sights? Oh they were stellar and bland all in one. The people? Well, they were humans all right, in all their glorious humanity. But worst of all? The ghosts! Geez these spirits were dull as rocks and unhelpful. All Cyrus wanted was to find the damned Red Dog Pawn Shop, home to a new inventor popping up all over the undernet (that's the spiritually aware part of the internet for the plebs) hailed as Karakura Town's blessed engineer. Except what kind of engineer is this hard to find! And all the dimwitted ghosts around this place didn't know the first rule of directions: knowing where the hell you were directing someone to. The ever Illusive One had led Cyrus all over the various districts and neighborhoods of Karakura.
He was running on one last lead: "its the only place that's completely empty in town", courtesy of one young looking ghost holding a ragged little doll skipping down the street. Cyrus kept sensing for any signs of life until his senses were met with a wall. Not like someone was blocking him, but like it was trying to be completely off the grid. Bingo, Cyrus stepped up to the creaky door and just like that walked through.
A soft bell rang out as the door to the pawn shop opened, surprisingly loud in the near dead silence. In the back corner of the store Seran stirred in his recliner, one eye lazily opening to check for danger. He hadn't been asleep in the conventional sense, more just dozing in an attempt to rest his mind. He had noted many times how surprisingly easy to just "turn off" as a modified soul; something in their programming about remaining calm in the lead up to a mission. An almost meditative state by human standards. But whatever the reasoning, he rather enjoyed the daily "ciesta" as humans often referred to it. It was nice to just not think for long periods of time. But now, as was becoming increasing common, some poor fool had wandered into the shop after closing. Meaning he had a guest at the very least more interesting then the humans randomly waltzed in off the street.
He waited, not overly interested in exactly who this person was. More then likely just some curious teenager will minimal spiritual potential who had found the place by accident. But as the would be customer approached the back of the shop (the natural path for anyone who entered) Seran's eye opened slightly wider.
What a drab introduction that was. Is this all Karakura Town had to offer? Geez. Watching silly humans bicker and squabble over clean water was better than this lackluster comment. As if the random assortment of knick knacks and human world accessories wasn't enough of a snore, Cyrus had to deal with a dumbfounded shopkeep noting his hair. Something in his social computation files found this particular sentiment; that his hair was out of the ordinary, extremely irksome. Was there some sort of uniformity to these meek follicles that warranted wonder in his specifications? Before he let himself show his displeasure, he had to resume his objective of finding the ever illusive "Seran"
"Thanks.....excuse me shopkeeper, would you happen to know anyone by the name of Seran? I've been told he's the only man in town worth seeing for what I need done."
A bit of snarky bite from Cyrus's curved syllables. The Alpha was already at work as his deep brown irises glinted behind his glasses slightly and revealed cybernetic optics at work. Cyrus had figured out that this man before him was of considerable strength and although the initial scan was still underway, he had a strong hunch that this was the man he was looking for, those pointed words would at least bring the interaction to life, lest Cyrus fall out in a snooze then and there.
"Nice shop ya got here, definitely on the more lowkey and undercover spectrum, if that's you're thing."
Wait...this scan couldn't be right. This man was an artificial soul just like him?! How could this be. As quickly as a smug grin crept on his lips, he tried to suppress his shock that he'd found a kin.
Name: Alpha Class: Vessel Tier: V Type: Supplementary Description: The Alpha is Cyrus's original gigai and as such is his most comfortable and easiest to utilize. When not in use it has the appearance of a standard issue gigai, but when used it features Cyrus's standard appearance or a pink mohawk and slim athletic build. The soul pill is located dead center of the collarbone area. Alpha features a few modifications that offer Cyrus moderate utility. The most major modification comes in the form of the jailbird, which allows the user to have a body formed of double helix-wound inch thin silver strings capable of unwinding and unraveling their body out to a maximum of 25 meters. The jailbird can stitch wounds closed instantly and also act as a conductor of sound waves for espionage purposes over the distance that can be unraveled as well as defensive reactions against movements. Finally the jailbird's double helix form is composed of various möbius strips. The property and characteristic of a möbius strip is that it only has one side and one boundary component. For the user this means that only one half of the user's body can be attacked otherwise the attack would simply wind, bend, and curve around the endless surface area of the möbius strips. Alpha's one side starts at its hairline and thus any attacks in front of its hairline on any point in the front half of its body is vectored around a fluid angle, thus making its only "blind" / vulnerable spot being her backside. The jailbird can also be used to redirect attacks by unraveling and vectoring the attack through the double helix. If Cyrus has higher advantages than the attack then he can redirect the attack at a higher speed than the original. Finally, Alpha's jailbird redirects its reiatsu signature to only emanate from the blind spot, thus limiting some sensing of it.
Alpha also has cybernetically enhanced eyes that have enhanced sensing capabilities. An initial scan provides superficial information such as spiritual power level, physical power and potential, and racial information. A continued scan in battle provides data regarding any fluctuations in power level that would signal form changes, power level of certain techniques, attack patterns by reading consistent muscle memory, and effects of prolonged injuries in addition to other combat information. All information is stored in a microchip within the glasses Cyrus wears while using Alpha. Alpha also contains compartments for 3 item storage slots within its body.
"Low-key was the idea yes. But it seems if you supply equipment to young, spiritually aware humans, its basically impossible to not show up on the internet. Well that, and ghosts seem to have taken a liking to the place. And they gossip."
Seran didn't stand up from his seat, but did pull the lever of the side of the chair to pop himself back up into a normal sitting position. Several items around him slumped or clanked onto the floor around him and he grumbled slightly, scratching his head in mild annoyance. He reached out from the chair awkwardly, obviously not wanting to get up, and straitened several of the askew objects. He wasn't overly excited at having another mod soul wander into his life, of the few he had met since his escape from the Seireitei, most seemed content to live out their lives within human society to avoid detection.
"It isn't often that I get family seeking me out here."
Seran looked up at the pink haired mod soul, who seemed to be much more shocked at the encounter then he was. Or at least he was for a moment before trying to hide it.
"Your poker face isn't great brother. Whats with the look of surprise? I can't be the only one of use you've seen since....... then."
Was the infamous Seran of gossip really this lazy to not want to get up to clean his shop? Yikes. Was he gettin lazy in his old age? Was he even of old age? This couldn't be the real Seran could it? Just a decoy in case of danger obviously. A shame if Cyrus had come all this way for a lazy man tinkering in darkness. Cyrus had a few questions but was stumped at the shopkeep's assumption that Cyrus had any idea about the cryptic event in his statement.
"How'd you know I was a Modified Soul...and how do you know what that is. I'm one of a kind brother." The mocking tone on the word brother couldn't have been more obvious. Was this guy trying to win an award for cheesiest remarks?
"And since when exactly stranger? I'm afraid I have no recollections of ever meeting another modified soul. In the government facility I was created, I was the prototype, and the only prototype since I blew em sky high." A smug air about him as he spoke on his origins vaguely. He lifted his hands and curled his fingernails towards his face as if to check his cuticles, how cutesy and femme of him, adding a bit of snobbery on top of smugness just for kicks.

Seran stopped for a moment. He hadn't really expected this. Modified souls were, as far as he knew, solely a shinigami invention. Was this pink haired individual delusional? Damaged maybe? Or perhaps the shinigami had infiltrated human governments for some purpose? It was worrying but if Cyrus was telling the truth whatever facility he had been made in was long gone. Seran let a long pause hang in the air as his guest finished.
Where to go from here? Did he dare bring up the Gotei 13? would this mod soul even know what a shinigami was? It was probably better to tread carefully for the moment, for all Seran knew this new customer was some elaborate trap developed to ensnare him. Until he could look into Cyrus's memories he wouldn't be sure.
"Those who made me are of no consequence. I am my own master."
Now more interested in the conversation, Seran stood from his seat and strode back behind the glass counter.
"Regardless, we seem to have gotten off topic. You didn't seek me out here because you were looking for another mod soul, that much is apparent. So what exactly did you come here for?"
He couldn't be serious. Wasn't he a being of more refined subtleties? The whole I rule myself trope was a bit played out. Coulf you blame him though? In this dark dank dungeon of man-cave vibes that he called his place of business, one could see the man's disposition in a nutshell; ultimately cliche. They were artificial souls, machines designed for their creators and as obvious as it was that they were now their own masters, the fact that he had to assert it make Cyrus chuckle. He pushed his glasses back up to his face and looked down as trying not to offend the poor man but he couldn't contain himself. The chuckle was followed by a quaint little "well alright then" as he attempted to remain composed in the face of comic book ripoff guy who may or may not have been the person of gossip he'd been searching for. Lets hope his skills of forgery outweighed his winning personality here. Cyrus still wanted to prod the man's mind in regards to these mysterious creators of his though he had more pressing matters.
Hell, why not both? He was a fugitive for christ's sake, not exactly like Cyrus had a home to go to. Upon hearing the shopkeep usher for the business of the visit to commence, Cyrus peppep up a bit, excited that his journey was not for naught. He held a finger up and smiled genuinely, some goofy little smile a child would make when they were about to show their parents something they made. Within his red cardigan was an inner pocket, fitted with reishi particles to make it far more spacious than the thin sweater would present. After a second or two of rummaging, goofy smile giving way to an awkward pause before it resurfaced, Cyrus pulled out the I.C.U, his trusty interdimensional containment unit. The opaque cube with swirling aqua hued energy within it lit up the shop, who needs a lamp anyways when your customer helps ya out with the gift of lighting. He held the cube in his palm and with his opposite index finger tapped the top of the cube. A conic portal beamed out and using a mental cue, Cyrus pulled out a blue hilted katana with a guard in the shape of a plain looking double helix.
"I've come to your...lovely establishment here stranger because I request the services of a man by the name of Seran to help me make some modifications to this here blade." Cyrus spoke humbly at this point. Shocker of the century there. In his nine decades of existence, and nearly half a decade of freedom he'd learned the golden rule of sucking up to those that can help you. Though his idea of sucking up was merely toning down his arrogance, it was a start after all? A start's better than cashing a check ya arse can't pay for.
"I wouldn't think a famed inventor to allow a stranger to watch over his shop, so I can assume that you are Seran, the man I'm looking for to turn Vertigo here into something worthwhile. What do you say? " Cyrus paused briefly to close the conic portal but before he did, he stealthily unwound his index finger into double helix wound strands and removed the Chronos Pendant from the I.C.U, stashing it away within his body before resealing the double helix into solid flesh.

Name: I.C.U (Interdimensional Containment Unit) Class: Item Tier: IV Description: The I.C.U is a small clear cube with swirling blue energy in the center. The I.C.U houses a pocket dimension able to house any number of items. It is where Cyrus stores all items and materials for crafting and is approximately the size of a Rubiks cube. The I.C.U responds only to its user's reiatsu signature and as such can only be used by mental cues from its owner. A small portal opens up from one side of the cube and the user mentally creates a cue of which item they want to take from the pocket dimension.
Name: Vertigo Class: Item Tier: V Description: Vertigo takes the form of an ordinary katana with a blue hilt and double-helix shaped guard. Vertigo's blade is infused with a neurotoxin that upon striking through flesh reacts violently with the target's nervous system. Upon reacting to a foreign nervous system, Vertigo's neurotoxin forces the nerves of the afflicted limb to react to the impulses of the brain in an opposite manner. If afflicted, limb function is reversed, while the target may want to swipe from left to right, their brain will interpret the impulse as being from right to left, and so on.
Name: Chronos Pendant Class: Item Tier: V Description: The Chronos Pendant takes the form of a reiatsu infused ruby red crystal pendant embedded in an ornate diamond casing, hanging from a platinum chain. Within the crystal is a clock hand with 5 notches on it. The Chronos Pendant has the ability to bind anyone in combat with the user within a 50 meter radius to whatever rules or limitations the user sets. Any rules or limitations set by the user must be abided by both the user and the target or static tier V damage acting on the nerves jolts through them incurring a stun effect according to advantages. In order to set the binding, the user must first allow the Chronos Pendant to come in contact with the target's reiatsu, whether through ambient means if flared, contact with a technique made by the target, or direct physical contact. Once all the parties the user chooses are bound to the pendant, the user can then set rules. The rules are only limited in that they cannot be used for the user's absolute defense. For example the user cannot make the rule "I cannot be hit in the next minute" as this creates an absolute defense at the expense of the target possibly incurring tier damage. Instead the user can set rules that limit certain attacks by type (physical, energy, directional, etc.) Once the user sets the rule, the user can then set a time limit. The time limits range from 1 post to 5 posts and are measured by the hand within the pendant. If the rule is not abided by then tier damage is experienced. The user may only set one rule at a time. To escape the pendant's effects, the target must escape the pendant's realm of influence, mask its reiatsu signature to nigh invisible, or destroy the pendant.
Seran reached forward, mostly ignoring the words coming out of Cyrus's mouth, and agilely snatched the weapon out of the mod soul's hands. Flipping it around, he gasped the scabbard with his left hand and slowly drew the blade out with right, examining the edge closely. He noted the temper line pattern and its measurements. The blade's tip finally emerged, and Seran set the scabbard aside, needing both hands to examine the weapon. He backed up a step and pointed the weapon out in front of him, edge pointing up to the ceiling. He looked down the blade towards the Cyrus, verifying that it was indeed strait.
He continued to move the blade about, measuring its balance, testing if the tang was fitted properly, checking if the guard, pommel and collar were tight, and otherwise feeling out the weapon. All the while, tiny black veins slowly moved out along the entirety of the blade, giving Seran information about the item's spiritual composition and properties. The weapon was enhanced with its own special toxin, capable of disrupting and changing the messages sent from the brain to the body, quite a nasty piece of work. Finishing up his examination, he held the blade up to the side of his face and flicked it with his finger. A soft and surprisingly low tone rang out and quickly faded, Seran glanced of at Cyrus, frowning slightly.
"She's unhappy, says you don't play with her enough."
He flipped the sword around, holding it this time lightly by the back of the blade and pointing the pommel at Cyrus.
"The tsuka also gives slightly when you swing, not sure which section exactly is loose, but its interrupting and stuttering the flow slightly, and she doesn't like that either."
Name: Black Dominion Tier I+ Type: Passive Class: Creation Range: Self Description: Seran’s specialization in creation give him a unique understanding and power over items. When he holds an item that he didn’t create, black veins flow out from his hand into the weapon, analyzing it and dominating it. This includes items taken from opponents upon death and items taken through theft or disarming. This technique’s advantages are calculated using Item creation. Analyzation: If the veins are allowed to spread throughout the item (3 posts), Seran gains all information about the item including materials used to make it, composition, all abilities the item has and how to use them. Dominion: This applies to items with anti-theft properties or items bound to a certain character. This ability has stages. Stage one is the first post the weapon is obtained and is anti-destruction, stopping the item from self destructing or harming Seran with properties. Similar to Seran’s quench ability, this counteracts any energy residing in the item, draining Seran to do so. The second stage takes place after the weapon is analyzed, and manipulates whatever ability that binds the weapon to the specific person. The ability is either destroyed through this process or changed to consider Seran as the weapon’s owner. Release Items: Against release items (fullbring, zanpakuto, doll) this technique acts differently. Assuming Seran could disarm the opponent of the item, the process is similar but with a different endgame. Analyzation still takes place, the only difference being that Seran cannot use any of the items abilities.
Absolutely enthralling. As Seran so rudely snatched Vertigo from him, he proceeded an examination of sorts. To the untrained eye he was simply waving the blade checking for any inconsistencies with its creation, but to a somewhat of a learned observer as Cyrus was, let alone its creator, it was much more. A dance of sorts. Each motion fluid and smooth, each gaze captivating as Cyrus wondered what Seran was thinking exactly. Even the grotesque black veins that corrupted the blade's purity were entrancing. They undulated and pulsated as information transmit through them back into Seran. Watching Seran work left Cyrus spellbound, and a blank stare of amazement melted on his face until Seran spoke of the blade finally. Did he just say she?
"What do you mean she is unhappy? Weapons have no gender, no consciousness. Don't tell me all your tinkering has left the great Seran a wackjob. And even if it did have consciousness.....what the hell makes you think its a she?!"
Seran went on to continue about Cyrus's shoddy workmanship.
"Can you fix it is the real question though?"
Cyrus kept the Chronos Pendant sealed away within him in case Seran said no, he had ways of persuading.

"It is not consciousness in the normal sense. Everything has a soul, with varying degrees of complexity. For objects the soul is not conscious, but it does have purpose, especially in the case of tools. If this purpose is not fulfilled the soul becomes..... agitated is the best way to describe it. As for gender, it is simply my opinion after feeling the weapon out."
Seran picked up the blade's sheath and slipped the weapon back into its home, the black veins fading away completely as he did so.
"And there is nothing to fix really, just a matter of comfort for the blade."
He set the katana back on the counter and turned his gaze back to the Cyrus, eyeing him suspiciously for a moment.
"What is it that you really want?"
The question was meant to throw his guest off guard slightly. While it was true that he could fix the sword's small issues with ease, it was not the simplicity of the task so much as the person asking for it. And throughout there interaction Seran had measured Cyrus just as much as he had the blade.
"My abilities tell me everything there is to know about an object, including traces of the energies used in its creation. Its obvious that you are the one who created, or at least enhanced this weapon, and from your reaction to my handling of it I can tell you're not exactly a novice. Basic changes to this should therefore be completely within your power, and yet you sought me out. So lets hear it, what is your real purpose is asking for my assistance?"
Chock full of surprises. Seran had a way about him that just....piqued Cyrus's interests beyond comparison. Was it the base fact that they were of the same kin? Was it the way he operated? Like Seran was constantly programmed to stay wired, nothing seemed to get past him, even despite the lackluster little effect his personality had. Cliche as all hell and yet the way that processing unit of his took in information was a delightful treat to experience. Oh well. Cyrus had been found out. He was a baby when it came to being a social creature so sue the poor guy for being obvious.
"I want...a few things actually." A smirk broke through the pause of his words and sat on his curved lips.
As Cyrus took Vertigo back from the Alpha's cybernetic eyes still saw the lingering reiatsu Seran had imprinted on her. The veins of grotesquely intriguing power had faded but Vertigo had still felt his presence and her discomfort emanated his energy. They were tethered somehow and it was but a inkling of energy that Cyrus needed to activate the Chronos Pendant. The pendant moved through Cyrus's forearm through to his palm as he gripped the sheathe. The pendant shimmered in a bright red light from Cyrus's palm as he bound Seran and himself together in its laws.
"One thing I want is the absolute truth from you. If you don't...I'm obliged to tell u that there may be some consequences, but since I like you Seran, I do hope you won't lie. It'd really suck to start our friendship like this.
Now. You are quite perceptive; I could make the adjustments myself, I am her creator. The thing is she's been rejecting me lately. I've tried to alter the neurotoxin embedded within her steel but all of my attempts have been for naught. Such a drag that these things have souls. I thought I was just lacking the intellect, but it appears I just don't have the motherly touch necessary. Maybe you do? I'd like your help reforging her, in exchange my service to you. " Cyrus's smirk only grew in intensity. He shifted his weight around, lightly tossing his hand onto his waist and motioning around the shop with his free hand
"Looks like the extra hands around here wouldn't be something to pass on don't ya think?"
The Chronos Pendant surged with crimson energy from beneath Cyrus's skin as the law of lies was set in stone.

The statement was simple, but the meaning clear. This new player in Seran's game was certainly an interesting one, but he was mistaken if he thought he could cover up a threat with honeyed words. Anger flashed through Seran's eyes for only a brief moment, but it would be enough.
"We'll see if you have the skills necessary to work for me."
He turned and led the way towards the end of the counter, pausing in front of the door leading into the back of the shop to wait for Cyrus. Pulling a key out from his right pocket, he unlocked the door and pulled it open, motioning for Cyrus to enter first.
The room they entered was small when compared to the larger shop, but was still roomy enough for multiple people to move around without bumping into one another. It would be obvious to the other mod soul that this was some sort of basic workshop, as the room was lined with a myriad of evidence. Black counter tops where built into most of the walls with shelving above and drawers below. A small fireplace-forge hybrid was built into the back wall, obviously lit but adding very little heat to the room. Various unfinished or damaged items were scattered around the room in different stages of creation or repair, along with a massive selection of tools either laying out or hung on hooks, stored in drawers or otherwise strewn. Seran held out his hand.
"I'll get your weapon fixed up, give it here. And while I do I want you to make something, I don't care what. You can use anything laying around here or pulled out of your little storage portal. Make something interesting and I'll consider hiring you and maybe taking you to my actual residence."
Name: Hueco Acero (Hollow Steel) Type: Material Class: Item Creation Amount: 30 ingots Obtainment: While living in Hueco Mundo, Seran discovered that the sand that made up the white desert was not only composed of the normal white grains, but also trace amounts of other types, one of which was similar to Iron in the human world. He set about collected a large amount of the iron sand and smelting it using his black iron as a flux. The resulting metal was similar to steel in forging capability, but looked much more like iron. Appearance: A dark grey metal with low luster. The material seem to dislike being polished and will revert back to a darker, tarnished state is such a process is attempted. When forged into items it often takes on a scratched appearance, as if it was gone over with a wire brush, but this does not affect the item in any way other than cosmetically. Properties: +Shikai durability and sharpness when forged. +Up to bankai durability and sharpness when forged with specialized creation.
Name: Hollowfied Iron Wood Type: Material Class: Item Creation Amount: Infinite Obtainment: Grown from seeds taken during his experiment into growing plants in Las Noches. This is the first hollowfied plant species Seran has fully bred. Plants chosen had exceptionally durable wood and high growth rate. Appearance: Looks quite similar to a traditional desert ironwood tree from the human world (olneya), this tree differs only in color, having exceedingly dark, brown wood and very pale green, almost white leaves. The tree flowers all year long in captivity or in Hueco mundo, with small black and white flowers that attract jigokucho. It also has an exception growth rate, reaching full size in a matter of weeks when fed reiryoku on a regular basis, and even faster when grow using green weaving. Properties: +Wood can reach shikai durability with Mastered Creation and bankai durable with specialized. +Items made with the wood automatically regenerate if and when damaged. +Leaves and flowers can be using in alchemical recipes. +Can live parasitically on spiritual beings, allowing it to be used in soul engineering and body modifications. +Flower nectar attracts and feeds jigokucho.
Name: Paralytic Toxin Tier: V Description: A pale green liquid. Properties: When injected into an opponent’s body, this toxin cuts off nervous system signals in the surrounding area, paralyzing it. When introduced through a normal cut or similar this toxin can paralyze an area the size of one limb. The more times it is introduced the stronger the effect becomes, with five or six cuts causing complete paralysis to the whole body. This also applies to more serious injuries, a cut to the neck or direct injection around the heart may cause complete paralysis in a single dose.
Name: Las Noches Seeds Type: Item Range: -- Tier: I Description: Seeds gathered from Las Noches before Seran left and the experimental plants withered from lack of care.
Name: Alliance Communicator (Broken) Type: Item Range: Long Tier: II Description: Alliance Communicator is an enhanced reproduction of the shinigami’s Denreishinki. It was designed by Seran as the standard issue communication device for members of the alliance. It has all the properties of a normal cellphone and several other more useful spiritual properties. The AC is capable of cross world communication, allowing the Alliance contact regardless of what dimension they happen to be in. The AC has a GPS that functions regardless of which world the owner is located. The device also has a tracking feature for members of the alliance to find one another. This has an infinite range and other alliance member’s ACs can be pinpointed on the GPS, regardless of distance, as black dots with names above them (this feature can be turned off by the owner).
Name: Chameleon Suit (Broken) Type: Item Range: Self Tier: II Description: The chameleon suit is another standard issue piece of the equipment for members of the alliance. In its base form it is a skin-tight, black jumpsuit that covers the entire body save for the head. Once it is equipped the suit can change shape to any type of clothing the user prefers. The suit also has a built in status system that is linked to the user’s AC. This allows their condition to be monitored by other members or the alliance. The suit tracks heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, and can even take a blood sample for analysis if the user is poisoned or any other foreign substance enters their body. The suit also tracks any damage dealt to the body of the user. But the most important function is the stealth mechanism. This mechanism alters the user's reiatsu to fit into their environment. If the user is in the human world, their reiatsu will feel human. If they are in Hueco Mundo, a hollow. Soul Society, a shinigami.
