Jumala had been a Substitute Shinigami for not that long, and already he was getting used to his new found powers. He hadn't yet met formerly with his Taicho, however he had met several of the Squad Members and gotten a general feel for what the Taicho was like and needless to say he was a bit nervous about meeting her. But now he was wandering the Seireitei, exploring it really to get a feel for where everything was and DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUM it was BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG. Despite how fast he was moving he'd only managed to cover about 25% of the entirety of the Seireitei and still had a LOT to cover. Over the course of the time he spent exploring, he'd both met and learned about some rather interesting and colorful characters. Some of the Lieutenants, Captains, others. As he wandered about however, he couldn't help but keep getting the feeling that he was missing something... or someone. He kept sensing a rather particularly familiar feeling but he just couldn't place it... Who could it be? He rubbed his chin as he stood atop one of the buildings and began to hone in on the signature as best he could, closing his eyes he focused everything he had towards that familiar signature. Still being quite new to this whole Reiatsu thing, it took him a little bit before he managed to get a solid read on the signature and as his 'vision' zoomed across the Seireitei and gave him a good view of who it was his eyes opened "NO WAY!" He said with a big smile on his face "Kaori? SERIOUSLY!?" With glee in his mood now, he vanished from the top of the building.
He began making his way quickly towards who he was absolutely sure was his long time friend, and someone whom he hadn't seen in a VERY long time. Towards the Sixth Division Barracks he went, On his way there he simply couldn't help but be overjoyed at the idea of being reunited with Kaori. He hadn't seen Kaori in several years, he wasn't even sure how long it'd been but what he did know is that he was sure Kaori would be very surprised to see him... Just as surprised as he was to see her.

Kaori had grown up in the spotlight. She was used to all the attention; so it didn't phase her when the Shinigami of her division swarmed her the first time she was led to the division she was meant to represent as a member of the Crisis Core. To her, it was no different than being hounded by the media because she bore the name Mejiro. Her family was one renown for their businessmen and politicians, and Kaori herself was well versed in both. Since the girl made it known she'd not follow in the same footsteps her ancestors set up, the spotlight had faded over time.
When she first became the representative of the sixth division, the female feared whether she'd be able to keep the secret or not. However, time proved Kaori was excellent at avoiding the spotlight. There was a reason she was assigned to the sixth division, after all. Even now, she could easily out maneuver some of the Shinigami in her division.
A sudden presence spiked behind her, and the girl resisted the urge to pull her Zanpakutou from its sheath. It would seem the training she'd been undergoing under her squad mates was paying off, if her first instinct was to draw her sword. Kaori turned around instead, keeping her face a controlled mask of neutrality to face the other. Her first thought was a human, probably another Substitute judging by the lack of humans in the area, who recognized her from the Human World; probably saw her on TV. Instead, she found herself staring into the face of someone she knew. Her mask shattered, and a myriad of emotions danced across her face; confusion, recognition, joy. "Jumala?" she asked, pausing. "What are you doing here?" Only later would she realize there was really only two reasons for him being here, and one far more likely (and preferable) to the other.
Remember I am human and I'm bound to sing this song
IT WAS! It really truly WAS! Even on the way here Jumala had suspicions that maybe it wasn't but... When he arrived and saw that it was really Kaori he was absolutely ecstatic! He couldn't help but pull her into a tight bear hug, spinning her around for a moment before setting her down again with a wide smile on his face. His brilliantly white teeth on full display as he grinned over at her "Wow it really IS you Kaori!" He paused for a moment as he took in her question for a moment before tapping his chin "Uhm... Well apparently I was selected for this 'Crisis Core' thing, you here for the same thing I take it?" He asked, taking a moment to calm down as his smile remained even so. It was obvious that he was beyond ecstatic to see her "Man... How long has it been Kaori? Seems like it's been a decade or more since we last saw each other... Imagine us winding up meeting again like this, seems almost too good to be true really." He said softly, looking around "This... must be the 6th Division Barracks right? So are you their representative?" He asked, pointing behind him to where he had come from "I'm apparently representing the 2nd Squad. The Captain apparently can be a real hard ass, but considering who I know that shouldn't be too much of an issue" He said with a grin, teasingly gesturing towards Kaori with that statement.
He simply couldn't believe that this was happening, could it really be happening? Or was it just a dream? It was then he felt something smack him though he easily realized that was merely in his head. "Baka! Of course it's real!" It was her, his 'Zanpakuto Spirit'. He still didn't really understand what the hell, or who the hell, she was but... She had promised to help give him the strength to protect those around him and... Now that he'd found Kaori again... He was very glad he'd accepted her offer. For the most part she seemed rather quiet, perhaps observing how he interacted with others, perhaps not. But when she did speak she made sure he understood and heard her. He rubbed the back of his head slightly as he sighed, it really was happening though... He'd found Kaori again, his long time friend and one of the few people he truly cared for above all else. Why did he care for her one might ask? Well, that was simple. He cared for Kaori because she was the only being he knew that actually showed genuine care for him.
"Say... Kaori... Did they give you a Zanpakuto as well?" He asked, he had a suspicion about them... If she truly was who she claimed to be... Then that meant Kaori, and every other Shinigami, should have one as well... One unique specifically to them.
[newclass=.aeviscroll]width:351px;height: 30px;margin-left:3px;background-color:#d0a95e;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;text-align:justify;color: #000000;overflow:hidden;-moz-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease;-webkit-transition: all .6s ease;transition: all .6s ease;[/newclass] [newclass=.aeviscroll:hover]height: 400px;overflow:auto;-moz-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease;-webkit-transition: all .6s ease;transition: all .6s ease;[/newclass]

Kaori had a strong figure. Throughout her life, she'd always have to remain healthy else her mother would be upset with her. But it also made her feel good as well, confident in her own skin. She wasn't heavy, but by no means was she light either. The fact Jumala was able to pick her up and swing her around with such little effort was a testament to how his own training affected him as well. When he finally set her down, Kaori offered a small smile to the male, and hugged him in turn. "It's good to see you again, Jumala." She released him.
So he wasn't dead then. That was good. "I was also selected by Kurotsuchi-taichou for the Crisis Core project," she affirmed with a nod of her head. She thought he'd lead the conversation onto the Crisis Core since he brought it up, but it was just like him to fall backwards. She'd almost forgotten about that. Shaking her head in humor at him, a smile flicked across her face. "It's certainly been a few years."
Kaori looked back at the barracks when Jumala asked about it. "Yes," she replied simply, "This is the sixth division and I'm its representative." The female nodded, remembering the stories she'd heard a few of the other Shinigami from her division told of the second division's captain. She lifted an eyebrow at his jab, not bothering with a retort. Though she did disagree with him: she was reserved, not a hard ass, as he claimed.
Her eyebrows scrunched upward in puzzlement at his question, but she nodded her assent anyways. "Yes, my Zanpakutou's name is Byakko." Reaching to her hip, she pulled the weapon free from its sheath and held it out in front of her, hilt in her left hand and sharpened blade in her right. The bladed edge was cold to the touch, a testament to its element it made use of. "I presume you too have a Zanpakutou?" After allowing her friend to inspect her own sword, she returned the weapon to its sheath.

Upon hearing that she too was in the Crisis Core it got him thinking a bit, interally he was holding his chin and nodding though externally he was simply smiling. So that's what this was, a Recruitment Drive. He had figured that's what was happening, people who appeared to have potential were 'recruited' by this Kurotsuchi and given Shinigami Powers though for what end he wasn't sure of yet. But that was a concern for another time, right now it was time to simply rejoice. When she pulled out her Zanpakuto he nodded, inspecting it carefully. It seemed almost exactly like his at first glance. He pulled his out at her question and nodded with a smile "Yeah, her name is Suna no Kisaki, or Empress of the Sands." He said, placing his hand on the hilt and carefully pulling the blade free. "She promised to help me defend my family and those I care for... So I saw it as a no brainer really to accept her Help. It also seems I have some other powers I didn't know about as well as shortly before I awoke here something rather strange happened..." He began, pausing for a moment as he looked down solemnly for a moment as he recounted the tale the night prior. "It was strange... It was around 3am, I seemingly woke up for no reason though when I went outside after I heard a rather loud... terrifying scream, I saw a massive beast... A hollow I think is what they're called. Believe it or not, this thing was taller than even the Pyramids." He paused for a moment as though trying to remember something. 'Baka, they're called Menos Grande... And they ain't no ordinary hollow. To take down one of those on your own is not only an impressive feat, but one reserved for only the strongest to be able to do.' He winced a bit "Shuttup will ya!" He said, staring at his sword with a bit of an irritated look before sighing "Anyway, As she said it's a Menos Grande... Something apparently only the strongest Shinigami can kill by themselves but that isn't what's weird, not to me. What's weird is the sands themselves seemed to come to my aid as though they refused to allow my death. It opened it's mouth and fired something, A cero I think it's called, and instinctively I raised my hands in sort of a defense of myself but... What happened after that was... strange. The sands themselves came to life and defended me, they blocked the cero."
He took a few moments to pause as he sheathed his Zanpakuto and placed it back in his sash before looking at his hands "It's almost like Egypt itself won't allow me to die... It's... weird." He of course had never heard of such a thing happening before in his entire life, even the Pharoh's of old never wielded this kind of power. "And Suna no Kisaki... She wears the garbs of a Pharoh but... I don't remember a Pharoh to ever be female, not like this. She wears the garbs, she commands the sands as I do and yet... I can't beat her."

It wasn't surprising to learn Jumala's Zanpakutou was called something like 'empress of the sands' considering his Egyptian heritage. What did surprise her, was the fact his Zanpakutou Spirit manifested itself as a woman. She'd heard tales of certain Spirits manifesting as the opposite gender of their wielder, but it was uncommon at best. "I'm surprised your Zanpakutou Spirit is a woman." She paused, "Usually they are the same gender as their wielders." Kaori didn't explain further, opting instead to listen to his recount of how he discovered his unique abilities. She nodded at the mention of the large beast and it was easy enough for her to believe the creature being larger than even the pyramids. She'd visited Egypt years ago during one of her father's business trips, it was how she met Jumala, and one of the first things he wanted to show her were the pyramids. Though the ancient mysteries were huge (and she probably remembered them being larger than they actually were), Kaori also had seen her own fair share of Hollows, Menos Grande no exception.
He yelled out suddenly, snapping Kaori from her thoughts violently. At first she thought she'd been thinking out loud, but quickly realized he was yelling at his weapon, his attention focused on that.
Kaori nodded at his explanation. "Yes, your Zanpakutou Spirit is right. It was a Menos Grande you fought, and it sounds like you discovered your Human Powers. As far as I'm aware, every single substitute shinigami has some. Mine for instance, are based around snow and ice, same as my Shikai." She paused, allowing her friend to absorb that particular strain of information before she started another. "As for the hollow, the Menos Grande, yes they are powerful, and it takes a skilled Shinigami to kill one single handedly. But they are not the most powerful. The arrancar is stronger than the Menos Grande, and the Vasto Lorde stronger than the arrancar. Even captain class Shinigami struggle against Vasto Lordes. Run into one of them, and it's only death that awaits you, my friend."
Kaori actually laughed when he said it was Egypt not allowing him to die. Kaori had been raised in a scientific world, where if it couldn't be scientifically explained, it didn't exist. It was the opinion her father had, and her two brothers also carried the sentiment. Kaori too had believed it, until this entire new world was thrust in her face, literally, when she was attacked by a hollow. She didn't even believe in its existence when her human powers started manifesting their selves. "My foolish friend," she started, the words said in endearment rather than scorn, "It's not Egypt that's keeping you alive, it's you." She said, emphasizing the last word. "You and that spirit that resides within you. And she only takes the form of a pharaoh because that is what your soul manifests her as. She is based entirely on you. Have you noticed how the two of you work so well together?" It surprised her Jumala didn't know all of this already. What was Sui-Feng teaching him, if not about what he actually was?

Jumala tilted his head when she mentioned that usually Zanpakuto Spirits were the same gender, so... his was even more rare and exotic than he had thought? Interesting... Then she verified what he had thought before of the Menos Grande, and what her powers were based around. He took quite the time to let the information to sink in as she continued, If Menos Grande weren't the strongest... He grasped his chin with one hand and placed his elbow in his other palm as he thought about all this information. Arrancarr... Vasto Lorde's... A Captain struggled against one of them? And here he thought that the Captain's were unbeatable and had no equal when it came to Hollows. Alas, it would seem that he underestimated the Hollow Hierarchy. But as she paused he took this chance to speak. "Y'know... I can see why your powers are based around snow and ice. After all, you can be quite the snow queen when you want" He gave a snicker at that after he said it, obviously joking but poking fun at her rather... cold nature at times. But when she spoke of the fact it was the Spirit inside him and his own powers that kept him alive he chuckled at her.
"Well, while one man says it's one thing another will say it's another. Where you come from it may not seem possible, but in Egypt such things can take place... Whether it be through ones own force of Will or through the land itself. I don't believe in coincidences, and the fact that my powers revolve around the Sands themselves only leads me to believe more that Egypt itself would not allow me to be taken that day." He gave Kaori a soft smile, he understood that such superstitions weren't widely accepted everywhere, and that most take the most logical choices. And while Kaori DID have a point, Jumala preferred to believe that Egypt wouldn't allow him to die. He was not delusional, however, he knew full well that he could die... But that didn't stop it from guiding him. "Alas, it matters not what kept me alive that night... Only that I am alive. And so are you!" He said with a smile to Kaori.
[newclass=.aeviscroll]width:351px;height: 30px;margin-left:3px;background-color:#d0a95e;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;text-align:justify;color: #000000;overflow:hidden;-moz-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease;-webkit-transition: all .6s ease;transition: all .6s ease;[/newclass] [newclass=.aeviscroll:hover]height: 400px;overflow:auto;-moz-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease;-webkit-transition: all .6s ease;transition: all .6s ease;[/newclass]

The girl raised an eyebrow when Jumala mentioned her being a snow queen. "Would you rather me be a fire queen," she questioned, placing a hand on her chin as if in thought. "Though I doubt Byakko would be too keen on that."
Kaori listened to the male's opinion about why he thought it was Egypt keeping him alive. She didn't interrupt, but Kaori thought it foolish, his opinion. There was no difference in the powers between Egypt and Japan. If the Shinto Gods weren't popping up and preventing death around Japan, then the pharaohs of old weren't awakening from their tombs to prevent deaths there. But like Jumala wouldn't be able to change her opinion, Kaori doubted she'd be able to make Jumala come to his senses. Their beliefs differed in that aspect. Kaori just shook her head at Jumala, bemusement adorning her expression. "To each his own," she stated simply. Kaori scoffed when he mentioned the both of them being alive. "As if something as barbarous as a Hollow could end my life." Her statement showed just what she thought of the race: nothing but mindless beasts that deserved to be slaughtered.

Jumala couldn't help but chuckle at her response to him and he waved a hand "Haha! That's true enough! Although I'd be REALLY interested in meeting one of these so called Arrancarr... Or maybe even a Vasto. They might be strong but I'd love to test the limits of my own power against them y'know? Maybe in a closed setting. Although I think Sui-Feng might kill me for even thinking of doing something that reckless but hey, what's life without living it dangerously am I right?" He said with a grin, rubbing his nose a bit. "Say, how's that Byakuya Captain anyway? I hear he can be a real stickler for training" He said, his tone suddenly turning rather serious compared to the humorous one he just had naught 10 seconds ago. He knew what it was like to have pride and honor in what one did and knew the importance of training for sure. He'd spent most of his life in service to someone, someone more powerful... His Father also had a thing for having Pride in what one did and having a code of honor so he was raised as such. From what he'd heard, Byakuya was nearly the same in that regard. "And Kaori... Just because you have powers now, don't go thinking you have to always go in on your own. From what I understand we should be able to talk to each other anytime now, if ever you feel the need to ask for help... Don't hesitate alright?" He asked, his tone showing just how serious he was being right now. There was no joking, no humor to his words... No, he was being dead serious right now. "I ain't about to let anything, Hollow, Shinigami... Human, Whatever, take you from me alright? They ain't got that right, nobody does. I ain't sayin' this 'cause I like ya... I'm sayin' it because you're my friend... And quite frankly, nobody hurts my friends and gets away with it, got that?"
[newclass=.aeviscroll]width:351px;height: 30px;margin-left:3px;background-color:#d0a95e;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;text-align:justify;color: #000000;overflow:hidden;-moz-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease;-webkit-transition: all .6s ease;transition: all .6s ease;[/newclass] [newclass=.aeviscroll:hover]height: 400px;overflow:auto;-moz-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease; -ms-transition: all .6s ease;-webkit-transition: all .6s ease;transition: all .6s ease;[/newclass]

Kaori listened to Jumala's tirade about the hollow, and him wanting to face a Vasto Lorde. Was he really that reckless, wanting to face the strongest of Hollows. An Arrancar she could understand, even Kaori wondered what it would be like to fight one of them, to see just how similar they were to the Shinigami and if they were as powerful as she heard rumors of. But there was no desire to face a Vasto Lorde. "It's life, Jumala." The stated, eyes hardened as she looked at him. "I do hope your captain has enough sense to reprimand you for even contemplating facing one of those things. Have you even been listening to me? If you face one of them, you won't stand a chance. If the captains struggle to defeat them, what chance do you or I have?"
Jumala seemed keen on changing the subject, and Kaori just sighed. Sometimes she wondered why she and Jumala were friends, they seemed so different from one another. But maybe that was the entire reason: their differences prevented them from clashing. "Kuchiki-taichou doesn't like his division members becoming lax. That is something I respect." The male jumped to another topic again, this time about her asking for help. She raised an eyebrow at him, but otherwise didn't say anything. Kaori had always been independent, someone who never felt she should have to rely on anyone else. "I won't." It wasn't very likely she would ask for help (it wasn't in her nature) but there was a small part of her that was glad for his concern. It was nice to know that if she ever did need help, she had at least one person whom she could rely on. The last part actually caused her to smile, and she laughed. "I'll have to remember that I can always count on you to have my back if someone thinks I'll be an easy target." Not that she'd allow them to hurt her in the first place.
Remember I am human and I'm bound to sing this song
Jumala let out a soft sigh as he heard the words of his compatriot, His eyes closing for a moment before he turned around. "Tell ya the truth Kaori... I want to destroy them all. Every single last hollow. They represent everything I hate, they tried to take my family from me Kaori... Had I not woken up, I'd be dead right now. I hate seeing people hide in fear of those who have the power to protect them but instead destroy them, Every day since I became a substitute Shinigami I've had a nightmare about that night. I wanted so badly to protect my family, and something inside me made it happen. I believe it's my country, giving me the strength to protect those I care about... You say it's me and this spirit that shares my mind with me. But regardless where it comes from doesn't truly matter anymore, All that matters is that I have that power and what good is that power if I don't use it to protect the innocent and the defenseless y'know? My father always taught me to have honor and take pride in what you do, Well I intend to do just that." As he spoke his hand slowly lifted up and his hand opened wide, Jumala stared down at it as he recalled what happened to him and the feelings he had when it happened. Even still as well, he kept that same serious tone as before.
Jumala soon turned back around to Kaori "And that's also why I won't let anything hurt you without it getting hurt by me! I'm dead set on doing everything I can to defend this world, and I'm going to look for a way to destroy every hollow... And if I can, seal off Hueco Mundo forever! I'll make sure the suffering of this world ends no matter what, and if I die before then... Well then I'll just use the spiritual body and keep on going until I accomplish my goal!" He gave a big grin to Kaori "So that's why I want to fight a Vasto Lorde! So I can kill it!"

The girl listened to Jumala's tale, and she felt upset that she couldn't be there for him. The girl had been so focused on her own developing abilities, her own trials and tribulations, she hadn't thought to stop and consider what other people may have been going through, that Jumala was going through the same thing. As the two became older, they had drifted apart, and by the time Kaori had started the process to become a Substitute Shinigami of the Crisis Core, she hadn't seen her friend in a good few years. "I'm sorry, Jumala. I wasn't there for you in a time you needed me, and I hope you'll forgive me for that." The girl apologized, closing the distance between the two of them and placing a hand on Jumala's shoulder. "But there is still a balance that must be maintained. We are meant to purify any hollow we come across, but this mission is suicide Jumala, even you must understand that. If you swing your blade in righteous anger, your anger will dull your blade."
But Jumala still went on. Kaori closed her eyes, taking a step back. She should have known better than to try and persuade him: when it came to stubbornness, Jumala was just as stubborn as Kaori herself was. But one of the main differences between them was Jumala set impossibly high goals for himself, and he was determined to see them through. Kaori on the other hand, was a lot more practical and realistic than Jumala. In short, Kaori thought with her head, while Jumala thought with his heart.
"Your goals are as far fetched as ever, old friend." She smiled as she replied, shaking her head slightly. "But no one can deny your heart's in the right place. I do not like it, nor do I agree with this foolhardy plan of yours. But you promised to have my back if I needed it, and it's only just I return the favor. Jumala Heikka, if you truly plan on defeating a Vasto Lorde, if you wish, I will fight by your side." It was foolish of her, and captain Kukichi would likely have her head if he heard her talking like that, but if Jumala was set on this suicide mission, Kaori really didn't want him going at it alone.

"There's nothing to forgive Kaori, it wasn't your fault that you weren't there... I know you would've been if you had the chance" Jumala said with a smile, gently patting her shoulder as he continued and she replied. He knew they were only meant to keep the balance, but even so... "Thank you, Kaori, believe me I know how powerful a Vasto Lorde probably is... But even so I will not lose, I've got the power of Egypt protecting me remember?" He said giving her a huge toothy grin as he raised his arm and flexed, placing one arm on his bicep. "Besides, think of how the Gotei would react if we took down a Vasto Lorde! We'd be heralded as Heroes, Legends even! I bet we'd probably get some huge reward too!" His attitude seemed to yet again change on a dime, now acting far more less serious than he just had been. He gave her a solid pat on the shoulder before resting his hand on his Zanpakuto. "Besides, With you by my side there's no way we'd lose to anything... Because neither of us will let the other one die, right?" He said with the biggest cheesiest grin he could muster.

So I will take this burden on and become the holy one
Kaori knew it wasn't her fault, that there was no way of her knowing her friend was in trouble when he lived half a world away. But she never meant it on a physical level. Jumala's next words did sway Kaori's worry, if only a little. At least Jumala understood a Vasto Lorde was not on the same caliber as any regular Hollow, but there was still the issue that he was declaring it impossible for him to lose. He may be stronger than what he had been, but strength and power did not make someone invincible. "More like the power of naivety," the female stated with a snort. He still wasn't taking this seriously.
Kaori just shook her head. Legends and heroes, yeah right. "I doubt that," the female started, "Our taichous would more likely throw us into the Maggot's Nest for our stupidity." She didn't know Jumala's captain well, but what she did know was that she was fierce and quickly punished any who disobeyed her. The female eyed the male for the longest time when he next spoke. She would have his back, and he hers, but that didn't mean anything when it came time for the actual fight. "Saying you won't let another die and actually doing it are two separate things, Jumala. I will have your back, but I cannot say with absolute certainty that you, I, or even both of us will make it out of the fight alive." Kaori had always been brutal with her honesty, and even telling Jumala that she couldn't be positive she would be able to protect him was not enough to be an exception.
Remember I am human and I'm bound to sing this song
[attr="class","aeviscroll"]Kaori Mejiro... Same as ever. Jumala let out a light chuckle at her as he smiled at her words, She was, of course, right but that wouldn't stop Jumala from doing what he wanted anyway... It was just how he was. "As much as you may be right, I can't help but disagree with you everytime Kaori. I just can't let my life be dictated by someone else y'know? They may have given me these powers but that won't stop me from doing what I feel is right... Even if it directly opposes them y'know?" He did, of course, say this rather quietly. Jumala didn't want to be taken for a traitor or anything, he was far from that and was positive such a case would ever even come up. With a soft sigh he sat down, looking upwards towards the Sky "Can't wait to show my parents y'know... I wonder how they'll react when I tell them of what happened, of this place!" He said, looking over to Kaori "What about you? Gonna tell your folks about it? I mean... If you keep vanishing they'll eventually grow suspicious y'know? I figure probably best to just tell them, then again knowing your family who's to say they'll like that... With how political your family can get it could go either way really... Though I guess they could also try to use that to their advantage so..."
Jumala gave a slight shrug, he wasn't as privileged as Kaori was as far as family and position went, he was but a mere peasant and compared to her families status he was even lower than that. Still he had thankfully found a friend in her, and the two had grown quite close since and there was very little that would stop Jumala from doing everything he could to try and help her... And there was even less that could actually stop him once he started. In truth, Kaori was probably one of the only people that could make Jumala stand down or stand back and the odds of Kaori making him do that? Well... There were more people stupid enough who would challenge him directly. "Even if they try to throw us in the Maggot's Nest... At least I'll get to say I took down a Vasto Lorde... How many of them do you think can actually say they took one down all on their own?" He asked with that same cheesy, toothy grin on his face.
