Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.
The end is the only thing certain
The days had been long, She was tired and a war was brewing. So far she'd been approached by the quincy side of things, asking her to join them. Her memories flashed back to the silver haired Vizard and the power he held, but now she too was amongst those who had reached the pinnacle. She didn't feel particularly threatened by the mad vizard, still it wasn't like she owed anything to the Seireitai either way. They thought her dead and left her as such, and if she declared herself differently they would have hunted her like a dog that needed to be put down.
She sat on a park bench, one foot crossed over the other while her one arm stretched and relaxed itself atop the bench. Her left sleeve floated harmlessly in the wind, causing her to look down to where the missing limb used to be. She'd been through a lot to get to where she was now and she'd be damned if she let anyone take advantage of her again. If she did anything it would be on her grounds, her terms. Her eye's looked around the park, it was abandoned, there was no one to be seen, reaching into her coat she took out the button the vizard had given her and flipped it between her fingers.
"I suppose it's now or never," she said with a sigh. And with a gentle pulse she allowed her reiatsu to flow freely. It would be childs play for the Gotei to pick her up here. Hopefully they sent someone friendly and not some ass hat she'd want to punch.
"And behind door number one..." she began to whistle a little jingle as she waited to see who would show up to greet her.
{Item}Monban no Me [Gatekeeper’s Eye] - A prototype collaboration between the 12th division and kidoshu following the events of Aizen Sosuke’s rebellion. In order to better police travel between the three worlds, the shinigami sought a method to track garganta, with the intention to tune the Seireitei’s barrier to permanently prevent it being breached from the outside by hollow-based sources. The “gatekeeper’s eye” is actually a misnomer, as the kido formula and physical enhancements do not actually affect the user’s vision, but rather require attachment to nerves close to the brain to function properly. Hollowfied cells are also utilized, which have the unfortunate side-effect of warping the eye’s appearance and tainting the optic nerves. It is advised that users wear something over the eye to prevent headaches and vertigo, as a hollows vision, while only slightly different from a shinigami’s, clashes with the visual information from the other eye. This eye gives the user the following abilities: First, the user can sense garganta being opened in a massive radius around them, though pinpointing the exact location takes time. Second, using the temporary dimensional “scar” left behind by garganta, which can be seen using the eye, the user can re-tear a recent garganta open. Lasty, because of the tampering done to user’s nerves, a special extrasensory perception develops, described as almost identical to that used by jigokucho. This allows the user to navigate the senkaimon and precipice dimensions without recourse.
{Kido Specialization}Eishōhaki (詠唱破棄, "Incantation Abandonment"): is the skill in which a Kidō practitioner skips using a spoken incantation completely, but it drastically weakens the spell. This is applied as a 1-2 tier drop in the spells power depending on ones Kidou mastery, 2 for Beginner up to Advanced, and 1 for Mastered and above. However this also lowers the spells cooldown to match the lowered tier, to a minimum of Tier I.e.g A Tier IV Kidou be cast with Eishohaki as a tier II, its cooldown will also be the same at 0 posts.
Zen Sanshutsu Eishohaki (全産出詠唱破棄, Full Yield Incantation Abandonment): A specialisation of the arts that enables you to unleash the full Tier power of a Kidou without saying the incantation. Kidoshu members are able to do this by default, with how well they can do this dictated by their Kidoshu Perk Mastery. For other Shinigami to achieve the same effect, they must train each Kidou spell separately without incantations. [The spells noted to have this effect must be marked with a * on your profile. Ex-Kidoshu members can ignore this]
Nijū Eishō (二重詠唱, "Twofold Incantation"): A class of Kidō Incantation where the Kidō practitioner mixes the incantations of two entirely separate Kidō spells together to save time and confuse opponents simultaneously. Using this will allow players to mix and match two separate incantations and fire the Kidou spells back to back, not at the same time.

It was funny how these things came full circle some times. Of course, the Shinigami Research and Development Institution's sensors picked up the Visored's reiatsu signature. And from the Twelfth division, a call to the Gotei 13 was put out for a Shinigami who would be able to apprehend Shiori Sasaki, wanted visored. Arrests these days, unless you were a quincy, were much less bad news. You were prepared to work for the Gotei 13? You'd be welcomed, your history be damned. Nessa had been the one given the assignment. A personal connection, and sufficient strength to take on Shiori if it came to a fight? Check, and check. She threw on her black shihakusho, belted her sealed zanpakuto to her waist, and put her eyepatch upon her face. Might as well not give the game away about her restored eye. If it came to a fight, Nessa wasn't stupid, and she fought dirty. Any edge she could get, she'd take. A runner for the squad dropped a letter at her door that she was wanted for the assignment and within five minutes, she was stepping out of a Senkaimon not ten metres from Shiori. Her hidden robotic eye flicked around in her skull, absorbing all of the information around her, to ensure that she wasn't about to be jumped by anyone. But no, no ambush in sight.
She turned her gaze to Shiori. No arm. Was that new? Had she been like that when Nessa had last seen her? Who knew. She didn't remember and wasn't about to make an issue of it. She swivelled her eye to Shiori and scanned her up and down, examining with her eye what objects that her fellow visored had on-hand. Zanpakuto, clothes. Nessa, uncaring of Shiori's modesty looked through her clothes at her naked body; the dismembered arm was real and quite painful looking. Bummer. She appeared to be holding something strange in her hands but Nessa couldn't exactly work out what it was.
"Hello Shiori." she said with an uncharacteristic smile. Her hands were folded across her large bosom, confident that if attacked she'd be able to react on time. "Did you think a little more about our last conversation?" Nessa asked her sweetly. "Or were you just looking to stretch your legs?" she challenged, one visible eye sparkling.
{ITEMS}Name: Artificial Eye v1.0 Type: Item - Standard Tier: VII Condition: +10 Description: This is a replacement eye for the one that Nessa lost during her battle with her Inner Hollow. It resembles almost perfectly her original eye, except for an artificial glow that comes from it when Nessa is in dark places, and the slightly milky reflection it has when exposed to bright lights.
Name: Piercing Gaze mk I Class: Item Tier: I Type: Passive Range: 100m Description: The eye has incredible eyesight, and its vision can be zoomed in and out at will to see things far away, or extremely small. It is able to see through Kishi and Reishi (as long as it is not specifically from a technique designed to obscure vision). This enables her to see through buildings, her own head, clothes, etc. Nessa is also able to move it 360 degrees in her head to get a full field of vision. She can also switch the eye to different modes in order to see various frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum, as well as a sonar field.
Name: Image storage and playback Class: Item Tier: I Type: Passive Range: 50m Description: The eye not only enables Nessa to see but it also stores a 3D map of everything that happens around her. She is able to play back any memory at will by projecting it out of the front of her eye. This playback will also include an analysis of the reiatsu detected, though this feature cannot be used to improve Nessa's own reiatsu sense.

She knew the senkaimon was opening, before it opened and she sensed the familiar reiatsu before the owner of it was fully out of the trans-dimensional doorway. Well it seemed at least one of her wishes had been granted, they didn't send her someone that would probably have this meeting end up being counterproductive. She glanced over with her free eye and noticed that Nessa, her greeter and fetcher, was smiling which was unusual for her, but she also noticed that she was wearing her shihakusho. Meaning she was back in the employ of the Gotei? Perhaps she could strike a deal here after all. She twirled the button in her hand a few more times as Nessa spoke to her before flipping it into the air and then catching it and sliding it back into her pocket.
"It is a nice night for a walk, it's not cold, not too hot. Barely any clouds, you can see the starry sky." She said with a bit of a smile as she looked up. By this time, she was reigning her reiatsu in as to not draw the attention of others. She'd already got what she wanted although, it didn't matter she supposed. She glanced at Nessa once more, this one here wasn't able to properly conceal her large power. So curious cats would come looking either way if they really wanted to.
Sighing the vizard pushed herself to her feet, "So I see you're back with the Gotei. Congratulations, I guess all the rumours are true then." They needed soldiers for the war, what better way to get it than to open their gates to anyone who was willing to not be considered a criminal anymore. Though now you were always under constant surveillance, but at least not jailed. She'd hope anyways. "How's that been working out for you?"

As soon as Shiori spoke, Nessa would reign in her reiatsu signature until she was virtually undetectable. That, accompanied by the katana at her hip, signified yet another leap in power for her. Nessa glanced upwards with her hidden robotic eye, staring through her own brain and skull. There was a shrug. She yawned slightly, waiting for Shiori to make the first move. She stood up, and Nessa didn't move or react at all. No point being antsy, she didn't reckon Shiori had any reason to act aggressively towards her and she'd have to put her down if she did.
"Yeah, well Gage brought me in. It's the Soshi's fault I got hollowfied anyway. Fine. There's a whole squad of us outsiders. They even let that crazy bitch Emilia back, and her arrancar lapdog Theo." Nessa frowned. Those were two people she didn't think she'd ever be teammates with. "What about you... Any more run-ins with the Quincy? You must be pretty tired of running from everyone by now." Nessa prompted. Her one visible eye bored into her old squadmate's face. Her other eye monitored her for any signs of weakness, sweat, increased bloodflow, anything. "I take it that you're interested in coming back, otherwise you wouldn't just be throwing your reiatsu around like this. Or did you know they'd send me- and you wanted to talk to me specifically?" Nessa sneered at her own joke, her face curled into a rather unpleasant smile.

Gage? It wasn't anyone she was familiar with but she was sure she'd meet whomever it was if she did decide to go back to the Gotei. Though lets be real here, the only reason she called the shinigami here in the first place was because she had already made her decision. She noted that Nessa's reiatsu had been reigned in as well, which drew her attention to her friends hands, free of gauntlets. What had happened to Nessa since the last time Shiori saw her?
"Hmm," she glanced at Nessa giving her, her full attention. "Yeah, I believe it's time for me to come back. And no, didn't know they'd send you, glad they did though. If it was anyone else, well I might have just went back alone." She smiled and shrugged as a chuckle left her chest.
She flicked the button in her hand towards Nessa, "Here, I got you a gift." She walked over, assuming she caught it Shiori would continue to speak. "That was given to me by another vizard, as method of contacting him. He works for the Quincy and extended me an invitation to do the same. If you want, I was thinking we could use this as an opportunity to catch him."
She didn't particularly like that vizard, plus if she was going to be picking sides she had to play the part, right?

Nessa smiled at Shiori's confidence. She wasn't entirely certain that the visored would be quite so blasé once she'd seen how strong some of the Nibantai members were nowadays. She quietly assessed that she was also much stronger than her old comrade, unless Shiori had some great strength that she was hiding very adeptly. Nessa, now she was close, was able to analyze her reiatsu quite thoroughly, and it seemed as though Shiori was nearly but not quite at the stage she had been just after defeating her Inner Hollow and acquiring her visored powers.
Before she really had the opportunity to dwell too much upon it, however, Shiori had tossed her the object she'd previously been examining. She turned it over in her hands, touching it not really revealing much more than she already knew. Nessa vaguely recalled Shiori had told her about encoutering a visored working with the quincy beforehand. She'd heard stories of the white-haired menace but not much more than that. It was, in all likelihood, the same guy. She focused her gaze on Shiori. It was a bargaining chip. Something she wanted to assure her safety. Nessa shrugged. She'd hand it over to Nemu or someone as soon as they got back. If it were a danger bringing it into Soul Society, Mayuri would surely know about it.
"Well, someone could, at any rate. They'll probably want to interview you about your run-in with the quincy when you come back. But you oughtn't have to buy your freedom." She told her, pocketing the button. "You'll be subject to all the same rules that always governed us as shinigami when you come back, which means no jaunts into the human world. They're all pretty serious about that, but especially the Soshi- if you plan to rejoin the kidoshuu, that is." Nessa knew that she'd not wanted that at all but perhaps Shiori felt differently. "I guess what I mean is if you have any unfinished business you should clear it up now."

Interviews. Something she didn't want to deal with, though it was to be expected. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes but the clearly a clearly irritated sigh managed to escape her lips. If they were so keen on her well being and happenings, perhaps they should've tried harder to find her in the first place. Though she supposed she didn't exactly make it easy after she became a vizard. Nonetheless that was still a situation that derived from the way the Gotei treated vizard. She'd see just how much that changed once she got back.
The mention of the Soshi brought mixed feelings to Shiori, though she hid them well on the inside she wasn't sure if she would be happy to see Blod again, or angry. She did know however that she was nervous. Still she didn't really have plans to return to the Kidoshu. While she did enjoy her time there and she appreciated what Blod had done for her, Shiori's time in the living world opened her mind up to other ideas. Things she couldn't do while confined within the Kidoshu.
"Well, I can tell from your attire you didn't rejoin the Kidoshu. Full on squad 12 now?" She asked curiously as she walked towards the other shinigami. A small half smile tugged at Shiori's cheek as she joked with Nessa, "Either way it doesn't really matter, we should get going. The sooner we deal with all the formal bullshit, the sooner we can go grab a drink."
She was somewhat joking about the drink, but depending on how things went once she was back, she'd probably need that drink. Then it dawned on her, if she lost the ability to come and go as she pleased, getting her new arm would be tricky. She supposed she could rely on Mayuri, but he was a snake, one she wasn't particularly inclined to trust. Though she could probably try to sucker one out of the Gotei that didn't house a fucking bomb in it.

Nessa could see emotions fluttering across her companion's face. She got the feeling that Shiori would be less forgiving of the Gotei 13 than she herself had been, but Shiori'd probably be less vocal about it than Nessa herself would be had she felt the same way so it all balanced out. She couldn't read her mind though, and didn't want to assume what powerplay she was working her way towards.
"No. Squad two. There's a couple of Visored there. An an arrancar." she said bluntly, before returning Shiori's smile. Hopefully they wouldn't give her too hard a time when they came back. She nodded at the concept of a drink. The tension flowed out of her body now she realized that this was it, they were properly on the same side again. For now at least. She withdrew her zanpakuto and violently jabbed it into the air in the normal way, opening up a Senkaimon, the paper doors sliding apart in the air before them.
"After you, of course." Nessa told her sardonically, motioning for Shiori to enter the portal as she sheathed her sword once more.
