Many yew trees stood tall, healthy from root to trunk. Their leaves had too changed color since the start of autumn. Creatures such as bears filled their bellies with berries and fish for the coming winter. Kass, who had long stayed away from Europe, sought out special creatures. Their numbers were few but ever so delicious. They were neither Hollow nor Soul Reaper, but animal spirits containing great amounts of spiritual power. The spirits were powerful Familiars possessed by deceased Witches. They, who had lost control, stockpiles power by eating Humans. She had came here to feed.
Reishi inside the forest was thick. Vines and bushes blocking the direction Kass was going in. She didn’t want to damage the forest or her attire but needed through. A time ago she once ate a Quincy. Weak, Mixed Blooded having little spiritual power. Still, she could draw on the power of the digested soul and work on an ability she saw it use before passing by her hand. The idea behind was using reishi to move objects. Simple in theory and practice. Kass extended her arm when standing still. In front if her was a larger bush blocking the path.
Particles willed her command, moving around part of the bush. The thin limbs were being attached by reishi. She used her arm like a medium, a wand to focus the direction of what she wanted to control and for the reshi to go. An open palm that slowly closed. She envisioned a hand around the bush, tightening. The bush wiggled. A branch snapped. The technique wasn’t offensive directly in nature. It was meant to be uses to move objects. She took a deep breath and rose her arm above her head. The bush parted some branches erected up.

The bush remained erected, each tiny limb upright. While parting down the center, spirit particles began flowing from nearby down into soil. Kass wanted to have herself an easy path without worry her clothes might get damaged. She drew upon the soul inside once more, digging into memories that were but lingering embers. Reishi molded into thin long strings, starting with one multiple others wrapped around the original like twine ties together. Or like yarn. Should Kass ever have a mentor it was the many souls inside.
Suck and digest, living off another being’s lifeforce. Eventually so many souls together start making a ruckus inside your mind. That’s why Kass let food settle. She wouldn’t gordge herself, least she end up with more than thoughts that were not her own. Such as a tummy ache gas or gaining weight. The strings pulled down on the bush but soon snapped. They were meant to hold it down but had issues. She wasn’t good with reishi. Which was why she was practicing.
The strings were reshaped into chains. Reishi turning and bending, interlocking with oval shape links. The chains were thin, thicker than jewelry or thick as those who liked thick necklaces called bling. Kass moved her arm to signal the chains to tighten. They rattled, tugging tightly on the bush till it was flat onto the ground.
