APPEARANCE Leon is a tall young man who possess more of a asian ancestry in terms of facial structure. His skin is smooth as it holds a honey colored tone from being lightly tan on that one beach trip. Leon's piercing eyes hold the hazel blue-green coloration around the iris. The lad stands about 5 foot and 9 inches while weighing roughly 153 pounds. Lastly Leonidas holds a lithe build that is athletic yet not bulky.
Leon usually prefers comfortable clothing if he can help it, but he certainly likes suits as well. Usually the suit jacket is what Leon likes the most about a suit and even has one of his own. Leon's suit jacket is mostly black with some silvery threads that gives the crescent moon design. The rest of his formal attire is black slacks, white shirt with a black tie, and a pair of dress shoes or even boots in dark coloration. Onto his casual attire it varies as it depends on what Leon is in the mood for. This usually causes Leon to wear some graphic shirts or plain shirts; light jackets, shorts, flip flops, boots, you name it. Basically Leon will dress depending on the weather.
Most notably are the tattoos along his right arm and his back. The tattoos on Leon's right arm appears to be a large sets of fins with a large serpentine body emerging from what seems to be large bodies of water. Only seeing a set of glowing golden eyes from underneath the depths. Leonidas's back is the tattoo of a large chinese dragon of grey and silver scales with whiskers that seem to sway with the fluffy white clouds around it. At the top of his back above the dragon is the kanji for Ryu except that it is facing backwards on purpose. To signify that the dragon is always watching out for Leonidas.
PERSONALITY Leonidas is the confident sort as he always finds some self-assurance to inspire others. A scholar and historian-in-training during the day. Then a spiritualist during the night as Leon is a compassionate young human. Leon can go on all day about some dead guy in the past yet always eager to learn something new. So least to say that he's quite passionate with history itself.
Food is generally a good way to warm this man's heart, but really Leon can be a bit anti-social sometimes. Especially when he is researching about something and will travel the world to these special locations so he can learn more from the source. Coffee is Leon's go-to drink most of the time, but he doesn't mind drinking other beverages either. Favorite food happens to be udon noodles with seasoned pork covered in mongolian bbq sauce. Seasoned just right with some peaches cooked with the stuff and brings out the flavors more. The human is no chef, but he likes to cook and happens to be good at it.
Leonidas is quite the music lover and especially loves the acoustic guitar. Though he doesn't claim to be a musician, but during highschool as freshman Leon did learn how to play the acoustic for a few years. Music itself can improve his mood just by listening to it. Unless whoever is playing it sounds like nails on a chalkboard in which case Leon rather plug his ears than listening to that.
Leon hates Hollows and the only exception is maybe a few Arrancar and Vizards. Below their ranks won't receive an ounce of mercy nor compassion from Leon. Others such as Quincy, Mod Soul, Fullbringer, and maybe Bounts are treated with equal neutrality for each individual which only modifies depending on what happens. Shinigami and Lost Souls are often treated with just business as most Shinigami who come to the Human World is only because they have to. Leon has only met a small handful that were willing to come back for vacations.
HISTORY
The Quinlong family has been around the Human World for a while. Once referred to priests in modern culture, and shamans in tribal communities. Leonidas originates from a family of spiritualists in China. His family are devotees to Taoism and in a sense Leonidas also follows the Taoism on a more philosophy level. So least to say he was raised to be the spiritual devotee as Leon previously believed in Yokai.
Up until the start of Leon’s highschool years Leonidas grew up in a normal life with using Taoism beliefs and faith as his moral compass. Believing on believing in one’s self as Leon chooses to be motivated and not be manipulated. Rather than believing in some unseen entity to guide his way Leon forges his own path. So when he actually started to see Lost Souls wandering through the Human World Leon was taken back. Still he was quick to adjust and started to investigate his own religion. Mainly to find anything that might help him, and when his family caught on they revealed their family’s history.
They allowed Leonidas to research more about the spiritual world and named what others call Hollows as Husks. An empty shell of their former self as they roam the realms in tormenting hunger that can never be fulfilled. Of course during his past research Leon has encountered both Shinigami and Hollows more times than he liked before Leon discovered his human powers. Getting by with warding spells to defend against brutal assaults and then counter. It twas only last year that the source of his human powers actually came from a ring gifted to him by his mother. Only then did Leon actually taking his research into field work.
Graduating from high school and even started to work like normal humans do. This was really to save up enough money to travel towards what is considered sacred sites around China and found numerous sources that points the Husks and Shinigami alone have been around for centuries. Some of these sources also pointed at Karakura’s direction, and that is where Leon’s story within Karakura begins.
