You should probably change this to a hand to hand class technique. Also please remove the mention of items from the second half, as defensive items have their own rules and guidelines and in many cases do not have a simple tiered value that is calculated with tiers. In fact its probably best to just remove the last sentence of the description as it doesn't really serve a purpose for the technique.
