There were few things in the Arrancar's life now a days that made him happy, or could reverse a rather disgustingly bad mood. Those bad moods wound up with enemies flayed alive and entire sinkholes leading to the Menos Forest. Today, such a fit was swayed by...kittens. A whole litter of them, as well as the presence of the mother and father cat. To think that a being such as Theocelese--hard for an outsider to believe, could find joy like no other in simply playing with a whole herd of cats. There were eight of them in total, and in various colours. Black. Black and white, gray...though the mother, a jet-black cat and the father, a strange looking tabby, stood out only due to their size. He'd been trouncing around in Karakura Town, keeping tabs on the city. If a Hollow came to find a meal, it would only find a blade instead. Should a Quincy come 'round....That was another horror story in itself. Though for the time being, the man was content sitting in the alleyway, opening up cans of cat food and letting the little critters climb about him.
Like in all cases, Theocelese did not come to this realm as he was. Rather, he donned a special body known as a Shigai. Much like the Shinigami Gigai, though this one was far more adept at allowing him to blend in. Different devices built in allowed anyone with sensory skills to indeed locate him if he so chose, but he'd only come off as a human. A limiter, much like the Shinigami variant, capped his power output to still any residual destruction from occurring. Best of all, though, his appearance was completely different. The long, dark, lucious and vibrant locks of brown hair remained the same, but all else was different. In this body, bitterness and resentment were not etched into his face like ancient marble. He looked, felt, and for all intents and purposes...was human.
"You're just great aren't you?" He said to a little replica of the mother cat, lifting the male kitten up and cradling him like a baby.
It was odd to see a man in an alleyway playing with cats in the first place, but when that man was dressed like he ran a multi-billion dollar company...Suit, tie, and all. That would have just made things all the more strange.
Looking through the various shop windows absentmindedly, Jade happily gawked at the rustic-themed clothing and artisan furniture each store had to offer. It was a nice reprieve from the recent upturn she's had to face in her life, a day where she could walk around and feel normal...whatever that was supposed to mean nowadays. She felt relieved to finally put her worries and stress to the back of her mind and act like a regular woman out on the street without a care in the world. Just another passerby enjoying some window shopping, a big grin stretched across her face.
She stopped momentarily at a storefront that was faintly colored with faded pastel greens and yellows. It reminded her of Easter, and the sickly-sweet smell of those little plump duck shaped candies she hated so much. What were those called? Peeps? Bleh, she thought to herself. Directly inside the window hung something that resembled a porch swing, although more decorated than what one would expect: it was painted with an off-white color, intentionally distressed looking, and adorned with a forest green, rough knit throw and weather resistant floral pillows. Drawn to this swing, Jade spent a moment imagining the swing being hung out on a round-a-about porch somewhere with lots of healthy green grass. Perhaps a mossy rock walkway leading from a packed dirt driveway. She could see herself curled up with the pillows and the throw reading one of her mystery novels, a cup of piping hot coffee beside her steaming in the light of the rising sun. Shaking her head, she chided herself. It was a cliche daydream and her likelihood of ever finding herself in such a place was slim to none. Yet, she couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth come over her at the image. Silliness.
Some obnoxious noise pulled her attention away, her watch beeped at her almost like it was impatient with her dawdling. She glanced down and frowned. Her quiet day out on the town had come to an end. She took in the swing one more time before forcing her face away and begrudgingly walking away.

And just like that, the little black kitten went still. It's attention went elsewhere, and in a sudden burst of agility the little creature corrected itself and gracefully leaped from the man's arms, all four legs taking it towards the end of the alleyway. Theocelese stood up, and began chasing after it. The immediate street was no place for such an animal to be going, and as the kitten reached the middle of the street, Theocelese now having just exited the alleyway, his concerns were confirmed. A car was coming down the what was supposed to be a slow-speed road, at considerable velocity. He hadn't noticed the red-head he barreled into, nearly knocking over as he dashed into the street. In a leap of his own, the man hit the pavement and scooped up the few-week old cat in both arms again, albeit this time in a more protective fashion. The car squealed, its breaks working hard to stop, but did not stop in time. The impact sent him back a few feet, and onto the ground to lay motionless for some moments. The people in the car, young adults who obviously lacked driving experience, just sat in their dented vehicle stunned.
A loud meow came from the man's arms, and panicked, the kitten escaped and ran back to its family. The man in the suit, much to all the witnesses surprise, groaned and stood up. The fabrics were damaged, and a long gash bled from above his left eye. Other than that, the man looked to be in no other forms of physical distress. When he began walking towards the car, rolling up the sleeves, the people in the car sped off. He'd remember those faces and address this injustice in due time. For now, though, his gaze shifted towards the woman he knocked over and approached her. Both hands sunk into their respective pockets, and from them, pulled a bent cigarette and lighter out.
As she caught herself from nearly being knocked over, Jade felt a split moment of irritation which quickly devolved into confusion seeing a man hurdle directly into traffic. A rather well-dressed man. Acting like a loon. Was he drunk? Or about to do something reckless? As she heard the screeching of brakes and rubber treading asphalt, she panicked. Her mouth dropped open to warn him but the impact happened far too quickly before any sound could escape her. His body was sent violently flopping back onto the street. Although the thud was solid he looked like a ragdoll being tossed by a tantrum throwing toddler.
He lay there a moment and passerby started pulling out their cell phones, dialing frantically. Jade took an instinctual step towards the street to run out and help him but paused as she watched a little kitten escape his arms and run back from the direction he had come. How had she missed the kitten before? It was all so...bizarr on such an otherwise tranquil afternoon.
She watched, dumbfounded, as he first took an aggressive stance toward the car which had thrown him, almost as though he were about to drag out the driver in an altercation. He looked menacingly enough that they fled in a frenzy, their eyes wide and wild. He made his way to her without so much as a limp or grimace of pain on his face. She assumed this must be a mixture of adrenaline and an incredible threshold for pain. She had seen a handful of patients act similarly after trauma.
"Uh...yea. I'm fine but," she paused to look him over. A visual sweep for blood which produced nothing other than the scrape on his face. Remarkable, but she had to assume there would be internal injuries. "I think the important question is, are you? That was a pretty significant hit you took."
