So just so you know the rank is not really dependent on the history or training of your character. It is based off the collection of your mastery levels shown in the Improvement Guide.

ML - Minimum for Advanced Mastery. Must get at least Average Zanpakutou Spirit to rank-up.

Your mastery point total with the purchases gets you to ML-a though so your good.
