Recess, a welcome retreat from the day's curriculum. It wasn't all that different from the classes at Karakura. On the other hand, everything else about Naruki high school was. Having to ask one of the teachers where the bathrooms were had been an embarrassment in and of itself. It wouldn't have been so bad if she hadn't had to go in the middle of class, coupled by the fact that the current teacher at the time had been Male. Shiro sat on one of the benches around the school playground sinking her face in her arms as she remembered the incident. "What a way to start the year off as a transfer student..." Shiro groaned, wishing she'd scouted the building before actually transferring and attending classes. At least then she wouldn't have thrown herself into such a ridiculous situation.
Scrounging through her backpack, Shiro pulled out one of her workbooks. Regardless of whatever came of her mistakes, the fact remained that she'd fallen behind in schoolwork and needed to catch up, even if it was just a few weeks worth of homework. History. "Well this is..." Shiro wasn't sure if she could call this a proper subject anymore... maybe if it had been called world history. It seemed odd to think that history, according to this book, only covered what living humans knew about the world and its past. Heck the thing never even once mentioned or played with the possibility of other worlds being out there. Shiro closed the workbook setting it down over her lap. She couldn't focus on this right now... not with everything that happened. Free time for her had started making her reflect on life, on the spiritual worlds of Las Noches and this other world she hadn't yet gotten to see called Soul Society.
What she needed right now wasn't a school oriented focus... What she needed was a straight up distraction from it all...
Another book would tumble out of Shiro's bag. A gift from a teacher of a different sort. Maybe she'd forgotten to take it out or maybe the teacher had put it in unbeknownst to her...but in any case the book flopped out with dramatic flair.
Now normally it wouldn't be such a big deal for a book to fall from a back pack. But this book was different. It held a small scent of it's previous owner. And it would be this scent that would attract Hueco Mundo's tiniest hero to Shiro's side. A little white and black motion darted from the bushes on the playground like a little bolt of lightning, only to stop ontop of said fallen book to sniff at it curiously.
It was a hollow....but a very tiny one as hollows go. Twelve inches long, the lizard like creature tilted his head to the side as if it was reading the book's cover with one eye, nostril's flaring at the scent coming from the tomb. It'd then raise his snout looking up at the girl child who to now the book belonged. "Greetings and salutations." Came a very strange and accented reverberation from the collar around the lizard's neck. "This is tomb of stories belongs to a very strapping Grecian does it not?"
The reptile's computerized voice sounded almost like a proper British male. "I do not suppose you know of his whereabouts do thee?"
Shiro shuffled in her seat, a book titled 'The Illiad' having fallen from her bag. It wasn't a school issued book by any means, but Shiro had been spending some of her free time reading it all the same. She looked over the bench intending to recover it before the book got even dirtier than it already was and came face to face with an odd looking lizard wearing a collar. Things got a bit more curious when a strangely polite and oddly mechanical voice resonated from the lizard's collar.
Her heart skipped a beat and the girl's first reaction to the unusual sight before her was to pick her feet up off the ground and onto the bench with her. "w-w-wha...!?" Shiro started, not sure how to respond to the lizard. Shiro was finding her spiritual awareness to be full of new experiences and this moment in time was perhaps one of the stranger occurrences thus far. She felt like she were experiencing what seemed like a fairy tale made real. Sure there were stories where animals talked in human languages and paraded around on two feet when they would normally be on all four, but those fantasies didn't compare to the odd talking lizard staring up at her.
"Grecian...?" Shiro questioned the critter, noticing the hole in its body. Is this thing a hollow...? The girl wondered, though she didn't feel any kind of threatening aura coming from the beast. Shiro reached a hand down, carefully picking the book up off the ground so as not to alarm the small creature even while it continued to sit on top of the novel. She returned her feet to the ground and set the book, along with the lizard, on top of the workbook that already lay in her lap. "Are you perhaps referring to The-... erm... Mr. Rose?" Shiro questioned, remembering Theocelese's words about using his actual name while in the human world.
Iiname blinked then tilted his head as the copper haired girl's feet retreated to higher ground. Strange, he'd never seen a greeting like that before. A strange reptilian purr would come from the lizard once he realized she had done such a reaction out of surprise. True his form was startling for most but he'd never had attacked a person's ankles before. In any matter though the little warm one didn't seem the sort to attack him so she'd have nothing to fear from his glorious furry.
A pink little tongue flickered out past his lips as if to taste the air around him. "Yes. Grecian. A large one at that." Iiname would say gently as the girl moved to pick the book and him up. He'd be seated on his back haunches, with a long black tail wrapped around himself by the time the book made it to her lap. "Would make at least 4 of you little one." He'd say to the girl, eyes blinking much like a crocodiles would.
"Mr..... Rose?" He'd say and the mechanical voice would become more mechanical at the word 'Rose' like it had never formed it before. "That's a very strange name....perhaps? OH! But my manners have apparently been sleeping for as long as I have....Names. Names...." His head would tilt at Shiro as if to regard her with one green eye. "Yes we should now exchange names should we not?" He'd ask.
Iiname's chest would then puff in pride and his chine would tilt up at her as if to raise himself higher in her opinion. "I," He'd start and then stand. "Am Iiname." He'd flourish with a little lizardly bow. "Friend of Theocelese and many others." He'd apparently not received the same warning that Shiro had.
"And you dear child?" He'd ask returning to his seated position on the book. "May I be so bold as to inquire your name?"
"Y-yes...! That would be right..." Shiro flustered, taking a quick glance around to see if anyone was paying attention to her or would be close enough to hear them. Reaching into her pocket, the girl pulled out a bluetooth earbud and propped it over her right ear. If anyone overheard her talking they would see the device and simply think she was having a phone conversation. "He told me that while he was in this world I should call him by the name; Mr. Rose." She explained to the lizard, Shiro couldn't help but think the creature's stance was cute. It reminded her of a character from a movie she'd seen, though she couldn't remember which one...
"It's nice to meet you Iiname, my name is Shiro Inazuma. You can just call me Shiro." The teen smiled down at the lizard. It was hard for her to see this creature as a hollow, what with how friendly and polite he was being. Shiro was beginning to think that, like humans, the personalities and motivations of Hollows varied greatly from Hollow to Hollow.
Shiro carefully shifted the books, pulling the workbook out from under Theocelese's book and placing it back in her bag. The distraction she'd needed had clearly shown itself, she wouldn't be catching up on any school work right now.
Iiname's green eyes would slowly blink again. "What an ever odd thing for him to have you do." He'd say of this 'Mr. Rose' business. She'd move the workbook and Iiname would seem to read it's cover too as she put it away. "You have many books..." He'd make note out loud. "You must be a very wise scholar!"
Of course! That would make sense as to why she knew Theocelese!...er Mr. Rose... He always did make the most interesting friends. He'd blink at her saying her name. "ksssShiro." The mechanical voice again sounded more so mechanical as it warped it's programming over the name. "Ssshiro. Shiro." He'd say the name enough to where it would sound more natural and less mechanical. "Like the color?" He'd ask the girl.
"A very nice name indeed." Iiname would say after pondering over the name. "So Scholar, How is the mountain of a man? I've been searching for him. You see I had apparently fallen fast into slumber and awoke to everyone I know, or knew to be missing." He'd sounded sad at the second part. "I was worried I'd have to make all new allies...though...."
The lizard seemed to be beaming up at her. "Though I suppose I am not opposed to making allies of allies...I am very please to meet your acquaintance. You must be a very powerful scholar to be out here on your own...has this been your territory for long?" He'd ask hoping he'd not been rude with his walking around what he presumed was her area.
The way the lizard's collar seemed to work the sound of her name until it sounded the way she'd stated it was indeed interesting. Was it perhaps interpreting the creature's thoughts and converting them into audible words? Shiro thought, her eyes following the lizard's gestures as he complimented her name.
"I don't think I'm quite smart enough to be a scholar just yet... but maybe someday if I keep up on my schooling." Shiro kindly corrected the lizard. So he's like me then too... The girl's eyes saddened. How much suffering and pain existed in this spiritual world she'd gotten involved with. Even a hollow like Iiname had suffered it seemed. Shiro's hand came down gently over the creature's head, drifting over to his back before returning to his head. "Allies of allies, I like that." Shiro giggled. The phrase itself made sense but the girl couldn't keep from revealing a smile as she thought about it. Allies of allies were all simply allies in the end were they not?
"...Ah! Shiro lifted her hand from Iiname's head, finally realizing she'd been petting him for a little while now. "S-sorry! I-I didn't mean to be rude! The teen apologized, Unsure of what to do with her offending hand. She opted to use it to push some of the copper hair that had fallen over her bangs back over her ear, her eyes straying away from the lizard's gaze as she did so.
Gross! Beneath the hazy sphere within the sky, a collection of students traveled in two teams, one opposing the other in attempting to control the ball and the basketball courtyard—A great stress reliever! Passed between the mixture of students, there was a total of twelve students, majority were male with two woman choosing to play and with that in mind. Captured within an ebony haired female’ hands, the basketball was tossed in a jump straight for the opposing team’s hoop and as soon as the ball came close, it had been rejected by hitting the loop and leaving the female panting, covered in sweat and in disappointment. A smirk or five painted the lips of those opposing, there was a little sexism in the sport, which was quite fine.
“You are an idiot, Lissa.” Dull in tone, the feminine voice of a friend called out to the distress ebony haired female, who seemed to be named Lissa. Following up with the basketball, pink strings fluttered in the breeze produced by her movement and with a leap to catch, Sayuri with her right hand smacked the bottom of the ball and launched it right back up, into the hoop. Hitting against the glass painted square and allowing it to score.
“Match!” Holding a white board in hand with some black marks upon it, a male student extended his hand with a market and pointed to his right, awhile looking to his left. “Black tops win!” He shouted. It was white tops versus black tops.
After the event? That display? Sayuri, the pink haired female with ruby hues softening into a gentler pink, buried her face into a cloth and cleaned her face from any of the sweat—“I will meet you inside.” Sayuri spoke devoid from any compassion to her friend Lissa. Her head turning to look in the direction of a new student, Inazuma, who had a hollow in hand it seemed, but Sayuri was smart enough not to make it seem like she noticed it. “I was told to introduce myself to the Inazuma. One of her teacher said she may have a hard time.” Sayuri explained, moving to walk to the female.
Bee-lining over the yard, one that seemed to be covered with a few male students getting ready to play another game, her pink gaze fell upon Shiro who seemed to be speaking to someone through a device. Ah, a heaven made device. A few female students nearby seemed to be whispering a few interesting words, such as the status of Shiro and her transfer, girls being petty. “Excuse me.” Sayuri said with a gentleness to her tone, despite being empty in emotion. She tried not to seem standoffish. Stopping a good five feet from Shiro, ensuring her personal space and all. She removed the cloth from her forehead and pressed it into her cheek. “You are Shiro, no?” She questioned.
Offering a bit of conversation to spare Shiro, her gaze looked to her right, straight at the four girls that seemed to be talking behind their hands and it was with Sayuri' icy stare that they choose to shut up, averting their gaze from Shiro and proceeded to walk away, stiffened and seemingly scared. 'what a freak...' they whispered in depart. Those words aimed to Sayuri, than ever to Shiro.
“Mmm.” She sighed softly, being the only real expression she had.
"Ooooh?" Iiname seemed to think on her modesty. "I do believe only the most wisest of scholars ever think themselves unwise." He'd compliment her on her humility. "I too though would at one point like to be scholarly." He'd thump Theo's book with his tail "I'm afraid this book is to blame for that. It is very much an enjoyable read." He'd said proudly to have read such a very large book.
He'd seem to beam once more at her enjoying the idea of being allied with him. "Well yes." He'd said of her liking it. "One can never have too many friends."
Iiname didn't seem to mind being petted. She'd not be the first to do so and he dare say she'd be the last to do so. "Hmm?" A curious purr came along with a tilt of his head as Shiro seemed to be upset for petting him. "I do not consider anything you've said rude." Iiname sounded a bit confused not realizing she had been embarrassed from petting him. It must be some weird two legger thing.
The lizard's eyes would pulse green for a moment as another warm one approached and more so ...she spoke. Iiname would adjust his position so that his back wasn't facing this new child. that would be rude after all. He'd wait to see if the girl seemed to notice him before speaking. Warm ones after all didn't always seem to be able to see him. "Do you think she has the sight Scholar?" He'd ask Shiro of Sayuri.
"mmm... I don't know..." Shiro responded to Iiname's question, still assured of her faux phone conversation's validity when viewed from the point of view of an outsider. Ironically, Shiro looked up, adjusting her hair just as the girl Iiname asked about was coming over. She noticed the lizard adjust his position, intending not to be rude should this other girl be able to see him. Shiro was certain this creature must have been some sort of butler in his previous life and not just a simple lizard.
"You've read this whole book?" Shiro, cleared her throat, doing her best to pretend like she'd meant that statement for the speaker in her ear. "I've read it once... I... failed to understand much of it then. Mr. Rose offered this one to me to read so I've been rereading it a little at a time so that I can follow it more closely"
"Yes, I'm Shiro" She looked up at the pink-haired girl who'd addressed her. None of the other new classmates had bothered to introduce themselves to Shiro outside of formalities thus far. She wondered if the girl who stood in front of her now was the same. Maybe she'd been told to get along with her because the teachers didn't want Shiro to feel alone? "What might your name be?" Shiro asked, not wanting the girl to think she were blowing her off. She was about to continue petting Iiname since he'd said it was fine but stopped herself short of his head, inclining to pass it up by setting her hand down on the book. She didn't want this pink-haired girl thinking she was an oddball who strokes the air for seemingly no reason at all.
Relying on her peripheral vision, she confirmed that was a lizard and a hollow. Isn’t that an interesting sight, another spiritually aware human… Now. Was she just a normal human or did she have some relation to what the Fullbringers could do? She doubted the girl was a Quincy, but there was more favors to those people than gum. So. For now. She’ll pretend not to notice the creature, but she wouldn’t go as far as to speak over it.
“Sayuri Suzume.” She answered Shiro with the same tone, nothing changing. Placing the towel around her neck, she canted her head to the right and thought for a moment. “You are to follow me to the next few classes. We seem to have those in common.” She explained, being a bit too direct and straightforward. She hoped not, but oh well if so.
“That is quite the book.” Her gaze moved downward at Shiro’ lap, thinking a bit on the creature, but choose to seem she thought about the book. She choose to dip a bit more into the conversation—Scanning around her, left and right. Noone else seemed to notice, none of those that are aware. Seemed like they went inside. “Do you have a moment? I was told show you around.”
Iiname nodded to Shiro’s words about the book. “It can teach a lot.” He’d say as he observed the other warm one that had come up. He’d blink as the girl’s gaze shifted from Shiro to him....or rather the book he was sitting upon. In some strange instinct the tiny hero shift from the book, up Shiro’s arm and came to a new perch on her shoulder. Just in case Sayuri too was trying to read the cover. “Oh another scholar? How is it this territory has so many of you?” Iiname asked Shiro perplexed.
He’d blink as Sayuri seemed to pan around looking. “I hope she’s not in some sort of trouble.” He’d say from his new perch. “Offer to help her if she is. She feels....different from you....but not bad.” Ah yes the little hollow lizard’s senses were sharper than normal lizards. He'd blink at the word 'classes'. "Claaaasssessss" His mechanical voice whirred out in confused unfamiliarity. "What are Claasses?" He'd ask Shiro very curious to what this new word meant.
"Can you eat classes?" Shiro and Sayuri both would find that the more they hung around Iiname the more the topic of conversation would always come around to food. "Do they taste like the strings in hot water cups? I do enjoy those." It was ramen but seeing as he'd never been told what the strings were he described them as best as he could. "I've not had those in some time..." Iiname's tone turned nostalgic for a moment before realizing he had been on a different subject other than food. "I would like to accompany you to these Claaasess if I may."
Ever the gentlelizard he'd as permission to follow Shiro and her new friend.
"Nice to meet you Sayuri." Shiro nodded to the girl's introduction. "I'm sure we'll have fun then. I was afraid there wouldn't be anyone here to count on during my first day." Shiro could feel a bead of tension building. She wasn't sure if it was her faux attempt or the fact that this girl seemed a bit too direct about her showing Shiro around the school. Whatever the case may be, Shiro decided to ignore the feeling for now.
"It is quite the book huh. Sometimes I feel like it teaches me more than these classes do." Shiro responded to Sayuri's seeming interest in the book she held, while equally trying to explain to Iiname. She looked down at the book, the sensation of the hollow climbing up her arm and onto her shoulder felt strangely light to her. The girl hoped that her mentioning the book and classes together would give him enough hint that classes were for learning and not eating as she struggled to hold the two conversations together.
Was the hollow comparing classes to... Ramen? Shiro smiled at the idea of having this Hollow around. He seemed like an interesting character, full of curiosity and questions. It kind of reminded her of herself now that she was under Theocelese's care and tutelage. "Sure I'd like that." Shiro picked up the book and placed it back into her backpack, standing up from the bench while simultaneously pulling the bag up over the shoulder opposite the hollow. "We should probably be getting to class anyway, I think recess is over." Shiro noted, indicating the now nearly vacant playground.
Tugging at a corner of her lip, there was a gentle lift—She was humored for a moment. Was it due to the lizard believing school to be a food or was it Shiro speaking about classes? Nonetheless, it was a more human expression that almost revealed itself upon her neutral-reversed face. “The world is a stage and the school is a dress.” Sayuri explained to Shiro. Offering a bit of advice, one could say. “It is something that makes people like us look quite good, if we choose to don it and waste our time doing the makeup.” Relating to the two, school was nothing more than a flavor to the world in her mind, and yes, makeup meant homework. Creativity allowed knowing a bit more when someone choose to take the effort in the library, but when someone choose to take the dance in class, they would always be met with limited knowledge or a repeat on things they were taught in middle school.
It was refreshing to know Shiro seemed to explore her options. As much as Sayuri wanted to state there was no need to worry for her, she’d be addressing the hollow creature and speaking of that lizard. She’d hope it’ll hide within the girl’s hair, it’ll be easier to hide and some wouldn’t been that aware to sense it. However, yes. The pink haired female did have an unique feel to her, much like other Fullbringers, she had a hollow taint to her and it seemed to embrace her more than the normal at that.
“Ah. Yes.” She agreed with Shiro. Her attention turning to look behind her, it was basically a ghost yard at this point. Pivoting on her right heel, she swayed to the right and began to walk with a brisk pace, quite in a haste. At least, until she realized she did invite Shiro with her and choose to slow down in a moderate pace. She walked with too much direction sometimes. “Our next class is theater arts.” She stated, peeking over her shoulder as her right hand extended to pull the door open. With a gesture, she wanted Shiro to enter first. How nice.
“Due to your transfer, they choose to give you theater and hoped it wouldn’t be too much of an issue.” She explained the details—How did she know those? The hallway was quite empty too. It seemed more people were in the changing rooms or already moving to their class. Or maybe, Sayuri choose the more quiet and peaceful route.
“If it is. I can request another class transfer for you.” Oh yes, she made it sound that easy.
Iiname’s head tilted as the two girl children spoke to each other of klases and reses. Neither of which he knew anything about. This place was all too interesting. He must explore it more so as to be about to fully tell Theoceles and the golden haired goddess about it later. Yes he might be a warrior but he was also a bard at heart. “To these classes then!” He’d say excitedly, tail twitching behind him. Her realize Shiro was trying to speak to him and still not look like she was. He understood it, but the more the Sayuri one spoke the more he got the feeling she could see him.
As for his perch. He didn't seem to keen on moving. Especially once the girls began to move. Normally he'd walk on his own but...well it was just easier to see everything from higher up. Hueco Mundo's mightiest hero would tilt his head at Sayuri as she went to walk forward, leading the way as it were. He'd move to look at Shiro. "Careful or that one will leave us behind he mused near her ear."
If and when Shiro would catch up he'd finally address Sayuri. "Say, you CAN see me can't you?" He'd ask the pink haired stoic. "GREETINGS! I am Iiname!" It was like he'd once again remember he had indeed had manners. "Friend of Shiro! and Many others!" It was much akin to the greeting he'd given Shiro only with Shiro's name instead of Theocelese. "I've been to one of these Theater's before. A very nasty rat king was terrorizing a small girl who danced on her toes. It was a very bizzare coliseum you two leggers set up. War with music in the wings. It was quiet grand...a little morose but still grand none the less."
"Well I think it's better to get this part of the learning done than to be unable to further one's goals in life by skipping the basic essentials." Shiro shrugged, being careful not to disturb Iiname's perch as she did so.
"Theater sounds amazing!" The girl almost bounced at the notion of a class engaging creativity rather than memorizing pointless facts. She'd been hard pressed to concentrate on the classes with everything else going on in her life until now. A theater class would do well to break up the monotony of educational classes that high school forced her and every other student to attend. "That is, I don't see any need to change the class course." Shiro followed up, reassuring Sayuki that theater was alright.
Shiro flustered, not realizing that Sayuri still continued moving forward at a brisk pace until Iiname pointed it out to her. She picked up her own pace to catch up to the pink-haired girl, intending to start small talk with the other girl while they walked to class. Unfortunately the lizard had other ideas as he quickly directed his speech toward Sayuri, introducing himself and asking questions. "S-Shh!! what do you think you're doing!? Of course she can't see you!" Shiro Whispered anxiously to Iiname in an attempt to silence his outburst. It wasn't until after she reacted did she realize how pointless and foolish the act was.
"ah...haha... I... forgot I was still on..." Shiro laughed nervously, pulling the bluetooth earbud out of her ear and putting it in her pocket in an attempt to derail any suspicions Sayuri might have about her behavior just then.
That was a relief to her numb heart, the girl seemed to hold quite the glee in theater arts and that was almost music to the rosy haired girl—She didn’t express it, but she adored theater, singing and dance. Most clubs had her involved with their workings! Along with the student body, she was a part of that too. She didn’t say that or state that anywhere. The hints seemed to be there. “I see.” She replied with a bit of softness in tone. She understood moving must be hard on some people, what she lacked in emotion and expression was made up in her personal experience for loss and pain. The worst has happened to her and despite not be able to feel it all, she understood and physically felt a way—A good way.
“I am glad.” She stated within that same dull, matter-of-factly tone. It countered all her friendliness. But it was a wonder, was she doing this because of her job or was she doing it because she actually happened to be a decent person behind this emotionless face. This glassy vail. It mattered not. What mattered was this problematic lizard. A lizard that now started to speak to her, quite friendly and sweet. He seemed like a gentleman, which is quite weird and wonderful at the same time. He made more manners than half the school!
Ceasing all form of movement, Sayuri stopped with a suddenness and turned, straight facing Shiro—Meeting her with an excuse and a nervous laugh. She made sure to leave a whole minute between her words, allowing an eerie silence to linger between them as she turned with an icy gaze at Shiro. Straight into her eyes. Those soft pink hues belonging to Sayuri turned into deep ruby hues. A gentle breeze danced between the two, almost like a cold chill. After a whole minute. And it was after this whole minute. Her lips parted.
“I am see him.” She said with a new found ice to her tone, making sure to break all forms of ice. There was noone else in this hallway, but Sayuri, Shiro and the Lizard. “I can hear him too.” She admitted with harsher chill to her tone. Her hues flickered to the Lizard with her arms moving to cross underneath her bosom. “I was not going to be the one to judge or make a choice for you.” There was a pause there as she stepped forward, engaging in closer space to Shiro without any form of hostility, at least, not yet.
“If I had been anyone else in this school. You would have become a snack.” Oh yes, she said those words without any consideration to Shiro and just choose to give her the harshness of it. “Due to the state of Iiname, most will not be able to tell the difference between my signature and his. So. You should be considerably safe with me. I will also be walking you home. To ensure noone gets a funny idea.” She paused again, canting her head.
“Any questions?” Her voice became a bit friendlier, lesser cold like before. Back to full neutral.
Iiname would seem to pout at being shhhed. "But..I really think she can." He'd say like a child that had gotten scolded. His little head hung low. Maybe he had been wrong? But Sayuri DID feel like his hueco mundo home in an odd way. All of his little hopes and dreams of making yet another ally were sinking....that was until Sayuri confirmed his theory on her.
"Huzzah!" His little lizard head was once again held high in pride. "And good fortunes to ye little petal." He'd say making comment on her hair color more than anything it would seem. "How fortuitous it is we are lucky enough to happen upon each other is it not?" He'd be talking to both girls at that though it would be very apparently Sayuri's cold tone was lost on him.
Iiname would blink then tilt his head at the mention of a snack. Now THAT was a word he most certainly knew. "A snack?" He'd ask looking at Shiro wondering why anybody would snack on the girl. "Preposterous!" He'd fume at the idea. "They'd face my wrath first!" And with that exclamation the little lizard's chest would inflate making him appear larger that he was.
"Questions?" Iiname repeated as Sayuri continued talking. He'd tilt his head at Shiro to see if she had any since he couldn't think of any himself. "No...I suppose I don't have any of th...OH! I do have a question!" He'd say way too proud of himself in posture and tone for thinking of one. "When do we eat?"
The tone of Sayuri's voice sent a freezing chill running down Shiro's spine. "Y-you can...?" Shiro's voice cracked at Sayuri's affirmation of both hearing and vision with regards to the hollow on her shoulder. Up until now, Shiro hadn't fancied the idea of other humans also being aware of spirits. Then again, it was possible this could mean that Sayuri girl wasn't actually human. And what did she mean by becoming a snack? The only thing that'd tried to eat her thus far had been hollow, but none of them had been as polite, kind, or as considerate as Iiname.
Now that Sayuri mentioned the state of Iiname, the feeling she'd sensed when Iiname approached her and the feeling Sayuri seemed to give off did feel similar. While she hadn't felt threatened by Iiname's presence, his aura did seem similar to other hollow she'd encountered.
Iiname seemed unconcerned by Sayuri's posturing and the eerily cold sensation that Shiro could feel didn't seem to bother him either. "I... think lunch hour is after the theater class..." Shiro warily noted to Iiname. Noticing the crackling noise, Shiro clenched her right hand closed, dispersing the reiatsu she'd subconsciously begun gathering for release. She needed to control herself. Theocelese had told her she'd never be safe but that didn't necessarily mean everyone she met with powers like hers would be instantly hostile. Even so she didn't feel like being caught off guard. She'd let that happen once before and nearly paid the price for it.
Shiro knew one thing for certain, if this girl were anything like a hollow, then that likely meant she was leagues beyond Shiro's current ability. Sayuri didn't even have any signs of bony mask that the hollow usually sported. "I... do have one question..." Nervous sweat formed on Shiro's brow as she formed the question into existence. "Are you... an A-Arrancar...?" Shiro opened and closed her right hand, disappointed that the school had forced her to keep her Kendo sword in her locker instead of allowing her to keep it on her person.

There was not a single inch of hostility or concern that reveal itself upon Sayuri and her demeanor—She could’ve been a damn statue. In contrast to Iiname’ reaction, Shiro seemed scared and quite harmless. Hm. Interesting. Ignoring the lizard for the moment, aiming to cast her gaze back to girl, she made a mental note of her reaction and how uncomfortable she was. Yes, Sayuri could’ve been quite familiar and similar compared to both a hollow and Arrancar, with a careful eye too. She had quite the sharp canine teeth located not at just the top row of her mouth, but the bottom too!
Awaiting for Shiro’s response with quite the patience—She must’ve been so uncomfortable. If Sayuri had the ability to feel shame or guilt, she may have and if she could be honest? She wouldn’t have mind it too much. She wasn’t going to dance around the topic, especially for the young girl’s safety. She could be considerate and equally kind without needing to display her emotions or be tugged by them. It also seemed the reiatsu belonging to Shiro didn’t match anything close to a Fullbringer or a Quincy, not even close to a hollowified creature.
Despite her getting ready to defend herself if need be, Sayuri made no ground to attack or press the girl any harder—She was a clueless human with a gift. The most reckless and dangerous thing to herself. Though. Her question did pose a knit to her rosy pink brows, almost if she was confused. “Hmm..?” She questioned in sound. In fact, when she nervously asked if Sayuri was an Arrancar, she lifted her right arm and sniffed at her forearm—A humorous gesture to lighten Shiro back up. “Do I smell like that to you?” it could’ve been took as her mocking the girl due to being devoid and cold in tone.
“Ah.” Dropping her arm to fold back under her bosom, she shook her head with a single word “No.” She answered Shiro. Turning on her heels, she turned her back to the girl and simply moved to walk away. Gesturing her right hand for her to follow along. “I am just a girl doing you a favor. Don’t tense up.” She tried to be a bit gentler with Shiro… Gentle was not a strong point. “If you are hungry, I have a few snacks in my locker, Iiname. Shiro. Do not worry about being late. If I am with you. I can excuse anything.” She said peeking over her shoulder, slowing down too. Was that girl following?
“There are different types of spiritually aware humans, most tend not to like hollows and if you are not within a group. You are a target just for existing. So. You have to worry about not just those outside of the same race as you, but those inside the same.” She explained a bit more on what she meant. People would kick at Shiro just because they could, she wanted to make that clear. Especially in a school like this. She may have not been Kuroyuri, but she did act like him and shared his morals. “I will not be your friend. But I will be a guard and protect you.” She attempted to reassure the two of them. She didn’t do friendship, but wasn’t being what she just said count as a friend? She was such a weird girl, wasn’t she?
The air and feel changed too. Transferring back into tranquility. She began to walk the hallway, moving to find her locker without a doubt. It was on the way to the class anyways. It could be said, despite her coldness and stoic expression. She seemed to be good in heart.
