The girl's response would garner her a compliment in the future. She had a decent idea of what to do, and it set Theocelese's mind just a sliver at ease. Perhaps she needed the right weapon in her hands when she fought for vengeance, and at that moment, a medium-length blade was not the proper tool. But he would teach her, or at least introduce Shiro to new fighting styles, for the time being. The girl being Japanese...of course she fancied the katana. Just as Theocelese, a Greek, favored the sword and shield and spear. What he would come to demonstrate without actually saying as such, were just some of the situations that arose when combating someone with a shorter weapon range. There are other lessons to be learned here, as well.
With the kick of his right foot blocked, he didn't stand to wait and be hit. The girl used force and momentum to her advantage--yet again, another bit of praise would be given in due time, but it was not enough. As Theocelese's forward leg came down, he stepped forward once to lessen the distance leaving less than an inch between them, and his left arm rose, the dull wooden edge of his Xiphos blocking the katana in the middle of the blade. He did not sit still, but used his own forward momentum to step past Shiro. Another punishment to be endured by her now was the flat of his blade smacking her just above the kidneys, and with enough force to send the girl stumbling more than a few steps. It'd hurt like hell, but it wasn't crippling by any means.
The Arrancar returned to a completely upright position, sword hung down at his side. He said nothing, but instead waited.

Shiro stumbled back from the force of Theocelese's second punishing blow, gritting her teeth against the pain. She hadn't gone down, hadn't lost her stance, wouldn't let herself lose it. The girl steadied herself. She'd fallen back about five paces against Theo's blow, she could still do this, still had a chance to land an attack, land anything.
Steadying her stance, Shiro breathed out, calming her increasing adrenaline. Adrenaline could be a useful human trait but it could also fail her if she didn't control and focus it. Shifting her blade out to her side, both hands on its hilt, a ready stance for a powerful strike. The girl took her first step, kicking up sand and dust with the force of her movement. Two steps, Three steps, She drew her sword back lowering it behind herself. Even a seasoned player might not have seen passed the possibility of an upper swing starting from her lowered angle. Four steps, Theo would block or dodge, she counted on it. Either movement would be fine. Fifth step, Shiro dipped low, her sword blade nearly level with the ground beneath her, the release of her left hand, subtle enough for the untrained eye to miss, as she used it to scoop up a portion of the sandy ground beneath her.
Sand flew, aimed to blind as Shiro tumbled into a controlled somersault to the left and behind her target, the square of Theocelese's back. As swiftly as she'd made the throw her hand was back in position upon the hilt, flowing with the swing as her feet found footing in the loose ground behind her tutor.
He hadn't moved to dodge the attack, or even bothered to block. The look in her eyes told him much, and that there was very much a determination to win, which in this case may have been to land a single blow. He would grant her that much, but Theocelese needed to know how she would execute this attack. Much to his chagrin, it was something that he would not be fond of, and from this, another lesson would be taught. "There are many warriors who have dedicated themselves to the Eternal War. Some, like myself, would never use such cheap parlor tricks to gain the upper hand until such a tactic is used against us. In a real duel, a fight to the death between myself and my sworn enemy, there are no back-side shots to be made. I will always come at you from the front, where you may see me. This is what my honour dictates until the enemy disregards their own honour." Theocelese said, slowly turning around.
"I will fight as you fight, and just as your environment to obtain a cheap shot on your opponent, I will use my own strength to see mine own strikes fall true." He hadn't expelled much of his Reiatsu, enough to severely slow down and hamper the girl yes, but she would not immediately fall to her knees from the force of it. His goals in teaching others changed often, constantly searching to find ways to poke and prod to make his students dig deep within their souls to overcome the difficulty of what he set before them. Shiro needed to do this now, to find the power within her own being to push back against the constricting force oppressing her future movements. Theocelese disappeared from his position using Sonido not just once, but twice. He doubted the girl could have picked up on his movements. The first sound of the static buzzing put him to the training gear, to where he scooped up another wooden sword, similar to the one he currently wielded. The second placed him behind the girl, where his assault began. He avoided lashing out at her kidneys once again, instead targeting her sides and upper arms. Like before, the power used in his swings would leave welts and bruising, but there was enough timing in his swings that would allow the girl to block or dodge. The first two swings, taken together, were once more taxation strikes and like the previous two, would have to be taken. The rest, however...
Attempting to leave the closeness of their range seemed like a moot point, as Theocelese would close the distance regardless. "Do not ever give into your enemy!" Theocelese bellowed in between swings, "FIGHT BACK YOU WHELP!"
"I did it...!?" Shiro's eyes blinked in shocked surprise and awe. She couldn't believe her attack had actually landed. It put her off as she'd expected some counter measure from Theocelese to end up thwarting her efforts. The moment filled her with a false sense of euphoria. A euphoria which quickly imploded upon itself when her eyes met Theo's.
"Ngh...!!?" Shiro felt the pressure from Theo's reiatsu increase, pressing down on her body. It felt like the gravity around her mysteriously doubled and she struggled to keep on her feet, taking a step back to steady herself against the unfamiliar onslaught. Theocelese vanished, his words still ringing in her ears, a warning. The girl tried to block, counter, something but to no avail. Two harsh strikes lashed out at her before she could regain her bearings. Refreshed pain rang through her, she managed to block the third strike, feeling the force of the blow through her arms when the two wooden blades collided. But the assault didn't end there. Theocelese began a relentless flow of strikes. Each time she blocked Shiro could feel the force, heavier and heavier, forcing her back.
Memories of the hotel came crashing back into her head. Relentless, enemies were relentless. The hollow had been relentless, intent on killing her. A wave of fear washed over the girl and she blocked another attack, took another step back. No. This isn't like that. Shiro thought, her focus beginning to waver under the pressure of her emotions. He isn't the enemy. She assured herself, another blow blocked, she could feel her hands going numb against each blow that threatened to strike her down. Shiro could see the maniacal features of something lurking, seeking to suck the life from her... Theo's strike knocked her sword from her hands, his relentlessness intent on continuing...
She didn't have a sword, didn't have the power to overwhelm her opponent, She couldn't block Theocelese's next attack like this...
"NO!!!" Shiro screamed. In that moment a surge of electrified Reiatsu burst forth from the girl like a tidal-wave of emotions running free. Sand and dust spiraled out and away from around her and sparks of seemingly charged reiatsu played across Shiro's body. Lost in her fear she forgot to block, instead subconsciously swinging upward with both hands, intercepting Theocelese's final blow. Seconds felt like minutes, time felt like it had no meaning.
Shiro's throat felt sore. Breath ragged as she struggled to breath under the weight of her emotions. She couldn't tell if she'd managed to block or not. Or even if Theocelese was preparing, at that very moment, to strike her again...
Thunk. The top half of Theocelese's wooden sword fell to the ground some feet away. Much to Shiro's surprise she held what appeared to be some sort of sword. If one could call it a sword. The long, sword-like apparatus she held appeared to be comprised purely of a strange white and blue energy, crackling as if empowered by an invisible electrical charge.
Description: Since a young age Shiro's family has practiced it's own unique version of sword-fighting, combining a variety of styles. Shiro's skill with this style was strictly enforced by her father's tutelage.
As long as Shiro wields a Kendo sword, two-handed Katana, or other similarly shaped two-handed weapon, tier I is added to the destructive force of her offensive physical attacks, skills, or abilities that she uses.
In this case it applies to the reiatsu weapon she formed.
The Arrancar stopped in his tracks, the secondary wooden blade already having closed half the distance to the girl. The shock of what was done, no pun intended, was genuine. Shiro definitely had ties to Zues, there was absolutely no doubting this now. From his striking pose, Theocelese straightened himself up, quickly bopping Shiro on the top of her head. "Well look at what you've gone and done now. Hope you know your way around the shop class at your school....you replace what you break." He said the biggest shit eating grin the girl had probably ever seen him give. It was moments like this that his mind wasn't a roaring inferno. They brought him back to a better place, one where he could snap and be lost to the bloody haze in his eyes. He didn't say it verbally, but in his own head he thanked the girl. The relief was...it'd been so long since what was a heated moment didn't go a step further that he couldn't even compare it to anything at the time. "You can relax now, girl. Release your grasp and set your mind at ease. This may help dispel your power." He offered a modicum of advice. There was no way he could push Shiro just yet. The lack of color in her face suggested anything as equally intense as that last round would be it for her, and he didn't feel inclined to carry an armored dessert stealer at the moment. No, she had to learn to press forward before being able to relax.
"I learned what I needed to from you, today. Well done Miss Inazuma." The secondary sword slid into his belt, and he ruffled the girl's hair. He'd almost yelped when the static still buzzing in her hair shocked him, and Theocelese supposed he should have expected that. Now, time for one final lesson of the day. "We can leave these things out here, no one will displace them." He said, glancing at the still-broken training sword. He shrugged, and then tossed it behind him. "Let's go." Theocelese began walking back to the glass doors of the diner, expecting Shiro to follow him. Training wasn't finished until the tabard came off, but he wasn't going to say anything just yet.
"From now on, before and after our sparring sessions we will discuss our thoughts on the previous and current day. I already know the answers, but I must ask you for yours. What do you think I was looking to teach you today, and the day of your vengeance?" The Arrancar began, pulling out a cigarette from his pocket and lighting it. He inhaled deeply, and exhaled just the same. "What do you think you learned? What mistakes do you think you made, if any, and lastly...what would you like for dinner? Anything you want, you deserve it." He looked back to Shiro, giving her a reassuring smile and a thumbs up.
"I do mean that. I know I can come off as...repugnant...but I'm starting to think you're going to make me proud."
What followed, surprised even Shiro. A rush of confusion wracked the girl's brain. She felt the bop on the head, the strangely approving look on Theo's face before he messed her hair and began walking away. She reached up, rubbing her head, sinking to her knees. "What..." She didn't understand anymore. Hadn't this exercise been practice to see her skills, to gauge her ability in combat? She stared at the energy in her main hand, watched as it fizzled and vanished along with the chaos of her mixed emotions. Everything was the same, this feeling, the energy she felt. She'd experienced it twice before when fighting Hollow. Had this perhaps been his purpose all along...?
Shiro wearily pushed herself up and followed, picking up the wooden sword she'd dropped before making her way towards Theo, leaving the broken sword he'd thrown discarded.
"I..." Shiro began but paused. Today and yesterday... Two very different fights, Though similar in that she'd allowed fear to control her... "...I still have a long way to go..." She murmured, though still loud enough for Theo to be able to hear her. "Yesterday... and today... I let my emotions, My... fear, take control..." Shiro clenched her hands into fists. All that training with her father hadn't prepared her enough for this, for the reality of what a truly dire situation felt like. Sure she had strong mental discipline when she focused but how easily she still faltered when it came down to a battle for her life.
"I... would love some blueberry pancakes with maple syrup." She nodded. Despite the pain her body now felt from the welts on her body, she'd developed an appetite that desired to be sated.
"..." Theo seemed oddly happy to Shiro, even applauding her efforts, yet she couldn't shake the feeling that in some way her actions during their session had betrayed him. "I'm sorry... About the sand..." Shiro averted her eyes, she was honestly sorry for it. He'd grown so dark and distant in the moments following that simple maneuver, she'd felt like she'd lost someone who was supposed to be a friend. "I'm... sorry..." Shiro repeated the two words, couldn't stop repeating them as her tears began flowing.
As Shiro stopped, so did he, albeit a few paces ahead. He listened to the repeated apology that grew weaker each time it was spoken. His fingers curled inward, hands becoming tight fists briefly. And there it was, coming back already. The arrancar shuddered, his mind focusing on wanting to comfort the girl for her supposed transgressions. He turned around and walked up to Shiro, form lowering as he knelt down. His left rose, the twitching fingers correcting themselves as the hand landed on the shoulder. “Do not apologize, Shiro. Everything I do is a lesson. Everything I say has meaning. For you to grow, you must seek out the truth behind my words and actions. Trust in me to not lead you astray, trust—“ the man suddenly cut himself short, the feeling of uneasiness at what he was about to say present. He wiped the tears from her face, then stood back up.
“Do you know why I told you to taste your anger and to bathe in the rage that followed?” The question rhetorical, he continued. “Because I wanted you to feel the most justifying of emotions. In that state, no matter what you do to an enemy is forgiven. It is also the darkest and most draining emotion at your disposal...but if used correctly, there is no other powerful weapon. Be wary of your own fury, girl, look to me as your best example. I let mine consume me, and every day can be an uphill battle. Temper your wrath, and the rest comes easily.” Theocelese was not sure how she’d tajen to him being so honest. The man was a bit surprised himself he let that out, but Caesar was right. She needed to know how to not become like them.
“Today I wanted to see your skill with a weapon. Your father taught you well, but I think perhaps you have yet to truly find your own place with that style. No warrior ever excelled at simply copying others.” Finally, theocelese removed his hand. “Ultimately what I was looking to do was to force you to unleash your power, or at least some of it. When I told you I was proud, I meant it.” He nodded back to the fortress and continued walking to it.

"It felt... strange..." Shiro started softly, following in Theo's footsteps while wiping the rest of the tears from her eyes, willing herself to bring her emotions back in order. "Whatever this is... it isn't the first time... Even yesterday wasn't the first..." Shiro stared at her free hand, opening and closing it as she let the feeling of her previous release set into memory. "It almost feels like... letting go." Staring at her hand, Shiro, for a moment, thought she could almost see a spark of electricity play across it. The idea of the trigger being as simple as losing control by freeing her mind from focus didn't seem right to Shiro. Everything needed control, even things that didn't seem to have any. But it should be a trigger she could control.
Fear, Uncertainty, Desperation, Anger, even rage. These emotions seemed to tie into each incurrence. If the energy brought forth by her power could cut something like wood without her even noticing it was indeed something to be scared of. But all the more reason for her to have a handle on it, to control it without letting it run amok. Perhaps it was less the emotions and more about focusing on the feeling of releasing it. Shiro stared at her hand, remembering how it felt, the strange feeling of release when she'd lost control of her emotions. If she could hold onto that feeling then perhaps she could also keep it active, to make better use of it than simply being a one-off. Was this what Theocelese really wanted beyond gauging her combat abilities? To be able to control this strange power she possessed?
Shiro's pace slowed slightly when she began focusing. Not on her free hand held in front of her or the strange energy sword she'd held, but grasping onto the feeling. Knowing her own power and allowing it to manifest.
"Ah...!" Shiro finally understood. The moment of release was no surprise this time. She could feel it welling up inside her, seeking escape and she guided it. Focused on it. held onto it, allowing it to exist. Sparks of electricity jolted across the visible areas of her body that she could see. Her reiatsu enveloped the wooden sword she held, the white and blue energy making it nearly indistinguishable from the one she could still feel in the grip of her hand.
Shiro paused, looking at the results. Theo would probably pause if he noticed her release. It was different this time. The pointlessly chaotic emotions she'd lost control over before were not there. "This... This is... My power?" The girl asked, looking to Theocelese. It wasn't something Theo had gifted to her. No she'd managed to manifest this power once, before ever meeting Theocelese. Shiro clenched her fist, holding onto it. Shiro's energy remained steady, sustaining itself. For the first time since becoming spiritually aware, the girl held proper control over her newfound powers.
Theocelese's own pace slowed, turning to watch as Shiro channeled the electrical power into the sword. He watched with great amusement, so much so a hand went to his bearded chin to scratch for a few seconds. "It is, and could be one of many, Child of Zeus. We need but push your soul to its limits to find out what else is locked inside that head of yours." He looked back to Las Noches, deep in thought, but discarded the notions in his head. The Arrancar was just glad that the overly curious child hadn't felt inclined to ask him about the mysteries of his own powers. "If you've manifested it before, you have shown twice now you can do it. I cannot give you powers, but I am capable of teaching you things I know." He motioned outwards with his arm. A red orb the size of a baseball formed, before firing off into a gigantic red beam of energy skyward. The landscape became painted red briefly, until the beam sizzled out.
"I can teach you how to do something similar, if you'd like." He didn't mean at the current moment, of course. "We will, however, be going over Stepping. What I, and other Arrancar use is called Sonido. Shinigami do something identical, but it is called Shunpo. Humans like yourself, and myself included once upon a time, could do the same thing but with their own unique variations to them. Mine..." He recalled, and smiled, reaching a hand out to ruffle the girl's hair again. "Mine would make me disappear in a dark cloud, and upon landing at my destination, shook the earth with thunder."
Shiro looked up in awe at the size and scale of the energy Theocelese shot towards the sky. Her eyes fell back to Theo, his hand on her head, prompting sparks of electricity to play around his hand. "It just seems so surreal. To think something like this is possible in the world beyond erm... normal people's sights." Shiro thought for a moment. "So... does this mean the electricity thing is... not something normal people would be able to see?" Shiro asked, holding up her sword, the energies playing across it endlessly. If that were the case then didn't that mean she could use her powers in the human world without being noticed by regular people?
"Stepping... Ah! Is it that thing you did where you disappeared?" If it wasn't teleportation then didn't that mean it was some sort of fast movement? She could do something like that too? The girl had never heard of people being able to move faster than an athlete's running speed. She wondered if she could obtain that sort of movement so easily, did it really only require spiritual awareness? Was it like shifting her spirit and body from one spot to another? Training was one thing but now Shiro could see more of the potential for her in having Theo as her trainer. He said she could do it too, could learn to use stepping like him and the Shinigami.
The girl was getting pumped at the thought of things to come, all the while she was thinking that if there were a way to do this stepping thing, then there must also be a way to slow or stop it from happening if an opponent were using it.
"I wanna try something..." Shiro stated. Stopping force... Shiro focused her newfound energy, thought about the stepping and how it could be similar to a bird. But a bird in a cage couldn't simply fly away. She focused her thoughts on building that cage, one that could stop the bird from flying away. If her power could be shaped then maybe...
Shiro built up her energy, similar to how she'd released her power in the first place, but her power was already manifest so all she needed to do was channel it. If acting on one's imagination made things possible then maybe she could do the same with the power she possessed. The energy in her sword intensified and she lifted it over her head. She'd name this one... "White Dragon's Cage!" A spherical burst of energy rushed out in every direction from her raised sword, forming a large sphere roughly one hundred meters in diameter around herself engulfing the surrounding area and Theocelese.
Once the barrier was set, Shiro looked to Theocelese again, a triumphant smile on her face "I think I get how my power works now."
Range: 50 meter radius around the caster (at initial placement)
Duration: 6
Description: By outwardly focusing an enormous amount of Reiatsu, Shiro is able to create a spherical (or dome-shaped) electrical barrier around herself. While inside the dome, neither Shiro, nor any allies or enemies can use stepping. Enemies caught within the dome cannot escape and enemies trapped outside the dome cannot enter the affected area.
"You are correct on all accounts." Theocelese said, reaching out to put his hand to the field. His palm sizzled and cracked, the electricity not even so much as charred his skin. It...tickled, somewhat. "You must be extremely cautious when you are in attendance at school. Just because your fellow humans cannot see your power does not mean you cannot do harm unto them." He said this as he turned around. The look in his eyes changed. Once where there was a serene kindness in the golden lenses, there now burned a fire streaked with madness. His body shifted to a brawler's stance, right arm held out as if he were cocking back for a punch. "I'm impressed you're able to do this....but here is one last lesson for the day, girl. Be wary when you cage yourself in with the lions and wolves. You may clip their claws, but know they can still bite. This is going to hurt you. A lot."
At the last two words, Theocelese exploded from his position. It wasn't a Sonido, but rather something else meant for quick escapes or surprise attacks. He flew as fast as a Bala, arm still held out. Much like a cavalry soldier's sword, the appendage wouldn't be swung. Rather, momentum and force would do its job, and the current opening he was going for was right for Shiro's gut. It wouldn't be a debilitating attack, or even a fatal one at that. As the Arrancar said...the pain would be difficult to deal with. There was also the chance the potential blow would knock the air out of her lungs and knock her over, but given a somewhat advanced warning....maybe Shiro wouldn't be taking the full hit. If that were the case, he'd actually make her pancakes bigger than a medallion.

"I understand." She'd figured as much. Her abilities still seemed to take on some sort of physical form so it made sense to her that they'd still be able to affect spiritually unaware people. She would be careful whenever she went back to the human world.
Shiro beamed at Theo's praise for her new technique, noting at the same time that he appeared to be preparing for an attack. Was he testing out her barrier? No, his words indicated something else. Tensing, Shiro drew upon her focus once more. Theocelese never had said they were done training. Everything is for my sake. Shiro thought, carefully watching Theo's movements as he prepared whatever it was he was doing.
Shiro understood the purpose of her ability, after all she'd designed it with the idea of a cage in mind. Obviously if a cat were trapped in a birdcage along with the bird it might not be able to escape the cage but it would still be able to eat the bird.
The girl couldn't tell if it was her released state, or perhaps it was Theo biding his time before attacking, or her subconscious ability to read movement, but for an instant everything seemed to move in slow motion. Focus fused with reaction, something deep inside the girl told her not to try taking the brunt of whatever it was Theocelese came at her with.
His movement, her movement. Not comparable by any means. The distance Theo covered in the time it took Shiro to move only a few inches was astounding. But it was enough. The blow struck, not straight or true, but glancing just enough to avoid the worst of it. Shiro felt the pain wrench through her gut even as the main force of the attack passed her by. Had she been hit dead on by Theo's strike, the day's training would surely have ended there.
Shiro felt dazed, pain rocking through her. She'd never been hit by a truck before but if she had, she imagined it would feel like this.
Upon reaching the maximum range of Dash, and after having hit Shiro with a glancing strike, the Arrancar's form shot back to the direction he landed at. He could have sent out a secondary strike on the return back to his original starting position, but instead would leave the girl to take in the lesson now at hand. Had she just returned back to Las Noches for get ready for dinner, this could have all been avoided. To his surprise, Shiro still stood. No matter. He aimed one finger at the girl, a frown etched onto his bearded face. "I hope you can still fight after that show you put on. The fact you haven't dropped tells me there's still something left there in there. You put me in this cage...and now you better get to moving." The words came out as a growl, and not a second after the last word left his lips several Bala were shot at Shiro.
These would hurt just as much as the glancing blow, and all three were shot in a semi-scattered manner. The first traveled directly at the girl, the second was aimed a foot or so off to the right, and one to the left. He knew she couldn't use Reishi to ascend skywards to dodge, and so he targeted the only viable areas she could move, left or right. Now he was curious to see what Shiro would do in this particular circumstance.
Dazed but not quite out of it yet. Shiro readied herself for Theo's next move, the increasing amount of punishment building up on the areas of her body Theo'd struck were beginning to distort her senses with pain. He growled at her, the attack a three pronged one, aimed at keeping her from dodging. The girl had but an instant to prepare herself, judging by the distance. She didn't have the movement capacity garnering her current weighted armor to dodge these balls of vicious energy aimed straight at her. One, the others were angled off to each side, enough to where if she didn't actually move then the only ball of energy she'd need to contend with would be the one aimed dead center.
She had a fraction of a moment to form her position. Both hands painfully gripping the sword currently bathed in her energy. Thought left her. Everything boiled down to reaction. Sword raised, already in a perfect position to block. Channeling more energy into the sword she held, electrical energies surged through it.
Time stopped. It seemed to be doing a lot of that to her these last few minutes. Real battle, real moments. Such that could take one's breath away. The bala struck her sword, clashing with her own channeled ability. The two other bala whizzed past at extreme speed, striking the sand some distance behind her and erupting in two simultaneous explosions.
Shiro could feel her feet move of their own accord with the force of the third bala, her arms screaming at the force with which it struck until it too exploded against her reiatsu infused weapon. Dust and debris obscured her vision, Theo seemingly disappearing within the formed cloud.
The next moment saw Shiro drop to her knees, sword still gripped in her right hand, pressing into the sand as the dust began to clear. The girl was exhausted, in lots of pain, but still very much conscious. Grimacing at the pain she felt throbbing all over her body She looked up from her position on the ground, found her eyes meeting with Theo's. A small but confident smile broke across the girl's face. She'd managed to do something she hadn't thought possible.
She'd dispersed one of Theocelese's direct abilities with one of her own and she felt damned proud of it too.
"Well done, girl. I thought you pushed yourself to your limit earlier, but it seems that was not the case." He looked to the cage still crackling around them for a few long moments, but said nothing at all. He inhaled sharply, both arms crossing over his own armoured chest just as the intake of air left his chest now. "All attacks are lessons on their own. You knew you could not move to either side, and so you did the only plausible thing at the moment: You defended yourself on only what was the only clear threat. Remember this, as there are many who would play foul tricks upon you with attacks like those, as well as in melee combat." The only reason he hadn't fired the two Bala at full power which went sailing away harmlessly at the sides was the 'what if' scenario had Shiro decided to try her hand at being graceful. Gods knew he'd suffered at his own attempts to do such a thing on many occasions. He approached Shiro, going down to one knee in front of her. "This is something I wish for you to take to heart, Shiro. A saying an old friend of mine used to tell me...
Pain is an illusion of the senses. Fear, an illusion of the mind. Beyond these only death waits as silence judge o'er all." He'd rise after the words were spoken, and Theocelese's face shifted to something more neutral, but his lips still curved upwards in a smile. With a hand extended downwards meant to aid in the girl standing up, he spoke once more. "We are done for today. Tomorrow we continue, and the day after that, you will rest."

Hearing his words about being done for the day, Shiro breathed a pained sigh of relief. The barrier which held them both, dispersed and vanished when the girl took hold of Theocelese's helping hand. With her body now awash with relief, the weight of her fatigue finally came crashing down atop her battered body. Shiro's legs gave out as she attempted to stand, forcing her to fall into Theocelese. Though her one arm was held by him, she managed to grab onto his garment with her other hand in an attempt to keep herself stable and on her feet.
"There is nothing to feel in fear or pain, only death can be the judge..." Shiro's fatigue reiterated Theo's words aloud and in her head. Adrenaline escaped from her body, from her senses, leaving Shiro to contend with the full might of the pain her body was afflicted with. The girl winced, her hands gripping Theo and his clothes even harder than before. "This... was fun... I look forward to training with you tomorrow too..." Shiro spoke, it was weak now but her voice still rang with conviction and a determination to see Theocelese's training to its end. She knew that tomorrow would prove to be quite challenging, the hits she'd taken would be a constant reminder of the previous day's activities. And then, almost like a light-switch turned on, Shiro remembered. "Can we have those... chocolate chip pancakes now...?" the girl asked before resting her head on Theo, falling into a peaceful sleep.
"Easy, girl." Theocelese said, helping to stabilize Shiro from falling to the ground. Beyond the naivety and cluelessness lay a noble tactician and proud warrior. It couldn't be helped, though. That part of her would come with age, the girl being just a child and all. With no effort, Theocelese picked up the now sleeping student of his and carried her back to her room. The most he did to make her sleep somewhat decent was the removal of her bracers, greaves, gloves and boots. The chainmail and tabard, however, she'd have to take off after waking up. To remove those things wouldn't have been untoward, as there was plenty underneath the outer-layer of fabric and chain linked protection. Another lesson in its own way, don't push yourself so hard you wind up uncomfortably sleeping in a lot of heavy armor. He did, however, tuck Shiro into her bed. On the television, he put on the background noise of a thunderstorm.
The next morning, Shiro would wake up to a similar layout of breakfast that Theocelese had cooked for her before. Only this time, it was a good helping of buttered toast, ham steaks, bacon, scrambled eggs with cheddar and not just chocolate chip pancakes, but blueberry as well. She asked for both...but didn't get the dinner-plate sized ones she may have expected. These ones were roughly the size of a small saucer...but there were four each, at least. As per usual, there were a selection of drinks to be had. Water, milk, and pulp-free orange juice, as well as herbal tea and a few pills. Aaannd, just the same as the first breakfast, a little note card was left on the side table.
'Hope you slept well despite still wearing your gear. Eat up, you're going to need to build up your strength for today. Drink your water first, please, and take the medication. I'll be downstairs.
PS--You drooled all over my tabard. Thanks for that.
Hueco Mundo wasn't with out it's version of wild life...so it wouldn't be such a big thing for animals to slip into Los Noches here and there like normal animals would. The water draining from pipes into a desert had drawn it in with the wet scent of somebody who'd just washed their hands. A smooth and supple form slithered itself into the sludge of sand and water, right into the pipe. It wasn't a hard thing to do, tasting the air with a red forked tongue, tracking it's prey by taste and smell. Left...then right, then a short crawl down, another right and a very long crawl up. All in darkness and all in silence. Soon the black snake had found that the pipe it had been crawling around in led to a sink.
A very full sink of dirty dishes from a hard well cooked breakfast. The black form watched as the large man moved out of the kitchen to take plates of food else where, and take that moment to glide out of the sink and onto the floor. Gliding across there with smooth effort he'd wait by the door as the arrancar passed once again to tend to his dishes. Achille's wouldn't be the target. No not yet. The black snake with blazing blue eyes round the corner of the door and made his way up stairs, shifting forms into a frog as he did so. The new form came in handy for a quick trip up. Once the last stair had been climbed his form would again shift....only this time into a cat's.
No sounds were to be heard as the black cat padded its way down the hall to the sleeping girl's room. A snake once again found him squeezing under the crack of the door, past the table of goods and peered up at the bed the girl had been placed in. With a cat's grace, he'd leap up onto Shiro's bed and sit watching on her chest for a moment before making his final shift.
Smooth and sleek hair became wiry and rough, as back legs grew longer than the front and sinewy wings sprouted out of his back. A wolf's mawl replaced the cat's face, and blue fire flickered around his head. "Waaaake...." the creature growled a whisper as rear legs would pin the girl's arms to her sides. "Waaaake Shiiiiro....Apollo holds a gift for you...."
Shiro would find her a sudden and increasing weight placed on her chest and arms as the very bad dog breath hit her sleeping nose. A malicious spirit from the desolated parts of the Flemish countryside, Kludde had come for Achille's young student at Apollo's bidding.
"A gift of teeth." A winged black dog with a blue flame flickering around its macabre visage would be the first thing Shiro would see when she opened her eyes. "And never ending pain..." And if Kludde had his way...it would be the last thing she saw as well.

The first thing Shiro did when she woke up to the sight of this grotesque bestial creature setting it's weight upon her and breathing disgusting odors into her face? Scream of course. She was in bed, a pleasant dream still repeating itself in her head prior to this creature's descent upon her, forcing her into a reality that seemed all too dreamlike in its own right.
A fraction of a moment later, Shiro's mind panicked but her years of prior training allowed her to focus. The girl struggled, testing what parts of her body still remained free from the beast. her hands. The beast had failed to apply weight to her wrists, a mistake she would make sure the creature payed for. Rotating her right hand, Shiro positioned it such that if she were holding a sword it would have been between her and the beast's face.
She released. Blue-white electrical energy exploded from the girl, such that it might startle or frighten the beast depending on its level of intelligence. Her energy settled into its released state, electrical sparks playing across every inch of her body. Had the creature remained atop the girl, it would now find a sword of pure electrical energy pulsating, obscuring it's view of Shiro's face.
She wouldn't give the beast any time to react if it hadn't already done so by now, focusing her energy through the blade between them, Shiro launched a bolt of electricity straight into the monster's face.
She'd scream. They always screamed. It was part of what made killing appealing to Kludde. He'd get just barely a chuckle out when the girl began to glow. Instincts more than thought would save him because the moment Shiro's form began to move with power through it he was off of her but not as the gaping wolf jaw he'd been before. No... this time she'd see a bat flitting away from her right as the bolt of electricity shot past where his face had been.
The next moment would find that winged form diving down, and disappearing past the foot of her bed. Kludde growled in annoyance, letting the girl know he'd probably changed right back into that wolf mawed form. Apollo hadn't mention this creature had powers. She was supposed to be a human pet. A low blue light pulsated from the foot of Shiro's bed for a moment and he'd be slithering on his belly once again.
The serpentine shape moved quickly under the bed, making his way rapidly to the middle of the bed. This would have been much easier if he'd not waited for her to waken.... Kludde's new form waited curled and ready for her to step a foot down. Yes it was a lesson taken from that rat bastard boggie but...it was why children were afraid of what lay underneath the bed.
