Nessa had decided that she'd see if she could go back and get Gage to give her her... Product. She was sick of being a cyclops, and really wanted her depth perception back. Could she fix his arm? Goodness knew. And she certainly didn't have a zanpakuto to give to him, arrancar or none. Perhaps there would be some way that the two of them could work out some kind of deal so that Nessa could see again and Gage could do what he wanted. Maybe she could overpower him... Or at the very least threaten to break his stuff. Human!Nessa inside her squirmed at that thought and with some difficulty she quelled it. There was absolutely no time for that kind of weakness, or debilitating emotion. It was kill or be killed out here at the moment, quincy in one direction, shinigami in another. All Nessa wanted was to be safe but at the moment, she was having to create her own safety.
She entered the workshop the same as she had done before, dressed in her blue robes over a white dress, hands clad in vicious gauntlets, eyepatch sat over her empty eye socket. She looked around. Man this guy was serious business. She wondered who else might be his customers. Probably best not to know. Pacing around a little, she called out to him. He knew she was there, it was impossible not to with Nessa's erratic reiatsu signature.
"Hey, Gage? Where are you? It's meee, Vanessa." she called out in a sing-song voice.
Gage woke, his hand half draped in the engine compartment of his latest project, a 1976 Chevelle Super Sport. The same model that his father drove when he was 18. It was a time consuming project but he had just recently found himself with a great deal of it. Sitting up under the frame his head pokes out of the engine bay, the missing motor making just enough room for him to fit his torso. "Nessa?" What that's a sight for sore eyes. She was an odd ball, a one eyed, friendly, strong, decently attractive oddball. "Your back, what can I do for you?" Of course she was here for the eye he had finished days ago but a happenchance made it to where he had lost her phone number. Play it cool though. Maybe he can play it off as a casual forgetfulness.
Had had spent the better part of three hours scouring his papers, digging through his note and his cellphone searching for where he could have possibly misplaced it. That was when he got his notice, instructions of what he was to do next. If anything it added to why he stopped looking for Venessa. The Soul Society had asked him, in all their narrow sighted vision, to bring her in. It wasn't labeled as an arrest but it was voluntary or willingly. "Sorry I didn't call you."

"Ah!" she said, surprised as he emerged from under the car. Yup, there he was. He seemed to be a little taken aback, and for whatever reason, he seemed to have forgotten about their arrangement. Or perhaps he was trying to play things off as being all cool after the last time they'd met. He apologised for not calling and Nessa merely smiled looking down at him a little smugly.
"Oh what must a girl do to get a decent man who'll at least call, these days." she said sardonically, before planting her firm butt down on one of the stools in the workshop. She idly played with some of the toys, fidgeting. She had a casual glance around, and couldn't see it anywhere. Probably Gage was keeping it safe for her, somewhere. Something about his demeanour seemed different, like he was nervous about something.
"So, how you been? Get any more bits of yourself blown off by arrancar recently? I learned some healing kido. We can see if we can fix your arm." she said. She'd not heard much more about the arrancar that had attacked Gage but she had a worried feeling that she had joined forces with the Wandenreich.
Gage smiled at the reaction, she seemed to be happy to see him so there was little chance he was going to be able to hold it back. Her little smirk, a grin that made him laugh lightly convinced him to break eye contact. "Well you probably shouldn't be looking in mechanic shops for them." Gage slides out on his back, standing up and unrolling his right sleeve so that he can climb out of his coveralls.
Vanessa, looking around for something to focus on seemed a bit distracted, her wandering eyes likely searching for the eye. A light quip about him losing his arm to the Arrancar," Ha ha ha. No, I still have everything so far. Metal still stops here," Gage taps the middle of his pectoral muscle, the sound of his finger tapping against a piece of plate metal audible even from over where she was sitting.
"What have you been up too? I have heard that everyone is ramping up for some more fights, Soul Society redoubling their efforts to be ready for a second attack. I assume Hueco Mundo is too so I have been keeping myself busy, trying to make what ever productiveness I can happen." Wiping his hands the shine on his left hand shows that it is still the artificial limb that he had put together. It was sturdy enough to keep up with his left but not quite up to specs for him to try pressing his luck should the need ever arise, the limb likely buckling before his right hand does.

He humoured her banter, emerging fully now and removing the greasy mechanics' clothes. She could hardly understand how a person could have as much power as Gage and yet live in this way amongst these humans. Did he not get bored? Did the fact that, if he wanted to, he could probably level the entire city, probably emerge as a god amongst these people not make fixing up cars a little droll? Nessa figured she could never understand that, not in a million lifetimes. There was a voice at the back of her mind, however, that she could, and had understood. human!Ness wouldn't have wanted the power Vanessa had right now- hell, even she didn't really want it. The feeling of being a shittier person than one's own self was taxing, and she tried to avoid it.
She whistled at the sound of his rattling. That arrancar had really done a number on him. A big chunk of him was machine now. That was a big restoration job, probably out of her depth. Maybe a hand... A forearm. If you had the attached part. She figured Mayuri probably grew spares in his lab. Not that she had access to that or any of the other trappings of the twelfth squad as she'd had previously.
"Oh you've heard, have you? And you are? I wonder if part of that preparation has involved producing my product." his skittishness seemed to acquire some context now. Was he afraid that Nessa was here recruiting with the Shinigami? Surely she must have made it pretty clear last time that she was well-ostracised. How had he heard. From whom? "And which little birdie told you that, then?" she asked him, a biting tang of aggressive curiosity in her voice.
Gage rolled his good shoulder. He didn't really care for this but the non aggressive manner in which soul society made its request tended to make him a bit more willing to comply with their latest demand. "Well, it was actually Soul Society." Gage walked over to the nearest bench, opening a small toolbox and pulling out his Substitute Soul Reaper badge, tossing it over to her. "It turns out that the attack on them has opened their eyes to many of the irrational and unnecessary fears that they have developed over the years. A week or so they requested that I get you to come in. It seems that they are reopening their arms to the thought of using all available assets to fight this war with the Quincy."
Walking over to the car he grabs some of his stray tools on the ground, trying to keep busy while he lets her think over the new information. "I should also let you know that they are even holding a meeting about possibly letting an arrancar and a Vizard join their ranks. I can't remember her name. Emily... Emilia... No, I think its Emily. The arrancar is Theocelese though. I don't know if you remember him but I do..." Gage thought over some of the encounters he has had in the past with the gladiator. The most dramatic of which was shortly after Gage had moved into the city, just getting his footing with some of the other spiritual members in town.

So... Gage was with the soul reapers now. And in fact, he was a soul reaper. She caught the badge with some difficulty; no depth perception, and examined it. Yeah that'd do it. She turned it over in her gauntletted fingers as she examined it, frowning slightly as Gage spoke. So it was true, they were inviting people back. Vanessa wanted to return to Soul Society more than anything. She wanted to return as a friend, to re-join the Kido Corps, or the 13 Court Guard Squads, and the prospect gripped at her heart. Her insides welled up with joy at the thought that she could go home, finally. She tried not to let it show on her face. human!Ness inside her was performing somersaults of happiness and yet... What if it were a trap? Of course, hollowfication hadn't exactly been Vanessa's fault, it was her Soshi that had been the one to blame in reality. What if Blodeuwen was throwing her under the bus? She didn't think the Soshi would do that but... Who knew. Anything was possible. But it was when Gage continued that it was sold to her.
Emilia had been invited back? The old second squad defector who had, as it turns out, been behind the Olympus movement that had completely been destroyed. Nessa found it somewhat peculiar that of the three visored she knew on a personal face-to-face level, all of them were former second squad members. Sui Feng must have been a shitty captain, she mused to herself, a small smile spreading out on her face. Not that she was a captain any more. She was Commander Feng of the Onmitsukido now.
"They're the ones who destroyed that power plant and wrecked central downtown a few months ago." Nessa mused. Arashi was with them... Did that mean he'd returned to Soul Society too? Had Emilia found out that he was a worm? She would probably be pretty pissed off. Not that Nessa knew anything else about her, just that she'd also be pissed off if she found out someone had been double-crossing her. He was some kind of triple agent or whatever now.
"And what if I say no?" she asked, with a kind of glowering smile upon her face. Unintentionally, her already chaotic reiatsu would kick up a notch as she said this, the dark ooze surrounding her giving her an even more menacing visage.
"Yeah," Gage puts both his palms on the work bench, leaning on it as flashes of the attack went through his mind. Vanessa didn't know but he was there. He was literally in the midst of it, an ant on the tree, scurrying about trying to help others that couldn't help themselves. "I know that they are." Clearing his throat he stands up, brushing himself off and setting aside the thoughts for now. This was not the time nor the place for that kind of sentimentality. Vanessa was wanted back in Soul Society and Gage was to escort her back in.
"You don't have to be like that. Come on. Its not like your the biggest target in Soul Society right now anyways. They have bigger threats that encompass everyone and everything," Walking over to a cabinet he riffles about searching for a clean shirt. "Did you manage to get that Zanpakto for me?" Pulling out a blue tee with a single diagonal white stripe on the front. Quickly swapping his top he steps out of the coveralls and kicks them aside, now standing in the jeans he was wearing underneath them and his clean shirt, chromed metal arm shined to a sheen. At least he was taking care of it, not the same as he was doing for the wrest of his body, needing a clean shave and a brush.

She sighed. Of course, she would come in without a fight. Fighting arrest was just going to get her labelled an actual traitor as well as just some unfortunate clod who gained hollow powers. Gage went to get some clothes and Nessa realized that she was going to be wearing shihakusho again soon. In the maggot's nest, or as a free soldier. But Gage seemed pretty convinced that she would be fine. She was a little taken aback when he effectively told her they had bigger fish to fry. Did he really know that? Had he ever seen her power? She supposed not. human!Ness inside her, however, laughed at the concept of Nessa getting arrogant about her strength, and the 'have you seen my power?' cliché tumbled through her head. She wanted to get angry at herself, for mocking herself, but she soon realized that that was not only incredibly stupid, but that human!Ness was totally correct.
"Zanpa-" of course. Their initial arrangement had been for her to fetch him an arrancar's zanpakutou. She had considered pinching the arrancar Gwen's, if she could, just to fuck with him but Nessa was about as stealthy as a moose, so that was out of the question. She had a vague memory of 'bargaining' it down to merely a healed arm but hell, he was so banged up now that that was probably also out of the picture. If he was with the Gotei 13, and they hadn't fixed it, Nessa probably had no hope. She sighed, and dropped her own gauntlets to the floor with a heavy 'KLANG'. "Well, you can have this one for now I guess, since you are arresting me." she joked, with a smile. "Do you want to open the senkaimon, or shall I?" she asked him, sweetly.
"Nah, I don't really need it anymore anyways. I have my own. I just wanted it for some tests but seems a little bit of a waste. Besides, your going to need yours with whats coming," Reaching into his pocket he pulls out a small metallic box, twisting the lid and pulling it open. Inside lay a perfectly formed artificial eye, made to fit Vanessa without error. Gage had spent days designing it to a 'T', even an entire afternoon to making the coloring perfect, almost indistinguishable from a real eye. "I do think that if we are going back you should have this. No need for both of us to go back looking like cripples."
Offering her the eye he takes his badge and walks over to a chair, grabbing a bottle of water and downing it. He wasn't entirely sure how long he was going to be gone and his own soul pill was...bland to say the least. Twice now he had come back and been dehydrated so drinking water now was the best idea he had to making sure that he was not going to come back and down a gallon out of the fridge. "You go ahead. It will let them know that you are coming if you open it." There was a busy day ahead of them.
