Nessa had been searching for a while. Hidane had told her, plain and simple, that Shiori was alive, and that she too had become a visored. Beyond that Nessa hadn't seen or heard from her, not one iota. Hidane had disappeared too, and so it wasn't exactly all that easy to track her down. Nessa had to be careful about flaring her reiatsu up here there and everywhere too; she couldn't suppress it now that it was so large and if she wasn't careful she would draw shinigami to her like moths to a flame. She'd only just managed to escape from Raiden, who had nearly managed to arrest her.
She'd heard whispers along the grapevine, however, that following the huge attack from the Wandenreich, that Soul Society was in crisis. She'd already had to avoid several members of the onmitsukido, who had apparently been relocated to the Human World to learn what Nessa herself had learned from that cute mechanic, Gage. It seemed that three shinigami captains had been totally incapacitated. Which, after the earlier defection of a captain-level shinigami to the side of some vizard with a vengeance, meant that in terms of generals and top-level fighters, the Gotei 13 were feeling the pinch. There were even murmurs of a recruitment drive; in fact some shinigami who had been hollowfied against their will had been allowed to return to Soul Society as generals.
Nessa was keen on taking them up on their offer. And she wondered that maybe Shiori would be too, as the last Nessa had seen of her figured her hollowfication had come from Llew. Maybe she knew the fate of that little twerp Aoi, too. So Nessa had searched for Shiori, trying to find out where she stood, and whether the two of them could return together. And now she was almost certain she had found her. There was another powerful vizard floating around K-town and Nessa had been keen on avoiding him but now seemed like as safe a time as any to try and approach Shiori. She'd followed what her reiatsu sense had told her, which wasn't the best, but with significant concentration, and a following of the reiraku- the spirit threads, Nessa had been able to track her down.
Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.
The end is the only thing certain
She'd been dwelling in the world of the living for sometime now, but being as she was getting stronger it wasn't so easy to stay hidden anymore. Recently she'd been running into or attracting unwanted attention, though that might not be so bad these days. Her most recent encounter lead her to knowledge that the Gotei 13 was looking for members, she'd heard it from more than one source. Still the original shinigami that spoke of it made mention of a trial, she didn't really feel like being judged for something that was out of her control.
Her train of thought was suddenly interrupted when she sensed someone else's reiatsu flaring randomly here and there throughout the area. Her head turned as her gaze raised to the skies. It felt familiar, yet different. It was for sure a vizard, there was no mistaking the texture, but Shiori felt like she knew who it was. She stood to her feet and allowed her senses to stretch further as she attempted to figure out who it was. She could feel the source of the reiatsu getting closer and closer, thus she started to move closer towards it. Soon enough she saw a familiar face looking around as if searching for something, or someone.

There she was. Nessa inhaled sharply. Well at least her old squadmate hadn't been actively hostile, which was more than she could say for some of them, Moeru was the reason that she'd gotten into this mess to begin with. She thought with a pang of regret back to human!Ness, and her little lemon-covered sundress that had been ruined when her special gigai was destroyed. But that was the past now. She was able to detect Shiori was close, and not hostile. Or at the very least, not yet. Nessa had a lot of difficulty suppressing her own reiatsu, but she did so to the best of her ability so as to avoid overwhelming her friend. Unless Shiori was very adept at hiding her own reiatsu, she didn't seem to have quite the same clout as Nessa did, which was unsurprising, given the enormous power boost she had received upon becoming a Visored.
"You're... alive." she breathed, after a brief pause. "I had heard, from Hidane. But I didn't quite believe it myself. How... How did it happen? How did you get hollowfied?" That was a leading question. There was always the chance that Shiori had become a hollow voluntarily. Nessa at this juncture wouldn't put anything past anyone, Shiori hadn't been anywhere near as prideful as Vanessa had been, but she was at least as impulsive. Nessa could see her potentially going for it, if she genuinely thought it would make her stronger.
In fact, if the risks weren't so great, even Nessa's shinigami pride likely wouldn't have been enough to stop her. At the end of the day she had destroyed her inner hollow with such ease, using her kido, that if Shiori had a zanpakuto anything like her own, then it might have not been so bad."I'm amazed you survived the fortress, I guess Aoi must have died to get us both out of there but I remember hardly anything." Her body language was relaxed, confident enough that even if there was a sudden attack from Shiori or elsewhere, she'd be able to deal with it. She reached up and fiddled with one of the straps on her eyepatch which was sitting strangely on her cheek.
Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.
The end is the only thing certain
She wasn't quite sure how to handle what was happening here right now. She was sure that Nessa died during that mission. Or did she just happen to go missing? The same with Aoi, she hadn't seen nor heard from him since. Now she was popping up out of the blue looking healthier than an ox. Then came the mention of a familiar name. Hidane. He's the one who helped her with controlling her hollow, he taught her the ropes of being a vizard and then one day he up and disappeared too. Still it was probably best she didn't act hostile towards Nessa, she didn't seem to be meaning harm but she wasn't about to let her guard down.
"How did I become hollowfied?" So that's the first thing she asked. Probably trying to see where her allegiances were as far as the Gotei was concerned. Knowing Nessa, she was a die hard soldier there was no way that she was going to give up on getting back to the Kidoshu. Her memory flashed back to the moment she was taken by the Arrancar.
"I was kidnapped by an arrancar who thought it would be fun to poke a hole in my head. Then Hidane saved me by chance and here we are. What about you?"
She was curious as to what had happened to her old squad mate. How did she manage to get away that day, where had she been and how did she become Vizard?
"This is the first I've seen or heard of either of you since we went to deal with that hole. As far as I knew you and Aoi were both dead."

Nessa nodded at Shiori's return question, her face solemn. She needed to know to what level she could trust Shiori, and if that meant being a little to-the-point, then so be it. Her gauntlets clinked as she shoved them into the pockets of her navy blue robe, trying to detect any hint on her old squadmate's face that she was lying. It didn't appear so. But it was a kind of vague response, that made Vanessa all the more curious. All the same, she got the feeling that she was unlikely to get any more out of Shiori, especially since it sounded a little like it had been done completely frivolously, which would likely be a sore point for anyone's pride. And it still didn't answer the question of whose side Shiori was on.
"Honestly, I never thought you'd make it out alive. The Soshi thinks that you and Aoi are dead." Nessa said bluntly. She wasn't sure what Shiori's relationship with the Grand Kido Chief had been but in all likelihood it was a damn sight better than her own. "I got hollowfied, and dragged myself out of there and collapsed on the Soshi's doorstep. She crammed me into some experimental gigai, and dropped in the human world. Suddenly, no powers, no memories. Hidane saw me for what I was, and tried to talk to me but honestly," she paused to laugh ruefully, "I just thought he was a freak. It was all fine, honestly," another pause, this time to reflect on the months of gentleness she experienced as human!Ness. "fine until that little shithead Moeru Hirashi hit me with a soul-removal glove because I was 'ignoring him'." Nessa's eyes flashed with anger. "I swear to god I'm going to throttle that boy if ever I see him again." She said, fists clenching in her pockets. There was a brief moment of silence. Where did they go from here?
"Did you hear about the invasion?" Nessa asked, casually. They both knew what angle she was getting at, however.
Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.
The end is the only thing certain
The Soshi thought she was dead? That couldn't be right, she was with the Soshi up until the point that she was kidnapped. She didn't say anything though, instead allowing Nessa to carry on speaking. She wanted to see what else she knew. From the sounds of her story Shiori's former teammate managed to make it back to the Soshi, although she had already been infected at that point. Shiori found it slightly hard to believe, from what she knew of Blod she would've killed a vizard on sight. This news about an experimental gigai was interesting though, she wasn't keen about the memory loss, but the rest sounded interesting. She continued to listen as she told her about hwo she eventually was shocked back into their world and soon after ran into Hidane.
"You said a Hirashi hit you with a soul removal glove?"
So it was someone related to Blod, interesting. She didn't realize there were more of them in the Gotei, though she felt like she may have heard the mention of a Moeru sometime before. She pondered the story while she waited for a response. Hidane hadn't mentioned Nessa once, did he meet her first or the other way around? She turned her attention back to Nessa when she asked about the invasion.
"I did, I hear the Gotei is recruiting. We could even go back if we really wanted to." She trailed off and stared at her former partner for a second. She was the third person in a row she'd run into with this kind of strength. "But I don't want to... at least not like this. I need to be stronger than I am now." She paused again wondering if she should tell Nessa or not.
"I had a run in with a group of Quincy recently. They were relatively easy to deal with, but they were lead by a Vizard that was probably as strong as you are if not more so." She didn't really want to ask, but she needed help to break this plateau and quickly. "Nessa, I'm going to safe it's safe to assume you have your bankai. How did you go about getting it?"

I AM NOT A MONSTER

TO BAD PEOPLE
and horrible monsters
Alex had spent the whole day on the prowl. Things had been quiet for a few months in Karakura and that had him on edge. He kept playing things over in his head; the girl in new york, all the monsters he had slain with some newfound superpower, and then the explosion. Everything he had experienced for the past two years came crashing down like a weight as he drifted aimlessly. He tried to focus on his hunt but no matter how he tried he was stuck in his head.
At first, he didn't even notice the tug. He had made it halfway to the river before a presense drew his attention back. He smiled at first, assuming his new prey would be like the last. This changed as he drew closer, something in the back of his mind begged to turn back. 'Why not just go back to the way it was before?'
He stopped for a moment and shook his head. No, he couldn't go back. He looked up and decide to push on. Push on he did until he saw the source of the pull. That's when he saw her standing next to a stranger.
"Nessa?" He was shocked. At first, he couldn't think why she was here. Then he remembered the explosion again. She was there. His eyes opened wide with a look of revelation, he had forgotten all about her being there.

"Yeah," Nessa replied bitterly to Shiori's first question. "There I was, getting to live a normal life as a human free from all of this. And he had to..." she shook with rage, thinking about it. "Well anyway, he's the soshi's stupid nephew or something." Maybe one day Vanessa would let go of her extreme anger towards Moeru but it was possible that she also might have throttled him long before that point. She pulled at a long strand of midnight blue hair, twirling it between her fingers girlishly.
So Shiori did know that the Seireitei was looking for allies. She wanted to get stronger? Nessa didn't really understand the logic. Maybe she was worried that the shinigami would try and kill them once they'd outlived their usefulness, and that by being stronger she could give herself a fighting chance to escape if need be. Vanessa figured, on the other hand, that she'd never be able to do that. So she had decided to simply put her trust in the good will of the shinigami. Perhaps remaining strong for a long period of time meant that they would simply never outgrow their use.
What she said next did give Nessa pause for thought however. So Shiori wanted to gain use of her Bankai. It was common knowledge nowadays that it didn't take ten years to master, as had been commonly touted by some of the arrogant captains of the Gotei 13, who seemed to improve their own powers upon receiving the proverbial kick up the ass that was Ichigo Kurosaki.
"I think I vaguely know of the Visored you're talking about. I've been avoiding him. I honestly have no idea how strong I am. I haven't really fought anyone since the transformation, but when I defeated my inner hollow, I think I gained a lot of strength. My reiatsu sensing is still so bad though, that I find it hard to really tell. I gained the true name of my zanpakuto moments before it fused with my inner-hollow. In principle though, it's about meditating to manifest your zanpakuto spirit in th-" her pupils narrowed to pinpricks. There was someone else there. Nessa whipped around upon hearing the familiar voice. Alex?
This was bad. Alex had known her as a human, and human!Ness was not the same as Vanessa Vorjen. All the same, she felt she was responsible for looking after him, and making sure he was okay. Shiori wouldn't do anything, would she? If she wanted to escape now would be the premier time to do so, Nessa supposed.
"Alex!? What are you doing here?" she asked, her brow sharply furrowed.

Blods' nephew eh, well then, that probably gave him some clout but it wouldn't save him from the hurricane that is Nessa. It must've been nice, to lead a normal life even if it was only for a short time. She still got to get away from all this which it seemed was what she really wanted. Though now that she was back into this world, Shiori guessed that Nessa didn't have much choice than to go back to what she knew.
She crossed her arms at her chest and stood, still listening to Nessa speak, telling her more about what she knew about the Vizard Shiori had mentioned. She hadn't caught the name of the silver haired devil, though she didn't need it, she had her own way of getting in touch with him if need be. From the sounds of it though she probably shouldn't let Nessa figure that out, she'd probably try to kill Shiori on the spot or at least detain her and possibly use her as a bargaining chip. Yeah, it would be best if she kept that much to herself.
Instead she simply nodded as her mind processed the information being given to her. Then just as Nessa was getting to the part Shiori was mainly interested she could sense someone coming close. A human, weak, no trouble to her or Nessa. Perhaps just a passerby? She quickly realized her conclusion was wrong a new voice spoke, yelling out to Nessa who turned and responded quickly. This clearly wasn't their first meeting, they at least seemed to be on civil terms.
"Friend of yours?"
Shiori asked as her gaze shifted over to the human. She wouldn't do anything. At least not until she knew Nessa's stance where this guy was concerned. She didn't really need to fight her right now, she'd much prefer to make more friends than enemies as it seemed everyone she's ran into lately has been with the opposition. Or at least they found the need to test their strength on her.
{Items}Monban no Me [Gatekeeper’s Eye] - A prototype collaboration between the 12th division and kidoshu following the events of Aizen Sosuke’s rebellion. In order to better police travel between the three worlds, the shinigami sought a method to track garganta, with the intention to tune the Seireitei’s barrier to permanently prevent it being breached from the outside by hollow-based sources. The “gatekeeper’s eye” is actually a misnomer, as the kido formula and physical enhancements do not actually affect the user’s vision, but rather require attachment to nerves close to the brain to function properly. Hollowfied cells are also utilized, which have the unfortunate side-effect of warping the eye’s appearance and tainting the optic nerves. It is advised that users wear something over the eye to prevent headaches and vertigo, as a hollows vision, while only slightly different from a shinigami’s, clashes with the visual information from the other eye. This eye gives the user the following abilities: First, the user can sense garganta being opened in a massive radius around them, though pinpointing the exact location takes time. Second, using the temporary dimensional “scar” left behind by garganta, which can be seen using the eye, the user can re-tear a recent garganta open. Lasty, because of the tampering done to user’s nerves, a special extrasensory perception develops, described as almost identical to that used by jigokucho. This allows the user to navigate the senkaimon and precipice dimensions without recourse.
{Kido Specializations}Eishōhaki (詠唱破棄, "Incantation Abandonment"): is the skill in which a Kidō practitioner skips using a spoken incantation completely, but it drastically weakens the spell. This is applied as a 1-2 tier drop in the spells power depending on ones Kidou mastery, 2 for Beginner up to Advanced, and 1 for Mastered and above. However this also lowers the spells cooldown to match the lowered tier, to a minimum of Tier I.e.g A Tier IV Kidou be cast with Eishohaki as a tier II, its cooldown will also be the same at 0 posts.
Zen Sanshutsu Eishohaki (全産出詠唱破棄, Full Yield Incantation Abandonment): A specialisation of the arts that enables you to unleash the full Tier power of a Kidou without saying the incantation. Kidoshu members are able to do this by default, with how well they can do this dictated by their Kidoshu Perk Mastery. For other Shinigami to achieve the same effect, they must train each Kidou spell separately without incantations. [The spells noted to have this effect must be marked with a * on your profile. Ex-Kidoshu members can ignore this]
Nijū Eishō (二重詠唱, "Twofold Incantation"): A class of Kidō Incantation where the Kidō practitioner mixes the incantations of two entirely separate Kidō spells together to save time and confuse opponents simultaneously. "I was just passing through when I felt something." A little bit more about what exactly happened that day started to make sense for Alex. Nessa had saved her, and she looked much like she did now. He had encountered that boy at the construction site who was dressed like her now.
"What happened to you?" He was a bit irritated. He didn't really know how to act. Nessa had felt perfectly normal when he had first met her. But now he felt a similar feeling between her and the other woman as he did that strange ghost boy he had fought with at the construction site.
He turned to look at the other woman. She was dressed even stranger than Nessa. She reminded him somewhat of that man from all those years ago. They both gave off an ethereal essence, something more than human. So many questions rattled around in his head, so many new revelations from the past year that he just couldn't put together.
"What are you?" He kept his eyes flitting between the two of them, he didn't know the stranger and as far as the truth he didn't know Nessa either. Alex knew he would need to be careful, and that most likely he would have to reveal himself as well.

Nessa shot Shiori a dark glance as Alex approached. It was a glance that women in both worlds traded routinely, day to day, and could be translated into a single word. "Men." Nessa, now, knew all abou Alex's antics. About the fact that he in fact fought hollows. Ach. He'd seemed like such a nice, normal, genuine man when she had been but simple human!Ness, but fate seemed to be telling her more and more that that life was fake, that it was always destined to fall apart. God, Nessa hated hollows. Everything about them was scummy and ruined her life all the time, in every way possible. And now, when she was trying to discuss shinigami matters with Shiori, now was the time that Alex would need the masquerade fully shattered.
"Shiori... Look inside yourself. Pull your spirit out. I heard about what happened when Olympus attacked Karakura. If you've got a new asauchi... And you've bonded with it... It should be fine. It'll be difficult, but if you train hard, and beat it at whatever challenge it offers you- well if you ever want to train together, look me up. But I'll be going back. I can't keep living in hiding like this. Not when there's quincy about. It'll be easier to train and get stronger back with the Kido Corps." She shrugged. "As for you." now she rounded on Alex, "Well that's a pretty rude question to ask a lady, right?" she asked, with an arched brow that indicated imminent danger. "And you see me again after all this time, and that's what you say?" this would not be the Ness that Alex knew. She was sassier, more cynical, more irritable. Perhaps more beautiful, even with her eyepatch, but more terrible in her beauty, haunted by the horrors she had witnessed and experienced.
"What's a girl got to do to find a decent guy around here, right Shiori?" there was a wicked glint in Nessa's eyes right now. She was not great at sensing reiatsu. But what she could sense was that if she exerted her spiritual pressure on him that he would pop like a blister. That kind of power was intoxicating and addictive, and it tinged her cheeks with a slight rosiness. She strutted around him, tapping her chin with her finger, as if to say 'well well well, what shall we do with you?'.
It would be a hell of a way for someone to learn about the spiritual world.

Tension began to fill the air as the two payed more attention to each other, mainly because the human seemed to be confused about the current Nessa in front of him. It didn't take a genius to figure out he had met her as a human, and that he was also basically a new born when it came to the mysteries of the spiritual world. It would be easiest to just get rid of him here and now and not worry about it in the future, but it was also true he had done nothing wrong. Perhaps Shiori could use him to her advantage, it wouldn't be bad having a man on the ground as they say. Still it all depended on the behaviour of Nessa.
Shiori glanced in her direction as her fellow vizard spoke to her of the problems of finding a good man. Did she really expect her to answer that question? That was the last thing on her mind. "Ignore the weak ones." That was all she said on the subject. Still she had gotten what she needed from Nessa, whom was now seeming very interested in the human. Perhaps Shiori could take advantage of this situation after all.
"So you're a newbie, huh?" Shiori too began to strut around the human as she looked him up and down. "You don't look like much, I'm not sure you want answers to the questions you're asking, boy."
Her words were deliberate. She wanted to provoke him, goad him into doing something stupid. She wanted an idea of what kind of power he held and what his combat capabilities were. She had to make sure he was worth the time if she was going to bother keeping him around. Hopefully Nessa wouldn't get in her way.

Things were turning south fast. Alex clenched his fists for a moment, before making himself relax. They were toying with him, like dogs chasing a cat. He hadn't had any expectations from the stranger, but this was not the Nessa he knew. She looked at him like he was some plaything, like the idea of destroying him seemed fun. 'Did you expect to ever meet someone normal after what happened?' He thought as he watched her circle him. 'Of course, the innocent act had been a lie.' "What am I supposed to say?" He felt like being sarcastic at first, but really just didn't have the energy. "We didn't exactly get a chance to explain ourselves... Hell, I don't even know what happened." He wasn't lying about this after she saved him things had gone blank. The first thing he remembered was waking up in a hospital being told he was the victim of a gas leak explosion.
He turned to the stranger when she goaded him. "I guess you can say I'm new. Though to what I don't know." The whole situation was getting dicey. He felt like he would pop like a balloon at any moment. He knew he needed to be careful, after everything that had happened he would not let this deter him from the truth.

Nessa wasn't exactly sure what kind of answer she'd expected from her ex-squadmate but the answer she ultimately gave fit the bill for her personality. That was Shiori, all business always. Ignore the weak ones, huh? Nessa was a little different, but she wasn't quite sure what human!Ness had seen in Alex. He was a big, strong, burly guy which she supposed that maybe when she was weak and on her own, she had been attracted to. She felt a little bad for him. She was not the nice girl in print dresses he had known. Maybe that was why she felt a little protective of him and she bristled slightly at Shiori's strutting.
"Alex," she said, more gently than before, "you hunt monsters. That's why you're here." did Shiori really need to be here for this exposition dump? Nessa almost wished she'd go and work on her zanpakutou. "Well Alex those monsters are called Hollows. It's the job of people like us, the soul reapers," she gestured at herself and Shiori, "to eliminate those hollows, and shepherd their souls to the afterlife. Or at least it was. But both of us were infected, and became part-hollow ourselves. So we were kicked out of soul reaper society," Nessa figured this would be confusing and there was no way he'd really get what she meant, but if she gave him the basics so he knew how far in over his head he was, it might help. "Alex you're dealing with beings hundreds of years old, with powers beyond your imagining. I could almost certainly kill you by accident, by sneezing or something." she wasn't lying- her reiatsu was indeed incredibly volatile. "Go home Alex. Don't get yourself caught up in this. You deserve better." she commanded, and shaking her head she looked over at Shiori.
"I'll see you later." she told her, before with a swish, her shunpo carried her away.

Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.
The end is the only thing certain
He didn't respond exactly how she wanted him to, but she supposed not everything went according to plan. As he gave his answer Shiori finished her visual inspection of him. Again he wasn't much, but everyone had to start somewhere. She glanced over at Nessa who seemed a little tense, she wondered what her relation with this guy was. Nessa started talking again, going on and on about the basic politics of the spirit world. Honestly Shiori thought it was a waste of time, there was no point in filling his head with all that information in one go.
As Nessa finished her speech and said her goodbyes Shiori crossed her arms behind her back and watched as Nessa took off into the horizon, "Yep, see you around, It was nice catching up."
She turned her attention back to the human with a brow quirked, "So, why don't you tell me how you know Nessa?" She was curious as to the nature of their relationship. She was sure poking her nose into it would piss Nessa off a little, but she doubted that it would call for any form of retaliation from her unless Shiori were to put this mans life in danger.
