Obtainment: After leaving the Soul Society, Seran manifested an ability to help him his seemingly endless encounters with shinigami when his only vessel was a damaged gigai. Revealing itself during a fight, this technique caused a strange black material to bleed out of his body and coat it in a regenerating black armor. Over time Seran discovered that he could call forth more of the material at will, and manipulate it into most any shape he could imagine. Over time this became his signature power and he developed and discovered numerous abilities related to the substance.
Appearance: In its base state black iron is a dense, metallic black liquid. But this state is changed almost constantly through Seran’s abilities, making black iron capable of mimicking the appearance and physical state of many other materials.

Name: Hueco Acero (Hollow Steel)

Obtainment: While living in Hueco Mundo, Seran discovered that the sand that made up the white desert was not only composed of the normal white grains, but also trace amounts of other types, one of which was similar to Iron in the human world. He set about collected a large amount of the iron sand and smelting it using his black iron as a flux. The resulting metal was similar to steel in forging capability, but looked much more like iron.
Appearance: A dark grey metal with low luster. The material seem to dislike being polished and will revert back to a darker, tarnished state is such a process is attempted. When forged into items it often takes on a scratched appearance, as if it was gone over with a wire brush, but this does not affect the item in any way other than cosmetically.
Properties:
+Shikai durability and sharpness when forged.
+Up to bankai durability and sharpness when forged with specialized creation.

Name: Hollow Extract

Obtainment: After going through the research notes of Szayelaporro Granz, Seran began researching hollow soul structure. This liquid, dubbed “Hollow Extract”, was created by removing the dominate soul or souls from a hollow and then using black iron assimilation to break down the remaining creature into a liquid form, stopping the souls from dissipating as they normally would when a hollow is slain. Hollow extract is the liquefied form of hollow souls and it is used to create various items, mainly for hollows and hollow variants.
Appearance: A writhing liquid that changes between black and very dark variations of blue and red. It moves as though it has a mind of its own, and reacts to spiritual energy by attempting to seek it out.
Properties:
+Hazardous. Requires specialized creation.
+Useful in alchemical recipes, mainly as a poison.
+Food source for hollows and hollowfied plants.
+Full extent of properties unknown.

Name: Hollowfied Iron Wood
Type: Material

Obtainment: Grown from seeds taken during his experiment into growing plants in Las Noches. This is the first hollowfied plant species Seran has fully bred. Plants chosen had exceptionally durable wood and high growth rate.
Appearance: Looks quite similar to a traditional desert ironwood tree from the human world (olneya), this tree differs only in color, having exceedingly dark, brown wood and very pale green, almost white leaves. The tree flowers all year long in captivity or in Hueco mundo, with small black and white flowers that attract jigokucho. It also has an exception growth rate, reaching full size in a matter of weeks when fed reiryoku on a regular basis, and even faster when grow using green weaving.
Properties:
+Wood can reach shikai durability with Mastered Creation and bankai durable with specialized.
+Items made with the wood automatically regenerate if and when damaged.
+Leaves and flowers can be using in alchemical recipes.
+Can live parasitically on spiritual beings, allowing it to be used in soul engineering and body modifications.
