At two o'clock a young girl died. She had just buttoned up her gray cardigan, gotten her shoes out of her shoebox and opened her umbrella, trotting out from the comfortable, cozy warmth of Karakura High School's entrance, into the whipping winds and drenching rain just beyond the doorway. Considering it was typhoon season, and the forecast for today predicted the worse, there was an early dismissal. Hurrying towards the sidewalk, she hunched as she balanced the tricky task of trying to stay dry and keeping her skirt from fluttering around, chatting with the girl accompanying her. "We just can't catch a break! These stupid monsoons just won't let up!" she said. Her companion giggled, hunched over, umbrella up. "At least we can go early, Saya," she replied. "Now let's go to my place. You can stay over if you want." Saya shot her a cheeky grin. "I'll think about it if your brother stops staring me down every time I come over, Aika. Leering at me like I'm some piece of---" Saya stopped dead in her tracks, peering down at the stretch of sidewalk before her murmuring "Oh no..." There was a small bird laid on its back, its chest heaving up and down, its wings and legs twitching. Kindhearted as she was, Saya dropped her umbrella and rushed over to help. Aika and others passing through, however, stood by confused, dumbfounded by what they were witnessing. Kneeling, Saya shouted back to her friend, "We can't just leave the poor thing in the rain! Get me a towel or something!" Aika craned her neck, looking past Saya's soaking wet shoulders to see her crouched beside... nothing. Saya awaited a response, and yet she heard nothing but whispers and gossip. An older woman pondered aloud if she was alright. Ignoring them all, Saya scooped up the defenseless creature, intent on walking back into the school all by herself at this point. She was determined to do the right thing and give this bird a fighting chance at life. Instead, her knees buckled in the middle of her turn and pivot towards the school. She collapsed suddenly and gracelessly, shrieking in terror. Aika inched forward, unsure of what to make of this.
"Saya...?"
"No! Stay back! Get away from me!" she screamed. The hinges of her jaw stretched to the limits. She scrambled back, fleeing from the growing crowd, whimpering, shrieking as Aika darted off after her. She tripped and fell flat on the ground. Scraped up and her lip busted and bloody, she scuttled along the rough concrete, soaked to the bone, pelted with rain that felt like bullets across her skin, until she suddenly found herself in the middle of a crossing intersection, a car streaming right at her. It smashed into her. She died before she hit the ground. Those still in school were kept indoors while first responders rushed to the scene. Onlookers gathered around. The streets were ablaze with talk of the events that led up to this unfortunate incident. Aika sat on the curb, sobbing, blaming herself, cursing herself for not being fast enough to catch her, to pull her out of harm's way. The driver was a nervous wreck. She stammered that Saya just bolted out. It wasn't her fault. Observing from a window in the hallway away from prying eyes, Remi D' Aubigné sat on the windowsill, leaning against the wall, watching as the ambulance rolled up, as the paramedics flowed out from within and examined poor Saya before making the heart-wrenching declaration that there was nothing they could do for her. Awful. Saya's death was a tragedy, but this wasn't a freak accident. There was something else at play here. Her mind's eye could feel it in the air. Those lingering traces of reiatsu wisping around, seeping into the pavement meant something was afoot. Staring pensively at the cloudy skies, she reached into her satchel and retrieved her cell phone. She only took a brief glance towards her screen, thumbing past a few icons before she began tapping out a message for her guardian, just to check in and let her know what was going on. Within seconds, she got a response.
So not even a touch of moral support, huh? Bah. Whatever. But that was the response she expected. She tossed her phone back into her bag. She knew she wasn't ready. She knew she was ill-equipped. And yet, she couldn't ignore the situation in front of her. Adjusting the buttons of her blouse, fixing her suspenders and brushing the bits of lint off of her plaid skirt, she hopped down from the ledge and slung her satchel over her shoulder. After she slipped off the indoor sandals and laced up the red converse, she grabbed the cheap umbrella she picked up at the one hundred yen store and set off into the streets.
~`|• Frome the shrine, I was well prepared and manifested deep nodes of introspection, whilst unraveling the binds and illusions in which my mind contorted between awakening into my spiritual abilities and ascending my previous human nature. The implications of physically manifesting my soul beckoned me to treat my body and mind witj profoundly respect, and allign myself to the higher realms of which Consciousness seamed. I trecked my way back into the community, and immediately sensing an awful malignancy in emotions from the bustling city life. The people, thier attachments, and thier lack of spiritual cultivation brought scorn through the air, in which I knew would have me rampart if I persisted to stay within the distortion. I began channelling my reiyouku and bursting forth my essence, for the sake of purifying my enviroment. The civilians couldnt feel me or sence my presence, no matter how spiritual I was.

~`|• Upon reaching the main stream into town, the rain casted down, drenching me and my black attire, sailor form gi, with a red sash tied around my neck. How mischievous of the weather to reflect the emotions of the city; dreary, drizzling of nostalgia of the true source, and of course, cleansing the malignant sins of its impurity. I felt the need of a shower upon my path in walking home, however the world provided me with one as an audible suggestion. A scream across the sky akin the beckoning thunder, a poor little girl cried helplessly in the distance. I entranced my mind, running at full speed to surjoin the commotion and settle the disampled heart of the afflicted. Before me, a crowd of individuals, whispering an gossiping. Thr'ought thier dismantles speech I decyphered cryptic messages of preordained events of a little girls and a tragic accident. I was not a fan of disparencies nor tendacies to be an onlooker, so I pardoned my way towards the front of the crowd to be welcomed to a contorted figure of a little girl, her spirit standing above ground, looking at her lifeless carcass. I sighed briefly before turning away. Not much I could do in my ability to bring her back to life, nor could I subside any pain on which could alleviate the traumatize 'towncrier', I didn't need to make matters worst, so instead, I clasp my hands and gifted profound prayer on the huidance towards the spiritual realm and the little girls spiritual perfection in the afterlife.

~`|• I trotted from the crowd of gathering individuals around the girl prospecting her death and causations leading up to her time of passing. So dear, yet I could not sully my hands with a feat I could not manifest as such a time. As the rain grew heavier and the weight of both my mind and heart the same. I became to regret coming into the city. Emotions ran too high, and none of the people willed for medical attention. I figured, Subconsciously, like I, they knew there was nothing they're could physically or spiritually do to dismantle the effects of death. As I made my way up the lane, I met a spiritual presence of another walking my way.

Death. An accursed and forsaken front. As this Saya individual was hit by the car, a frail body fallen prey to forces of nature. Crimson essence splattered across the pavement. The poor girl was nomore. Yet, her spirit remained. Tied to the corpse of her being. Maybe easily overlooked, but the chains had wrapped around the corpse. The wailing spirit unable to pass from this plane of existence. Police officers and medical personell dispersed. And as Saya's body was taken away, only the wilting soul remained.
This was where a certain platina haired woman entered. The scene was still locked down, but the mod soul felt the torpor of a soul unable to pass on. It yanked on her being and she found herself wandering towards. Yet halted by the police tape pulled across the scene. Numerous officers giving the blindfolded woman an odd look. Mathilde took a deep breath and stepped back from the tape, turning around slowly to move off. She couldn't help the lost soul pass on. Not with this amount of officials present. It'd cause problems and attract unwanted attention. A trickle of blood drawn as she bit her lip in frustration. Said annoyance soon made way for curiousness. She sensed two individuals. A human and a mix of hollow and human. She turned to move on the sidewalk, headed to meat the fullbringer and human head on. Halting in her tracks before them and tilting her head. It was not like they could sense her. Having been taught just how to hide an excreting presence.
"An afternoon clouded by blood," she said, before taking a deep and curt sigh. Her voice so soft and soothing. A sound akin to the feeling of a warm breeze amidst a chilly, autumn noon. "I presume you would know more about this poor girl?" She asked, the hint of sorrow more than audible.

OOC: Sorry about the delay. Life happened. Anywho, if anyone has ideas on how things should go, or any suggestions, feel free to let me know~
[Edit:] I had to fix my post. I thought I made this edit a few days ago with the flow of how things went.
She had made her first strides out the door, just a couple of steps, four, maybe four and a half. And yet here she was, caught dead in the open, sandwiched between two unknown unknowns. To Remi's left, a young lass dressed in the finest in maritime fashion. She looked prim, proper, and she oozed with elegance. She practically shined against the gloomy grays on this dreary day. To her right, a young woman dressed in lolita fashion. Her dress was lovely really; the designs were really eye-catching. The blindfold was an interesting touch. Impractical? Maybe. But it was certainly... fashion forward. She'd love to whip out that notebook of hers and take a few notes, but this wasn't the time. The young fullbringer's hand rose upward; her pinky pressed to thin, dainty lips. The scene of the incident was closed off by the authorities. The school was emptying out. Saya's physical body had been quickly whisked away. And of course, people were being urged to leave the area. Two detectives were already at work behind the yellow tape. Though her skills at reading lips weren't perfect, Remi could at least make out the words "Unusual Smell," "Illness," and "Bloodshot." Saya's spirit had already coalesced. The chain of fate binding her had broken the moment that lifeless lump of flesh was carted away. And yet... she had descended to her knees, sobbing, her body quivering. Her head was thrown back; she was glancing upward. But her eyes were vacant, lifeless. She was silent.
Something was wrong.
But it wasn't safe to approach Saya just yet with everyone around, nor could she sense anything like murderous intent seeping into the air. If her instincts were correct, there was no immediate danger. That aside, Aika was already being ushered into a police car and just glancing down the block to her right, Remi could recognize a white 1985 Toyota Supra circling the bend. Aika's mother was just arriving and following after her daughter. That's fine. She could ask Aika questions after things settled down on her end. She could try and catch a few drifters still hovering around the area if they saw the incident. But first things first, there were a few orders of business to take care of, starting with the curious case of the lolita. Ignoring her common sense, and just how unusual it was to be sandwiched between two unknown unknowns so conveniently, she chose to scoot closer to the big-hearted girl clad in black, granting her a nice cozy spot under her umbrella to shield her from the rain. "Not shivering when you're drenched. Blood's spotting your bottom lip, and you can navigate blindfolded... Pretty odd." Our dear girl Remi, her lips were fixed into a sheepish smile, shy, a bit skittish as well. What an odd expression to have considering how straightforward her words were. Her glance briefly drifted towards her other new "companion," her smile unshaken. Still pondering, she didn't even bother with letting her pinky fall away from her mouth. Really... How did she figure out who to ask? It was easy to see that she and Saya went to the same school based on the uniform, sure. But she saw that through a pitch black blindfold? Better yet, how was she getting around? Even for someone blind all their life, on familiar grounds, even assuming they can perceive light, a walking stick would be used to find the edges of their surroundings, to navigate past obstacles, to feel out any potential changes made to an area they may have long since memorized to gain their bearings. The lady in black had an unremarkable aura, average by human standards. That's all well and good, but for an ordinary person to even have a sliver of the spatial awareness needed to brave the town unaided? She didn't buy it.

Mathilde's head craned around to glance at Remi as she moved over. Offering an umbrella to shelter from the rain that drenched down relentlessly. If anything, the rain and loomy grey sky wouldn't bother anyone. Some would even find shelter in it. Yet as Mathilde so eloquently put it, an afternoon covered in blood, it made the amosphere worse. The otherwise unimportant rain now seemed the skies weeping for the lost soul of the girl. And with whatever subsituted Mathilde's heart in this vessel. It ached.
The stormy weather by now had let up lightly. Rain had grown softer yet remained ever present.
She frowned as her question went unanswered. Instead, a querying assessment made towards her. The small droplet of blood. No sense of cold or discomfort. Not only navigating around with a thick blindfold, but also having keen 'eyes' to know exactly where everyone was. It was a valid remark. But one that sadly failed to answer her question. "Mayhaps so," she answered with the faintest of smiles she could muster under the circumstance. "But I'm not important right now," her head turned to glance back at the soul of Saya. Who stared up to the heavens, besotted, dead. As if she couldn't fully comprehend what had happened.
"She is. Her spirit needs to move on, peacefully." Math added, glancing at the police present. And now, the crying and screaming mother. Who was escorted to the nearest ambulance by several paramedics. A woman shattered. Mathilde didn't even need to 'see' to know what mental condition the woman was in.

It was brief.
For just a moment, Remi's reiatsu quivered, her head turning, squinted eyes set upon Saya's mother as she wailed and cried. Her throat dried, a nerve in her temple twitched. For just a moment, Remi stood silently, observing as one of the EMT's comforted the woman, as everyone took a moment of their time to extend their sympathies, to get her out of the rain, to help her as best as they could. It was brief, but it was just for that moment, Remi had placed herself within Saya's shoes, had allowed her heart to swell up with emotions, to feel the very same pain Saya's mother felt right now. But the Remi who turned to face the blindfolded girl stood tall, the smile she had worn before had changed. It was pleasant, one brimming with confidence, of promise, one shaped by steely resolve. Unflappable, oblivious to the grief and death surrounding her, unfazed by the thunderous rumbles and rainfall from far above, she produced a tissue from her satchel, leaning in close before dabbing away the blood along Mathilde's lip.
Her reply to what was stated before? It was straightforward and direct. And yet, it was spoken with such a soft, delicate air; barely above a whisper. "Yeah. Saya was a good person" Remi wished to do what she could to help Saya, but she was no shinigami, not that such a thing would stop her from trying. However, there were so many eyes on this scene. Photographs were being taken, damages on the car that hit Saya were being assessed alongside the skid marks created, the detectives had long since drawn out an outline of Saya's body and were looking over everything. Sadly, being made of good old kishi meant she couldn't roam about unseen. It was regrettable... But as the saying goes, it couldn't be helped.
But watching everyone so hard at work gave her a decent idea. They say when in Rome, do as the Romans do.
After taking a second to admire both her skillful dabbing technique and how spotless Math now was, she allowed her hand to slide back into her handbag, bringing it up to eye level, awkwardly fumbling it about in both hands. In between all the umbrella slanting and rustling sounds, a careful observer might have noticed, the glints of emerald light pulsing throughout the bag, the sudden hammer-shaped bulge that went as quickly as it came. As Remi slid her wrist from out the bag, it was now clad in a gaudy bracelet decked out in blues and gold, a shimmering orange gemstone at the epicenter. Her fingers were wrapped around a rose gold iPhone 7. Allowing her bag to dangle over her shoulder again, the girl turned to the scene. To the outside world, her fingers were ablaze, texting faster than the speed of type. But in reality, that was a ruse. Without flash, without touchscreen commands, her phone took photo after photo after photo. Pivoting on toes that barely touched the ground, she swept her phone across the landscape. Fifty, seventy-five, a hundred, no... Two hundred and fifty-seven pictures in less than three seconds. And most likely twenty seconds before the investigators took notice of them and tried to shoo them off. "So who are you, and what are you planning to do?"
{Abilities Used} Name: Gremhazzard Class: Fullbring Tier: III Charm: Type: Various Range: Self to Long Range Description: Gremhazzard was quite the odd little tool when it made it's debut in "Chapter 1". Through it's use, Lupi was granted the ability to meddle with the Golems of Galdo, shaping them as he pleased for use of his own ends. Similarly, Remi is granted the ability to mentally modify, disassemble, and reassemble subjects she strikes with her hammer. Through the use of disassembly, she's capable of breaking objects apart with even a slight tap. She may even tap an object and reduce it to the core components used to create it. On the opposite end of the spectrum, she can become the ultimate fixer-upper and restore that which is broken to perfection. Though it's use, she can modify objects on a small scale. While the hammer's strength does come from it's versatility, it's power has limitations. Objects linked with the soul such as a Zanpakutō cannot be acted upon, and items created via item creation are also resistant to its effects. The hammer also cannot alter a person's size. What's more, large objects cannot be disassembled so freely. Rather, a smaller section of such an object may be chosen to be converted. This section must be no larger than the size and dimensions of 12 ft x 6 ft x 6 ft. Furthermore, her modifications may not last longer than two posts. Objects may be disassembled or reassembled at half-bala speeds.

The sudden change in demeanor was more than obvious for Math. Cruel irony had it that she was specifically designed to comfort and provide moral support. A sort of psychotherapist, a morale boost. And yet, she could lock emotions and such away in an instant. Whatever was a bother during the time was locked up, restricted and sealed until later use called for it. Now, she had sympathy, and she felt for the girl. And it hurt her from the bottom of her metaphorical heart that she couldn't provide this support to Saya, nor her grief-struck mother. But, alas, there was nothing she could do. So she relished the sensation of grief, how fleeting it was for someone as her.
The beaming smile on Saya, however, was something she was unprepared for. A brow furrowed underneath the black blindfold. Unable to be seen properly by said visor blocking at least half of her visage. "Saya," she repeated the name, glancing over to the soul of the girl once more. Noticing the sudden influx of reiatsu from Remi, but deciding to keep her eyes on the girl. It was distinctly pigmented as a hollow's. And her nostrils flared momentarily. But that was the only moving she did. Upon closer inspection, it was even as if she wasn't breathing.
She glanced at Remi again, the girl rejoining her. "Mathilde," she answered, before glancing back at the scene. "Wait. Guard her soul from anything else and help her move on. Or guard her until a shinigami comes along to purify her." Intentions were crystal clear. She had no bussiness lying to Remi. She apparently had the same interest at heart. The girl moving on peacefully.

What a puzzling girl. So uncomplicated, so simple and easy to pick apart and understand. She was honest to a fault. She was unusually stoic, blatantly disregarding measured invasions of her personal space, and yet a seemingly limitless amount of empathy oozed out alongside the tinges of melancholy of her words. Here she was, a complete stranger who stood ready to stick her neck out for someone she didn't even know in the slightest, prepared to wait as long as she needed to for the opportunity to walk past the line and help a single soul move on.
Or maybe it was Remi who was the puzzling one. How could a decent human being bring themselves to grin like she was in such a situation? How could a sane person swallow their emotions in such a way? As she thumbed through the various images she captured at this point, ticking off all the little bits of info she had gathered thus far, Remi recounted the first few weeks of her time in Karakura High School. She remembered how isolated she was, how whispers seemed to follow her wherever she went. "Sadako," "Ring Girl," "Creepy," those words seemed to creep around her, lying in wait at the end of every hall. But Saya was the first one to approach her, the first who seemed interested in getting to know her a little. Though it was only a brief conversation, Saya inspired her to change her look a bit. Remi cut her long, flowing hair so people could see her eyes, she tried to smile more and be more optimistic.
Just like Saya.
Now she felt her smile beginning to fade.
No, not now. Remi pushed those thoughts to the side. This smile meant everything. It was part of what helped her stay focused right now.
Still buried within the sea of photos within her smartphone, she nodded towards her new acquaintance. "I'm Remi. You have my support." She declared.

But now there was another issue. There were a few fingers pointed towards Remi and Mathilde's general direction. They were, after all, the only civilians still on the scene. Seems like those twenty seconds came and went just like that.
As the detectives motioned towards the pair, and someone was sent off to issue a warning, an odd scent wafted through the air. It hovered about Saya, sulking in the street, wrapping around the clothes. It was sharp; it made the air taste bitter. It was enough to make every person present recoil in disgust. And yet even more so, this scent brought panic. Howls filled the air as the investigators and accompanying parties present fled, scrambling across all directions, falling over one another. Meanwhile, Saya's body shook, muscles tensed, veins bulging. Her body began accumulating muscle mass. Her right arm suddenly pulsed, ordinary in one moment, in a second, the size of an SUV, the skin darkening, rippling with sudden convulsions. Her left leg followed suit, bones, and sinew squelching from the sudden growths. Her head jerked back, eyes completely rolled back in her head. Her mouth opened up, a small canary peeking out. It's plumage and feathers matted with bile and salvia, and yet in this dark and gloomy overcast, bright, shimmering lines of code could be seen flowing down each feather.
Yes, Code. Binary. 0's and 1's moving interchangeably down its body.

There it was. The regret and sorrow the girl tried to hide behind her inquisitive and cheerful demeanour. What may have been barely noticable to normal humans was more than obvious to Mathilde. A twitched smile and a slump in body language. It was a completely different pigment she percieved with her Alter Sight, rather than a normal human's vision. A gloved, gloved hand came to rest on Remi's shoulder. Leather crackled softly as Mathilde squeezed the girl's shoulder. Even if was just to make her realize she wasn't alone in this. Even if Remi tried to silence it to death. But that nagging feeling of grief, it kept screaming. Louder and louder over time, if you tried to smother it. And words would just ill befit the non-verbal statement.
After that, hell seemed to break loose. The scent alone had Mathilde on guard. And her guise cracked. Her reiatsu poured out the instant Saya seemed to go berserk. And the SaHU directive was activated. A brilliant glow of gold surrounded Mathilde's feet. A certain feeling of comfort would pass on to Remi. Golden particles hovering about her. And like that, she was off. Dissappeared to only reappear in a golden glow next to the two officers who couldn't run properly. One had a broken leg. The other was petrified. She picked them both up. They seemed to calm down. Unusually calm for the situation. There was something off to her reiatsu, though. It was soothing, almost hallowed. Yet more than obviously was it synthetic. Artificially crafted by a human hand.
She told them to run, her hands on each shoulder respectively. Remi could feel the interchange of reiatsu between herself and the two officers. Empowering them, calming and revitalizing them. The broken leg mended. The petrification gone. And they cleared the scene a fraction of a second later. Mathilde turned around, watching the abomination that had overtaken Saya, letting out a soft huff of breath. "Saya?" She called out with the same soft, hushed yet beautiful voice. Moving forward towards the flesh horror.
Body Name: SaHU vessel #001: Paragon Body Theme: Resilience / the holy one Body Appearance:NieR Automata: 2B
Body Technique Name: ASM: Alter Sight Tier: I Type: Passive Range: 200 meters Description: The way Mathilde sees using this vessel. Her mind constructs an augmented reality of sight, purely based on all of her other perceptions, sight, smell, sound and spiritual presences. This presents shapes in various hues and colours. This provides no combat advantages nor disadvantages and can be manipulated by any means. This has a range akin to normal sight. However, this technique also allows for immediate presence detecting within a sphere of a diameter of 200 meter for Mathilde, anything that has a spiritual presence can be 'seen' in a 360° field of view by Mathilde, if they are not hiding with assorted techniques or their reiatsu control.
Body Technique Name: ADM: Ghestalt Tier: IV Type: Defensive Range: Personal Description: A quick, defensive ability generated by SaHU vessel #001: Paragon. Golden reishi is pushed from the body by the pores in the skin and covers the vessel in a tier IV silhouette of itself, leading to defend against any attacks from tier IV or lower, given advantages. It is possible for Mathilde to step out of the silhouette and still have it up as a makeshift shield. This technique shatters the instant one attack hits it and suffers one post cooldown. If an attack is not made against this shield, it dispells regardless within the fraction of a second. For site mechanics, this has no duration, but rather, an instant technique.

Name: Suppport: Helping hand Class: Augmentation Tier: I Type: Healing Range: Personal Description: As the title might indicate, a simple healing technique that follows the tier I regulation in the healing guide, as well as using the racial mastery substituting healing mastery.
Name: Damage reflection Class: Augmentation Tier: II Type: Passive Range: 100 meters Description: Linking her own created body to another's, any offensive technique sent to the linked individual is instead reflected to her gigai or plusie. Taking full damage from where the technique would hit. In the simplest terms, this means she takes every attack and strike from someone who would attack the linked individual. Provided they are within 100 meters diameter of her. Targeted: Remi is now designated as a protege. Math takes her full damage with calculations applying to her. Remi is unable to be damaged.

Saya
That single utterance brought about horrifying screams, mind-numbing, ones that sliced along the eardrum like a hot knife through butter, piercing through, scraping along the skull like rusted nail over concrete. That lingering odor, this nauseating stench flittered throughout the air, nastily scuttling about, slithering into every bit, every nook and cranny it could find. It groped about; it touched all it could in ways like no other could, penetrating, violating all in reach. The Canary, completely matted in all manner of filth, chirped happily, mockingly as if all was well in the world around it as if it were though this is how things were meant to be. It just begged the question: Just what the hell was inside of Saya? As her body still twitched about, as her ridiculously large hand further engorged, as the ground shook and shattered under her fist as she battered the ground, seemingly in agony, her eyes rolled back in place, wet with tears. The cheerful, blithe spirit, that shattered, broken shell of a person whose own soul had been usurped, had been made into a mere plaything... Deep down, Saya was still in there, and now words spilled out from the tweeting clog in her throat, mere gurglings.
"r----urguh... c---anthngh s----ttooarrpt"
Anything else she had to add to that was immediately choked off as the rest of her body, save for her head had begun to swell. Try as she might, she was no longer in control. There was nothing more left for her to do than stand ideally by and watch herself become a monster.

OOC: They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Hope you feel that way >_>
Mathilde's kind gesture, and selfless actions had not gone unnoticed. But Remi had little time, nor desire to mull and muse over them. For now, thanks to Mathilde, Remi felt frighteningly calm. Fear nagged at her heels, but it dared not grasp them. The scent filling the air did not invoke gut-wrenching disgust, nor did the flumes rasp her eyes and sting them. She exhaled, breathing out the last traces of trepidation holding her back, her footsteps carrying her to Mathilde's side in just a few swift strides. Her phone floated out of her hand and back into her bag. Glimmers of emerald danced across the air between her now closed fist, solidifying into a purple hammer. Her reiatsu pulsed outward, throbbing against the wind and rain like a steady heartbeat. Her aura was tinged with darkness, the air becoming thick and soupy, yet rough and coarse like sandpaper. It was indescribably unpleasant, dripping with the inklings of dark desires, of destructive impulses.
Yes, it was remarkably Hollow-Like.
But Remi's body language was still loose; not a single muscle was tensed. Blue eyes had long since flashed open, as sharp as could be, searching, probing the seething pile of flesh. Straining her Mind's Eye to the limit, she could feel it: The reiatsu Saya's body was emitting... it wasn't that of a hollow's. In fact, there were two distinct signatures, and one of them was becoming stronger, drowning the other out. Of course, as luck would have it, the reiatsu that pulsed from The Canary was dominant, ebbing along inside Saya's grotesque form, flowing, mingling with her reiatsu, steadily gobbling it up and incorporating it into its power. Its energy slowly seeped, creeping along, aiming to settle around Saya's Hakusui. It was at she understood the situation they were faced with. If they didn't act quickly, Saya's very soul would be crushed down into nothingness, fully assimilated by this... thing. "We need to separate her from that thing in her throat, or else she's gone for good." Staunch and resolute, and yet that tone was still breathy, marred with that bit of soft fragility just minutes before. She was ready to do whatever she had to do. She would free Saya from this horror, no matter what.

Put all your weight on me. I will shoulder the burden.
She glanced at Remi for just an instant.
It was the last thought in Mathilde's mind before sentience shut off completely. With disappearance of sentiment, came cold, tactical advantages. Once one ceased to be human and became a machine, efficiency increased. And while she hated doing this, the odds were much more in their favour. If they were to walk away from this encounter alive, with Saya freed, it would be the best possible outcome. Try the obvious, eliminate any risky elements and move on to the more complicated options.
And the simplest of solutions here was to tear that bird thing right from it's mouth. It was an obvious weakspot. And by any means, it would defend said weakspot relentlessly. But just standing around wouldn't work either. It seemed Remi agreed, though it didn't register to Math. The girl was now a VIP that had to be protected at all times. The golden radiance on her feet hummed with energy for just a moment, before she lunged forward, aiming to grasp the creature and tear it from Saya's throat. It was far fetched, but the creature was still transforming and swelling up. It was a chance she could bet on. The odds were calculated and they were favourable in tandem with the efficiency. Since a fight that dragged on, was a fight that costed lives.
Name: Reaper mode Class: Augmentation Tier: III Type: Augmentation Range: Personal Description: Triggered by heavy emotional strain or physical pain, reaper mode disables any semblance of pain for Mathilde. When in reaper mode, Mathilde gains access to any techniques with the denotation of 'Reaper'. This techique activating also locks Mathilde out from using any techniques that are denoted by 'Support'. Ontop of that, Reaper grants either an x2 increase to strength or speed. This buff lasts for a three posts. Though Reaper mode remains activated until the combat encounter has ended. -2x speed-
Name: HVT: Radiance Class: Stepping Tier: I Type: Stepping Range: 100 meters Description: Using reishi particles, similair to Hirenkyaku, Mathilde propels herself in any given direction, small, golden particles of reishi visible with each step. Small, golden and arcane circles are left wherever she sets foot due to this technique while her oversoul is active. These linger for some seconds, before disappearing.

She was an oddity as always. That warmth she had exhibited early on had vanished. There was only cold and methodical rationale left. For all it was worth, she had turned her mind into steel. And yet she retained her supernatural, synthetic grace. She moved with the beauty of a leaf swept aloft on a gentle breeze. Briskly, she shunted in front of the curdling mound of meat and muscle as if she had teleported, reaching, grasping at what appeared to be the single chink in what was becoming an impregnable armor. Hooked fingers rasped upon The Canary and squeezed. It's head grew, inflated, eyes popping out under pressure like a squeaky toy. But for every yank, every pull, roots hidden from view sunk in, burrowed deeper within Saya's throat. Veins in its head pulsed, engorged with a vile gray solution, it's feather's pricking against Mathide's golden ghestalt. Rapidly, shades of sickeningly gray invaded, crept up along Mathide's arm, the barrier becoming viscous, foaming with putrid froth. It's "blood" was some sort of alkahest, a gray goo that worked to break down anything it touched, even reishi. Mathilde had less than a second to pull away, lest the concoction invade her flesh and work to turn it into a bland, bubbling mush.
The flaxen silhouette surrounding her new companion had begun to crinkle, at the verge of completely breaking. As the cracks formed, before the audible sound of shattering glass, a tinge of emerald lime clasped over the gold, the foaming gray reeling back, giving away to the golden luster once more. For Remi had not been sitting idly by, twiddling her thumbs. Swift strides had whisked her over to her partner's side, a discreet brush of her hammer's handle against the reishi gathered had resealed and mended Mathide's shroud. The damage that appeared before vanished as if it had never happened in the first place. And even now, as she held onto The Canary, the influence of the gray goo was being kept at bay, the changes, the rapid decomposition of reishi reversed the instant it occurred. Darting forward from Mathilde's left, with the beast "restrained," Remi had a clear shot down the center of Saya's forehead, a single moment to incapacitate the monster before them. Her arms tensed, her weapon rose, aimed. But the minute Remi locked eyes with Saya, with her face twisted in fear, with sadness, she shrunk back, hesitating. In that instant, a shrunken fist surged forward, smashing into her chest. She could hear it echoing in her ears: one, two, three, no... four ribs completely cracking inside her. She should have lost consciousness right then and there. She should have gone flying back by now, ragdolling in the air, before crashing into the ground. And yet, she felt nothing. What should have happened had not come to pass. Why...?
{Spoiler} Name: Gremhazzard Class: Fullbring Tier: III Type: Various Range: Self to Long Range Description: Gremhazzard was quite the odd little tool when it made it's debut in "Chapter 1". Objects may be disassembled or reassembled at half-bala speeds
~`|• I incessantly paced around the onlookers and those whom were gathered in the walkways of the street and noticed faint traces of emanating Reiryouku; spiritual beings of an unknown caliber. Even as inquisitive as my mind is, I saught to persist from the beings, whilst reducing the fervor of my reiryouku, stealthing others from prior detection or interruption. Unfortunately for thee, I had other matters to attend to within the city. Oh how dreary, the day had become, yet I would not allow it to pardon my stride and thus...
