Did you ever have a job that you loved, that sometimes you didn't love all the time? Like, that one thing that ruined the whole of it? Like a fly in your soup, if one were using a stupidly hoity-toity analogy. Of course you have, don't lie. Nothing was perfect except his Majesty, after all. But you sucked it up, and dealt with it, fought through it! Right?
WRONG. That kind of thinking was loser talk, as far as Audra was concerned. You didn't struggle through problems, you kicked their ass. You bully your brain into liking it! If you couldn't pick a fight with yourself and win, why get out of bed in the morning? It was with this general principle firmly in mind that Audra made her way from skyscraper rooftop to skyscraper rooftop, trying her level best to enjoy the task of hollow hunting, which was frankly beneath her dignity as a member of the Invisible Empire's glorious Soldat. Or would be, if her superiors hadn't ordered it. That made it a quest, which was worth doing. If she was showing any signs of strain from all those mental gymnastic, it certainly didn't reach her face.
At least the weather was nice. It was a dark and stormy night, as the saying went. Thick, gray-black clouds obscured the moon, but the place was lit by the cheerful flashes and thundering roars of lightning and thunder. The patter of rain on everything filled the gaps between the bursts, and water hitting her metal armor DID have a nice sound. Sure, there was no small risk of getting hit by an errant bolt, what with all the metal she was wearing, but life without risk wasn't life.
So. Hollows. She'd been here a full half hour, and nothing pinged on her radar, which was weird. Usually, a city this size had at least a few of the ugly beasts lurking about at all hours. Which meant one of two things: Either she was superbly unlucky, or the few who WERE here had eaten the rest. Or her sensing sucked. Yes, that was three things, shut up. Fine, whatever, there wasn't a rush. It'd be nice to sit here, take in the sights and sounds of the storm. Surely she'd have an hour or oh for the love of Blut, of COURSE something shows up just as she had a chance to sit down. All this time looking and the moment she stops, there it was. She could see it over the edge of the roof, about ten stories down. It was like the universe had something against gorgeous asskicking warriors for righteousness, or something. This one was a flier, which made things more interesting. You didn't see too many of those around. Pulling her arms into a stretch behind her head for a second, she flicked her hand and formed her spiritual spear before giving it a nice twirl. Alright, hard and fast, the only way to fight. Stepping to the edge, Audra let herself begin to fall. Just before entering full freefall, she sent a shock of reishi down her legs and kicked off, hard enough to break the concrete of the roof a bit. Like a bullet with great hair, she rocketed her way toward the hollow with a bout of laughter that someone with access to a thesaurus would likely call "maniacal".
LET'S SEE WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE WITHOUT A HEART AND WITHOUT GUTS!
{Spoiler}Name: Skyfall Class: Reishi Techniques Tier: III Type: Supplemental Range: Self Description: While most Quincy possess the ability to form standing platforms of reishi, the control provided by such a position negates the advantages of momentum. Unsatisfied with such weakness, Audra created this technique that wraps controlled reishi around the feet and, to a lesser extent, body. The feet reishi momentarily augment the Quincy's jumping power many times over, sending them hurtling them high into the air. The rest of the reishi forms an ablative coating that, while no real use defensively against an opponent's attacks, stops the immense momentum and eventual impact force from crushing the Quincy's body entirely. The extra momentum doesn't replace the impact damage, it just adds to it (which is to say, a normal swing would do normal damage on hitting, with the added damage of a Tier III.

Dammit.
Perched, hunkered over in the pittering rain was a feathered figure that radiated ill intent, a beast of murder and massacre, shadow incarnate. Wet.
It was nights like these that Blight really despised, he had waited all day for the sun to set, for the shadows of the Human World to take back their hold on the world below and release him, free reign, upon the masses to devour whatever powerful souls he could scoop up within his talons. But no, tonight was ruined by the gloriously shadowy clouds that hung around the sky, coating everything in its horrific dampness.
In an attempt to avoid whatever rain he could, he hunkered back against the bricks and concrete of the rooftop of a building, beneath a very short ledge that did very little to keep the water at bay. When he had slunk from the Garganta at dusk, it wasn't raining, but soon after it was too late for him to find any better cover the storm had began, full bore. Worse yet? Lightning.
Blight had learned early on what lightning did to poor flying creatures. Honestly, what horrifying power fills the night sky with blindign light and can incinerate feathered beasts like they're Thanksgiving Day feast.
Nights like this were begging for Blight to hunt in Hueco Mundo instead, the human world just not being worth it enough for him to bother with getting fried or wet. He had waited long enough, and it was time to go bac- hmm?
From a ways away, Blight rapidly turned his head into the direction of a screaming figure who was soaring toward him now, an unchecked "SQUAAAAWWWK!!" blurting out from his beak as she came barreling in. Frantically flapping his feathers and kicking his clawed talons against he concrete to try and desperately get off of the ground, his eyes were full of panic and surprise. Seemingly at the last second he finally gave one powerful flap of his wings and disappeared, replaced only with the buzzing sound of static as he sped off into the sky.
Dammit! Now he was going to get soaked, fried, AND murdered!
Oho! Chicken-not-so-little could dodge better than a corpse, it seemed. As it took off and began flying off, Audra's entire outlook shifted. This wasn't bug zapping, this was a hunt! Oh, that suited her just fine. That realization, along with the residual adrenaline from her reishi-shielded fall, finally got her heart moving at the appropriate level. Oh, this was gonna be fuuuuuun. Pulling her spear out of the ground with a solid tug, her face split into a grin to scare small children before aiming at her quarry. Alright, it wanted to run? Fine by Audra. Just meant he'd die tired.
Pointing her reishi spear at Blight, she called the nearby spirit particles to the tip with the force of will and Empress would envy and the "volume" of a screaming berserker. The reishi complied (because how could it not?), crackling unstably before erupting with a roar into the sky. Real lightning bolts weren't likely to target Blight at this altitude, what with the juicy, metal targets of the nearby massive buildings, but they didn't NEED to come from the sky with Audra around. A quick three shot of low level bolts served as her introduction before performing another superhuman jump. This time, she kept extremely low to the ground, a long jump that put records to shame, before touching down and jumping once more, vertically, to see if she couldn't get a hit on the hollow directly above her. Her laugh was booming enough that she could be heard over the natural thunder around them.

Blight was soaring now as stable as he could while worrying about how wet his feathers were, how imminent the chances of getting struck by lightning was, and now whoever this psychotic woman was. Blight was the embodiment of silent death from the shadows, while this woman seemed to embody ALL THAT WAS NOT SILENT!
His crimson gaze rapidly darted around to the world below, both to find his pursuer and to find a place that could possibly help him escape or at least hide out the storm and this psychotic bitch. For now he definitely knew that he couldn't stay flying for much longer, the storm still raging on above, but he also couldn't land, with the- SQUAAAWK!
As a sudden few bolts of lightning blasted from below, Blight frantically banked to the left, then the right, and finally having to Sonido to dodge the last. Popping out of Sonido a fair distance away, he was booking it now, with the true fear of god in him. In the distance, the speck of hollow frantically dove straight down toward the world below. He had to hide, and quick before she could find him.
As he dove rapidly down, wings drawn in and beak pointed straight down, he desperately moved to dive into the endless shadows of what seemed to be a park below. Coming up now on the ground, he had a slight moment of relief in seeing the inviting pool of shadows that was the ground below. But, just as he nearly reached the ground, a flash of lightning in the sky lit up the park like a beacon, leaving Blight to slam beak first into the ground, crumpling from the force, a half squawk blurting out before the air was knocked from his avian lungs. As the light faded from the sky quickly, Blight sank slowly into the shadowy earth, the darkness enveloping his crippled form.
Now weakly, he squirmed away under the cover of some nearby trees, which would hopefully hold their shadow even in this storm. And to finally get out from all of this rain.
{Techniques Used}Name: Esfumarse Class: Hollow Power Tier: II-IV Type: Supplementary Range: Self Description: While in shadow or darkness, grants the user the ability to blend with the shadow and become invisible and suppress his Reiatsu, to almost melt away into the shadow. While within a shadow, he can move at normal speed through the shadow and connecting shadows.
Name: Regeneración de Velocidad Alta [High Speed Regeneration] Class: Hollow Technique Type: Passive Range: Self Tier: I Description: Powerful Hollows have been shown to possess incredible powers of regeneration, specifically at the adjuchas class. This ability allows for the regeneration of most body parts with the exception of vital organs and the head itself. The ability is dependent on reiatsu and cannot be maintained indefinitely, likewise, one cannot completely regenerate from fatal wounds unless give uninterrupted time to fully recover the damage dealt.
Down and down the lightning falls, you flee and I will follow, your night is done, and so is your fun...POP goes the hollow! At this point enjoying herself way more than is healthy, Audra was literally singing along with the sky's thunderous roar. Watching the monster dive into a nearby forest just made her laugh a bit more. Yes, hurl down into the park, where stuff was in your way. What kind of flier was this? Then again, with the sky AND the ground flinging bolts at him, perhaps shelter in the trees made sense. It wasn't like she couldn't follow in the air, in her own way. That angle though...yeah, he wasn't pulling out of that. By the time Audra made it to the grassy section, she saw the dented ground about where she expected the creature to land...but not the creature. Hmm. He hadn't flown off, since she'd been watching the sky. She didn't feel anything nearby either. And something that big wasn't exactly able to waddle off at high speed...What gives? He hadn't died on impact and exploded into souls or something, had he? She didn't get the finishing blow? Oh, that was just typical.
You still there, birdbrain? If so, you got until the count of "1" before I set stuff on fire! The threat had made more sense in her head, really. If he was hiding, smoking him out seemed a valid tactic. Maybe he ran and she could follow. Maybe he just burns. If nothing else, watching a large wooded area burn in the heart of a city would be nice to watch topside. Make the evening news. But then reality, that constant downer who she was convinced was out to spoil her fun as often as it could, intervened. Setting things on fire was a whole lot easier when there wasn't a constant stream of rain. And not even enough flooding to actually electrify the area either. Problem after problem. Grumbling at the setback, Audra planted herself in the shade of a few trees and simmered for a moment, trying to figure out what to do next. She'd better end the night with killing SOMETHING or she was going to have a headache in the morning.

Blight felt his broken and battered form slowly repairing as he laid wait in the shadows, bones snapping back into place, the cracks in his beak sealing back up, and with a ruffle of his feathers he felt good as new... mostly. This night was going horribly so far, and worse yet, Blight had came here with the initial purpose of feasting, so the pain in his gut still squirmed and raked at his insides.
To his dismay, he watched the pursuer land down into the park nearby, already spouting taunts, and now threats to burn down the forest! Yet another thing on Blight's hate list, FIRE. Add in a few cats and this could be a version of the poor bird's own personal hell.
The groaning in his gut was putting a few crazy thoughts into his birdbrain now, starvation seeming to push him past common sense into the realm of psychosis. In the moment, he truly was thinking that getting even just a bite of this storm-maiden would be worth the potential to get fried to a crisp or ripped to shreds. Slithering along the shadowy underbrush, he made his way up to a tree just across from her, sunk into the shadows and hidden away, setting up a plan to take her out.
Some are fans of the direct approach, but to Blight that is far too risky, and sometimes not as effective as shear trickery. So as per usual, the scheming began to form. As his simple plan fell together, his feathery form slowly rose up from the shadows across from her, beak agape as he the universal aura of a Cero flooded out, the blast quickly building in his throat.
To make matters worse for Audra, from the shadows of the tree she was pressed against grew a sinister and silent set of shadow talons that dug into her armor and held her firmly in place just as the blast of Cero roared free from Blight's beak.
This was all of course, what it seemed like, while in reality, Blight had created one of his doubles while building up a Cero, shedding it while it continued to be a conduit for his attack, while he slipped away back down the tree and as far from there as he could while under the cover of shadow.
Name: Plumas Class: Hollow Powers Tier: III-IV Type: Defensive Range: Self Description: Creates a faux-self, a fragile copy at the exact moment of use, that poofs into feathery Reiatsu upon contact. If Blight is channeling an ability, he can slip from his Plumas copy, and use it as a conduit to finish channeling the ability. By overloading the copy, bumping it to a Tier IV, he can cause it to explode, dealing tier IV damage. Name: Garra de Agarre Class: Hollow Powers Tier: II-IV Type: Binding Range: 50 meters Description: From a shadow, Blight can manifest a dark talon-like claw to snare a user by piercing and holding them. Name: Cero (Hollow Flash) Class: Cero/Bala Type: Offensive Range: 100 Meters Tier: IV Description: Are high-powered energy blasts that can be fired from various places on the body. Only Menos, Arrancar, and Vizard have so far been shown to use Cero attacks, and it appears that stronger entities can use it more efficiently.
Oho! Looks like birdbrain hadn't scampered away like the fragile little chicken he vaguely resembled. Audra would have saluted his courage, but she considered anyone whose average bravery wasn't categorized as "suicidal" as an underachiever. So, he wanted to shoot beams of destruction? Well, one could play at that game, 'cause Audra sure as hell wasn't "playing". Making a move to get up and charge, she found herself considerably less mobile than she would have liked at that particular moment. Flashing back to the charged cero, she pulled her still free arm into position, pointing her spear at it and reflexively releasing as large a burst of reishi as she could through it. The blast roared free just after the red beam came hurling her way, its roar matched by her own. The two attacks collided, a bit closer than a sensible fighter would want to their face, releasing the energy explosively. When Audra managed to open her eyes again, the cero was gone, the hollow was gone, the tree behind him was gone, and there was a fairly sizable line in the ground into the distance. Okay, so her shot had won...and that was it? The beast was dead? Sure, "hollow exploded" was a fun end in theory, but she felt a bit cheated. Maybe it was the suddenness of it all. She hadn't gotten a chance to watch clearly. On the plus side, she'd definitely felt her heart skip a second there, and she'd put all she had into that last attack, so that was good. She'd call it a net positive for a fight.
I'd say "see ya in Hell", but neither of us will ever see it. In your case, 'cause you don't exist any more. She smirked, but the expression died on her face seconds later. She was still gripped. Now, maybe his abilities worked after death, but more likely...
Well, aren't you a slippery bastard. Commanding a current through her body, her physical form veritably exploded as she converted herself into a burst of electricity. Reforming a few feet away, she looked down at her armor, now with fairly noticeable tears in it. Great, she'd have to patch that later.
Don't suppose you'll squawk for me, big bird? Ah, who am I kidding. Of course you will. Raising her weapon again, as if pointing to the storm above them, she hurled up her own blast of reishi, charging the atmosphere yet further. She couldn't command the true storm (...yet...) but this would do for now. The air crackled about her, dancing over the metal of her armor.
Most Quincy favor the bow. I'm not one of them, but it's not like I don't have one. We just call it the sky. With that, a set of 10 bolts came raining down on the park at random. Unlike the true bolts, these lacked a certain amount of punch, but they were fast and hard to predict. Fun times for her.
{Used Techniques}Tier V reishi burst from Variant Style (Now on Cooldown)
Name: Greased Lightning Class: Reishi Techniques Tier: II Type: Defensive Range: See Description Description: Some fights need to be abandoned (preferably in favor of bigger, more impressive fights). Sometimes you need to make a spectacular entrance. Either way, this ability provides. Converting the user's body into a form of living reishi lightning (which cannot physically interact with anything's spiritual signature, meaning it's useless as a weapon), it allows rapid and long distance transportation, up to a maximum range of 10 miles.
It is analogous in all ways save visuals to the shinigami's Bat Out of Hell spell. As with its predecessor, it can't be used during combat, only to enter or leave it.
Name: Stormcaller Class: Reishi Techniques Tier: III Type: Offensive Range: 100m Description: Firing a burst of reishi particles from her spiritual weapon, Audra electrifies the air above the region, calling down bolts of electricity like the sky was her bow. Audra controls the impact points, and the fire rate is about 10 bolts per post. The artificial storm lasts for up to 7 post cycles. Bolts fall at half bala speed.

Blight was still slithering away through the shadows of the underbrush, moving to get to a safer position away from this psychotic mad woman. Shade was his friend, but not necessarily all of these trees to be in the way. That was until he heard an explosion behind him, just as a blast of energy roared through the forest, tearing through trees and the earth that nearly roasted Blight where he was. In a panic, he flung himself out of the shadow, which had ended up evaporating in the light of the blast anyway, and frantically flapped his wings to kick start a much needed Sonido. All that could be heard was a "SQUA-zzt" as he vanished, reappearing further off into the forest.
If Blight had a heart in his hollow chest, it would be racing right now, but luckily he didn't have to worry about a heart attack. Mostly he just had to worry about being fried by lightning, crushed by falling trees, torn in half by a psychotic pursuer. And yet, even with all of this, and the true terror that he was experiencing, he couldn't seem to get himself to escape just yet. Something was drawing him back to the woman... something deep in the pit of his stomach... oh yeah... hunger.
Just in the moment that Blight thought he might turn back and give murdering her another shot, all of his potential bravery was shattered with a single bolt of lightning. It tore through the branches above him and shook the ground, yet another involuntary SQUAWK blurting from his beak, sending him zooming off once again throughout the park with a Sonido, only to find himself faced with another bolt, and another, leaving him frantically flapping and soaring around between trees in an attempt to keep from being vaporized. This night was proving to be a true nightmare.
Audra made a quick note to herself to bring some sort of sound recording thingy next time she went out. Between the falling thunder and the hollow's highly amusing vocalizations, she was pretty sure she could put together some kinda mix tape with it, or maybe an orchestral style thing. Her spear was, kinda literally, already a conductor's baton that dreamed big after all. "An Ode To That Monster I Exploded, in D Major Major Major", she could see it now. Oooo, maybe capture a bunch of them at once and zap them in tune like a piano made of monsters? That sounded too awesome not to try, eventually. Later, though. No recording devices right now (nobody would believe her, and then she'd have to kill them, and then she'd probably have to clean up the mess...) and too few hollows around. Ah well, her present quarry was, at least, doing a fine job of making this interesting, and a less fine job of dying. Well, she'd teach him the latter, without issue. Never let it be said that she wasn't a giver.
Waltzing through the trees to the sights and sounds of falling bolts, she ambled after Blight without worrying too much about the distance. Most of her blasts were targeted around where she heard him squawking, with one or two near her for dramatic effect. If he took off, a skyjump would make him regret it. In the trees beyond her sight though, it was difficult to pick him up. Audra wasn't much of a tracker, in any sense. On the plus side, at this rate, they wouldn't be able to tell the forest for the trees, because she was taking this forest apart faster than a Captain Planet villain.
You got a name under all those feathers? I kinda wanna know what I should put on your tombstone, so I can deliberately not make one without anyone thinking I just didn't know who you are. Usually, these sorts of fights (chases?) started with an introduction. Hollows ruined everything, even just decent battle introductions.

Blight was pushed into a crazy adrenaline frenzy now with the crashing lightning and explosive thunder, zooming around rapidly with flaps of his wings, static buzzing all around as he sped through the air. Being a flier, Blight was especially quick when he needed to be, and this was definitely a "need to be" kinda situation.
After the initial fright of nearly being toasted, and the follow up spree of lightning, Blight's terror grew slowly into a rush that when coupled with the hunger in his gut made a dangerous combination. With a powerful flap of his wings, Blight sped off once again into a Sonido spree, appearing spiratically around the forest nearby, eyes glued onto his prey.
Without warning, suddenly and seemingly from all directions, a volley of bala came hurtling towards the general area around the woman, the speeding bird now sending off an attack of his own, and one that he had alot of practice with. His bala were precise and unforgiving, even if they lacked a real punch. But over a hundred little thumps can add up quickly if not taken seriously. And Blight was beginning to lose the luxury of fear, true survival taking over the reigns and sending him into a death spiral that may or may not take her right into the grave with him.
The counterattack was, at least at first, a legitimate and not entirely unwelcome surprise to the Quincy. Despite the energy she'd detected earlier, this had thus far been mostly a chase, not a fight. That was all well and good, but only really satisfying when there was a degree of resistance to overcome. To be sure, the chase was part of that, but the chase AND some more combat was better. Still, a pleasant surprise remained a surprise, and Audra was caught off guard by the initial burst of bala. Frankly, her armor wasn't designed (yet) to deal with that sort of blunt force, and it showed. Her body was flung back several feet, into a tree with a crunching noise (the wood, not the Quincy) before she managed to pull up her left gauntlet and energize the Seele Schild. Not the most solid defense, but against the weak-but-numerous bala, it was fairly ideal. The latter half of the attack struck the barrier like raindrops on a car, but the first bit had done its work well enough. Her back hurt and her left arm had taken a few extra hits from the time she'd taken to raise the defense. That would slow her down too. Not that she'd let it show. Once the barrage had settled, she managed another taunt.
I've seen a lot of fighters in my time. Most of the ones who think they're hot stuff put more faith in speed then power. "No point if you can't hit something", right? Idiots, to a one. She placed a boot down properly and got out of her slump in the tree, keeping the shield up as she did so in case another surprise blast came out. Straightening herself out and trying to shrug off any appearance of weakness as she gripped her spear in her right hand tightly.
Speed IS power. She let the bolts from above, another ten, fall at spaced intervals as she leaped into the air once more, thankful her legs felt better than her back. The attacks likely wouldn't hit him or do much damage if they did, amusing noises notwithstanding, but it would help her aim her subsequent fall. If she heard the highly distinctive sound of sonido, that was where she would fall like a bolt from the blue. She gave a little nod to one of the bolts that came down as she came up. Not as fast as real lightning, alas, but at least it was fun to watch.
{Equipment}Item Name: Seele Schild Description: A small shield alloyed out of Soul Silver, enough to fit on a Quincy's arm. While they are useless against more powerful attacks, it's small size being only enough to cover ones forearm, it's durability is enough to deflect strikes of a sealed zanpakutou, or even a shikai.
{Injuries}It occurs to me that it might be easier to track the damage I've taken to keep an eye on consistency. Gonna try this as an experiment, see if it works.
Armor: Minor dents, not-so-minor claw rips on the side
Body: Bruises on torso, more concentrated blugeoning blows to the left arm. Blows to the back.
