APPEARANCE
Anansi
Colorless strands of hair trail upwards to an almost cartoonish length, forming a Mohawk. An equally pale, but wild crop of hair sits below ending in stripes that stop just short of his neckline. A strangely fitting companion to Anansi’s flawless dark skin that if not for his choice to join squad twelve, would be scarred and calloused. Always one to smile, Anansi’s face exudes a confidant smirk flirting with arrogance. His scrawny frame and juvenile appearance, leads most into believing him to be much younger than he truly is. The various modifications to his robes and attire in order to make it look “cooler” don’t help either.
PERSONALITY
Prone to confront situations, seemingly with reckless abandon, it is only until the enemy has drawn its final breath, that his façade is revealed. Much like Anansi’s youthful visage masks his experience; the Choclategami’s bravado is too a disguise. Taunts bursting with arrogance and, claims of superiority are traps designed to disarm a foes’ guard. All the while he patiently analyzes his opponents in order to find their weakness. Typically his ploy works out, but for those times when they do not, he takes on a more serious tone. Not unlike his enemies, fellow officers also underestimate the lad. Fortunately for them he is not the type to attack anyone unprovoked.
Anansi is your classic good guy. He upholds the virtues of goodness and fights evil. But this is not to say that he sees life in shades of black and white. On the contrary, Anansi knows all too well that any society is grey. Just because someone adorns the trappings of an angel, does not make them so. He is likewise aware that not all “demons”, are evil people who need to be smitten. Instead, he prefers a situational approach, judging someone’s character on their actions, and not what they look like. The result of his open and tolerant nature has earned Anansi a reputation for being naïve. This stigma has also saddled him with the nickname “little boy”, because of this perceived naivety on the part of his peers. Regardless, Anansi refuses to betray his beliefs in order to cater to the whims of others, especially his hardheaded squad members
Bold with a dash of childish flair, Anansi is a fun mix of eccentricity and youth. The most obvious signs of this are reflected in his attire, or other slight modifications made to the Shinigami’s robes. Whether it is something as slight as removing the sleeves, or something more drastic, he just hates to blend in. When it comes to work, he looks at life as an adventure to be explored. Whether he’s developing a weapon for Squad 12, or assigned a rather boring observation mission. He takes life by the horns.

Incantation: Raijin, mighty god of thunder! I call upon thee! Lend me thy hate, fury, and anger!
Description: A variation of Hadō #4, Byakurai that exchanges range for power, turning the lightning produced red in colour. As the range the caster attempts to use Hidenkō increases, the spell loses potency, becoming totally ineffective past 15 meters. It fires at half-Bala speed.

BATTLE SKILLS Name: Bunkatsu tōchi(divide and conquer) Class: REIRYOKU TECHNIQUE Tier: II Type: Offensive/Supplementary Range: Self Description: Chocolate flesh imbued with vile energies, summons spiders innumerable(50 for practical purposes). Dyed black with four red stripes for eyes, they quickly form into two exact clones of Anansi at bala speed. These simulacrum while physically accurate lack any abilities beyond the shinigami's base speed. Their purpose isn't combat; however, simply to act as decoys and distractions. They also possess the physical durability pf a tier II. Name: Watashi no niku o ateru(shed my flesh) Class: REIRYOKU TECHNIQUE Tier: II Type: Offensive/Supplementary Range: 30Meters Description: Reiryoku born arachnids(20) fall from Anansi in an oily black downpour. Forged without a will and manipulated by his desires, the tiny creatures service their creator by acting as spies and bombs. Created from unstable bits of his reiryoku, the creatures cling to an enemy and explode on command. Because they are mere crumbs of his reiryoku the damage they inflict is equivalent to a tier I-III. Alternatively, Anansi may observe the world around him through the eyes of his minions. Despite the almost incomplete nature of their design, they allow him to see through basic stealth abilities (Tier I-III). Name: U~ebu no ha(Blade of Webs) Class:REIRYOKU TECHNIQUE Tier: II Type: Offensive/Supplementary Range: 30 meters Description: With a single sword swing, strands of webbing escape in waves at bala speed, blanketing the surrounding area. Deceptively delicate in appearance, each thread mirrors the sharpness and durability of a tier II, while holding onto their signature stickiness. Webs spawned from the weapon, cling to physical matter or spiritual particles in the air, much like a shinigami does when standing upon them. The webs spun by Anansi shares a similar quality with actual spider webbing in its ability to slow an enemy’s advancement or retreat. Whether human, shinigami, or otherwise, foes of and excluding Anansi and allies find their speed reduced. Foes At equal advantages will find their movement speed decreased by 2x. The speed of enemies, 3 advantages lower drops by 3x. Note: The opponent’s’ speed normalizes after they escape the webs. SEALED FORM N/A SPIRIT APPEARANCE Zan SpiritSPIRIT PERSONALITY Wild and wicked, Onigumo is a charismatic manipulator with a wit to match. And what would a snide demeanor be without a sharp tongue? Not only is he blessed with the image of a dark figure, Onigumo also possess a keen intellect. In fact, any notion of anything less is quickly removed, often with a sarcastic snipe or deep insight. For others who insist on sticking to this impression, he lures them into an intellectual debate of some kind. Of course he makes sure said subject is something he has knowledge of least he be considered an idiot. A tendency, which has bestowed him the unflattering title of an argumentative, you know. Not that he minds, in fact he wears this as a badge of honor, thinking it to mean he has “won”. INNER WORLD
Stereotypical of an arachnid-themed zanpaktou, Anansi’s inner-reality consist of countless webbing stretched over an endless black expanse.
SHIKAI SHIKAI APPEARANCE CONSTANT RELEASE SHIKAI: BladePuppetWhile capable of assuming any form of the chocogami’s desire, Anansi’s shikai’s default image is that of an arachnid warrior forged in iron. Tall(10 ft) and menacing the giant is the counterpart of a rather common katana. When not moving under the instructions of the Zan spirit, Anansi guides its actions with the katana, much like a puppeteer directs his marionette. The sword; however; is not required for this purpose, as much as is a personal weapon for Anansi. Being that the puppet itself is the shikai it holds a shikai's durability. The nature of the weapon is deceptive often luring onlookers into believing its surface to be made of some tempered metal, when it reality its touch is gooey though no less dangerously powerful. Overwhelming Power: This buff is an incomplete cap left on the compression of power, causing for explosive torrents of reiatsu to surge around the user. This form of ability causes reiatsu sensing abilities to scramble when in the presence of the user, and also gives their overall speed and strength a 2x boost [not affecting steps]. The primary perk of this form is that it allows the user to practically use their overflowing reiryoku as a weapon. Most commonly found as waves of energy with the swing or focus of the Shikai of varying power, along with an increase in pressure by 50%. SHIKAI ABILITIES

Description: Onigumo’s stolidly herculean frame belies its bizarrely malleable nature. The shikai boasts a peculiar defense, assaults of an energy or physical nature merely "sink" into its form where they are neutralized. Energy powered by a Tier III; however, can allow an enemy to break free of the sticky mass and attack normally.

Description: Onigumo pours its terrible energy into its master’s surroundings, giving rise to Incalculable gossamer strands. Born from the shika’s essence these threads are Onigumo’s primary source of generating webbing. Bound to the shikai’s whims and by extension Anansi, the webs are freely manipulated. In fact if the choclategami, so desired he could make crude constructs with a tier I-III durability.

Description: Like starving babes, Anansi's many threads feast greedily upon the spiritual energies of others, absorbing those that do not outright destroy them( Tier III's or above). Be it friend or foe, unless specifically commanded to do so the webbing simply absorbs it. The stolen energy is then channeled outward into a harmless man-sized explosion. The types of energies it devours include reiatsu/reiryoku/etc/energy based techs/ and, passives(save for his own) that in anyway effect Anansi. This effectively acts as a shield against energy based techniques Tier IIs and below.

Description: Through the vast network of webbing at its master’s disposal, Onigumo and Anansi alike may channel their respective powers. Kido, reiryoku, and, release abilities alike, all are welcomed to traverse the silken strands. Whenever the mahogany shinigami uses abilities in this way, they disintegrate into raw energy. In this new, purer form, the spiritual energy is then freely moved to any point on the cobweb/threads, or dispersed throughout it. On a whim the contained essence can be detonated, exploding with the force it would normally have. Furthermore, should he choose not to detonate the web, the webbing through which the energies travels are imbued with its effects. For example, a fireball funneled through the webs would retain its fiery nature. When used in this way the attack or ability retains it's maximum destructive potential.
