The orders had been simple: go to the World of the Living, collect any information on the relevant persons of interest, deal with them one way or another, and return to Schatten Bereich. Easy enough. Berenice gathered the Soldat assigned to her detail, and deployed to their designated place within the World of the Living. She knew that somewhere in this world, NaNaNa Najahkoop and Jerome Guizbatt would also be carrying out the mission assigned to her. They were scattered, close enough that the three of them would be able to sense each other's reiatsu, but far enough that their assigned detail would not overlap.
Pushing a few strands of dark purple hair free of her eyes, the female glanced around her space. Buildings lined the paved path she stood upon, their dark and light structures stretching far higher than she had anticipated. Skyscrapers. Sucking in a breath and forcing it out between her teeth, the female dodged an oncoming car as she turned to the Soldat standing around her awaiting orders. "You know your orders. Analyze whatever reishi particles you can find, and be alert." The Quotation's gaze glanced from nameless soldier to nameless soldier. "You all know our other objective to recruit or capture persons of interest." Without a command, the soldiers clad in white moved around her, a twirling phenomenon of motion as they traced various reishi signatures to and from their sources.
Berenice stood at the center of the flurry of activity, her reiatsu fluctuating around her as it pulsed, almost like a mocking imitation of a beating heart. It wasn't a particularly powerful push and pull, just enough for those who were more than spiritually aware to sense her presence. Her reiatsu beats were after all, an invitation for those they sought out.
The trap had been baited. Now it was time to wait for the prey to waltz on in.
The buzzing of an alarm clock caused the black-haired Visored to shoot up into a sitting position in his bed. He rubbed the sleepiness out of his eyes and stretched, accompanied by a long yawn. Glancing out the window in his room in the warehouse, he saw the beams of sunlight drawing in and knew what was to come. Today was the big day, his last day residing in this broken-down building. Today he, Shiori, and Sayuri would take up whatever they could claim to own here and move to Tillhora, the haven, in Naruki City. But before that, while the others slept or went about whatever they wanted to do for the day, Hidane intended to get out on the town and enjoy himself. Frequenting his favorite spots in this town, while not necessarily difficult, would be a bit less convenient for the foreseeable future. He stood, slipping into his Gigai and dressing himself, in plain blue jeans and a white-and-blue striped t-shirt, his hair bound back into a ponytail, with plain white sneakers and black socks. In his Gigai both of his arms appeared normal, though his eyes retained their abnormalities.
He couldn’t sense Shiori in the building, unless perhaps she was below training, but it didn’t matter. She was free to do as she pleased, and she was probably still coming to terms with this new life anyway. On his way out, however, he did spot Sayuri asleep on the couch, cuddled up with Dane-san, the Hollow cat he had adopted long ago thanks to the creature being claimed by a friend that couldn’t take him with her. They looked cute together. The Visored grabbed a coat and walked out of the door, into the brisk morning air.
An hour later, the Visored found himself in one of his favorite non-ally-run cafes in town, enjoying a cup of hot tea and a hot sandwich to start off his day. He took a long sip from the steaming tea… when he felt it. He glanced to his right, sitting at an outside table at the café, and looked towards the taller buildings of the central part of town. It was a while off, but he definitely felt a pulsating Reiatsu there… Quincy, from the feel of it. His mind was immediately brought back to the encounter he and Caesar had had in Hueco Mundo… to Lisbeth and Lucian, the Quincies that had attacked them… talking of some ruler and a war to come… could this be an indication of that? He pulled out his Denreishinki, long since modified to work outside of the Gotei’s detection, placing a call.
“Oi, Shiori,” he said, his tone calm but firm, “I don’t know what you’re up to today, but you feel that? In the middle of town, in Karakura. I think we might have some trouble brewing.” He popped his soul pill mid call, holding onto the phone as his spiritual body slipped free, dressed in his combat dress of his Chinese-styled sleeveless top and slim black pants, his left arm completely bandaged in white. “Head over there as soon as you can.” He hung up the phone with or without a response, and a loud crack signified his Sonido taking him closer to the site of things happening.
As he approached, his recently heightened senses brought the scent of the Quincy upon him. He didn’t need to spread out his own Reiatsu and get detected when he could sniff them out. His deepening Hollow traits were… quite useful, sometimes. He walked calmly past several unusual individuals in white uniforms, around which the scent was strongest; so, it was more than just the individual showing off… thinking on it, it was probably a trap, anyway. But soon, Hidane would come into view of the one putting out the bait, and he had no problem falling for it. Within line of sight of the newcomer, he let his own Reiatsu run free, thick but not suppressing the hunter or any of her subjects, a thin black mist coating all surfaces in the area.
“Well, well, what do we have here?” He spoked loudly and confidently, his arms crossed against his chest. “Making such a display in my town… I guess that means you’re a bit more than just a tourist, eh?” His Sonido would carry him closer, only two meters away from the Quincy that seemed to be the ringleader here. “Before you ask, the name’s Hidane Asuka Koga, Visored. If you’re who I think you are, maybe you’ve even already heard of me.”
{SOME BG INFO}It should be noted that Hidane has had an encounter with a Vandenreich NPC (original, RP'd by Jade) before, a brief fight of Dane + Cae vs. original Vand quincy in Hueco Mundo.
Dunno if ya wanna use this in any way (such is the reason why Dane said she might have already heard of him).

Ones' only option is to strive for ones' own goals. If one cannot even do that, then one is lower than garbage. Worthless, for that one takes up space in this world while giving back none. That one would be better off dead.
The end is the only thing certain
She sat in the basement desert and simply stared out into the horizon of what seemed to be a never ending stretch of land within a building. She looked down at the zanpakuto laying across her lap, the look on her face quite serious. She wasn't sure where to go from here on out. As she was, she wouldn't be allowed to return to Soul Society, not to mention she was sure Blod Soshi would hate to see what she had become. She raised her right hand turning the palm towards her before it came up to cover her face. She focused for merely a moment and she could feel it. The energy building up within her, the darkness that came with it and the bloodlust. It was amazing, a high like one she had never felt before, addicting. She shuddered at the thought and removed her hand, small white particles started to disappear from her face at that point. Whatever portion of her mask that had begun to form was now gone. Could she resist the urge to not fall into this pit that came with her new powers? Would she truly become like Kasha, or would she be able to remain herself?
Her train of thought was broken as her phone began to ring. She thought about ignoring it, right now she wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. She wanted to be alone and meditate, but the only one who would be trying to contact her at the moment would be Hidane. With a sigh she reached into her pocket and removed the small device, flipping it open with her left thumb she placed it against her left ear.
"Hello?"
“Oi, Shiori, I don’t know what you’re up to today, but you feel that? In the middle of town, in Karakura. I think we might have some trouble brewing. Head over there as soon as you can.”
Hidane's voice came crackling through the tiny speaker and what he was saying caused her brow to furrow and a frown to crease her facial features. Didn't they already have enough to deal with? Well she did anyways, now some other dumb crap was going on.
"I'll be there right away."
She stood to her feet and swish of robes indicated her moving towards the outside of the warehouse. Where she was currently located she wouldn't be able to sense anything. It didn't take her very long to exit the warehouse, she was outside and on top of the building in a flash. It was an even shorter time for her to sense what Hidane was talking about. She felt the pulsating reiatsu, a beacon of sorts. Clearly a trap, but why? Who would go to the trouble of luring people in? Especially in Karakura of all places. From the feel of it, the reiatsu seemed to belong to a Quincy.
Hmm, it would take some time to cover this distance by step, but it would probably be the easiest way to approach unannounced. Still it was clear they weren't shy people, no need for her to hide that much. If they wanted an audience she would grant them one. "Genbo, Sieryu, Suzaku, Byako. Give your blessings and open the doors. Cardinal Gate."
Glowing white kanji for each of the names she uttered during the incantation appeared around, each at it's respectful cardinal point. They all linked and opened up a portal which came down on Shiori before herself and everything involving the kido disappeared with a flash of light like some sort of magic trick. Moments later the same circle would reopen itself over Karakura town in the sky. She was directly above where she had sensed the Quincy reiatsu but she was about 150m up in the sky. She could however sense Hidane here, he wasn't holding back his reiatsu in the least. Clearly matters were more dire than initially thought. Shiori slowly lowered herself to the ground as she allowed her reiatsu free reign as well. The last Quincy she had met was the reason she was in this situation technically, perhaps this was him? Not that it mattered now. As she came closer she could tell it wasn't she was both relieved and disappointed at the same time, but didn't allow it to show. Instead, a sigh escaped her lips before a few words. "Is it too much to ask for a quiet day?"
She donned the traditional uniform for the Kidoshu, being as it was the only thing she owned for clothing at the moment. She touched down beside Hidane with her hands folded across her chest. "On moving day too, really?"
{Spoiler}Name: Cardinal Gate Class: Kido Tier: I-III Type: Travel Range: Across Dimension or Anywhere the User has been before Incantation: Genbo, Sieryu, Suzaku, Byako. Give your blessings and open the doors. Description: After the incantation is said or the kido is cast the kanji for each animal guardian pops up in it's appropriate place. Turtle at the north, dragon to the east, phoenix to the south and tiger at the west, these symbols conect via a lia line of light forming a circle between them and then opening a portal that most would find akin to a senkaimon. This can be used to travel short distances or between the three dimensions, however the user of the technique would have had to have been in another dimension at least once before being able to use this technique to go there. This technique is strictly for travel, and can carry up to five people at a time though the tier III version must be used. It cannot be used in combat. May be used to leave and/or enter threads. When travelling across dimensions this technique doesn't allow one to bypass the dangai or garganta.
Like cows to the slaughter they came. First a male, his reiatsu unrestrained, a challenge accepted. Berenice allowed a smile to graze her lips. The male introduced himself as a vizard, and was even brazen enough to assume she knew of him. "You assume correctly, Koga-chan. I know of both you and your race. The Seireitei has wronged you and cast you aside for no reason. The Vizard captains were allowed to return, and yet you remain an enemy of them, but for what reason? What crime have you committed that puts you far past the point of redemption?" As the female spoke, the Soldat kept moving around her, ignoring the two of them.
Another reiatsu spiked, announcing another arrival. Berenice did not glance skyward where the female was, but she kept her senses aware of the second vizard's appearance. Shiori was in a good position for an ambush, yet Berenice was not here to fight them. Not if it could be avoided.
Instead of attacking though as Berenice had suspected, the vizard instead touched down beside her comrade (were they comrades?). "I'm not here to fight, only talk." She motioned to the Soldat. "If I were, my comrades would have attacked already."

From the Quincy’s response, Hidane couldn’t quite clearly tell if Lucian had reported him and Caesar to the rest of whatever organization they worked for, or if they had simply done there research. Did they have a spy within the Soul Society to even conduct such research? If so, things might be even worse off than he’d expected. That, or they had some method of obtaining otherwise unobtainable information. But he supposed that didn’t matter. Whether or not because of previous engagements, the Quincy knew of him, and likely Shiori as well, to whom he offered a friendly nod and smile when she arrived soon after his call. He couldn’t be sure how powerful this Quincy was, but if she was anything like Lucian, having a comrade at his side once more would certainly be for the better, especially now that he had no fear of losing control of his powers again.
“Lucky them,” Hidane responded to the comment about the white-cloaked Quincy patrolling the area, he supposed looking for others to ‘talk’ to, “as they don’t seem the type that would last long against the two of us, let alone other acquaintances and friends of ours around here.” The Visored, however, let his Reiatsu fall to a more complacent pressure, his demeanor easing into a more casual stance. Though he had his doubts, he would at least let the Quincy speak before moving to attack. With any luck, maybe his prior encounter had only been poorly stated and this was not what he expected…
…but he doubted it greatly.
“Well, then, if you’re simply here to talk, then speak,” he said coolly, his right hand resting easily on Kurosenkou’s hilt, his left pointer finger tracing the sheathe of his spare Asauchi, “perhaps your version of things will be more appealing than that of another associate of yours I’ve spoken with.”

They were here only to talk, huh? Really? Then why was the marching band necessary? "Do you usually bring an army with you when all you want to do is, 'talk'?" Unlike Hidane, Shiori was not quick to lower her reiatsu. While she wasn't planning on just attacking the woman she had no intention lowering her reiatsu, if she was going to drop an army in Shiori's backyard, then Shiori would damn well show she was ready to kill every last one of them. "Where I'm from that's borderline declaring war." By this point in time her left hand was resting on top of the hilt of her zanpakuto.
The eye patched vizard scanned the area trying to count the amount of soldiers around them. Unfortunately she couldn't get an exact number. Either way, both her and Dane could take them on. The problem was the woman in front of them. "Well, if it is talking you're here for, talk." She waited on an answer from the Quincy. She was sure Hidane wasn't going to let his guard down completely, but then again he was stronger than her so he would have a better chance to retaliate at minimum output.
