It was already midnight. The streets were empty, a couple of cars could be seen around on the high-way. So quiet, nothing important happening. Such hours, were the hours hollows came out hunting. Asuka was well aware of that, but that wouldn't stop her. She was determinated. Tonight was the night she'll either go along with her inner self, or try to cast her away completely.
Wearing a pair of black sweatpants, a white T-shirt, black jacket with a hood and a backbag, Asuka made her way shiftly out of Town, at the outskirts. She wanted a quiet and open spot, some plains or a hill. It took her some time before she could find a decent spot out there. It was a field, with a bunch of trees here and there, nothing special. Finding a good spot, below a tree, Asuka placed her backbag on the ground. Inside it had a towel, some home-made snacks, water and a couple of meds, mostly bandages.
Doing some warm ups, some stretching and push-ups, Asuka, after an hour or so, sat down. A yoga kind of stance, resting her arms on her lap and closing her eyes, relaxing. "So, how about coming out and have a little chit-chat here...", she muttered to herself, without opening her eyes. She was sure the one that was meant for would hear it. And, she was sure as well, she would come out. She always had. Her and Asuka, never went along. She popped up in her mind whenever she pleased, messing with her. The worst part was that she was messing with those Asuka was interacting with, that, she couldn't accept. But, she couldn't help it, because that being, was the reason of her very own powers.
"Of course. A little chit-chat is always pleasant. I am bored after all, you are not even trying to amuse me."
That calm and strict voice echoed in Asuka's head. It was so smooth, like hearing your mother's voice, but so murderous. Asuka shivered upon hearing it. She knew that that being inside her was powerful. She couldn't describe it, but sometimes her dreams were moments of her Inner self's past, not hers. She was seeing a family, something Asuka never had. She was seeing fights, blood, murders. She frowned. "I want to talk to you. I want to learn about you, and the reason you reside inside of me, Seya..."
Her head hurt. She lost her stance as she grabbed her head to calm the pain. Though, after a moment, it stopped on its own. "First of all, Lady Seya for you. Or should I say Lady Harada? Don't get ahead of yourself girl. You are several centuries too young and weak to learn about me and my past.". She was so annoying, and frustrating... and Bossy. Asuka couldn't stand her. "Ugh.. Don't you, don't you think, while we both reside in the same body, we should get along with each other, uhm... Lady Harada?". Asuka so wanted to slap herself. She felt disgusted with her own self for trying to go along with Seya's demands.
"You should know by now that I can see through all your thoughts, all your feelings, all your emotions. Don't try to trick me with sweet-talking, it won't work here. But yes, you are right. We should go along, if we want to survive.. - That's what I am t- Shut up. I am talking. I will grand you one wish tonight. One question or anything else comes in your mind that you want from me. You have five minutes to decide."
So many thoughts. So many questions. So many things Asuka could ask from her. And she had to decide on just one. Annoying. She got only five minutes...
Five minutes had already passed. Asuka was quiet, thinking over and over again. She couldn't feel Seya presence in her head. It seemed she was kind enough to leave her alone in her thoughts. "Train me...", she finally said, with a quiet voice. Though she got no answer. She waited a minute or so, before saying it again. "Train me, Lady Seya. I have learnt to get to know others better by fighting, than talking...". Which was partly true, actually. You can understand a lot more for someone's psychosynthesis by clashing with them, reading their movements, their expressions, their emotions through it. And then, she heard a heartful laugh echoing in her head.
"Really? You really want me to train you? Oh, poor girl. You are way too weak for something like that. But we could work on that... Though, I do not guarantee I won't kill you in the proceess."
As Seya was talking in Asuka's mind, Asuka could feel her presence growing stronger and stronger inside of her. She started feeling so weak, so meaningless, comparing to that power she could feel. "I strip you off of all your powers, girl. It is only you, against me. So, let us start with the basics...", and by saying that, vines grew out of the ground, forming a platform beneath Asuka's leg. It started raising, bringing them 20 meters above the ground. Quite a harsh method to train someone, you could say. If by mistake you fall, if not dead, you'll end up crippled. As the platform stopped, a couple of vines grew out, dancing around in a slow motion.
"So, girl. Do you know what are your powers?"
What was that, a quiz training? Asuka was not fond of stuff like that. She prefered actions to talk instead of words. Though, she had no other choise, as it seemed. "Well... As far as I know, they are coming from my Spirit and soul. In a way my soul is somewhat special, allowing it to have special abilities...Ugh! What the hell??", while talking, and replying at Seya's question, one of the vines whipped Asuka on her back. "WRONG! Your powers are the presentative of your Will. Your will to fight, your Will to protect, your Will to Survive. If you do not have that Will, we stop now.". Seya sounded so... Leading and commanding in Asuka's mind. It seemed she had the fonds of be a Trainer. Maybe she have done it in the past, who knows, really. "No, no, I am willing...", Asuka said with a trempling voice. She had to admit it was one of the few times she felt scared, she felt weak and helpless. She couldn't even talk back to that being. She felt another whip on her back, which made her frown from pain. "What is that?? Do you call that Will? Do you call that Potential?? Do YOU call that Will for Survival?!". "YES, I HAVE THE WILL TO SURVIVE!". Asuka's voice echoed throughout the field, and then silence. You could even hear a couple of birds flying away, after her shout.
"Good. We can start. Do you know one of the major ways to survive?"
After a while, Seya asked Asuka. She didn't. And she was scared to say no. She could already feel the vine whipping her back. But she gathered her strength and answered. "No...". By saying it, she frowned, expecting to feel pain soon. But she didn't. "Did not expect you to. Its by moving unseen. And the only way to do that, is to tame your spiritual aura. You see, beings like me, or Hollows, they do not track by scent or Sight, but by feeling your reiatsu. You should learn how to tame it and hide it... Do try it. Focus and try to feel the vibes of your spiritual power inside of you. That is something I could not strip off of you, its within your very being...".
Asuka nodded without talking. She kept her eyes closed and focus. She have done something like this before, in her Martial art training. Focusing and feeling your Inner force, your Chi, etc. She remained quiet. Yes, she could feel something within her. It felt like a river flowing through her body. Warm and unstable. She tried to become one with it, understand its flow and way. "Good", she heard inside her head, as she started becoming more familiar with it.
