Blodeuwen toyed with her face mask. It was uncomfortable- she didn't enjoy wearing it, but while on-duty, and parading around the Gotei 13's barracks and training areas, it was absolutely necessary that she wore it, especially now. Blodeuwen's rank was reflective of an explosive recent growth in recent spellcasting power and capability- and now it seemed that for the sin of improving, she was to be punished. She could barely hold herself steady as she came before the office of Toshiro Hitsugaya, the young white haired captain of the 10th division. He was known as one of the strongest captains, the youngest to achieve Bankai, and icily cold and down-to-business.
The letter in her hand was from some god-forsaken higher power, whatever eldritch force was doling out orders in the Kido Corps since Ryogi had gone missing. She'd read it, having been told to once she was given the delivery order- and read it she had, her stomach knotting tighter and tighter. She had had a bad feeling about it when she was told she was on messenger duty- she was never on messenger duty any more. Inside she had read a request for Captain Hitsugaya to fight her in order to give her some real experience fighting a developed bankai, as well as to test her mettle in the face of a real adversary and real danger. It had been signed by a signature that Blodeuwen herself didn't recognise but looked as though it held a lot of weight behind it, judging by the skill of the calligraphy and nothing more.
And so here she was, officially garbed, essentially asking some dude to beat her ass into the ground. She couldn't exactly say no- she'd been imprisoned by sekkisekki before and had no desire for it to happen again. Maybe he'd go easy on her but she doubted it- from what she'd heard of him, he'd beat her in exactly the time it took for her to learn and see what she needed, and then dismiss her.
"Captain Hitsugaya-dono?" she asked, still after all these years unsure of how to announce her presence as you couldn't exactly knock on paper doors.

Toshiro Hitsugaya, captain of the tenth squad, sat inside of his office as he was found most of the time, though he tried as best he could to keep out of there. He had secluded himself in his office away from most anyone except his squad for quite some time now and it had only be just recently that he had come to the realization that this might not be the best of life styles. His day had been rather boring though up to this point and it had become increasingly difficult to remain in the office alone, since as usually Rangiku was off gallivanting around doing whatever it was she wanted, despite the work that should be and needed done.
I should go do something productive; all this paper work is going to be the death of me. Half of it is just expenditures reports that need approving. I could be training or doing anything, being stuck in this prison of an office twenty-four seven is unbearable sometimes. Definitely not one of the things that comes to mind when you consider becoming a captain…the paperwork.
A voice came from just outside of his office suddenly, it was feminine and the tone was one of uncertainty or needing help. Clearly whoever it was wanted him for some reason; though to the best of his memories he couldn’t think of a reason as to why someone would be coming to his office today. It wasn’t someone in his squad, or at least he didn’t recognize the voice, but there were so many members of his squad it easily could have been a new recruit.
“Yes? Come in.” Toshiro said calmly, intrigued to see who had come to visit him.

"Captain sir Hitsugaya-dono captain sir." she bumbled as she opened the screen door and bowed deeply, her hair brushing against the floor before she straightened herself up and promptly fell arse over tit over the threshold, and smacked her face on the floor. So much for good first impressions god damn it- she cursed vividly internally, letting out only the most timid of swears in her mother tongue, which would presumably be unintelligible at best to Toshiro or would give him the impression that she were choking, at worst. Blod leapt to her feet, and brushed herself off profusely, her face beetroot red and her movements erratic. She bowed again before remembering she'd already done that, and flushing more. She wasn't sure why she was so nervous. She'd forgotten that he was so small, as well, and wasn't exactly sure if she should just look straight down at him or crouch or what... She decided to simply stand and not try anything outlandish unless he asked.
"I, uhm, have this letter for you." she said before presenting it to him, and playing with her hair awkwardly. She was never usually this shy, but she couldn't help it. He was so cute! But also he'd probably be wrecking her within half an hour which seemed to make things worse, not better. "My name is Blodeuwen Ab Mabon, of Hirashi House- it's a pleasure to meet you." she said, inclining her head respectfully.
She stood now, her hands clasped behind her back, her face still hidden by her mask but her hair mostly having been dislodged from behind the headdress she was required to wear. She refrained from fidgeting, and breathed deeply to calm herself down and the flush vanished as her usually sunny face became stoic and cold, eyes gazing into the middle distance. Blod was determined to hold her own and prove herself in the upcoming battle, on a professional level, even if she came across as a ditzy clutz in a personal sense. She was good at what she did, that was certain.

Could she be any more nervous than she is? I would highly doubt it, just her speech alone shows how intimidated she is by me, and she hasn’t even ever met me. Is the title of Captain that precedes my name, truly enough to cause someone such fear? At least get to know me and my skills before acting like this…
Toshiro’s thoughts trailed off as the shinigami proceeded forward, though promptly stopping with a quick fall to the ground. Toshiro had apparently been rather accurate with his initial assessment of the girl being nervous, as demonstrated by her falling over herself face first into the ground from a standing position. This of course was followed by the normal reactions of someone in that position, frustration, though it was hard if at all to decipher what the shinigami was saying, if it were words she was saying at all, it was unusual and hadn’t been heard by Toshiro before, definitely something interesting to note.
Again the shinigami bowed, flustered and nervous, and getting more so as this already brief meeting between the two continued on. It was clear that she must be a part of the Kidou Corp. from the way she was dressed, the mask said it all, and they were after all the only ones to dawn such a thing compared to the rest of the Gotei 13. It made it extremely easy to point them out, but also made it hard to determine from person to person who you had talked to of course unless they gave you a their name.
Toshiro stood up calmly and collectively, taking the letter slowly from the shinigami’s hand as she extended it out to him. He read it over as the shinigami continued to talk making her introductions. The letter itself was simple and to the point. It was a request for a duel from the captain to the shinigami that stood before him now. Apparently the Kidou Corp wanted him to test one of their students, make sure she could truly stand her own when up against an opponent with different skill sets then their own. Logically it all made sense, there was nothing Toshiro noted that was out of place with the request as often times between the divisions various captains wanted their members to experience new abilities and skills in order to better prepare themselves for what they might encounter out in the field as it were.
Toshiro, having read the letter fully, looked up at the shinigami in front of him; something he was accustom to doing do to his decreased size.
“Have you read this letter already? Do you know and understand what it all entails?” Toshiro said, his voice calm yet cold and distant. When it came to matters of business, as this was, Toshiro’s voice had seemed to develop this tone. His eyes a piercing blue, staring into Blod’s own eyes as though he wanted to see what her reactions would be, as though he was reading her every moment now already.
She must be at least a promising student if the Kidou Corp want her to fight another member of the Gotei 13, though the name I don’t think I’ve heard before. Nothing of notable value that I can think of, but then again sometimes the Kidou Corp seems like its own distant organization outside the Gotei 13…which isn’t always the best of situations…

Cussing in Welsh was something Blodeuwen was well versed in; it was a perfect opportunity to get one over on her superiors who would undoubtedly get her into a lot of trouble if they heard her swearing like a sailor. Having said that, not many in the kidoshu were still her superiors, and so she could often get away with things. As Hitsugaya took her letter, she removed her face veil- hopefully he wouldn't be anal about it, as she wouldn't be able to fight in the thing anyway. Her nerves continued to build as he read the letter, but she kept herself in check with incredibly deep breathing, and secretly practicing accordion scales on an imaginary instrument behind her back.
Eventually he was done reading, and she looked at him levelly, her face now pale save for the slight pink upon the tip of her nose and cheeks- battle-mode-Blod was engaged and she would not let herself get psyched out. She was prepared for his question- she'd been given this kind of self-referential mission before, she recalled the time with Lyn's daughter, the young Miss Konge- she deigned not to think about that lest she become embarrassed and have her nerves return. Her point was that of course she knew what it entailed, even if she herself had not written that particular letter before.
"I am aware of its contents, Hitsugaya Taichou." she replied, returning his icy gaze with her own twinkling ocean-blue one. She puffed up her chest, before exhaling sharply and smiling at him. "Despite the seriousness of this briefing I am looking forward to learning from you, Captain-san." despite all that had happened, Blod had settled back into her usual demure, beaming self. While she was still nervous she had an extra edge in combat in that she had no self-deferentialism any more, not since her bankai trial, where it had been eaten and killed off forever, along with some other aspects of her soul which she did in fact miss more dearly.
Without a further word, Blod flash stepped away to the training grounds of the tenth, before performing several stretches, keen to start. She had removed her hood and mask in its entirety now, so that her whole head of golden hair was visible. She unsheathed Cariad, and stuck the blade in the ground hap-hazardly, as she placed her hands upon her hips and waited for Captain Hitsugaya. When he arrived, she would ask him a question;
"C-Captain Hitsugaya Senpai, are there any particular rules- apart from, obviously, avoiding death blows, that you would like to adhere to?"she asked, still smiling, her nerves returned ever so slightly.

“As long as you are aware then I see no issues with this request.” Toshiro said calmly, his tone remaining the same, icy and cold a distance to it only seeming even more harsh then normal when compared to Blod’s demeanor.
Toshiro nodded at Blod’s last remark, how she wanted to learn something from him and within a few moments she was gone, headed most likely to the nearest training ground, that being the tenth’s, though it would have been nice if she had announced where she was headed, so that maybe he didn’t have to make assumptions. Toshiro was the youngest of all the captains, but it didn’t mean that he was the most ignorant of basic social conduct.
Toshiro slowly got up from his desk, not taking the quick flash step, rushed approach that his future opponent did. It made it seem as though she was eager to get the spar under way, eager to fight the captain. The hopeful scenario would be that it was her nerves getting the best of her, making her want to start this before she had second thoughts, because if it wasn’t that, Toshiro had hoped no one would ever be so anxious for a fight, even sparring, though a good training practice should never be anticipated and accepted with such quickness and excitement. It was tough seeing so many shinigami now-a-days excited to get into battle, excited to kill, that was no kind of mindset people should be having.
Toshiro had breached the doors leading out to the training grounds for his squad, and there amongst all of it there stood the young, well young in appearance, girl that minutes ago had been in his office. For her, having left the office at the speed she had, it must have been minutes before he had arrived, most likely more than enough time for her to prepare however she felt it necessary.
“Rules? The only rules that we will apply by are those that restrict us by Gotei 13 law, namely we will not go above shikai release, fight as though you want to win with all you have.” Toshiro said calmly.
“Also words of advice, play to your strengths, but even more so guard your weaknesses.”
Toshiro stood in front of Blod, roughly ten meters away, his zanpaktou drawn from its normal resting spot in the scabbard on his back.
“Now, my name is Toshiro Hitsugaya, Captain of the Tenth Squad, and your spar begins now.” Toshiro said his blade pointed out towards the shinigami in front of him.

He did not arrive straight away- that perturbed her at first but she supposed that she had been a little hasty, and didn't let it bother her, despite the fact that her stomach felt tumultuous. It was as if her body couldn't decide if she was nervous or calm, her mind like a shore, riding a crashing breaker before sedately slithering back to its former peace for a mere few seconds before the next wave came and threw her into disorder once more. This was not a good mindset to have a fight in, she considered. She went over several incantations- not that she actually needed them, but it was a good way to focus her mind- before finishing her stretches, about the time that the short captain arrived.
"Right." she responded- of course, the Gotei 13 forbade the usage of a shinigami's Bankai within the Seireitei. The Kidoshu had developed special training grounds and techniques in order to cope with the enormous torrents of energy that were released during bankai, which was how Blodeuwen had trained hers as much as she had. That wouldn't be too hard- her Bankai was usable now at least but she was definitely not a master of her sword's final release such as Captain Hitsugaya... Which might just work in her favour. She wasn't sure though, for he seemed incredibly strong, bankai or none.
"Thank you." she told him at his advice, before narrowing her eyes and taking a deep breath. She paced forwards, and hefted Cariad out of the soil, bouncing the large greatsword from one hand to another, getting to grips with the hilt in a kind of playful way. Toshiro pointed his zanpakuto at her, and proclaimed the combat open, at which point Blod sniffed, and instantly entered a step without a further comment. Sunny and pacifistic in normal life, living to serve the souls she was sworn to protect, and make friends and eat ice cream- Blod's sudden transformation upon entering a fight was somewhat scary to behold. Her nerves still wracking her body, her face became disinterested and zenlike- this was perhaps the most radical of her transformations since attaining her bankai, and killing various aspects of her own soul in the doing.
Regardless, Blodeuwen would exit her step to Hitsugaya's left, the opposite side of his sword arm, and deliver a swift uppercut, her shihakusho flapping with the rapid movement. She anticipated that her strike would be intercepted- if it were, she would try again with a swift horizontal chop, sweeping from the left to the right, a look of determination in her face, which was now as icy as the Taicho's.

Toshiro watched as quickly the shinigami in front of him wasted no time in starting their little duel, starting into a step and promptly disappearing. However, she was not gone for long as she reappeared to the left of Toshiro; opposite his dominate hand, a wise move.
It was clear as Blod had exited out of her step that the entire atmosphere of the fight had changed following the transformation of Blod herself. She had become more serious and determined; her face seemed to say it all. Whatever she held as her own personal goals seemed to fuel this emotional and physical change in her. It was good to see, or at least what seemed to be, a shinigami who had planned on not holding back, who realized that it would take all she had in order to win this fight as out classed as she may be.
Toshiro watched as Blod having exited her step, thrusting her fist upwards in the attempts of successfully landing an uppercut on him. She was quick, just not quick enough for a head on attack like that, however she was smart, that much was for sure; she instinctively saw which hand was his dominant and attacked. An eye for detail always good to see amongst any shinigami, something that Toshiro himself was proud to say he had.
“Hado number one, Sho.” Toshiro shouted quickly as he jumped backwards a few meters in order to clear himself from Blod and her oncoming attack. This was certainly is going to be an interesting spar.
However, the thing that had surprised Toshiro the most was that a member of the Kidoshu, specialist of Kido would first attack without using their specialty. It was intriguing; did she have a plan with that? Did she expect to confuse him, try and surprise him? Whatever it was it was clearer that each step was going to need to be a calculated one.
As Toshiro’s feet landed back on the ground a few feet away, he watched the shinigami, planning on his next move. Would he take the offensive with her, or would it be better to simply allow her to think she had the best of him? She was determined that was for sure, but would she get carried away at thinking she had him “on the ropes” as it were.
Strategy and understanding your opponent were two essential means of besting them in a fight. It’s more important that a shinigami while fighting their opponent is able to pick up on these things, and is able to use them to their advantage.
Toshiro swung his zanpakuto releasing large beam like arcs, roughly three of them of spiritual energy towards Blod from the left, down the center, and the right of himself all headed towards her planning on impact, to keep her on her toes as it were.

She was currently ambivalent to Hitsugaya's feelings and emotions and other things which she usually picked up on intuitively and empathically, perhaps more so than people usually did. Instead, she scanned his face for any hint of surprise, any chink in his psychological armour which she could worm her way into and exploit. His shout seemed to be an indication that he was surpised- Blodeuwen would not usually consider it a smart move to announce so clearly what spell one was casting to one of Soul Society's most proficient spellcasters. Though perhaps he was confident enough that he didn't care. Either way, she danced backwards, not allowing her balance to be disrupted by the spell which she was all too familiar with- instead using its momentum to allow her to land braced some 30m away from Hitsugaya.
She glared at him momentarily, her usually oceanic eyes frozen and dead. He was fast, and he had a strategy for everything- the youngest captain, always the most prepared and in-the-know. Toshiro would know what to do no matter what she threw at him, the only thing she could hope to do was keep plugging away until she found a place she could take acceptable risks. It was still too early in the game to tell thus far.
"Bakudo 26, Kyokko." she cast, her visual and reiatsu images disappearing as she flash stepped forward and to the right, preemptively and invisibly spinning through the gap afforded to her before the kenatsu converged upon one another. Her breath held, she continued to dash through the air until she was a mere ten meters from Toshiro, upwards and to his right, totally invisible. There she would wait for a response, preparing to respond aggressively or defensively, her face still deadpan and flat.

Toshiro watched as Blod dodged the counter attack he had performed, not that it was a surprise. It was a low level Kido that he had announced allowed, her being in the Kido Corp., would only mean she was well versed with such small techniques. All the same it provided the distance between them, for a moment at least.
Her eyes were like his now, no longer were they full of energy and joy like they had been in his office. They had taken a different appearance, she was now focused on this fight, her eyes were a frozen blue, and her mood even represented the serious atmosphere that the training grounds seemed to emanate currently. It was only a matter of seconds before he was sure Blod would make another move, it was only the most logical. She was outranked in this fight, so logically the only outcome would to be press him until she was able to keep him off guard, she was clearly knowledgeable and well versed in various forms of fighting, however chances were like most shinigami she would sooner or later default back to what she found most comfortable, what she found easiest to use and what she had the most experience with, and soon enough his suspicions were confirmed.
Blod had, softly spoken, the incantation for Bakudo 26. Toshiro himself was familiar with the technique and watched as she disappeared not only was the disappearance physical it was spiritual as well. All traces of her were gone now, his kenatsu collided with one another converging on Blod’s former position, and it was easy to say that at this point she had dodged the attack and proceeded on with what would most likely be her counter attack.
Toshiro quickly thought through his strategy as to what he planned on doing to react. The almost constant battles of recent times had made his ability to think on his feet even more reactive then it had been. There was a downfall of the technique that Blod was using however, if she wished to launch another attack, assuming it was not purely physical she would end up breaking the veil she currently hid under. That technique was perfect for spying and for surprise attacks; however its inability to hold when launching another attack surely was its weak point.
Toshiro quickly shunpo’d away, retreating as it were to behind him before, quickly changing directions, serpenting as it were. Currently there was little he could do with Blod being hidden like this, he could continue to move, hoping that soon enough she would expose herself, or until he was confident that a counter-attack would effectively do something. For now though he moved, concentrating on what to do next, what to do when the time came to act.

Blod knew the drawbacks of what she had decided to do- and realized that she was essentially stalling as she zipped after Hitsugaya, with him none the wiser as to her location, timing her steps with his so that her presence was all but invisible to the ear. She had stepped under the effects of Kyokko enough times to know that sound was the one downfall but there were ways to mitigate it, such as timing her entry and exit from shunpo to match Hitsugayas, and to step just a few feet above the ground.
As she followed, she shouted out with incredible vigor, her voice carrying strongly as she watched Toshiro and gripped Cariad with desperate firmness; she was deceptively close to him, making sure to keep up despite her zig-zagging. She decided that if she didn't act quickly, she'd give him an opening to try something, which she didn't want.
"Bakudo 79!" she said, in between steps, Hitsugaya firmly within her sights. "Kuyou Shibari!" she said, watching as eight black holes formed around him, their pull incredibly strong, the air around them warping as they sucked in matter, a terrible howling noise accompanying their presence, with Toshiro right at the centre. She had seldom seen anyone escape from such a strong binding kido before. "Bakudo 29, Tharan!" she then proceeded to call, as a quick defence in case something went wrong.
Should Toshiro be hit by the bind, Blodeuwen would waste no time in stepping rapidly towards him, all the while maintaining a distance of 5 meters- just beyond sword-point- and casting hado 54, Haien. That would hurt a lot if it landed, likely to wound him harshly. Otherwise she would wait, Cariad at the ready in case an assault came her way.
Post by Toshiro Hitsugaya on Jul 17, 2015 18:39:04 GMT
Toshiro could sense the kidousho member as the two of them seemed to zip in and out of their stepping like some kind of odd dance. He was unable to fully follow where she was with pin point accuracy, since in this case he was the one being followed, but as a general location he knew that she was close behind to him. Blod seemed to be able to adapt quickly to situations, her mind following some kind of unknow progression as though she had planned this all meticulously and was just following a script, however Toshiro knew that was not the case and that she was truly at a level that she was easily able to on the fly adjust to different circumstances. Although he had known little about her, it was clear that Blod had trained hard towards someone unknown goals, most likely becoming stronger being one of the few checkpoints to achieving that.
‘Bakudo 79, Kuyou Shibari’
Toshiro knew the bakudo, it was a tricky one that was almost unavoidable. As he thought this the black holes started to already form, eight in total surrounding him with a final one situated in the middle of his chest. As the binding started to take effect Toshiro brought his blade up to his chest, he knew if anything this technique would be followed up by another in this debilitated stae. There wasn’t much that could be done at this point other than to try and break free of the bind. It was more difficult than he had anticipated it would be to break, clearly Blod had progressed extremely far in her studies and was not afraid to let loose with all she had in this battle, not at all a sense of daunting from fighting a captain.
Toshiro watched as Blod began her incantation to another kido, one he had never heard of, the sense of not knowing promptly made Toshiro go on the defensive, as a large shield of condensed reiatsu formed across his body, centered on his Zanpakuto. As the shield formed yet another exciting turn of events occurred and Blod dashed forward, stopping just out of length of his sword, launching another kido, as a large flame shot forward hitting across his shield that had been brought up just before impact. The flames dispersed, only causing small singes to his clothing as the flames and heat rushed past.
His movements had not fully return yet and the black holes surrounding him still resided, but surely enough his movement was coming back as he forced more reiatsu out against the pull of the bakudo. It was like moving in a pool of molasses right now, movements were entirely possible, but very difficult and slow. For now it looked like he would have to use the kido that this shinigami so excelled at to give himself time to recover from this binding, until his movement had returned.
“Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance. Upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws!” Toshiro quickly shouted just as the flames subsided and his shield dispersed. A large beam of blue fire shot out from Toshiro towards Blod, hoping to catch her off guard. Although it was not a particularly strong kido, this was only to delay and disorient for now, it was more of a tactic then an offensive move. However as soon as this bakudo wore off it was clear Toshiro could not go easy on the shinigami in front of him anymore.

The captain was unreadable, and Blod had to slightly curb her frustration which would ordinarily be a blip upon her usually widely varying emotional map, but now any perturbation was mammoth compared to the dead flatness. She could easily see why he'd been promoted so young, though- his strategy and quick-thinking skills were on point- Blod saw with blank eyes that he had managed to block her kido with a quickly prepared enkosen of his own, and she instantly flickered out of the range where Toshiro could see her.
She knew that he would not be held long by her bakudo, and so she stepped behind him, as soon as her kido went off, sword at the ready, quickly swiping across the captain's back while he read his incantation out. She considered the fact that it could have been a trap - him reading out the incantation for such a low-numbered kido, but felt that she was well-protected if she needed to be. She secretly observed the wiseness of her decision to step - seeing the sokatsui shooting off right in the direction she had been standing in. She'd recognised the incant and this had been by far the best way to simply get out of the way.
She readied another sword blow, body tightly wound like a spring in case of a counter attack she would need to parry.

Even before Toshiro had finished his incantation shooting off the kido Blod had vanished from his view. It however was too late to re-aim or even cancel the kido. It was a bother, but certainly one Toshiro had encounter numerous times before in his relatively short career as captains. These exact scenarios were the outmost reason a shinigami needed to be able to adapt at a moment’s notice in battle.
It was a kido, he couldn’t be surprised that a member of the Kidoshu would be well versed in almost all, if not all of the kido from incant. The hardest position for Toshiro, had he been able to readjust before firing the kido would be behind him, it was the most likely spot for an attack to occur and as his incantation finished the quick spike of reiatsu issuing the reappearance of Blod could be sensed do to Toshiro’s precognitive intuition, he quickly threw up another shield of condensed reiatsu the blade hitting off of the shield twice as Blod had almost been able to land a strike on him.
Toshiro finally being able to move jumped forward, disappearing with a quick shunpo, reappearing a few meters up into the air roughly ten meters from Blod. He needed a second to get his barring, having previously been restricted for a moment with lots of movements from Blod. The battlefield needed to be reassessed as any good fighter knew after such a quick succession of movements had occurred.
It took Toshiro only a moment to see the area’s layout before he fully assessed the situation and shunpo’d again disappearing from sight for a moment. His next move would need to be quick and planned if he had hoped to catch the young kidoshu member off guard.
“Drink from the overflowing cup! Sate your thirst on the cursed wine of the gods, and blanket yourself in white funeral chrysanthemums!” Toshiro would shout as he began his approach, zig-zagging left and right as he reappeared out of shunpos headed towards Blod.
Large whit circles formed above Blod and his own head as pink petals swiftly drifted down from the sky towards the ground.
Undetectable they would fall until they hit a surface, including Blod herself if she was unable to quickly get out of its large range. That is when they did their job the petals would begin to weigh down the opponent each petal having the equivalent feeling of 100 kilograms each, as the petals had begun Toshiro had reached his oppnent’s location, to the right side of her crouched down, a swing of his zanpakutou coming right for Blod’s mid-section. It would be simple for Blod to block with her zanpakutou, however that was just what Toshiro was hoping, preparing to unleash another kido if she did, sending an electrical charge through his own zanpakutou and hers as well, or anything that created a bridge between them. The kido was not an extremely impressive one, but surely enough to catch the shinigami off guard with the combination provided she blocked the attack in the anticipated manner.

She exhaled through her nose as her strikes bounced off, anticipating the second at least would shatter his arc shield. She lashed out violently for a third, hoping to get the captain, but he deftly flash stepped away as Blod dispelled her kido. She remained blank faced, her eyes scanning upwards to where she felt his reiatsu. She readied herself for an attack before he once again disappeared. She took a deep breath; this would probably be bad, she had no idea what he'd be planning. She decided to play it safe; running away would be the optimum solution here; the kido Toshiro was preparing with his incantation was one that ran too many risks for her.
She wasted no time; "Hado 32, Bakudo 10, Okasen, Kōmori Yoriyomi!" she said, quickly rushing through the names of the kido such that as Toshiro rushed towards her, she was able to release her Okasen directly above her. The kido would deal with the vast majority of the petals, cutting a vast swathe overhead for her to execute the next part of her getaway. The white hole she opened beneath her, as opposed to above her; she had been able to pinpoint Toshiro's location now and cast one final kido before she sank through the hole.
"Bakudo 14: Hibiku!" she cried as he approached her, ready to slash. The dome erupted around her beautifully quickly- she loved Hibiku for its execution speed alone, the knockback effect keeping her safe as Toshiro had been flying right into it. She shot away, re-materializing 50 meters away up in the air. She'd left her execution to the last minute, her timing absolutely perfect so that hopefully Toshiro would be caught off guard. She had concealed her reiatsu when she'd re-appeared, to buy her vital seconds before she uttered the dangerous and game-changing phrase...
Name: Kōmori Yoriyomi (Bat Out of Hell) ** Number: 10 Tier: II Type: Bakudō Range: Long Incantation: Guardian of the sky, I seek sanctuary! Description: A white hole appears above the caster, who jumps through it. The circle shoots across the sky at amazing speed, of which even Shunpo would have a hard time of keeping up with, transporting them to a safer place, but can go no further than a 10 mile radius.
Name: Hibiku (Resound) ** Number: 14 Tier: II Type: Bakudō Range: Short Incantation: Three chimes, rattling bones, the savage Raijin lets loose his fearsome roar! Description: Releases a pulse of electricity in the shape of a dome that extends to a five meter diameter, pushing back and electrocuting all who are struck. The execution speed of this Bakudō is among the fastest of all Kidō.
Name: Tharan Number: 29 Tier: III Type: Bakudo Range: Self Incantation: N/A Description: The user's body is coated in a deep blue glow, which pulses slightly. This provides the user protection from all attacks in tier II or equivalent. The shield breaks when damaged by the equivalent of a tier III attack. Otherwise it is dispelled after 5 posting rotations.
Name: Ōkasen (黄火閃, Yellow Fire Flash) * Number: 32 Tier: III Type: Hadō Range: Long Incantation: N/A Description: Fires a wide arc of yellow energy at a target
name: Cariad yr Blodeuyn type: Passive range: Medium (50m) tier: I description: Blodeuwen's reiatsu has an intensely attractive aura, making those around her drawn to her almost magnetically. This is a psychological pull, and therefore may be resisted, but the longer one is around her, the more her reiatsu affects those around her. (RP-only, no mechanical effect)
More practically, this makes any form of telepathy, or telepathic (or other non-physical, non-verbal) communication impossible as Blodeuwen's aura is so intensely infatuating- she becomes the subject and recipient of all forms of telepathic communication and command. This is true whether the communication is achieved through spiritual means, technological means, or though some other means (such as ki). This cannot stop someone communicating with their zanpakuto spirit, or a bount from communicating with their doll, as they are parts of the same soul, however zanpakuto which are telepathically controlled are unable to be controlled in this manner.
Furthermore, anyone affected by her aura for more than 5 posts is unable to leave instantaneously- through use of stepping or a technique, and must instead stop at the boundary of her aura, and take a single step outside.

Damn it…
That was all Toshiro had time to think as the dome of electricity spread out at him at an extrodinary speed. Toshiro knew the kido, but knowing it and being able to react to it were two completely different things. His kido would have no effect, not being able to come into contact with Blod as he had anticipated instead being met with the electric dome of Bakudo number fourteen as he watched Blod disappear.
The captain flew back a few meters having had the surge of electricity run through him, although it wasn’t the most potent of kido, Toshiro could only assume that was all to plan. Blod had the ability to use strong kido if she wanted, that had already been made clear, that being said this was clearly a quickly planned and timed maneuver to allow her to disappear out of sight while at the same time giving Toshiro virtually no time to react, she was by far an intelligent and well thought out on each move she made, a quality that Toshiro himself prided himself on and as such respected greatly in others that seemed to posses the trait.
Toshiro looked around quickly; it had seemed that Blod was nowhere to be found on the surface anymore at least nowhere that was visible. One of the worse things you could do in battle is lose track of your opponent, although this was a spar and the chances for death were not as high, it was still a problem, being unprepared and being caught off guard both can be utter death sentences depending on the opponent.
Suddenly the reiatsu burst appeared it was above him, everything happened so quickly, as it often did in battle, that it had been too late to locate her until this time. The chances were she either had been holding back a large portion of her power until this moment, but provided the large amount of varying kido she had preformed and with such ease it would seem unlikely that this was the case. The other option was that Blod had found herself forced into releasing her Zanpakutou a measure that would indicate an even more furious battle was about to rage on. Release states were so unpredictable and of such ranging varieties, so much so that predicted them from the blue was almost impossible, the only indicator that often times helped was the squad in which the individual was located and their fighting style in general, though there were exception often time people adapted to their stronger abilities, revolving their entire style of fighting around them. That being said, all Toshiro could assume was that Blod’s shikai-state would only reinforce her Kido abilities, but to what degree and how were almost impossible to say. Toshiro looked up into the sky, barely being able to see Blod, as he shunpo’d above to get closer, while at the same making sure to remain cautious and not close the gap between them too much.

Blodeuwen held her breath as the three orbs floated around her gently. They were like perfectly smooth lumps of coal, polished down to orange size. They gyrated about her in different planes of rotation, one horizontal relative to her, another vertically, passing in front of her every so often, and another circling around her. They moved with slightly different angular frequency, their patterns undulating out of phase. Blodeuwen controlled each individually and it was second-nature for her now to control each of the three with such thoughtless ease despite the complex manouvres they pulled. She looked down and watched blankly- she assumed Toshiro had been hit by the Hibiku. He was a tough opponent but she'd successfully managed to pull off her previous move, which the part of her that was watching this external conflict was very proud of. External Blod remained icy, however.
He floundered for several more moments as she decided upon her plan- yes, she knew exactly what to do. She sighed to herself, pleased that she had taken the time and effort into learning so many kido- it was possible to continue to be flexible this way. He shunpo'd up closer to her. She'd been applying her reiatsu for a while now; she wondered if Toshiro's mind was yet overcome with the same attraction to her that others noted often, as her reiatsu was considered by many to be infatuating. He hadn't released yet- she wasn't exactly sure what he meant by that, but she figured that he would do it when his time came. Unlike her, he knew nothing about his release, and so she would try and press that advantage.
She shot her orbs forward, travelling at soukatsui speed, one slightly behind another. Assuming Hitsugaya managed to defend against the first one the second and third would be upon him rapidly. The first one, even as it bounced off, from having landed a successful hit, or from being deflected, would double back in a short arc, the three pummelling at him from all directions much in the manner of a fist. It was a harsh and brutal assault, one which would require much effort to continuously stave off. Blod was able to diconnect herself from it while she focused very intently on Toshiro's movements and his reiatsu, fully prepared for any counter-assault he might launch.

Suddenly Blod was in sight and as Toshiro expected her appearance had changed in a way, her zanpaktou was nowhere to found, however the new appearance of three floating orbs were clearer than day and they were shooting off towards him at incredible speeds, equivalent to that of some of the fastest kido. Toshiro only had moments to react before the orbs would be one him; these were the negatives of being a captain though, even if Toshiro in order to gain more power and match the same release level of his opponent there was the possibility of knowledge working against him. People often spoke of many of the captains’ skills meaning chances were given how skilled and most likely long Blod had been in the kidoshou she more than likely knew at least a few of his skills and techniques as well. Toshiro however, did not have the luxury.
Despite how much he wanted to wait the situation seemed to only be escalating further with each step at this rate depending on what these orbs were capable of doing and Blod being in her shikai state Toshiro would be overrun. Quickly he did what he had to and released into his shikai state as he swung at the first orb deflecting it, a huge burst of reiatsu filling the air as he did so. The second and third orb came flying towards Toshiro he was only quickly able to shunpo away, but not quick enough being grazed by the second orb across his shoulder and luckily barely avoiding the third orb completely. The pain was minimal equivalent to a rough punch or strike to the shoulder, more uncomfortable then Toshiro would have liked, but not enough to put him down by a long shot.
The clouds above had begun to darken as Toshiro released into his shikai state as was usual. The sounds of thunder could be heard from all around. It was a mere test of the immense spiritual pressure that Toshiro controlled, especially when he was in soul society not being hindered by the limiter seal as he often found himself in the human world.
Toshiro was not one to have luck on his side, often times finding himself in battle take hit after hit from his enemies. It was necessary sometimes though, in order to come up with a good plan it took time, and sometimes time was not a necessity that one had without sacrifice. It also worked well in catching the enemy off guard playing the weaker of the combatants, though that was unlikely to be a useable strategy in his situation.
Strategy seemed to be tough though, his mind was clouded, but what he was unable to pin-point exactly what it was, an illusion maybe? His mind was fixated on Blod more so then on the strategy to defeat her, he tried the best that he could to suppress it and for the most part it was easy enough to do, however it was like an annoying tapping in his mind constantly trying to push to the front.
By this short time of thought the orbs had circled back around coming in to impact Toshiro again, however this time Toshiro was prepared, swinging his blade releasing a large Chinese dragon of ice with bright red eyes that flew through the air towards the orbs with the intent of freezing them in their place. Toshiro knew already with how these orbs were reacting they must be being controlled by Blod in some manner, and a key to victory would be to sealing away the movement of these orbs. To continuously fight off all three constantly would be a never ending game, going on and on until a mistake was made.

A brisk chill pervaded Blodeuwen's clothes, as she felt the searingly cold energy of Toshiro's release erupt from him, the stream of ice come from his sword, as he swung at her orbs. The roaring thunder rattled Blodeuwen's bones, and she now began to understand the terror of facing even a captain's shikai release. Hitsugaya was not placed under a limiter here; Blodeuwen would be fighting against the full extent of his power. Luckily she would not have to fight Daiguren Hyourinmaru, as given the incomplete form of her bankai, there is no way should ever be able to win such an encounter.
Her face remained stony as he deflected her orbs, before she felt the impact of one of them on his shoulder. She wasn't sure how she felt about him taking the hit. Was it deliberate? Did she really manage to get one past her? She didn't let that uncertainty affect her, however; Blod had lost her uncertainty and the other factors that were holding her back just as she had lost her most child-like bubbly self when those parts of her had been killed.
It was then that he reacted; the dragon exploding from the tip of his sword- Blod reacted fast. A single orb dropped at ridiculous speed, managing to completely avoid the attack; while the other two were caught inside the dragon. Blod thought quickly, however; "Hado eleven!" she shouted as the orbs became frozen, still touching the dragon. The orbs themselves became electrified, and that electricity shot up the body of the ice towards Hitsugaya at lightning speed; aiming to electrify him via his own weapon, as her remaining orb flew back to her.
She dispelled her defensive kido, Tharan; before re-casting it quickly while he would be pre-occupied- it had waned slightly and she'd rather have it with her dependably. A plan was forming in her head that would cause serious troubles for Toshiro were she able to pull it off successfully; she had intuition and forethought on her side and it might just have been possible. She just needed to wait a little longer...

Toshiro watched as though it was in a flash the first of the orbs narrowly missed the dragon of ice he had launched towards them, though he had been successful in hitting the following two incasing them within the dragon itself, frozen solid. However there is where Toshiro made his mistake, whether it was planned prior or spectacular improvising Toshiro did not know, but suddenly Blod had shouted out the very same kido he had used prior, knowing what it was Toshiro expected a blade, or some kind of weapon to come towards him, but to much of his surprise this was not the case. Instead from within the ice the orbs he had just frozen surged with electricity, traveling down the still connected dragon. It was a fast, almost instantaneous kido and the sheer surprise from how it was produced made it impossible for Toshiro to dodge.
The electricity surged through his body, it was an uncomfortable feeling there was no doubt about it, but not enough to even damage the captain in a large way. Quickly Toshiro turned to face Blod, who was roughly in the same position she initially was, it would seem that her orbs were more than a mere weapon for distracting opponents. Somehow the kidoshu member was able to channel her techniques through these orbs using them like an extension of her own body. This certainly was going to be an interesting battle and Toshiro was sure that those orbs had more abilities he was sure to find out about, but for now at least he only had to worry about one of them, definitely a load off of his shoulders.
Toshiro shunpo’d forward, it was clear the female had brought back her first orb as it rested along her side. The mere fact that she did not immediately launch it on the offensive certainly threw up flags in Toshiro’s mind and with the skill in planning that this shinigami seemed to posses, it was no surprise she had deviated a plan.
Quickly stepping out of his shunpo, Toshiro swung his blade sending a large blast of energy out and towards Blod, who at this point was a mere 30 meters away. As the blast of energy shot of Toshiro again burst into his shunpo. Quickly he used his strong control on the weather as the dark clouds above began to rain down flakes of snow quickly picking up into a blizzard like condition. The field slowly becoming obscured for all those involved. If Blod was going to go all out surely she wanted to be met with a challenge.
Toshiro exited his second shunpo, now to Blod’s left as he swung his blade down diagonally from shoulder to midsection. He had hoped the kenatsu as a distraction piled on top of the snow storm would have caught the young shinigami off guard, however it seemed that she was no simple opponent and was well prepared for the many various wrenches that could be thrown into one’s plans.
