Blod took a deep breath and held it for a moment. Before her, in a small notebook that she had been preparing secretly for months, were extensive notes on reiatsu and hollow reiatsu. She had studied her own reiatsu, its amplitude and feel, for months; she had exerted herself and had observe something that had finally started to come to fruition. The reiatsu that Llew had left embedded inside her had only now dissolved and had started to combine with her soul- she could feel her inner hollow forming very rapidly. Much longer, and she would become a visored.
There was no way she would ever be able to justify this to her superiors- she knew that for certain. So, fearful for her rank and her life, she had developed a kido- that was what she did best. She sat with her notes before her. She had examined her own soul- and souls in general; and had calculated how she could condense her hollow part to a minimum, a kind of stub within her soul, and entrench and keep it there. She had the kido at the ready and examined her pale hands. They were shaking. If this went wrong, there would be dire consequences.

Nameless, incantationless, Blodeuwen formed the kido merely from the will within her soul and exerted her reiatsu as she felt her reiryoku draining slightly, the bind being applied to her inner self. She felt a slight struggle as her hollow part rebelled however it was not yet fully formed; she was able to fight against it. Even if it became a true inner hollow now, it would be contained. She could feel a weight lifting off her shoulders as the reiatsu firmly fixed a bind inside her own soul, and for the first time in a long time, she was able to breathe normally.
She was rather pleased with herself, and rolled her shoulders, hair glimmering in the sunlight as she untucked her bangs from behind her ears and shook her head to release them fully. Today was a long day of training and she was still preparing herself to be able to get through everything.
She had asked Suki to meet her here at noon- she still had a few minutes left, and so decided to start early. There were a number of kido she had devised that she wanted to learn to use fully, in order to increase her combat capabilities. The first was a bakudo, one she had designed to shield her in combat. She had spent time studying the stars and lensing when developing it- she saw how large enough masses could bend even light waves around them and thusly had made a kido to do the same.

Written in Welsh, the incantation depicted a curse- stopping the shadow of the dragon's son from touching a maiden. She took in a deep breath and said the incantation. "Erchyll mab yr Ddraig, fydd dy cyhysod byth yn cyffwrdd croen fyrwonig fy merch, ewch o'r lle ma rwan! Tarian Mathonwy!" she said, and she felt the words chanelling her reiryoku into her own flesh. An intense, crushing energy surrounded her as she poured more and more energy into herself, and fiery marks began etching themselves into her skin- however, it was too strong, and she felt pain as they burned her, and she screamed shrilly, rapidly cutting off the flow of energy to her flesh, before collapsing, writhing in pain. This was not a good start.
After a few moments, she sat upright, ashen faced, and cast keikatsu upon herself, healing the wounds. It didn't take too long, the soothing green energy sealing up the terrible burns and smoothing the skin over once more. It was imperative that this time, she focused on getting just the right amount of reiryoku so she didn't destroy herself. Taking a deep breath, and slowly easing herself to her feet, Blod cast the spell once more.
"Erchyll mab yr Ddraig, fydd dy cyhysod byth yn cyffwrdd croen fyrwonig fy merch, ewch o'r lle ma rwan! Tarian Mathonwy!" This time she let the reiatsu pour more slowly into her flesh, like easing one's foot off the clutch of a car, the energy going slowly into her. After but a few moments she felt a kind of singing, as well as a "click" as if the spell had activated and was locked into place.

She tried it out, stretching her body. With a little practice she wouldn't have to maintain focus while using the kido but for now she needed to, and she could feel the flicker of its uncertainty. It was at that exact moment that Suki came bounding up behind her, calling her name with vigor and energy, purple hair flicking this way and that. Blodeuwen would ordinarily be over the moon to see her adopted sister, but this time, her concentration broke due to her presence and there was an air-shattering crack, as the energy stored in a dense field around her suddenly leaked out, bursting with firey pain from the etchings on her skin.
"Bakudo 73, Tozansho!" she cried, in an attempt to contain the imminent explosion. She did everything she could to limit the amount of energy- luckily there was still some residual shielding effect as roughly half of the energy of her shield exploded outwards, shattering the crystal which contained it somewhat, giving Suki the chance to very quickly throw up an enkosen, as Blodeuwen fell to the ground in the carnage, multiple burn marks upon her body. She wasn't too badly damaged, having made certain that she kept a thick cloak of reiatsu around her, the shield protecting her from its own backfiring.
Suki leapt forwards and began fretting over her sister who merely grunted quietly, noticing that the tip of one of her bangs had been singed with a slight twinge of annoyance. The two of them had Blod healed up in no time, swapping healing-spell duty until she was once again right as rain. The two of them sat, occasionally supping from the flask of honey tea Suki had brought with her.

"So, you ready to give it another shot?" Suki asked after a while and Blodeuwen nodded. She stood up and stretched. She felt that this time would be easier- controlling such incredibly strong energies was at first very daunting. However she was inspired with how she had managed to avoid dying a horrible painful death; it gave her strength that she was actually not a total incompetent.
"Erchyll mab yr Ddraig, fydd dy cyhysod byth yn cyffwrdd croen fyrwonig fy merch, ewch o'r lle ma rwan! Tarian Mathonwy!" She said, and felt the flow of kido into her once more. The density of the shield grew greater and greater as her skin was - painlessly this time - etched with tribal-like markings, and space warped around her. She laughed triumphantly, letting go of her focus on the shield, and feeling extremely satisfied as it stayed in place; she had managed to form it well enough this time.
"Did it work!?" her sister asked excitedly.
"I think so, but there's only one way to be sure!" Blod replied with a wink and Suki nodded, withdrawing her zanpakuto, and charging her sister, who watched with some bemusement as instead of being skewered, she saw her sister bending around her, her shape visually stretching and distending. After a moment, she was behind Blodeuwen, with the latter being totally unscathed. She was satisfied and nodded her head, deactivating the spell.
She seemed to be getting the hang of these strong energies- she had a few more spells to learn and knew that if she kept her focus up, she was good enough at kido now that there would be little or no problem.

"For these next ones, you're going to want to get far, far away." warned Blodeuwen. Suki nodded, and she shunpod to a safe distance. Blod focused; this was another kido she'd created herself, one of a pair. She recalled the incantation- for she had learned it off by heart already and drew breath. She imagined the field surrounding her, and drew her energy about her, before letting the area around her sing with reiatsu, and she opened her previously closed eyes, hair hovering due to the intensity of the energy.
"Great force, erupted from the bowels of the earth, paint the air with fertility and virulence. Let grow the eternal horns of the wraithbeasts and wither the heathen opposition." She said, and the humming grew in intensity, before stopping and becoming silent. "Hado 99; Red Field!" she said, and a red orb appeared around her, 50 meters in radius. It flickered several times, before collapsing in on itself. The energy rushed back towards Blodeuwen who just about managed to throw up a defensive barrier, dissipating the energy simultaneously. She stopped for a breather- stability. Calm, focus and stability.
She tried again, once more gathering the reiatsu together and spreading it out, focusing on maintaining the stability of the kido. "Great force, erupted from the bowels of the earth, paint the air with fertility and virulence. Let grow the eternal horns of the wraithbeasts and wither the heathen opposition. Hado 99; Red Field! she cast and the field appeared around her. It was bright red and oozed and wobbled with energy. She focused hard for a few moments and it stabilized. She nodded with some satisfaction, and turned to Suki, who shook the tree she was stood next to.
A couple of birds within squwaked and flew outwards, to find themselves completely de-atomised by Blod's kido. She winced, and turned it off but was glad that she knew the kido worked. It would be a dangerous addition to her arsenal. She drew breath once more, as she prepared to learn its sister spell.

Suki was still stood far away while Blod recited the second incantation to herself once before standing straight, and gathering her energy for casting the next kido. This one was virtually the same as the last, and she would have very little issue learning it.
"Great matter, descended from the starry heavens, fracture the earth with death and overgrowth. Nourish the endless love of the cherubian fiends and martyr any who would stand in your way." She finished saying the kido, and a blue energy field surrounded her. A bead of sweat rolled down her forehead, and eventually, she gave it up, panting. She nearly had it, but her reiryoku was simply leaking out too quickly. It always took multiple tries to get a technique stable.
"Great matter, descended from the starry heavens, fracture the earth with death and overgrowth. Nourish the endless love of the cherubian fiends and martyr any who would stand in your way." she said, casting the kido again, this time managing to maintain it; the blue field surrounding her. Should anyone walk into it they would find themselves melted drastically and horrifically; Blod would not ask Suki to test it out. She dis-spelled the kido, and paused to take a drink.

Next were a few kido she was learning from the books that were a touch easier. Though by no means beginner, some of them touching on very advanced spellwork, they were mostly intermediate spells and Blod didn't anticipate she would have a great deal of trouble with them. First up was Raikoho. She had studied it carefully, and turned towards where she would be firing it, before reciting the incantation.
"Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!" she cried, although not much happened. There was a brief pause before a crackle and a teeny spark of electricity emanated from her arm. She sighed perhaps this kido needed a focus, a somatic component, but she hated waving her arms. Suki giggled about the pitiful response, while Blodeuwen gritted her teeth. Blod raised her right hand, and cast the kido again, forcing the spell's power out of her hand.
She repeated the incantation and it was far more forceful, a huge jolt shooting out in front of her. It was perhaps too excessive, however as she felt her hand spasming and burning painfully. She shook it off, cussing. "Keikatsu." she muttered impatiently, before the green energy surrounded her hands and healed her. Blod always did have a tendency to get a bit overexcited. "Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!" She cried, and remembering to focus her reiatsu properly, and putting the correct amount of power behind it, she cast it successfully.
She tried it once more after she'd cooled down from the first casting. It had stuck. Quickly it was joining the legion of kido which she could cast effortlessly, with absolutely no troubles. Her eyes lit up. Fantastic.
