Blodeuwen was poring over books in her office when the message came. She was a tad impatient at first, her studies having been interrupted- she'd been researching human science in order to apply it to kidou creation. She had learned of entropy, of microstates and temperature and wondered if she could develop a kido which allowed macroscopic desires to be translated into microscopic results; the second law of thermodynamics was not conserved in most shinigami operations, and the ability to break objects down and transform them somehow would be useful... Even if it were merely in order to learn more about their composition in order to get better at breaking them down. Regardless the message arrived, in the form of a black butterfly. She bustled to receive it and was slightly bemused when she did. Kiyu... She recognised that name from some time ago. Yes, yes- he was the Soshi of the Kidoshu between... Who was it? Sen and Ryougi, perhaps. Her mind dwelled upon the latter of those, who Blodeuwen had found as a human a couple summers ago, completely unaware of her own spiritual power, totally oblivious to her tremendous power. She always had been steadfast and unreconcilable and in this case she was too, resulting in the Kidoshu being left without leadership.
Except of course, for Blod who had stepped in, taken the position of Vice-Kidocho. With it came the obligatory of Grand Kido Chief, awarded to her as the most proficient kido user within soul society. She had recalled the pride of her adopted family when she had told them of her prestige; of her adopted brother, Kitado who beamed so strongly at her, knowing that he had made the right decision in taking her in, all those years ago. The impatient fluttering of the jikogan interrupted her reminiscing. Kiyu- Blod had not known him well, being but a lowly senkaimon mechanic during the time of his leadership. She didn't know much about him at the current time, but he had requested to see her, along with orders from the Central 46. Her eyebrows shot up as this came to light. It was certainly interesting and not even she dared decline the orders of the Central 46: especially not when they were due to be meeting in the Soshi's office.
She snapped her fingers, and raised her arms and managed to lift her dress off of her simply by the sheer force of her reiatsu. She then concentrated on the light purple Vice Kidocho robes hanging upon a nearby peg, and it flew over and bound itself about her tightly. She drew the hair not a part of her fringe or bangs up into an elaborate-looking top-knot with the air of a clip and several hair-pins, before placing several ceremonial sticks of incense into the bun, and concentrating hard to make the incense ignite. It had been designed for ceremonial wear within one's hair, and as such she didn't have to worry about singeing.
With this, she used her reiatsu to make a fancy quill dip itself within an ink pot and write an out-of-office notice which affixed itself to her door, before she strode out of her office at a stately pace, and made her way towards what had at various times been Ryougi, Kiyu, Sen, and Tessai's office. She wasn't nervous- merely curious, as to what she would find as she strode up the corridor smelling of Nag Champa and exuding mysticism with her ceremonial dress and hair.
His hand caressed the wooden frame that he once called his second home. It had been a while since his last stay here, but due to some recovery at the personal expense of Central 46, he had stepped down from the Soshi seat in order to aid with a project that was most confidential at the time. Since then a number of these projects have sprung up, as Kiyu was approached due to his rapid success in his strength reported by the former soshi, Tokomaru Sen, that Kiyu was given a chance to be a part of a greater good. His powers were used to empower a human to sub-shinigami status, one of the many that were now in the legal system. It was only considered that Kiyu to be a candidate to lend his powers as C46 read about how quickly Kiyu was able to obtain his strength and in no doubt in their mind would he be able to recover.
During the time spent recovering under C46's personal care, he was allowed to walk freely, however, due to his power drop, his Kido had been a little out of shape, and had to relearn a lot of the spells that he had taught himself. It is still going a pretty good rate, and soon, he will be back to his old self. As he watched over the Soshi desk, reminiscing of countless nights going over paperwork, he sent a butterfly requesting the audience of the current acting Soshi, Bludeuwen, as she had been the Kidoshu Vice Kidocho under Ryogi's leadership. With Ryogi gone, Bludeuwen was to be next in line, however, at the request directly from Kiyu, he had asked C46 to look over a few things before a possible promotion was awarded.
Here he was, once again. With a smile on his face, his old white robe over his shinigami garbs, it was like he had never left. He awaited the arrival of Bludeuwen, so that he may take a good look at the next possible Soshi of this magnificent force. He prided himself of being amazing at Kido, however, as his original focus was Bakudo, his focus now would be to have both specialties. It wouldn't be enough to learn one art over the other, now that he knows better, he's been training Hado and Bakudo equally, with his spells steadily increasing in power as the spell numbers increase. Perhaps he may issue Bludeuwen a challenge, with some layouts C46 has, Kiyu wants to see where things could possibly take him. He enjoyed having the Soshi title, and there was nothing else to that point that held great pride for him, until that is, the day he met Karina, then it all changed.
He wondered how Bludeuwen would react seeing him wearing a Soshi robe when she would walk in the office. He chuckled a bit to himself.

Blodeuwen took a deep breath, and veritably plunged into the office. She had not dared take up residence there. It was improper and she knew it- most shinigami would agree. A kind of veil of seriousness had descended over Blod ever since she'd taken up the Vice Kidosho role; it sat murky at the base of her consciousness at all times and rose to the surface when she wore her robes and assumed the mindset of her new job. Within, she saw Kiyu. He looked similar enough to how she remembered him that she was under the impression he was very familiar, as she retroactively fit the features before her into her hazy, indistinct memories. She saw that he was wearing the darker purple robes, that designated usually the Soshi of the kidoshu. If Kiyu had been expecting some kind of amusing or perhaps upset reaction, he was mistaken. Upon entering, the two trails of smoke wispy behind her, her face remained totally nonplussed, however she bent in a respectful bow.
"Kiyu-taicho." she said, using the captain-title as an honorific. "It's pleasant to see you once again." she hesitated, wondering if it were her place to comment on what appeared, at least, to be his appointment to the role of leader of the Kido Corps. After a brief pause she simply said: "I am pleased the Kidoshu have a leader. We have been lost without leadership." she said smiling genuinely at him. It would be interesting to work under another shinigami once more, and she hoped that she would be able to learn from his leadership. Furthermore, she had no illusions about her own skill in kido: the thought of someone who far surpassed her frightened and enthused her simultaneously. Even Blod still had much to learn and if Kiyu was the one to teach her... Well then- she was excited to improve her kido abilities.
She stood, watching him serenely. He wasn't half bad looking, but that thought reminded her of Llew. As soon as the first thought of that boyish face, superimposed onto the hardened body of an arrancar, blemished by markings and a mask crept into her brain, she instantly banished it, her face going slightly stony. Now was not the time to let such thoughts distract her, as she tried to relax her features to normal, her eyes two pale zeroes.
He kept his smile up as Blodeuwen walked in through the doors. He expected a few things donning the robes but not for her to suddenly bow and call him Taicho. It wasn't a new thing for him, but it certainly didn't feel deserved especially given the circumstance. He quickly waved his hands in front of him, but more over, it seemed that C46 kept their word in not revealing to everyone why he actually had stepped down for. As he reached into his coat, he removed a document stamped by C46 approving Kiyu's return to the Kidoshu but also allowing him to voluntarily resign from active leadership duty. It was an unofficial leave of absence, but now he would be able to pass down the ceremonial tradition of on Kido Soshi to the next.
Well, I am not sure if you heard the news, but given the current state of affairs you have been acting Soshi while the previous Soshi just disappeared. By rule, the Fuku Kidocho will take place of the Soshi and become the new leader of the Kidoshu, however, due to some circumstances, my name was never removed from the Soshi Role Position.
He gave a short sigh, pushing his hair back a bit as he reached for a pen from the desk. On the bottom of the parchment rested two blank lines with just two titles: Current Soshi Resignation; New Soshi Signature. His eyes darted to that first line, knowing what it meant to have held this position in honor of Sen's retirement. It would be nice to have certain freedoms again, and have time to see Karina, and such. It was one thing he was looking forward to, and now, this was the moment in which everything would change. Placing the pen and paper on the desk, Kiyu had one more thing in store as he removed his robe, taking the key from within and opening a closet to the right of the desk. Inside were other robes worn by previous soshi hung with care, with just a quick look within a robe would reveal an engraved name within the cloth, and his would be added to this wardrobe.
It goes without saying that it is my responsibility to make sure this group is run properly by somebody who is most skilled in Kido. From some of the reports I've seen, you have grown quite a lot since your days in the Sentry Squad. It would give me great pride that I officially resign the position of the Kidoshu Soshi to you, Blodeuwen Hirashi.
Locking the closet, he would return to the desk, and immediately sign his name where it said "Current Soshi resignation."
The fact of the matter is, I'm no longer as strong or skilled as I used to be, after helping in a special project, nearly all the Kido I've learned was lost to me, and I've slowly been reteaching myself how to cast them. My overall power fell, and as I'm learning again, I've slowly been climbing back up in strength... Once more, my former Zanpakuto powers... well... I lost Ekishou... I was aiding with the Substitute Shinigami project, lending my power, but it costed me more than I wanted. I've been slowly regaining my powers, but it is almost like a new body. In either case, all you have to do is sign here.
He held to pen in front of him, directly toward Blod, hoping that she would soon sign the blank space below his signature.

Blod looked up to see him waving his hands. Hmm? This was strange- had there been some kind of misunderstanding? The possibilities raced through her mind, though she kept quiet, waiting for him to speak to save herself the embarrassment of guessing wrong, though her face displayed her slight confusion. He then began to speak, seeming to clarify his reluctance to accept her salutations. She nodded sagely as he informed her that she had been acting Soshi- that much was clear. The responsibilities she had taken on had really presented themselves clearly. As Kiyu informed her that he was Soshi in terms of an administrative error alone, however, she couldn't help but make a sharp intake of breath, as she watched him remove his twinkly, blue-eyed gaze from herself, and run a hand through his mop of long, spiky blonde hair.
Blodeuwen took an involuntary step backwards, the trails of incense mazing a hap-hazard "z" shape in the air as she did so. The room was filled with the soothing aroma of Nag Champa now, but Blod felt anything but soothed, her heart pumping in her throat as she saw the piece of parchment unfurl. He put it down beside him, and Blod placed her foot back into its original spot, such that she was once again standing upright as Kiyu placed his robes into the cupboard; no longer was he dressed as the Soshi of the Kidoshu. She had still not spoken, the only noise escaping from her the aforementioned hiss of breath, as well as her breathing. Was she... Was this a promotion? She had never dreamed of getting a promotion. She felt the briefest twinge of annoyance- Kiyu would not be able to teach her the most powerful of kido. It soon subsided, however. That was not important now. This man, in his good grace was stepping down from one of the most prestigious positions in all of soul society... Not that prestige mattered, she supposed.
Not at this level. He spoke once more. She smiled despite herself as he talked about how far she'd come. Didn't she just know it? But it was nice for him to have said it, it meant a lot. She inclined her head respectfully. She stared at him, aghast, when he finally said it. Her. Soshi. Kidoshu Soshi: Blodeuwen Hirashi. It seemed completely surreal, and she was stunned, unable to reply for a second, she simply stared at him, like a rabbit caught in the headlights.
He explained- he'd been involved with the Crisis Core project. Perhaps Kiyu knew Raiden. She frowned at him, explaining that he was having to re-train himself back to his former strength. It sounded like quite an ordeal. She opened her mouth to offer her condolences but all that came out was a kind of strangled yelp. She cleared her throat and tried again.
"I- I am honoured. I apologize for the loss of your powers; such is the price we must pay to keep Soul Society safe." was all she managed to force out. She took the pen, her hand shaking, and padded forwards in order to sign the slip of paper upon the desk, her hand almost as heavy as her heart. She signed.
"Wh- What happens now, Kiyu?" She asked, looking at his face which moments before had seemed hopeful yet almost anxious.
Blodeuwen had asked what would happen next. Kiyu only smiled once again, as bright as his smile was, he could only imagine what kind of expression she would harbor next when he would do one more thing to surprise her. He tossed the key he had kept safe for such a long time, catching it and then placing it on the desk. It would now be hers, not only did it open the cupboard where he placed his soshi robes, but it also opened other Soshi only access areas in the Kidoshu barracks. This was not his final gift, the next gift came as Kiyu walked behind the Soshi desk, pulled out a long metal case, and placed on the wood frame in front of the key. He finally dusted off his garbs, walked over to her and patted her on the shoulder.
Well, I do suppose that whatever happens next, will be entirely up to you, Hirashi-Soshi.
This was him officially stepping down, while the paperwork only was a written proof of the handing down of title, the fact that Kiyu was able to step back and allow another to take his place was him physically committing to this procedure. It was a little difficult, knowing that he would be able to progress without much time needed, however, a capable leader was needed, one who could be an example of Mastered Kido, Kiyu, with no doubt in his mind, felt that Blodeuwen would be that shinning example, until of course, he was capable of returning to his former prowess. His Kido rivaled Sen's, Ryogi was versatile in her craft, however, she lacked passion that fueled Kido. Her spells were exceptional, but she couldn't match up to Sen's brilliance, Kiyu's natural talent, and of course, Blodeuwen had a knack for Kido that made her stand out all above the rest.
Now that she was Soshi, she would have to appoint a FukuKidocho, and whoever she would pick would most likely be somebody who has the knowledge of Kido above any other person. Kiyu would go on to continue his training, preparing for the cruel experience that was obtaining bankai, and finally... reclaim something that he had lost a while back, his personal pride in his art. Within the case, once she would open it using the key, would lay a new robe; a traditional style haori, the symbol of her title, a canvas in which her kido would be implanted on. Kiyu's robe looked the same way, but upon wearing it, implanted a special pattern that was unique to him, unique to his kido art; while still that same deep purple, it made his robe a specialized haori that would only be associated with him. He could only wonder what her unique form would look like.

She followed the key with her now orb-like blue eyes, smiling as Kiyu placed it upon the desk. It was up to her? What happened next? It all seemed surreal, that she had truly been chosen to lead the Kidoshu. But now was the time for formality and to make decisions- she after all, would shortly have a large organization to oversee. He put a box on the desk, and patted on the shoulder, which she found oddly informal but didn't especially mind, giving him a toothy grin, her perfect teeth gleaming pearly white. She ventured forward, and turned the key in the lock, opening the box. Ahh yes. She pulled the haori out a deep, powerful purple.
Her eyes still wide, she gracefully swung it around, and placed it upon her shoulders. As she did so, the fabric changed. The Kidoshu's logo of a circle with three points on its outside remained, as did the purple hue of the vast majority of the robe, but the collar turned up, and curled around looking starched, similar to Tessai Tsukabishi's had been. The lower reaches of the fabric, which fell to the floor, changed to a deep deep blue and was dotted with embroidered golden flowers and stars.
"Well," she said, turning to Kiyu after inspecting her new Haori. "I suppose, now, that I shall cement the hierarchy I had temporarily put in place in an attempt to stave off madness." she laughed mirthlessly. "Kiyu: will you be rejoining us?" Blodeuwen closed the box with a thunk- the noise had the vague air of finality about it. "Obviously you are welcome back in the Kido Corps and I'm sure we can find a place for you." She smiledserenely at him.
