( SOUND AND COLOR ) NO MORE TO SEE THE SETTING OF THE SUN ~
You ever hear that song Fancy Footwork? You know the one that kept talking about taking unrhythmic two steps over and over. The one that was basically talking about dancing for bae. Yeah. That one. The one by Chromeo. Hirenkyaku was just some really good fancy footwork. Elderon was feeling himself despite having ducked and dodged several cars in a display of his own stepping prowess. Probably wasn't his best idea to quiet literally play in traffic, but despite it all he was having fun twirling past oncoming traffic and that's all that mattered, right?
. . . .
The gag in it all was, no matter how much fun he was having the dark-haired lad was silently praying that he didn't make a silent mistake and bust his ass all over the street.
No matter though, this was all for the sake of training, right! Elderon was enjoying the breeze as he rode the spirit particles along the streets of Naruki watching the car's move in slow motion as he sprinted past them. He was always intrigued by the way time seemed to slow when he practiced Hirenkyaku, for a split second in time when he was able to move at speeds unmatched by the human eye, and yet he wasn't even a master of the skill. His mind couldn't help but wonder how different the world would seem when he was faster. The lad adjusted his glasses as he sprinted through the streets again, cars coming in his direction as he played frogger in the middle of traffic. He stopped momentarily in front of an oncoming jeep, smiling and waving, before he was at it again. This time landing on the other side of the road behind a large tree.
One . . . Two . . . Three . . . Again !
A diagonal dash and a swish sound manifested from under his heel and the dirt kicked up as he somersaulted forward and continued running at a breakneck speed. The sudden shift in momentum almost tripped the runt a bit, but he snapped forward and continued running. His running brought him a few miles down the road without realizing it. He had been tracking his speed and distance since he started training and right now he was at 5 miles per every other sprint. In that same time he had covered Japan's Brooklyn equivalent with more than half the day to spare. The American-born Quincy wiped the sweat from his brow and he made another Hirenkyaku dash forward into an alleyway. He continued down the alley, making a sharp right turn around the corner. A few more sharp turns here and there, a more leaps over trash cans there and here.
He held onto the spirit particles for as long as he could before he tripped over his feet and catapulted across the ground. Ugh. Just ugh to the highest degree. He had gotten so full of himself that he lost his concentration and near died in the process. Elderon stood up and dusted the dirt from his clothes. He took a moment to analyze the situation, sighing to himself when he realized the fault was his own. He had been compressing reishi under his feet but failed to hold them together if he moved too far without a pause in between. He shot forward like a rocket into space, as his momentum speed up the wind battered his face and his hair was rustling and smacking his face as the wind increased the more he used Hirenkyau. As his body flew through the streets he held on tighter to the reishi particles, but smack! Just like that, in the middle of Naruki square he lost concentration and tripped once again.
He didn't hesitate standing back up and trying again. He repeated this process with the same distance, each time being met with a tumble. Elderon sighed. Why did he keep falling? Elderon's eyes peeled downward as he watched the reishi pull under his feet. With his left leg he dug it deep into the dirt and with his right leg he used it as a kick-starter and vaulted into the streets. Every time he got too far, the particles started to separate from under him when he ran for a long period of time. He snapped his finger and he had an idea.
Elderon gathered the particles under his feet and took a mad dash forward. As his distance increased he quickly exhaled a few of the particles and quickly pulled them back in, he continued this until he gained a steady balance and continued on his sprint, completely bypassing his normal limit. The sprint continued for a few more seconds until he came to a complete halt. He wasn't fast. But he was better.
