MYSTERIOUS SWORD
A simple day, that's all today was. Was she on patrol? Nope. Was she sent to help someone? Nope. Her entire reason for being here was simply because she enjoyed it. Today wasn't about fighting hollows or finding Yojimbo's balance, Today was simply about existing in a peaceful moment. With the recent resurgence of Quincy it was difficult to find a moment when training wasn't a priority for her. As she walked next to the river slowly her crimson eyes peered out around her, humans were possibly the most intriguing race that she'd taken an interest in. The vast majority of them weren't spiritually aware, but the few that were seemed to possess far more varied powers than even the Shinigami. While each Shinigami had their own diverse set of powers from their Zanpakuto, Humans powers seemed to stem from something different. Each one had something different to utilize them, much like a Shinigami's Shikai Call Out Phrase.
Wandering along she continued to make note of the few humans that were stopping near the river, most of them just children with their Mother or Father wanting to play in the river a little. Curious individuals, never a care in the world it seemed... Completely unaware of the war being fought around them. So it was no surprise that when Hollows showed up, these spiritually unaware humans wouldn't even run in fear. One had to wonder if it was best for them to be unaware of the horrors that surrounded them on a day-to-day basis, or if they'd be better off knowing about it so they could prepare. If Humans could develop weapons against the Hollows, then they could aid in the defense against them right? But then... That would also allow them to attack Shinigami as well. In the end she wouldn't be able to make them spiritually aware anyway, she wasn't even sure how one became Spiritually Aware in the first place.
But besides her pondering what else could be done whilst on vacation, of sorts anyway? Perhaps she could go shopping... That might work, but in truth even in her Gigai she probably stuck out like a sore thumb here. Most of these humans wore more human-like clothing, completely different than her own. On top of that her long and thick Raven Black hair didn't help her to blend in, but it seemed for the most part these humans ignored her... Perhaps it was easier for her to blend in than she thought. Her knee-high black boots clicked softly against the pavement as she made her way back up the hill and off towards who-knows-where, giving a soft sigh she placed her hands behind her head and stared upwards towards the sky "It's so boring here... Who would've thought training was so much fun..."
A calm and peaceful day in Karakura Town. After two weeks sober, finally getting his wish. Taking a deep breath the onyx-haired Visored walked along the street, glancing at stores and pubs as he passed, with the high-rising towers and buildings of Naruki City in the distance. Red-and-white heterochromatic eyes watched as people passed, going about their lives, completely unaware of him and the truth of the world around them. A vast majority of them were powerless in the grand scheme of things, against Shinigami, against Hollow, against it all. In return, the spiritual world seemed to ignore them, other than the collateral damage caused when they acted out, which the Shinigami seemed to have some method of reversing.
But did their powerlessness in the grand scheme of things make them worthless?
Of course not, or at least so the Visored thought. They each lived their own lives, living freely, without someone telling them what to do or who to be. If they wanted to change themselves, they could. With an undeniable irrelevance in the world came a sort of all-encompassing importance; with no duty to the world around them, they could do as they pleased, whenever they pleased.
Not to say that Hidane didn’t take great joy in his life, or that he didn’t necessarily do as he pleased, but when it came down to it, he would do what had to be done to protect the freedom of this completely nonsense, unimportant lifestyle that the spiritually unaware humans had.
His walk around the town eventually brought him to the river, where his mood was soured as he saw a woman standing at the river’s edge, long black hair cascading over the traditional garb of the Shinigami, Reiatsu clinging to her like gnats around an open fire.
So much for his normal day, he thought, as he walked forward. He could very well just keep moving along, ignoring that he saw her…
…but that just wasn’t his style.
“Oi, Shinigami,” he said as he reached the river’s edge next to her, “just staring off into the river, are ya? Don’t you have a job to do or something?” After speaking, he glanced at her with his red-and-white eyes, the scar over the white right eye glistening in the soft sunlight. He wore a traditional Chinese-style sleeveless top, black with white lining, with slim black pants, black socks and white sandals, white bandages wrapped around the entirety of his left arm.

MYSTERIOUS SWORD
The woman blinked as she heard someone seemingly calling towards her, her head tilting down she scanned the edges of the water until her eyes fell upon a man... Tall, dark and clearly not ordinary. Her head tilted slightly though when she finally processed what he had asked she blinked a few more times before chuckling a bit "Well actually, Right now I'm on vacation... of sorts. With the recent surge in spiritual activity, training every day all day can wear on someone. So I decided to take a personal day to just relax, and it just so happens that I decided to take it here."
Giving a slight tilt of her head the other direction she studied this man carefully, His clothes were very human-like so he was unlikely to be a Hollow of any kind. Sure his hole might not be visible, but that doesn't explain why none of his mask was remaining like what is standard for all Arrancarr. He could be a Bount, That would explain why she couldn't sense anything from him. A human might be a possibility, but he'd have to be an exceedingly powerful human to hide his Reiatsu from her. So he could be anything other than a Hollow due to him not having any kind of mask, That made him dangerous... Dangerous enough that even her Zanpakuto Spirit was hesitant about how it felt of the stranger.
"Why do you ask?" She tilted her head as she tried to figure out just what this man was, part of her really wanted to ask... but if he was as powerful as she thought he might be, it could be bad to ask. She couldn't really help the fact that her hand slid slowly to her sheath, rising up it until her thumb pressed gently against the guard of her Zanpakuto. This man made her very nervous, If he could see her and she couldn't sense his Reiatsu there wasn't two ways about it that she couldn't simply be unguarded. She didn't recognize him, she never remembered seeing him in Soul Society either. While that didn't automatically make him an enemy, it did mean she had to be cautious.
As she waited she continued to hold her neutral stance with but one hand on the sheath and her thumb pressing against the hilt, It was unlikely she could truly fight back if he was far stronger than her but even so she would attempt too if it came down to it. With as many humans around, casualties were definitely a possibility if he attacked.
A curiosity, this Shinigami. She seemed calm about being called out, though recently the number of spiritually aware humans, as well as other things, in Karakura Town was increasing on top of the Hollow count, so he supposed it wasn’t so unusual for Shinigami assigned here to be greeted by someone anymore. But this Shinigami said she was on ‘vacation’. A curiosity, that. “Huh, I didn’t know the Shinigami got to take vacations. They must really be letting themselves go lately…” If true, not a good sign, given the things to come. Perhaps he should make a move to try to give them some warning, after all. Of course, there was still the risk that someone would just not believe him and try to take him in for execution, which was the main reason he was holding off on it.
Though, someone like this Shinigami was unlikely to have even heard of him, let alone take his word for anything. The most likely to take his word would be the Visored Captains, but he wasn’t even sure where they stood in the Gotei; would the rest of the Captains… would the Captain Commander… take his word for it?
Was possibly sacrificing himself worth it to try to save a society that had cast him out?
Thoughts for another time.
“Eh, it was more of a joke, really,” he said response to the Shinigami asking why he asked, “I am more than well enough aware that you guys tend to basically leave things to those of us that actually live here these days.” True enough; Shinigami response time was pretty slow lately, and most of the time he or someone else he knew in town was more likely to find problems and solve them before anyone from Soul Society would even catch wind of it. And now there was even a Shinigami just taking a stroll in town, not on assignment, just taking a vacation; a luxury only afforded to Captains usually, and even then usually only as a half-hearted scolding afterwards, not a permissible event.
Hidane took note as the Shinigami’s hand moved to the sheathe of her Zanpakuto, and he grinned. Stretching and putting his hands behind his head, he spoke once more.
“You can relax; I have no intention of attacking you… or anyone… unless, of course, you plan on giving me a reason to?” He put his arms back down to his side, hands away from the hilt of his Zanpakuto. “The name’s Hidane. Hidane Miura. Yours?”

MYSTERIOUS SWORD
She tilted her head for a moment "Well it's not like it's a long vacation anyway, just today. Though I'm still required to act as a Shinigami should the need arise, not that I would shirk my duties even if I wasn't." The man's next statement did irk her quite a bit, his suggestion that the Shinigami left their job up to those in this world? Tch.... Her grip tightened a bit though her face and body showed no real signs of her emotions changing otherwise. "Well I dare not speak for my superior's or other Shinigami, but I for one wouldn't allow such a thing to happen. It is, after all, our duty to defend this world is it not?" She replied back with a simple smile towards the male. Even though he now claimed to have no intention of attacking, Her hand never left the sheathe of her blade and her thumb stayed firmly planted against the hilt. "Shinpi-Tekina Kenshi." She said back as he introduced himself.
"Out of curiosity... How do you know what I am? Something tells me you're more than just a spiritually aware human." That was the question wasn't it? Just how did he know... He had approached her and knew already she was a Shinigami, If that was so then he was either an ally or an enemy right? But she'd never heard the name before, so if he was an ally he must not be one that was very well known and thus likely not much more powerful than herself. "Sorry if it seems a bit personal, I just have a hard time believing that you're just a human... Especially since you already knew what I was before I said anything."
“That’s right. ‘Defending the world’, you guys call it.”But only defending those you deem worthy of defending. The rest can burn in Hell.“Regardless, good to see someone who takes that duty seriously, assuming you live up to your words. Most around here don’t, and me and my friends end up picking up the slack.” Without care for formalities or making the Shinigami feel awkward, he leaned down and took off his sandals and socks, taking a few steps into the refreshingly cool river water, only enough to barely wash over the top of his feet. He stretched his arms out, giving a long, loud yawn.
“As for how I could tell what you are… I could smell a Shinigami a mile away.” He sniffed loudly; it was true, his senses had heightened since he’d become a Shinigami, to the extent of being able to even smell the differences in Reiatsu, but that sense had been acutely strengthened since he’d attained his Ressurrecion form. “Shinigami, Hollow, Arrancar, Quincy, humans, modified souls… they all have distinct aromas if you have the sense to sniff ‘em out. I’ve become quite acutely aware of all of ‘em, and there’s no mistaking what you are, Kenshi-san.” He spun on his heels in the water, a playful grin on his face. “Though, even if I couldn’t, the get-up’s a bit obvious.”
He watched the Shinigami’s movements closely.
“You’re right about me not being merely a human though… let’s just say I’m more like you than them, but not so much alike that I’d call us the same.” He hadn’t been hiding his Reiatsu, so if she was good at sensing Reiatsu, surely she could pick up on the unusually well-melded combination of Shinigami and Hollow Reiatsu. How she responded to that was up to her.

MYSTERIOUS SWORD
She had completely forgotten about the fact she wasn't in her Gigai, So when he pointed it out she felt kind of silly about it. Though his 'acute' sense of smell was intriguing, she felt no disturbance in Yojimbo's balance... Not immediately anyway. What was disturbing though was his Reiatsu... Now that she focused a bit more to try and find it, she felt her heart sink quite a bit and her grip upon her sheathe tighten ever-more. How was it that he was just like some of the Captain's? A meld of Shinigami and Hollow Reiatsu... It may not have disturbed Yojimbo, but Shinpi couldn't help but feel a tug whenever she was near one of the Captain's that was like this. Now that she was here, standing in front of this man... She felt that same tug. What was it? Why did it only happen around them? Her eyes narrowed considerably as her thumb pressed ever-so-lightly against the guard of her Zanpakuto "You're just like the Captains... A mixture of Shinigami and Hollow..." This was very bad suddenly, While she could try to contact Soul Society for backup... Would he even let her? Could he stop her? It was... a difficult choice. Whilst he technically wasn't doing anything, and he didn't seem to upset Yojimbo's Balance, he was still technically to be killed on sight because of what he was.
As a Shinigami she had a duty, and if she was to truly uphold that duty... She had too. "Forgive me, Miura-san..." She reached into her robe, pulling out a small cell-phone as she pressed the call button. Looking at Hidane she spoke clearly "This is Shinpi-Tekina Kenshi, Member of the 8th Squad, I am requesting immediate backup at the Karasu River in Karakura Town for an illegal Visored. Power unknown, potentially very strong." If Hidane allowed the call to go through she would hang up and pull her Zanpakuto from it's sheathe, "Strike True, Yojimbo!" As she drew it, a dark red light was emitted from the sheathe as she drew the seemingly impossibly long blade from it's sheathe. Grasping the hilt with both hands her eyes narrowed "As a Shinigami of the Gotei 13, I am placing you under arrest. You will accompany me back to Soul Society where you will be tried before the Central 46!" Bold words for sure but... She had no real choice.
{Read}Shinpi has put in a formal request for backup to Soul Society, If allowed I shall find someone willing to enter to ascertain the nature of the emergency.
It was then that things took a turn, and certainly not for the better, but it was an interesting turn nonetheless. He watched as Shinpi pulled out her Denreishinki and called in to Soul Society… reporting his presence. Well, that was new; most of the time when he encountered Shinigami, they either took the ‘smart’ option and tried to fight him themselves, or they took the ACTUAL smart option, and just went along with it and left him alone. There were a few that took particularly not-smart options that landed them in big trouble with him- and likely Soul Society if they got the truth of the matter- but none had ever actually called him in. Not that he hadn’t made enough of a commotion with the head of the Kido Corps recently, but it was certain now that the Gotei would know of his existence. Wonderful.
Well, it was only a matter of time. He threw his hands up in the air, in a gesture suggesting he didn’t really care what he did.
“And here I was hoping we could just have a nice chat,” he said, “but you seem to have made things… difficult.” He took a few steps backwards and then sat, cross-legged, on the ground, drawing Kurosenko from his side with her sheath to rest her on his lap. “I still won’t attack you, as that would only prove myself to be what the Central 46 surely believe me to be. However, neither will I be going with you… nor anyone else they send.” He paused for a moment, offering a friendly smile.
“Nor will I run, as I’m rather curious about who they’ll send, and what they’ll have to say when they see me as I am.” He let his hands slide over Kurosenko’s sheath, making no motion to draw her unless threatened. Who would they send, after all? When he’d left the Gotei, there were only a handful powerful enough to deal with him as he was now outside of the Captains. If they sent a Captain, there was only a small number he was sure he wouldn’t be able to make see reason. If it was someone else, though unlikely, those were more… wild cards, than anything. “But what is it that you will do then, Shinpi-Tekina Tenshi?”
{READ}You're welcome to call a held Captain or someone else strong enough associated with the Gotei in, idc. Makes it interesting. If you want to keep posting until someone else is brought in, that works fine with me too.

MYSTERIOUS SWORD
Shinpi gritted her teeth as she stared at the man, He simply sat down as though he hadn't a care that she'd just called him in! As he asked his question to her however, she placed her blade back into it's sheath, her eyes closing. She had to be careful if she wished to try to attack him here, even if her attacks didnt' affect him... There were civilians around. However thankfully she had tricks when this kind of situation arose, her eyes opened and she launched herself forward towards Hidane. Pulling her blade from it's sheathe in a horizontal arc in a, admittedly rather pathetic, attempt to slice Hidane in half. This, obviously, failed, even if Hidane didn't attempt to stop her blade it would simply bounce off the Visored. Even as Shinpi continued to slice at Hidane, every attack merely bounced off the man and with each slice, her own hands bled more. Surely, however, if she kept at it long enough... She'd either find a way to cut him or backup would arrive right?
Well it didn't really matter either way, as uncharacteristic as it was for Shinpi to make the first attack... or the 50th, they did naught to the Visored. So how was she supposed to actually take him in herself? Eventually however, unless Hidane had tried to stop her before this happened, Shinpi fell to her knees panting heavily, her hands were sore and bloody. She understood what happened when a weaker Reiatsu struck one that was significantly stronger than itself, exactly what was happening. This man was at least two, maybe three times more powerful than she was at least and she was even using her Shikai. She had to keep trying though, It was her duty as a Shinigami! Even if... it was pointless. Part of her wanted to ask why, but she knew why... He was illegal. His very existence was illegal! Her Zanpakuto Spirit told her this was pointless, attacking gained her nothing. With a quick and slow sigh she sheathed her blade again, There was nothing she could do. The only thing she could hope for now, was that a Captain, or at least a lieutenant, arrived to force him into custody.
Description: This technique, much like Tessho, relies not on the users Reiatsu but the users Strength. As such sensing this technique coming is difficult, However visibly it can be seen from the user grasping the hilt of their weapon, or sheathing their blade if it's already drawn, before making a swift dash towards their opponent whilst simultaneously swinging their blade towards the target aiming to slice them in half.
As the Visored sat, waiting to see what kind of back-up the Gotei might send, it seemed this Shinigami decided to take things into her own hands… or try to, anyway, as she rushed the Visored and drew her blade. It felt… odd, in a word. He wasn’t sure he’d ever fought anyone so outclassed by him that their Zanpakuto simply bounced off of his skin, other than his newly hardened left arm, kept wrapped tightly in bandages, the pitch black skin completely concealed. But no, this blade bounced off his shoulders, arms, neck, head… it itched, being struck by a blade and not even receiving a scratch. He was half tempted to intentionally lower his defenses so that one would at least nick him a little bit, but if he overshot it this grunt might actually do some decent damage to him.
Temporary damage, anyway.
It wasn’t until Hidane, watching the Shinigami’s futile attempts, saw the girl’s hands starting to bleed from the repeated force of trying to cut into him that he raised his left arm, fingers slightly unnaturally long, and caught the blade, closing his hand in a tight first around it to keep her from attempting to strike any further.
“Stop,” he said softly, his tone calm and somber, “your hand is bleeding. Don’t put yourself in harm’s way unnecessarily, or throw your life away.” He would move the blade off to the side as Shinpi fell to her knees. “If you’re going to commit to something so fully, at least let it be your own life, not a duty that deems you fight a hopeless battle against someone who isn’t even looking for a fight.”
He let out a soft sigh.
“If you wish to wait for reinforcements, here I will stay. I’m still interested to see who they might send… if they even deem the situation worthy. Otherwise, it might be best if we go our separate ways.”

MYSTERIOUS SWORD
Her attempt at sheathing her blade was thwarted long before it had even been a concept, her eyes narrowed at this point not even surprised. He moved the blade to the side slowly as he spoke, Her breathing was heavy as she listened faintly to his words. Once Hidane released the blade it would simply clatter to the ground in front of Shinpi. It seemed nobody was coming to help, but why not? Something she would have to look into, wasn't this apart of their job? Was she mistaken? Was there even a point then to waiting for backup Soul Society wasn't going to send them when it was requested? And if that was the case then... What was the point of Soul Society? Slowly Shinpi rose, grasping her Zanpakuto in her hand as her other grasped her communicator. Looking down at it for a brief moment before looking back up at Hidane, she sighed softly as she closed her eyes. Her hand slowly began squeezing down on the communicator, Their Balance was not Yojimbo's Balance. Her eyes slowly opened as she stared down at her Communicator, tossing it into the air a few times she sighed. "Their Balance is not mine." She tossed it into the air once more, higher this time, as she grasped her Zanpakuto with both hands, swinging her blade right through the center of the communicator. She could hear Yojimbo in her head, he wanted Balance... He sought Balance. True Balance. Not the false ideals of some orginization, True Balance of all realms. The death of those who would seek to throw off that Balance. Hidane was not a disturbance to this Balance.
Slowly she began to turn around and walk away, Sheathing her Zanpakuto in the process "Do as you wish, Hidane Miura, You will not see me again." Unless he attempted to stop her, Shinpi would simply walk away from the male. "They have shown me what their duties are today, enough so to know that their Balance is not mine." She said to Hidane as she walked away, once she was roughly 30 meters from Hidane her form would vanish in her Shunpo... To who knows where.
