They're both stepping techniques, as I stated prior. "rift walk technique" and "Dark Swap as my free stepping technique".
And specializing in stepping allows for one grand perk, silent stepping and a free costum stepping technique. I made both these techniques on creation of Lillith with a box. So technically, I'm entitled to a third stepping tech, but I stated I want Dark Swap to count as my costum stepping technique, to expend that slot.
