Getting out of the 11th division barracks was easy, those block heads were too busy wrestling on the floor to notice Yorishou Kiyoshi walk out of the front door. The trick was to walk out quickly but not hurried, if you were caught you wanted it to seem natural and not like you are sneaking out. It shut with a muffled click behind him, and by the time a single onlookers eyes caught him in the peripheral vision, he was gone. By the time said onlooker got to the window to check the entrance, Yorishou was long gone into the darkness. Getting down the street was easy, walk like you are meant to be there, division number on display so people were discouraged from noticing him. The 11th division finally working in his favour, people tended to leave them alone for their own convenience, his division had a habit of starting annoying fights that no one had time for. The night was silent apart from the clack of his shoes on the pavement, echoing down the streets, every step threatening to bring the patrols down on his unsanctioned mission. Making his way swiftly down towards the gates, he waited by the houses to the side until a group of Shinigami activated the portal, then as smoothly and nonchalant as he could manage, he slipped through with them.
It was almost too easy to get away from the group, simply darting off as the others did, if his mind was not in other places he may have wondered if it was too easy to get away. Almost as if someone on the inside wanted him to escape the Soul Society and had persuaded them to let him go. But as previously mentioned, he was busy, and so he did not question it. His current train of thought, as he darted and stepped quickly across the varying terrains in the direction of the mountains, was on what lay ahead. The invite letter, now tucked in his inside pocket, urged him towards the mountains, pushing him forwards and singeing his thoughts when they wavered. He knew there would be ruins, he had seen them in his mind, like a photograph from long ago, there were humanoid shapes there, but what they seemed to be defied explanation and so he had discounted the possibility and pushed it from his imagination. Eventually his mind wandered so far he had to shake his head to bring himself back to the present, and found himself travelling at a speed and dexterity he was unsure he possessed, including stepping on the air which he had always been less than proficient at with now seeming ease. However, as soon as he realised, he faltered, tripped and plummeted towards the base of the mountain range, black skin rippling across his body to prevent damage from the fall which receded once he landed safely. Yorishou quickly looked around, the snow and dampness in his clothes seeping off onto the floor, making sure no one had seen that, then nodded and walked off.
The ruins were built into the base of a cliff face, two steep mountains between them as if the very mountain had been split in half by a tremendous force. Rough stone and boulders were strewn across the floors, and embedded into the walls, as if projectiles of some Medevil raid. They came into view as Yorishou moved over the boulders, the first thing to hit him was the sensory block and reiatsu pressure increase. Something was pressing down on him, a slight weight as he walked as if the earth itself was pulling him down, his footsteps were heavier and even his hairs usual untamed mess was flattening. He found the ruins by sensing towards them, but now he could not sense anything, the natural reiatsu pressure in the area radiated out of the ruins and overpowering his own. Yorishou walked on regardless. This felt normal, this felt comfortable even, the reiatsu had eased off a little but still held him close, and it felt somehow cold and warm at the same time, sharp as a stalagmite but smooth as sand. However, he had been promised answers and powers in his dreams, and so he knew what lay ahead if he ignored his discomforts and ignorance. A great circle door lay deep into the mountain, blurry from this distance but looked to be composed of four giant rings of varying shapes of brown.
Yorishou stepped into the ruins, his foot immediately sinking into the floor as a pressure plate sunk down, making a load knocking noise and a groan shook the air. Follow by a roar. His blade was suddenly in his hand with a flash of steel, his stance widenening in a circling patterm and moving deeper into the ruins, waiting for whatever monster he had awakened to jump out. A grinding came from the next area, a low wall smashed down formed a window into the other room and behind it, the wall moved. Yorishou darted backwards but too late as a hand reachs in, a hammer forming on his sword and slamming into the hand with little effect. It faded off as the hand grabbed him, pulling him out of the room and into the open air again. He was lifted up into the air higher and higher. His sword falling out of his hand to the floor below as the pressure increased, both in the hand and reiatsu. All the way up until one large blue crystal eye blinked at him out of a 30ft tall, wide stone golem. It opened its mouth and roared again, Yorishous face felt like it was sliding backwards out of his skull, and worst of all, his hair was officially ruined. It leaned backwards, and threw him over the ruins, he slammed with a sudden crack into one of the boulders near the entrance. Fast followed by the ruin ceiling.
Why was it always Toshi? It had taken him a while but finally he had been accepted into Grad school. And once he was there, he seemed to fit right in. These old ass archaeologists seemed almost like they themselves needed to be in a museum or something. But Toshi enjoyed the whole tweed-jacket-with-elbow-patches thing, it seemed funny. And the research was good, he thought. He was undertaking research into ancient civilizations and their paganistic magic worship. It followed on from his dissertation based on those strange ruins he had explored with that shinigami Mana and the others he had met that time. It seemed how now, just like then, he would be the one sent on a mission to a new ruin. He got bad vibes when his supervisor looked at him with a glint in his steely eye. There was a lot of talk about how "young" and "fit" Toshi was and frankly it worried him. And now his worries were confirmed.
And so, Toshi had been shipped off to Bhutan, with the co-ordinates of a recently discovered ruin and enough instruction on how to arrive safely at his destination. What concerned him the most, perhaps, was that his work was in Magiarchaeology. Of course his supervisors thought the level of risk in these places was generally low, since Toshi was such a strong seeming individual to them. But Toshi knew that he was pretty much small-fry when it came to the spiritual world and these places were always spiritual. Always full of ghosts who were trapped in there and spiritual mechanisms designed to kill you.
So arriving at the mouth of the cave, buried deep in the mountains was the easy bit. The guide that had taken him up had refused to enter the valley, citing that he knew the dangers and if the idiot Japanese kid wanted to get himself killed that was none of his business but he wasn't going to mess with that folklore shit. Toshi thanked him and paid him, before setting off. He wore khaki breeches and shirt, much like the archaeologists of old, coupled with a pith helmet. His backpack was made of canvas, and extremely large, with many items hanging off of it.
He stepped towards the ruins. He noticed the suppression of his reiatsu with a sigh. Yup, it would be one of those. There was a door; presumably the entrance to the true treasures of the mountain but most important was working out how to get rid of all this spiritual crap. He stepped through the door, careful to avoid the pressure plate. Rookie error, that. He began quickly and expertly sketching a map as he ventured inwards, writing down the location of anything notable, and any traps he saw.
He stepped right, through a door into some kind of vestibule or other room, maybe it had been used for storing shoes or hats or coats or something. He wrote all of this down in his expedition notebook. It was then that he noticed the reiatsu of the shinigami approaching him. He frowned. Well hey, at least someone who knew what they were doing would be able to help him, if they didn't just send him away like a stupid child.
Or so he though, anyway. He heard the griding of Yorishou stepping onto the pressure plate. He winced in sympathy. Oh god. This would be anything but good. He heard the roar of some huge beast. There was a cataclysmic noise, and he peered out of the room he was in to see a hand reaching down the corridor to grab Yori, sailing straight past Toshi from his cloak-room cubby hole. The shinigami was grabbed and thrown clear out of the ruins by the enormous golem that then threw the roof after him. Huh, this guy was serious, eh. Toshi, at this juncture, decided that it was best to do a runner. He performed two steps, the first to get him into the main entrance hall and the second to get him well clear of the ruins. He couldn't help but weep internally at the destruction of the otherwise pristine ruins.
"You idiot! You stepped on a damn pressure plate you fatass, and now he took the roof off! That roof was probably more valuable than both our lives!" he shouted angrily. He approached the shinigami who was presumably buried halfway under the rubble and shifted some rocks off of him, and offered him a hand up. "Man I thought a Shinigami would know this shit."

Yorishou groaned from beneath the rubble, his durability mixed with a hard fought reiatsu burst had softened the blow and prevented him from breaking anything, but it was still sore. Through his grunts and heavy breathing he thought he could even hear talking, this made him worried slightly, he must have hit his head harder than he thought if he was hearing voices. But one thing he did know, there was a pissed off giant stone golem out there that had just thrown the roof of the ruins after him, so he could not sit here and wait to get his energy back. Just as he went through his repertoire of techniques, light hit his eyes, which was a strange experience as although he had the intention to clear the rubble from atop him, he was not actually doing it. For a brief moment he wondered if he had been knocked out, and this were the start of some strange dream where he was being rescued by a screaming boy who seemed more worried about the price of the ruins than whether Yorishou was ok or not. Then it clicked.
He accepted the hand out, and with a mighty leap, he cleared the rubble, casting a cursory glance at the giant stone golem that was staring at him with bobbing movements as if the goliath of solid rock was breathing heavily. When he saw it was making no further moves now he was outside of the entrance area, it seemed satisfied with him simply looking. This golem must be the front door guard, keeping his post and only attacking if he got close. This could be...problematic, especially as he had no idea how strong the creature was, just that his stone hammer had no effect on it. Regardless, the boy currently held his attention, he looked and acted human but seeing as he still stood under this pressure he was certainly a spiritual being and that meant he could be anything. If you were to ask Yorishou's imagination that was currently working overtime, it would tell you that this boy who had appeared only after he made his presence known in the ruins was a guide of some sort to take him through the ruins safely. Then he realised he had just been staring at this guy for the last two minutes and should probably say something.
"Valuable? That roof was nothing compared to the treasures that lie under Rocky over there. Though I suppose you already knew that or you would not be here, eh." completely unaware that the boy was an archaeology student and not in fact his guide. He looked down, his kimono clean but ripped up the sides and the hem torn to pieces, pulling it off and revealing his waist jacket and shirt underneath. Casting it onto the pile of rocks behind him and picking his blade up from the floor where he had dropped it upon collision. "And also, what does me being a Shinigami have to do with anything? Are we well known for our affinity for archaeology or something?" casting a wink at him and walking back towards Rocky, he cracked his knuckles and looked over his shoulder. "Are you allowed to help me with him or do I have to do this solo?"
Toshi continued shifting, cursing the shinigami's ineptitude until Yorishou leaped fancifully up. How show-y. What the hell was wrong with this guy. He was kind of a "pretty boy". He looked a bit like... A bit like Zac Efron, he considered to himself. "Ooooooh, Zac Efron..." Kanaboshi said in Toshi's head and he did the mental equivalent of rolling his eyes. The hell was wrong with that girl. He heard Kasei snickering in the back of his mind too, while Ianto remained thoroughly undisturbed by the entire exchange. The guy discarded his shihakusho and was wearing a waistcoat and a shirt. He looked like he belonged in the damned theatre or something. What was up with this guy. He was so weird, even for a shinigami. Usually they were all stoic and martial. Not this dude.
"Wh- Wha!? Hey the ruin might not be valuable to you guys since you're so old and shit and you probably live in ruins like this but for normal humans this is priceless you piece of shit!" he said, before Yori pointed out the golem. Was Toshi... Allowed to help him? What the hell was up with this shinigami. All of a sudden, Toshi felt his right hand yanking upwards. Oh god. Oh god no. Where his hand had been was instead a tiny girl. Her waist joined smoothly to his wrist, just below the navel. She wore a little dress and had bright green hair, and large blue eyes. She looked almost like a hand puppet but she was 100% realistic, and made of flesh.
"Hey mister! I- I can help you defeat it!" Kanaboshi, the spirit on Toshi's hand said. Oh god damn why the hell did he have to say the guy looked like Zac Effron. Zac Effron wasn't even that hot!
"Kasei he's so cute! Like really cute!" Kanaboshi said in Toshi's head. He could feel his other spirit, Kasei, blushing in his head. How the hell did that even work anyway!?
"Aah jeez Kanaboshi. Well whatever. What she said, I'm not going to let you fight that big dumb thing alone, what the hell sorta guy would I be if I let you do that?" he said, determiniedly. He considered activating his "powerup", in order to help him but... Perhaps now was too early in the adventure to do it. So he let it be.

Yorishou's eyebrow raised and a smile snuck onto his face when the kid started insulting him, he was unsure why a guide would be yelling about the money value humans would attach to the ruins. He had imagined maybe some yelling about how he was destroying the kids home, or how he remembered when he walked under that roof. Maybe he would berate him for not defending the ruins as he was here to do something, presumably defend them or kill something that threatened them but definitely not verbal abuse about how expensive the ruins were. However, Yorishou conceded that he was not the guide here, perhaps the humans were the ones who threatened this place or even stranger a thought, maybe this kid was trying to sell the ruins. Perhaps he had been the one who sent the message, though unlikely considering the scrawl the message had been in, but Yorishou could have been called here to get rid of pests or maybe even the front door guard, maybe the sellers could not get past it. If this was the case, he might have some things to say.
"Deeply appreciated" Yorishou murmured to himself, loud enough for the kid to hear it but quiet enough that he did not intend for a reply. He looked intently up at Rocky, gauging its strength and attempting to sense its power levels, he sincerely hoped this overbearing pressure on him at the moment was not coming from that thing. If it was he might have to release, and if the things inside were as strong as out here then he might need to stay released for hours which could be very dangerous for his health. Then turning suddenly around and walking over to the kid to stand in front of him, he looked the kid up and down, glancing at the things on him. "What do you have in mind? I hit that thing with a large hammer and it did not even flinch, don't suppose you have a 10ft chisel or a sack of dynamite on you?" he was unsure if explosives would even work on that thing, but it could not hurt to try if he really did have them. He had always wanted to learn how to use them.
Toshi scratched his head with his free left hand. Kanaboshi looked grumpily at Yorishou, who had effectively completely ignored her. She was only little but Kanaboshi hated being ignored. Toshi simply looked from the shinigami and followed his gaze towards the stone golem thing. Toshi looked at it as well. It certainly looked quite imposing. Kanaboshi let go of her annoyance to examine it also. Toshi wondered if it had any insides. If he could get close enough to pelt it with a few barriers, he could likely send a few of them at it to determine its weak point before sending an explosive one at it, hopefully totally destroying it. But he would need a decoy or a distraction to let him get close enough...
"Hmm... Well not explosives exactly. But I can create an explosion. I have to get close enough to see where it'll be most effective." Toshi explained thoughtfully.
"Zac-Efron-San, if you could distract it, Toshi could get close enough and I could hit it with my Chirasu Hageshiku!" Kanaboshi said from her position on Toshi's wrist, her fists balled and eyes flashing in excitement. That girl loved to explode stuff for sure, Toshi thought to himself.

"Distract it?" Yorishou rolled his shoulders, flexing his fingers on his blade and causing each one to crack in a smooth motion. "I can do that" strolling forwards towards it, Rocky looking down at him out of his one giant purple eye with an emotion as close to anger as a stone golem without facial expressions can get. Yorishou's pace increased, breaking into a jog, as it increased into a charge, his skin turned black. Better safe than sorry after all, last time he was caught in a corner, but this time he had space, and with space comes manoeuvrability.
Rocky's left fist came slamming down as he got within range, Yorishou stepped to the side, grabbing ahold of the side of the fist as the giant checked his fist to see if he had squashed him. He pulled himself up onto the arm and ran up it, the giant slapping at his arm with the other hand. Yorishou slid off the outside of his arm, allowing the hand to slap its left arm and leave Rocky confused yet again. He was not sure what the kid was doing but he had better do it quick, this cat and mouse game was fairly easy to keep up but who knows what other powers this stone golem could have. He landed on the giants foot, planning to hit it with the hammer but remembering the little effect it had last time. Diving to the side just as the giants fist came down, striking his own food and letting out a dull roar as if it could actually feel the pain.
As he came up from the roll he turned around, the right fist that had hit the giants foot was now speeding towards him along the ground, going for a grab. He let it get close, then jumping into the air, he pushed off sideways from the giants fist, leaving it clutching at the air. Yorishou expected it to come after him, maybe move its feet, but it's dirt covered feet were still as anything. Talk about taking your job seriously, if this guy was actually not going to move then destroying it was the only way forwards. As the giant straightened up again, Yorishou ran towards it again, straight between his legs, both hands reaching down and between them for him. Thus the grabbing game began, Yorishou darting just out of reach each time, but this also kept the giants head near the ground and in clear shot for the kid, he would not get a better shot than this, or a better target. After all decapitation is a fairly solid guess when trying to kill most things.
Name: Abyss armour
Class: Hand-To-Hand
Tier: III
Type: Defensive
Range: Self
Description: The user body is covered in a flawless pitch black marble look, that spreads over him from the hands at half-bala speed. When the user strikes or is striked by an object of equal or lower tier, it turns to black marble, and shatters into a natural form of it, not harming the user. The objects include but are not limited to walls, techs, and rolling boulders. Effect does not work against race items(zans, sealed dolls, quincy crosses etc), NPCs or OCs without OOC permission. Tech can be used as a base defensive(just blocks damage up to the tier) against melee, long ranged and h2h attacks. Lasts three posts.
The shinigami seemed pretty comfortable with just leaping straight into the face of danger. Toshi kinda liked that gumption but he guessed that when you were already dead it wasn't exactly like you had much to lose from that sorta thing. Either way, he prepared a barrier on his right hand, sharpening the edge, not that he would be able to realistically make it sharp enough to dink that thing. Bah. Yorishou leapt onto the giant's arm, and Toshi was about to launch the barrier on a straight vector, hopefully completely severing the thing's head, when he felt his right arm being wrenched away, the barrier flying off into the air.
"Watch out Toshi, you're going to hit Zac-Efron-san!" Kanaboshi cried. He cursed. He'd lost his window with her intervention.
"Do you mind dammit?" he asked the green haired sprite who had taken the place of his right hand. "I'm tryna take this thing out!" he said angrily. In the background, Yorishou performed ever more daring acrobatics, getting the thing to strike its own foot. Toshi and Kanaboshi, however, were completely oblivious to the fight occurring behind them.
"But you were gonna hit him! I had to stop you!"
"Aah I wasn't gonna hit him! Or if I did only a little bit, the golem would have got most of it!"
"Aha! So you admit that you were gonna hit him!" as Toshi responded, Yorishou darted in between its legs, barely dodging the hand that came to reach him.
"Guys." Kasei said in their minds, but neither of them were listening.
"Only a little bit dammit, you always get so het up on semantics!"
"Guys!" Kasei said a little louder now, but to no avail.
"Hitting him just a little is still hitting him, numbskull!" The hand appeared to be about to grab onto Yorishou. Kasei acted quickly on Toshi's behalf. His left hand rose while he was busy talking to his right hand, and from it launched a Kasei Death Beam. Kasei didn't have time to aim, she launched it straight at the golem, who happened to bend down and look up just in time for the full force of the Death Beam to hit it straight in the eye.
Toshi and Kanaboshi both looked up, eyes wide at the beam that had come from Toshi's left hand, where Kasei was now manifested. It looked like he had two incredibly lifelike hand puppets who were on his wrists. She looked at them defiantly, as if daring them to challenge the fact that she had taken action.
"Uuh Kasei, are you okay?" Toshi asked her. Hopefully, Yorishou would not be too offended that Toshi had not asked him if he was okay.
{Spoiler}Name: Kasei Death Beam! Class: Reiryoku Technique Type: Offensive Tier: IV Range: 70m Description: This is a large, cylindrical-type beam-attack, which causes physical damage to any and all that come into contact with it. As it is a "death beam" it causes no damage to the environment and as such cannot be stopped by the environment (unless it is spiritually fortified via an item or technique), remaining potent from the point of origin to 70m from where it was fired. It has a diameter of 2m. It causes lacerative damage as well as blunt force trauma for all those caught within the area of effect. It travels outwards from the point of origin at Cero speed.

Yorishou had been expecting the explosion, the ping of stones as they hit the surroundings, the thud as Rocky fell to his knees clutching his face and even the force of the blast as the fallout from the kids power tore through his own defensive and send him flying onto his back. He had not expected the screams.
They wrenched through the air, turning his skin cold, stumbling to his feet, the black gone from his skin and body back to normal, his blade at the ready out of caution and repressed fear. The stone golem was kneeling on his knees, supported by one hand and the other clutching at his shattered eye, the pieces lay strewn around him smoking, some shards embedded in the floor and ruin walls. He could not see the kid, hidden somewhere on the other side of the dust cloud that was still in the process of settling. Yorishou approached Rocky, the stone golem was much too busy wailing to...hear him? Even if the beast still had a sense left the sound this giant was making surely was not the sound of a mere stone animation. Then he saw the feet.
He had seen the awkward angle of the kneeling sure, but who knows the comfort requirements of a stone golem, he had assumed it was just the way it moved. The iron pegs through either foot said otherwise. Yorishou let out a small gasp of astonishment before steeling himself, this thing had tried to kill him, this thing was blocking his path and he could not enter until it was removed from the entrance. He edged closer, moving steadily as the giants cries reduced slowly to muffled sobs and as Yorishou was within striking distance they were little more than a shaking of the shoulders. That was when he realised this giant was here against his will. The iron pegs were to ensure he stayed here to guard the entrance, to ensure that whoever came would have to fight him knowing that he would have to fight back. Cruelty towards such potential was something Yorishou found difficulty standing by and watching.
He walked up to Rocky, his foot hitting a rock under the swirling rocks and the giants head swinging round as it scattered along the floor. Taking two last gulps of what Yorishou assumed was air, which raised all kinds of questions and opening his moss filled mouth. "F'nsh id" he groaned. Yorishou gulped, Rocky turning fully towards him, trying to move his body as much as he could and lowering his head to the floor. Behind the sharp jagged edges of blue crystal was something wrinkled, something almost black in colour with streaks of white going through it, he was no doctor, but damn, that's a brain. Yorishou inhaled, lifting his blade up and adjusting the grip into a stance that gave him greater reach. He hesitated for a second too long, the giant raising a massive fist and slamming the ground "K'IW ME!" Yorishou stabbed forwards, Rocky shuddered as the blade hit its mark, his mouth opening and closing slowly. " 'ank ooo" he mumbled softly before going slack. "Rest at last guardian of stone, your watch is over at last." Yorishou mumbled, his heart feeling as heavy as Rocky's had been.
After wrenching his blade free, he started walking slowly down the tunnel, his face grim and pace steady. He intended to get answers, and if the kid wanted them too, he could catch up.
The two guardians on Toshi's hands went quiet as they heard the golem thing scream. It was an unearthly, ungodly sound. That wasn't the sound that some random thing cobbled together with a bit of magic made. That was the sound of a being that was able to feel pain and suffering. Had Toshi done that to it? Rather, had Kasei? She looked up at Toshi, her large brown eyes filled with concern. Through sheer force of will, he dispelled his two hogo-sha from his hands. He didn't want either of them to have to experience this if it was really all that bad. The smoke was clearing gradually and he headed into it, wary of an attack of some description.
"Hello?" he called, into the dust. When he went through he saw the corpse of the giant stone beast lying prone upon the ground. It had been stabbed through the head. Jeez, that was dark. He could just about make out the shinigami walking down the tunnel. What the hell was with this guy!? Toshi used his step to catch up, the roadrunner-type noise echoing through the passageway as he did so. Did this dumb shinigami really intend to just head into the ruin with no light source? Toshi got out his torch from his backpack and clutched his pith helmet to his head as he chased down Yorishou.

Yorishou saw the light flash behind him, while he still could not feel the boys energy he knew that light was of an unnatural source, the sharpness of it and strange patterns of it told him it was a flashlight. His mind was racing through all kinds of thoughts, wondering if he should turn back, every step making him doubt himself more and more until the tunnel stopped and so did he. It took his eyes a few seconds to drag his train of thought forwards so it could address the big ass circle door in front of them, spiral patterns going through it, four circles on it with pictures on each one. The outer circle was the darkest brown, a crude bust of the golems head set in it, the second was a lighter brown and had the symbol of a sword on it, the third was a shorter sword that lay diagonally, the fourth was the centre circle, and in it was a jewel encrusted picture of a crown. While Yorishou was considered to be the leading expert on breaking rocks, he knew very little about each type, but it did not take an expert to know the jewels would fetch a small fortune. The fact they had not been stolen, and the thick layer of dust covering everything confirmed what he already suspected. They were the first to be here for a good while.
Yorishou looked at the boy behind him, then moved towards the door, as his guide he assumed the boy would tell him if he was doing something wrong. Or would supply some kind of information when he tried to do something that was inadvisable or breached some ancient custom. Maybe not dusting your shoes off before entering was punishable by death here, who knows. But he would get nowhere by second guessing everything he did. As he reached up to touch the stone golems face, the mouth opened, and in a deep booming voice that shook dust and stones loose from the ceiling. "STATUS OF DEFENDER: DEFEATED. CHALLANGER, STEP FORWARDS." Yorishou took that to mean him, stepping backwards instead as forwards would mean head-butting the wall. The face must have been thinking the same thing as it looked at him, thinking for a second then grunting approval. The outer ring crumbled away, revealing a black circle of iron behind it, Yorishou moved backwards a little to avoid being pelted by stones. "CHALLANGER, PRESENT YOUR OFFERING TO THE PEOPLE" this confused Yorishou a little "All I have is myself and my sword, I am afraid I brought nothing to offer". The stone face grinned in such a way that unsettled Yorishou "OFFER ACCEPTED, CHALLANGER: YORISHOU KIYOSHI" he blinked as the stone face said his name. Apparently he was indeed expected, though what he had just offered was beyond him, was the face going to take his zanpakutou. "If he takes me, you have failed." Yorishou smirked his resolute response, she thought so little of him.
The stone face turns to Toshi as the second layer with the sword crumbled away to reveal a layer of silver. "WITNESS, STEP FORWARDS. STATE YOUR ROLE AND INTENTIONS. ARE YOU TO PARTICIPATE FOR A ROYAL BOON OR OBSERVE? YOUR PREVIOUS ACTIONS NOTWITHSTANDING". Yorishou did not look at him, he understood the question and would leave him to decide by himself. "There is no shame in turning back now friend, your help so far is appreciated, but it seems neither of us know what lies beyond that door, and I cannot promise you will survive whatever comes." It seemed the boy was not in fact his guide, but perhaps invited to be his witness of whatever challenge would face them both. The bust was asking whether the kid would help him and be rewarded for risking his life or watch and simply act as confirmation of his actions. He had no intention of making the kid guilty, so by not looking he allowed the boy to shake or nod his head should he choose privacy without judgement.
