The gravel crunched under Aien's feet as he and his Zanpakutou Spirit continued talking. Aien being unaware of what has transpired with his physical body. "...So yeah there's actually this other joke that I actually remember Kyle telling me before. Um what was it..." Aien was speaking while pondering on what he should have remembered because it was actually something unexpected from Kyle's words. Meanwhile the woman who was standing maybe a meter away from Aien kept her soft smile while her proud and powerful eyes radiate a warmth. Honestly it was like the same kind of warmth from Aien's mother, or at least that is the vibe Aien is getting.
"One day, a little boy wrote to Santa Claus: Please send me a sister. Santa Claus wrote him back: Ok, send me your mother." The whole time Aien had this grin on his face because that's actually somewhat how Aien has a younger sister. Although it was just Aien saying that he was curious on what having a little sister would be like, and about nine months later Kurumi was born. Plus his parents wanted a second child anyways after Aien was of course old enough to understand. Still the woman chuckled lightly with her eyes full of amusement as this meeting has just been full of entertainment for the Zanpakutou Spirit. "Honestly... Isn't this friend of yours that hopeless romantic that keeps getting rejected?" She asked and Aien nodded his head to confirm that assumption. "Unfortunately, though I've tried to get him to focus on just himself, but of course he never listens to me."
She shook her head before sighing with a smile still on her lips. "Some people will keep striving for something they don't have. Although I suppose I can understand where Kyle is coming from though on not listening to you." Aien raised a brow as if he was silently stating his curiosity has been risen and she chuckled once more. "He is looking for a companion to live the rest of his life with, and in truth life is indeed short. However from what I am understanding you haven't even asked anyone out on a date correct?" Aien reluctantly nodded his head in agreement, and he realized that he was being lectured by his own soul about relationships. "I just don't see the point in it. I've heard how its like a double edged sword to where it can be the worst pain in the ass to the most beautiful event in one's life. I just don't possess the time nor room for that kind of thing."
"How cold coming from a self-proclaimed 16 year old." The woman teasingly mocked Aien as his face grew warm from the tease. "I am 16 years old, my age hasn't gone up yet." She shook her head before rolling her eyes as the woman shifted her weight from one leg to the other. "I wasn't referring to your actual age silly. I was referring to how you sounded like an old hermit who lived his life under a rock. Why not just broaden your views a little bit more?" A logical advice to better comprehend something, and Aien is aware that she isn't just referring to relationships. She's referring to looking into someone's intentions and show compassion to those who needs it. Kyle is just an example of what needs to be done, and in truth Aien knows what he's been doing wrong this whole time. "See? Oh, and by the way you're being called. We shall continue our conversations later, and I bid you farewell Aien."
What Aien first heard was an odd silence, like there was not even a heartbeat to be heard. Gradually, there was an ominous beep that occurred every five seconds as Aien counted the gap between each beep. It grew louder and louder until it sounded like it was just over his head. Aien felt like there was something hugging onto his face, and something warm was cupping around his right hand. There was muttering in a short distance from the sounds of it, and an occasional sob much closer that came from his right side. Aien finally cracked open his eyes and realized how hurt just his face really is. He felt stiff and sore all over his body.
The beeps became slightly more rapid as the muttering came to a hush. Aien took the moment to gather his thoughts as he honestly felt like shit. Sitting beside Aien was actually his mother who was actually wearing a beautiful kimono that Aien hasn't seen since his parents' anniversary of their marriage. Then again it was just for anniversaries as she would wear on special occasions such as the festivals. His mother once wore makeup, but the eyeliner can be seen tainting her blush as tears streamed down her face. "...Mom...?" Aien gathered the strength to speak and is immediately embraced by his mother. Though that just hurt him more to be honest, but he didn't say anything as he bared his teeth to stifle whatever reaction he was about to have. Coming around the corner of an opened doorway is Aien's father, uncle, Kurumi, a few of the dojo's students, some of the Student Council including Kyle and Ochiru. And actually a few other students from the school as well that Aien has helped out in the past.
Of course Aien was actually surprised to find that soul puppy still wondering around in the Human World as it could be found laying on Aien's feet. It barked happily while wagging its tail and hurried over to lick on Aien's face. Honestly Aien has technically been gone for about two days now and almost spent the third day just sleeping. Yet everyone is acting like they're relieved and happy. Aien assumed that he must have made everyone worry, though that was a given since he knows these people especially his family of all things. Then his mother parted from her son with a stern look on her face and immediately started speaking in a firm and strong tone. It was a tone that his sweet mother never used unless Aien did something very bad to cause her to become this angry. Aien flinched a little at the tone as he realized he had some tubes in his arms and had an oxygen line in his nose. The beeping was his heart rate as the heart detectors were placed on his chest under the robe he is wearing.
"Where have you been Aien?! You better start explaining yourself because I swear to whatever God is listening to me I'll find these people who did this to you!" His mother spoke in a stern voice as everyone pursed their lips as it seemed like they were about to say something similar. His father and uncle especially is furious, and to Aien's surprise his grandfather walked through the door last while possessing that air of authority that was almost heavy. It wasn't spiritual pressure weighing Aien down, it was just something abnormal about his grandfather that just trying to look into his grandfather's eyes Aien was forced to look elsewhere. "I... don't know... I was doing an art piece for the Art Club's project... But... All I remember was blacking out after a while... Maybe I inhaled too much of the fumes?"
That was when Aien got slapped really hard across the face as everyone excluding his grandfather looked a bit surprised. His mother had raised her hand and slapped him pretty hard as she didn't seem to care that he was still hurt. "Don't you dare lie to me Aien! I'm not going to repeat myself and my patience is running on a short fuse tonight. So you better tell me the truth this instant!" Now it was Aien's turn as tears started to flow down on his cheeks, for the slap despite how hard it was didn't actually physically hurt aside from the fact that his face was sore. However emotionally it was like someone took a sledgehammer and took a pretty nasty swing at Aien's foundation and it is making him crumble emotionally. Luckily one of the nurses showed up with a knock on the door frame before speaking in a hushed tone. "I don't know what is going on here, but you better keep it down. There are other patients out here who are trying to recover." His mother let out a short sigh, but her anger was not sated. So his father walked up to Aien's mother to carefully place a hand on her shoulder before whispering. "Come on, let's get some fresh air and calm down for a minute."
The moment she felt her husband's warmth on her shoulder Aien's mother once angry expression crumbled as well into sobbing. Without speaking further, both Aien's mother and father walked out of the room. Aien's grandfather turned to the rest of the people in the room and spoke in a firm tone that carried power that everyone felt almost compelled to obey. "Please excuse us for a few minutes. I'd like to speak to my grandson in private." So everyone reluctantly exited the room as Kurumi closed the door behind her as she was the last one out. Now here comes the very hard part for Aien, for Omni is Aien's grandfather and has always been able to see past Aien's future without fail. Still, the weathered old man took a seat next to Aien and took a moment to take a deep breath before speaking in a surprisingly softer tone. "I apologize for my daughter-in-law's outrage. She's been very worried about you ever since word has reached us that you went missing. You could even say that your mother hasn't even slept for three days now because she wanted to welcome you home when you returned. Everyone was out searching for you, combing through every part of the Karakura Town, but we couldn't find you. To be honest we were all under the impression that we would never see you again, but then just last night we received a call from the hospital saying that they found a teenage boy all beaten up and strangely near the hospital."
Omni was basically explaining of the stress Aien's disappearance has been on everyone and how worried everyone was. Even the Student Council as a whole were feeling guilty about his disappearance, but Aien was quick to say that it wasn't their fault. In truth, Aien felt a bit satisfied despite the fact that he's hurt all over. "It most certainly wasn't their fault, for they couldn't have known of what would happen. No one can predict the unexpected like this, and neither can I. That's why the future always remain uncertain as it has yet to written, but the past is always certain because like a book it has been written in ink. If anything, I have to admit that I've never felt better." Omni took a moment looking into Aien's eyes disregarding the big red mark on Aien's cheek where Aien's mother had slapped him. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but I get the sense you have found something within yourself. Something that's making you whole more or less. I can't place it, but before your always had this uncertainty about you like you didn't know what path you wanted to take. Now when I look into your eyes I see a fire of youth being lit for what feels like a long time. Like you've finally found your path that you wanted to take." Aien looked a bit surprised at first, but just as he assumed Aien figured that Omni of all people would be able to see something in Aien. Instead Aien smiled before responding. "I suppose you can say that another path has been opened for me to take, and all I need to do is build the first steps so that I can fully walk on it."
Omni chuckled before smacking the butt of his cane onto the marble floor twice. Following up on the sound Kurumi opened the door with her eyes practically singing with relief, but she kept a formal expression as if addressing a noble. "Yes sir?" Omni looked over to his granddaughter with his wary eyes before answering. "We're done here. You all can come in now." The rest of the time was spent of being asked the same questions of where Aien was and how did he get beaten up so bad. In truth Aien couldn't really tell them exactly as all he claim to remember was being blindfolded for the duration of the kidnapping. Which wasn't a lie for there honestly wasn't much to tell other than there was lots of pain involved. He most definitely won't say anything spiritual related, so it just sounds like a group of thugs kidnapped Aien for a few days, beat him up a good bit, and had the curtesy enough to drop Aien's unconscious body next to the hospital before taking off. It would be an additional hour that passed before everyone excluding the dead puppy was forced to leave since visiting hours were over for the night.
