Grocery shopping. You didn't really expect to get into life and death, soul-on-the-line battles with unliving monsters while grocery shopping. No, that kind of thing was something that happened on rooftops in the chill, moonlight night, or atop storm-ravaged mountains at the far end of the world. Walking out of the market with a bag full of everyday foodstuffs just didn't have the right ring to it. Plus, it was hard to unleash your super moves when you had to worry about cracking the eggs and/or civilians nearby. But then, Chakra supposed Hollows need to shop for groceries as well, in a sick way. Not content to be put in the same category as a box of crackers, the supposedly off duty substitute shinigami sighed a bit as she felt a nearby sickly energy. The entropic soul was definitely a hollow; Chakra had never encountered anything with anything even resembling that sort of unhealthy power flow. Shaking her head a bit, she picked up the pace and moved into the back of the building, gradually raising her own spiritual pressure to serve as bait. Apparently more interested in fishing than shopping, the hollow seemed to take the bait and made after her into the abandoned part of the lot. No cameras, that she could see. Decent enough.
You do know humans aren't on sale this week? You'd be better off checking a flier or something before showing up. History had seen better taunts, but you worked with what you were given. The hollow made no indication of understanding her as it slithered into view on the building's roof. Yes, very snakelike, albeit one larger than your average minivan. White mask, heavy scales, ludicrously oversized fangs...the only thing not so reptilian on the creature was the pair of fairly human arms right below the mask. Creepy. Placing her purchased dinners-to-be, Chakra stepped aside while dropping into a stance. Just because she couldn't see a camera didn't mean there wasn't someone watching after all, and performing air-fighting was much easier to explain than seeming to faint entirely. Lunging down the wall with little regard for strategy or the laws of gravity, the monster opened its jaws larger than one might guess and lunged forward. Leaping to the left, the monster's fangs struck concrete with a hiss, not of the throat but of the chemicals oozing out the too-large teeth. Posion, then. Joy. And as it turned, it managed to unknowingly crush her recent purchase. Fantastic. Positioning herself for another dodge, Chakra made ready for a quick counterattack after its next jab.
Yet, the seventh division's representative was on duty. It didn't take him long to feel the nauseating presence of a hollow. Shortly after, his cellphone indicated the same. The conclusion that there was a hollow nearby. He sighed slowly, yet, felt besides the hollow another presence work up. Roughly twice as light as his own spiritual pressure. Yet impressive enough for him to actually notice it. But, that other presence didn't belong to a hollow or an arrancar, as far as he could tell. But, that wasn't the problem now. He appeared above the hollow, above the human that emanated the reiatsu that had him wondering. He took a deep breath as he disrupted the reishi underneath his feet, accelerating in a downwards drop.
He dissappeared from sight when he was a solid two meters above the hollow. The snakelike creature turning to search for the presence. Within an instant, the substitute shinigami reappeared right above the hollow's face, a trial of condensced reishi behind him, he turned in the air, positioning for a tremendous heelkick. With a sickening crunch, the hollow's throat was hit by said kick. Launching it down to the ground, not even allowing it to attack Chakra. "Tch." He murmured under his breath as he pulled the enourmous blade from his back and flinging it down at the creature.
The hollow smacked into the ground. Soon after, the concrete almost seemed to explode as the sword pierced through the mutated reptile's mask, shattering and, in the epicentre, completely turning to dust. The substitute landed behind the blade, sighing slightly. Might've overdone it this time. Shouldn't throw the sword with the fucking gauntlet, he thought to himself.
Said gauntlet grabbed the hilt of the enourmous zanpakutou, pulling it from the ground. The belt attached to the blade seemed to wrap around him on it's own, fastening on itself. He pat of his pants and turned to the woman. "Yo."
Constant release perk: Overwhelming Power: This buff is an incomplete cap left on the compression of power, causing for explosive torrents of reiatsu to surge around the user. This form of ability causes reiatsu sensing abilities to scramble when in the presence of the user, and also gives their overall speed and strength a 2x boost [not affecting steps]. The primary perk of this form is that it allows the user to practically use their overflowing reiryoku as a weapon. Most commonly found as waves of energy with the swing or focus of the Shikai of varying power, along with an increase in pressure by 50%.
Name: Poison sting Class: Shikai Ability Type: Passive Range: Close Tier: I Description: With the overwhelming power perk, the length of Hebikiba can run up to 2.5 meters, cutting with pure reiatsu, the cuts of the blade leaves scorches, no wounds. Because of it's poisenous nature, the cuts of the blade inflicting extra pain due to the poison, the heavy burning pain lasts for two posts, leaving acid burns and eventually scars.
Name: Immunity Class: Shikai Ability Type: Passive/augmentive Range: Personal Tier: II-IV Description: The zanpakutou makes Raiden immume to his own posion and acid. Raiden is immume to any tier II poison and acid based attacks, if activated, up to tier IV poison and acid based attacks can be negated for up to 5 posts, this has a 10 post cooldown. After 5 posts of activation, Raiden still has his passive immume to tier II and his own.
Name: Body warp Class: Human stepping Type: Stepping Range: up to 100 meters Tier: I Description: Focussing on the reiatsu under his feet, he propels himself towards given direction at great speed, marking said place with a faint glow from his reiatsu. This is near instant and can be classified as teleportation. This can also be used in shinigami form. There does not have to a glow of reiatsu when he uses his zanpakutou as anchor for this technique.
Name: Shunpo (Flash Steps) Class: Stepping Type: Stepping Range: N/A Tier: I Description: A movement technique that allows the user to move extremely quickly over short distances. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. Therefore what determines the level of skill in a user for Shunpo is best characterized by how fast one can get from A to B in the least amount of steps. Auto-gained for Shinigami at ML.
Name: Hakai-tekina kyūryū (Destructive torrent) Class: Offensive armor melee item Tier: V Range: Personal Description: The armor and glove being placed around Raiden's left arm only. The gauntlet is attached to the armor. Hakai-tekina kyūryū channels part of the user's reiatsu into the glove, and gives a punch with it one deadly edge. The armor mostly was made to protect the used from the strain it puts, and it does so succesfully, the glove deactivating after a set amount to not put too much strain on the user. The armor able to recieve a lot of blows sucessfully, without losing substantial agility is always an advantage. This item persists through bankai. The glove can block physical strikes from tier V Ability: Changes the first 5 punches that connect into tier V hits., blocks up to tier V physical hits. Cooldown/Drawback: 2 posts cooldown after 5 tier V hits connect. Being on cooldown, however, doesn't mean Raiden can't punch you with it, the cooldown does also not affect the armor rating.
Name: Frost queen's claim Class: Offensive melee item Tier: V Range: Personal Description: As the arrancar, Fryst Dronning tore off Raiden's arm, she soon after felt regret, and re-gifted his arm through ice and reiryoku. Hebikiba immediatly took sovereignity of the reiryoku in the gifted arm, and, so, giving it special properties. Ability: The skin around the blade shreds open and reveals the ice, wich reforms into a poisenous ice-blade. This blade is bankai-tier and deals tier V strikes. This blade is channeled through with Raiden's reiatsu and thus, works with the poison sting and Caustic poison passive. This can only happen once per thread, when the arm is released and destroyed, it regenerates in five posts. When it is sealed and destroyed, it regenerates withing two posts. Cooldown/Drawback: The arm has shikai durability in its sealed state. This item persists through, is usable and can be activated during bankai.
Name: Kazaguruma [風車, "Windmill"] Class: Hand to hand Type: Offensive. Range: Self. Tier: III Description: Kazaguruma is comprised of two movements, one is which the user flashes into the air at 3x natural speed, leaving a trail of the condensed physical energy behind them, before flashing out with a hard kick at a target knocking them away, up to 50 meters to be specific. Kazaguruma can be used in any manner, either in a frontal kick, sideways, backwards, any numerous amounts of ways to utilize it, and can be used to set up an advantage.
Battle conditions had a way of changing extremely rapidly, particularly where the supernatural got involved, so it was both surprising and not at all unusual for the sudden intrusion into the battle. Instinct said "ally", her brain eventually catching up on the reasoning. Not only was the figure attacking a hollow decisively, she could feel that odd mix of shingigami and human energy she was normally awash in herself. Dead but breathing. It was strange to see it in someone else, when you were so used to just your own aura.
Not wanting to waste a perfectly good opening, Chakra charged in to deal a blow while the creature's head was turned, but it turned out she needn't have bothered. The stranger had things well in hand, ending her opponent swiftly, if messily. The hollow's disappearance signified the end of the issue, although she couldn't help but stare at the impact point. Raising an eyebrow, her face twisted into a sardonic position.
Your epic quest to slay the defenseless ground proceeds abreast, I take it? Shame the hollow got in the way. She laughed a bit at her own joke, shifting into a more relaxed stance. It wasn't a completely peaceful one, given that she didn't know this person and he had just demonstrated his ability to use a comically over-sized blade.
Thanks. You from HQ directly, or just dropping in? she said casually, not quite volunteering her name. This person probably worked for Soul Society, but given the oath of loyalty they made you swear when you signed up, she expected there was a reason they didn't mention anything about a severance package. Bad idea to get any ideas into recruit's heads. Rogues were a possibility, but for the moment, Chakra did her usual thing: go with the flow, see where it all heads.

He casually lifted his hand in the rather nonchalant greeting he had made towards the woman he just. Well. Saved. She seemed like she could handle it. Assisted? Yeah. Assisted. Lowering his hand again, the woman gave her, funny, yet true critique. "Yeah.. I'll get the bastard one time." He replied to the joke, grinning softly. None of his body language, his stance or pose would indicate any hostility. "Just droppin' in, doin' my rounds." He said. "Raiden Saitou. Seventh squad representative substitute shinigami." He said as he grabbed his badge from underneath his shihakushou, holding it up briefly with the armored hand. "I'm terribly sorry fer yer loss, by the way." He said, nodding towards the squished groceries, a sly grin on his face.
"And you are?" He asked. A human with power, ofcourse. But, there was something off. Asking about 'HQ' could indicate that she knew about the soul society. He didn't make a move to approach the woman, he was armed and had a far greater reach. That and he wasn't in the mood for fighting a human. So, he kept his distance and rather observed for now. A hiss through his head agreeing upon that sentiment. Cautious and distant. He'd see any moves coming if it'd get down to combat.
Chakra's stance eased into a more casual, comfortable position when she saw the substitute badge. While it wasn't technically a guarantee, that was still a pretty good indicator that he was on the level. She slipped her hand into her side pouch, withdrawing her own representative symbol.
Chakra, unassigned representative. To be frank, she hadn't even known that the 13 squads actually had substitutes assigned. The whole point seemed to have people who lived on Earth to allow for faster response times and shored up manpower. She certainly didn't spend very much time in the afterlife, although she supposed it was certainly permitted. To them, being a shinigami was a state of being. To her, it was a part time job. Maybe he spent more time "dead" than she did? Or perhaps particularly skilled ones got adopted into a specific squad. That was interesting.
And thank you for your kind words of consolation. I'll be sure to hold a eulogy for them. Probably involving omelets. She looked with half annoyance at the egg-stained remains of what should have been her next few lunches. Ah well, such was the life of a supernaturally empowered half ghost bent on preserving existence from the worst of mankind's super predators.
For right now, though, she was curious. She'd never met another substitute before, although she'd figured there were a fair few of them. She would have expected them to be spread across the world, but then, Karakura was always lit up with something weird going on, if you knew to look for it. A bit more concentration would be expected. But since she had never really seen another one before, why not take the opportunity to talk?
Haven't seen you around, but you're obviously not new to this. How's ghost hunting treating you?

He saw how the woman relaxed her stance, the wariness slowly dissappearing from her pose. Good. It wouldn't come to blows this time around. "Nice meetin' you, Chakra-san." He said as the woman stated her name. Resting his hands on the white obi sash around his waist, Raiden took a more casual pose. "Hm. Hope yer buyin' new ones for those omelets." He said with a chuckle. "Last time I ate eggs from the floor. Well, din't end well 'n I was kinda drunk." He said, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly. Might've been something he shouldn't have said. Then again, shame wasn't really a feeling Raiden had quickly.
"How's ghost huntin'.." He took a deep breath. "Well, ya get to save innocent grocery shoppers who turn out to be quite strong.." He smirked slightly. "Nah. These things come 'round, fuck shit up 'n dissappear again. Just gotta stop 'em from gettin' here." He nodded. "They're not overly strong these days." He said, before his eyes widened. "Fuck.. My human body.." He started, looking back to the rooftop. "Where did I leave it.." He murmured to himself. Cursing himself for rushing out and not recalling where his body was. People always said he would forget how to breathe once.
Chakra quirked an eyebrow at the mention of eggs a-la dirt. Must have been pretty drunk at the time. She wasn't really one of those “purity of body to he point of I'm not allowed to get smashed because screw fun” types, but while Chakra considered herself possessing a fairly robust constitution, her alcohol tolerance in particular was abnormally low. At least she was a fairly happy drunk, most of the time. Or so she was told. Last time, she'd ended up starting a pants fight with some random, equally drunk person from the local watering hole.
At any rate, it looked like her would be savior had lost something of value. Well enough, that just gave her a chance to pay back the favor. He'd come from the rooftop, so that was a good place to start. If nothing else, the view might give him a chance to spot his erstwhile mortal coil. Looking about, she spotted a sound way up without ejecting from her body. Hop on top of that truck, jump onto that ledge, pull self up, jump rest of way. Her grip was very strong and the usual damage that one might sustain (from success or failure) would be mitigated by her particular talents. Just make sure nobody was around, sans the other shinigami....Nope, that would work. Several seconds later, Chakra made use of the body control of a master marital artist to begin the scaling process. She might have considered doing this more often, if it weren't pretty illegal. Reaching the top, she turned back on the assumption that she'd been followed up.
I take it you could at least point in the general direction?

"Fuck.." He muttered again as he rubbed the back of his head. Losing his human body was pretty bad news. He cursed his own name in anger as he saw how his new acquaintance immediatly started to scale the walls and head for the top of the building. He sighed slightly, a shunpo carrying up to halfway the building where Chakra was, an arm around her waist and a kick on the side of the building initiating a second shunpo with her in, pulling her to the top immediatly and putting her down on the ceiling, walking towards the center. "Just gotta ask fer' a lift. Ain't sayin' no to a dame such as yerself." He noted with a sly smirk, before turning back to the task at hand.
Finding his mortal coil. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes and trying to retrace his steps. "Err.." He only murmured under his breath as he tried to recall where he dumped his body. "Was jus' taking a stroll 'round the block. Smokin'. Felt a spiritual pressure.." He took a deep and pained breath. "The current whereabouts o' my body, I think, are at the back alley of my appartement. Probably" And if murphy's law had it's way, he was probably between trashcans in a manner most ridicoulous and unhygiënic. He pulled a bittersweet grin. "If ya help me find it, I'll buy you a drink."
Chakra would have struggled a bit more against the sudden and unannounced confinement, but shunpo didn't really give one the option of doing so until it was already done. If she'd been that keen on using a step, she'd have hopped out of her own body. Still, it was meant to be gesture of decency, so that was how it was taken. The weirder part was the way he spoke. "Dame"? What was this, the Roaring Twenties? Then again, it was entirely possible that he literally was from that period. Shinigami aged slowly. The implication that came along with that, she she herself might do the same, was something rather new and interesting. Not that it mattered all that much, seeing as she was already technically dead.
The announcement that he'd just so happened to remember where it was and the invitation made her roll her eyes, albeit with an accompanying smile. Well, that's probably the most convoluted way someone has ever asked to buy me a drink. I'll help, but I'd recommend not reading anything into it. Best to smash any mixed signals right then and there. It wasn't a bad way to spend a little while, and after the annoyance of loosing her groceries, she could use a moment of relaxation. Or a hunt for a body, if this went wrong. It wasn't impossible that someone might find the "corpse" and things might get complicated. And hilarious.

He stood on the roof, looking at Chakra, rolling his shoulders. "Well, I din't really mean anythin' by it. Sorry if it came 'cross like that. Just offered a drink as two colleagues on the quest for a lost body." He said, scratching his neck awkwardly. "I'm not that type-a guy. I dun' make moves on people I just met." He said, sighing lightly. "Here's hopin' that's its still there and not picked up or summin'." He had already been taken away by an ambulance, managed to hop into his body right before he was driven off. "I should be more careful.." He murmured to himself with a bitter grin. "It's 'round 500 meters that way." He explained loudly, notioning his head in 'that way'.
"Well. We should be gettin' there soon." God. Or whatever all seeing creature. Knew what happened to his body. He sighed as he started walking into said direction, hands lazily on his obi sash. Using the simple manipulation of reishi to close the gaps between building, walking on thin air. It could've gone faster if he went to use shunpo, but, then again, there wasn't much of a hurry behind it. His body wouldn't run away. It would be very morbid if it did so. Morbid and annoying. He glanced over his shoulder to check whether his colleague was following.
Well, at least it was close by. Something to be said for that, Chakra supposed, as she made ready to move afterward. Walking on air was only sort-of something she could do. Not willing to let her own body rot on the roof, she eased into the Hand of Creation stance, as a precaution for her inevitable touchdown. Her bones would thank her for not snapping like dry twigs. Best to avoid notice while they were at this, as well. Syncronizing her soul with her spiritual energies, she felt her mind swell slightly. A moment's more focus, and Curving Light was cast. She allowed a bit of her spiritual energy to slip out deliberately, so Raiden could feel her coming. A step into the air, and Frozen World carried her as well as Shunpo would have from roof to roof. Her natural athleticism did the rest. She quickly caught up to her fellow substitute, continuing on their way in the direction he'd indicated.
Arrival was easy enough. The trip wasn't long, and being up top gave them an easier time than the ground did. That was one of the nice things about being super-powered. The area wasn't a location Chakra was herself familiar with, so she hopped down onto the ground and dropped the veil.
Now, where to begin... She started looking around for someone who looked like Raiden, but dead.
Post by RAIDEN SAITOU on Jul 29, 2015 19:47:22 GMT
He stood on the building next to his appartement, glancing at Chakra if she had followed. His hands were resting on his obi sash in a casual manner as he hopped down the three story tall building, landing in the side alley with the loud clunking of metal on the floor, yet a gentle thud from himself. He looked around, arching an eyebrow. "Where the fuck is it.." He murmured under his breath. Sirens blared, originating from an ambulance. Raiden dashed out of the back alley. "Don't fuckin' take it!" He said as he rushed over, only to stop and spot an old man being taken. "That's Amachi-san.." He murmured to himself. "False alarm." He called out casually towards his fellow substitute shinigami. "It ain't my body. It's the guy that lives below me with heart problems." He said, thinking to himself that he should make a trip to the hospital with flowers.
"But. That ain't gonna do." He said to himself. "Chakra. You got any results already?" He looked over to wherever the female substitute shinigami was, sighing and approaching her. It was a pain, it seemed to be not around here. "Well, guess we gon' have to widen our search, no?" He asked when he stood eye to eye with Chakra. "It ain't where I thought it to be."
Chakra wasn't close enough to pic up the situation with the older man, which was good since it would have confused her (what with her sharing the same family name). What she discovered was enough to keep her attention however. While no master tracker, this dusty old ally gave her a massive hint. Here, propped against a wall, was the outline of a body that she was pretty sure would roughly match her comrade. More worryingly, it wasn't there anymore, but there was the telltale marks of legs being dragged. Something or someone had apparently pulled the "corpse" away some distance to the end of the ally, whereupon the tracks suddenly stopped and wheel marks began. That...bodded ill. When Raiden arrived, she pointed out her findings.
Real life body snatchers, what do you know. I don't know precisely what someone would want with a corpse, but I'm guessing it won't be pleasant. Some spirit creatures might have a use for it. If it's mundane though... She wasn't about to make too many suggestions there. Organ harvesting wasn't exactly a big business in this town, but that just made the small supply seem disproportionate to the demand. A smart criminal could make a bit of money, if they were lucky enough to stumble on a body. This could get messy. Still, she felt something in the air. A trail of an altogether different sort.
You feel that? There's something in the air here...
Post by RAIDEN SAITOU on Aug 11, 2015 19:44:39 GMT
"Oh. Shit. Organ harvesters?" He took a deep breath. "This is gettin' more n' more like some sci-fi manga shit." He let the deep breath escape through his nostrils slowly. "That doesn't really sound good, I'd rather not be losin' my body to either some spiritual thin's or organ harvesters." He put his hands on his obi sash, it seemed to be his casual and laid back pose. Although this wasn't a situation to be either of those. He frowned, then arched an eyebrow in a quizzical manner. "What'cha mean, something in the air?" He asked opening his, rather weak, sensory abilities completely open. He didn't know what his fellow substitute shinigami meant with 'something in the air'.
"All that's in the air fer me is the scent of garbage that wasn't picked up two days ago. Someone didn't take out the trash." He murmured to himself, reminding himself to check the sheet who's turn it was. But, something in the air, he didn't feel or sense a thing, nor did his phone give any indication that there was a hollow present. "Maybe ya gotta change to yer shinigami form. Better fightin' capacities if it comes down to that." He looked towards his colleague, wondering whether she had brought her badge.
No, I think it best if we don't leave another corpse in exactly the same place one was taken. I can feel just fine in here. But... It was her spiritual sense picking up the trail, but one of her body's abilities would make this simpler regardless. Closing her eyes, Chakra allowed Manipura to...not activate, so much as take its effect. It didn't feel like an action, more like a passive acceptance. Entering a moving meditation, she felt her surroundings more intensely than with sight alone. Yes, there was definitely something here recently. And it had left a trail.
This shouldn't be a problem to follow. It would likely be easier with a vehicle, since flash stepping is out of the question and I can't follow this without my body... She spoke, eyes still shut, voice more serene. She could pick up the details at quite a distance. Moving point to point might be their only option.
I can follow, but we're on a time crunch. Follow along from above, and watch out for threats? I can dodge pretty well, even without vision, but it'll go much faster if I can focus purely on tracking. I doubt whoever took your body will be willing to give it back easy. If it's humans, there will probably be guards. If it's not...well, there still might be some obstacles that need to be removed. So, if you'll cover me, we should be able to find the bottom of this.
OOC Note: I'll be moving about 200 meters at a time between "scans", following the trail. Your call on what we encounter, if anything.

He nodded slowly. The woman was right, leaving another body just fresh for the picking out there was a bad move. It'd cause the both of them to lose their bodies, it was indeed wiser to reduce that risk. He nodded, "I got you covered." And dissappeared from sight, landing ontop of the buildings above Chakra. Whoever had stolen his body, he'd sure as hell give them a trashing they wouldn't forget soon. Honestly, it was a bother, then again. It was his own fault, leaving his body somewhere in a dark alley to swiftly jump out and dispatch a hollow. Somewhere, he was to blame. But he was sure as hell not going to give himself a trashing.
He kept following the substitute shinigami, arching an eyebrow, sighing slowly as he saw a hollow crawl down from the building infront of him, seeing Chakra as a delicious and spiritually potent snack. Within an instant, the hollow leapt at Chakra. Raiden was there within an instant, treating the hollow to a faceful of spiritual metal, rather than a spiritual snack. The thing'd Chakra hear would be a loud, heavy clunk against a hollow's mask, shattering it completely. "Four left.." He murmured to himself as he took point again, following the substitute shinigami from above.

It was a curious trial, trusting someone you'd just met to keep you alive when you wandered, literally blind, through unknown territory with unknown threats. Fortunately, Chakra was pretty good at relaxing and letting the flow take her where she needed to go. The ability she was using was perhaps the best expression of that, really. The trail wasn't terribly difficult to follow. She was pretty sure the energy she was picking up wasn't Raiden's own (unless it was VERY different than the signature his soul was radiating several meters above her). It didn't feel hollow like on its own, a fact that was thrown into sharp contrast with the sudden attack of another hollow. Chakra spun about to try and strike it, hold it off until Raiden could deal with it. Opening her eyes to fight by herself risked loosing the trail. She needn't have worried; the situation was resolved promptly.
Moving onward from the streets to alleyways of an increasingly dirty and seedy nature, the substitute was starting to feel the less pleasant side effects of having enhanced senses. The smell, blek. However, the trail became progressively warmer as the pair made their way further downtown. After a quick hop over a fence, she felt confident that opening her eyes wouldn't be a problem any more. They were here. A quick glance revealed a decrepit old warehouse that looked like it hadn't seen an occupant in a few decades. Chakra would have bet the eggs that had been destroyed earlier their target was in there. Three guards outside, with crude melee weapons. This might be fun. Gesturing up at Raiden, she made a hand motion to suggest he take to the warehouse roof. There was a large bay window up their that should give them a better view. She'd handle the lower group.

He remained in following the other substitute shinigami, his senses wide and ready to intercept any kind of other undead evil souls that would target Chakra while she was following the trail. He stopped in his tracks as Chakra did, looking over to the desolate warehouse that seemed to be her target. He looked down at Chakra and nodded, dissappearing from sight and using his shunpo to land ontop of the roof. He examined the window. Seemed like it wouldn't open on it's own. Raiden slowly sighed as he looked back to Chakra's last position. She should've been able to deal with the group on her own.
"Well. Fuck stealth." He murmured to himself, before he jumped up, pulling his legs up midair. And right before he touched the window, the substitute shinigami smacked his feet down, shattering the glass underneath his weight and the strength. With a loud thud, followed by the ringing of metal and glass smacking against the floor. He brandished his blade, taking in a deep breath of air. "Who. The fuck. Took my body?!" He yelled out loudly, sure he was pissed off. Someone stole what was his. And it wasn't just anything, no. It was his fucking human body that was stolen.
Sighing slightly, but with a little grin, at Raiden's dynamic entry to the warehouse, she seized the opportunity provided by the loud noise to charge in. Normally, three on one odds unarmed wasn't betting smart, but Chakra could see these guys weren't exactly top tier fighters. Sloppy stance, easily startled by noise...and not packing supernatural martial arts, she'd guess by their reiatsu (such as it was). While they turned to the warehouse and started moving in, she launched a surprise attack with a low spin kick. Knocking one down and pulling attention back where it belonged, she kept low and lunged forward, planting a fist into the second target's abdomen and, from the feel of it, knocked the wind clean out of him. She'd have more sympathy, were he not working for body snatchers. The final thug's reaction's were better. Swinging a pipe with the air of someone very used to doing so, he held her off for several seconds with well timed attacks. He had openings, but they closed quickly and unpredictably. Crude, but fairly effective. He'd wear himself out quickly like this, but she didn't really have time. Taking note of one of his defensive breaks, Chakra let loose and felt Svadhishthana...not activate, but support. Her motion picked up tremendous speed, plowing through the opening into his chin. The third man down and groaning, Chakra decided not to press the issue into unconciousness just yet. Instead, she went inside and resolved to deal with this quickly.
Inside, Raiden was creaming, but an audience wasn't forthcoming. The warehouse was fairly full, but not with guards. There were large containers the likes of which were stacked on ships. Shipping, huh? Easy to move around, if nothing else. But aside from Raiden's body, what were they shipping? Maybe they were smuggling thing? Pulling at one of the doors, she allowed herself another dose of reiatsu to pass through her body, focusing on Muladhara. Ripping the lock open, she peered inside and raised her eyebrows.
You may want to take a look at this... Not just stolen art or tvs or whatnot. Bodies stacked inside, all well preserved and emphatically not moving. Dashing to another container, she broke it open and saw the same. There were nearly 30 containers in here, and she'd be willing to guess most were filled. Raiden would have trouble just finding his own pseudo-corpse. More worrying questions rose however. Most prominantly...
"Tch. Empty." He said with a dry huff, idly pulling some glass from his shihakusho. Flicking a shard away. He looked around. Large containers. They were shipping at least something. Smugglers, no doubt. He looked towards his colleauge as he told he wanted to take a look at something, he nodded and walked over. He looked inside the container, arching an eyebrow. "What the fuck." Was what he muttered. Normal people would stagger back and start puking, disgusted and frightened. Yet, the constant surrounding of death as a shinigami, fighting demons and what not, had a certain numbing effect to these feelings.
"Don' touch any. We dun' want yer fingerprints on 'em." He said with a slow sigh. "Feckin' black market organ sellers.." He took a deep breath. "This has become a case fe'r the cops." He said as he started to inspect the various bodies, looking for his own human corpse. "Find mine.." He said as he kept looking though the containers. "'N don't touch anythin'. We'll get the cops on this after we found it." How the hell did a seemingly normal day escalate into finding a den of organ smugglers? Like, why the fuck not? Another slow sigh escaped from his lips.
