Gage, tired and sore from working on a bike all night trying to get one nightmarish bolt into place sits up in bed, his alarm beeping loud enough to drag him unwillingly from his sleep. Stretching and dropping his legs over the edge of the bed he buries his face in his palms trying to get the sleep out of his eyes. It was just after five, his normal routine having him wake at about nine in the morning as he is self employed and the customers that come to him are not the kind of persons that would do walk ins but would rather set appointments and meet on predetermined times and dates.
This though was taking more getting used to than he wanted, Gage standing up and slipping into the day before’s clothing and heading out the bedroom door down the stairs to the kitchen. Opening his fridge he pulls out a carton of eggs and a package of bacon. Opening his rice cooker he frowns at the sad leftovers of the night before. The rice cooker had enough rice for one more meal and was slightly over cooked so it was dry and hard. “Ugh...god…” Grabbing the pot he pulls it out and scraps the insides into the trash, refilling the pot with enough rice for breakfast. Adding water he sets the rice to auto in the pressure cooker and starts on the eggs and bacon, the smell of cooking bacon filling the kitchen quickly.
Gage has no problem helping take care of his little brother. He is family after all but dear god the early hours of the morning were like walking over glass barefoot. What the doctors need to work on is a drug that takes away the sleepy exhaustion of the night before that you can take in the form of a pill. “Ajax! Foods ready!” yelling over his shoulder he hollers up the stairs to his spare room where Ajax had set up, his overseas studying having brought him and his books to Karakuratown.
It was still the first day of the school year here and while Gage had shown him around the town there was still much that he most likely did not know about in town like the basic way to get around at all without getting lost. He was still contemplating having his little brother skip the first day of school so that they could keep going around town and he can get a better bearing on his surroundings but that was most likely not going to happen. He did not get here by skipping school to hang out in the town.
